" In his patriots Monday and I mean were backed the mile commute for dale and Michael. When he. And like companies working Monday which isn't today. Has a lot longer commute and eight miles and so he is quite as fired up about this drive -- I am Kress it's a good all them from the video. A edited and usually you're going against traffic and I was -- it's okay Michael -- that you're going against traffic it's only the opener you see you know you go back the -- into the city you're coming out that part is not bad but weaken a little bit earlier as opposed to get -- you know it's that. At the little rough on -- a -- here most days and yet to having you here yesterday what am I would have been I would accompany him out tomorrow so it's it's not that they were. Chris price from WEEI dot com is a co hosting today show while Michael takes two more days of vacation he'll be back on Wednesday. And as we said Crist was down here yesterday is meant and number of the members of the media work. And they're kind of sliding three weeks from today is the opener of the regular season. Pre season game this Thursday and in Washington but the kind of sliding. Slowly but surely into some normalcy of schedule and today will be about one on a Monday -- like around."

" Exactly there there there -- gonna get right down to it because obviously be every -- Friday night but this is starting to look. More and more like a regular season schedule you're gonna see the quarterback come out I think he's -- supposed to talk tomorrow. Usually talks in the middle of the week we're gonna seem you know that there's there's none of that pre game there's Steve before the game access. Like we usually see during the regular season they're starting to get more more into regular season schedule. They're starting to pick up steam your practices are starting to get that feeling you know that regular season feel. We were we were in the locker of history for the first time as opposed to a you know right after the team. You're starting to get more more of a feel like it's the regular season."

" Normally. Patriots Monday as a fairly -- affair for us I mean yeah and advisory and in other words we almost never have all of the patriots Monday guys in every Monday. Some guys are getting treatment it obviously if you're hurt you don't play you don't come in -- and get doctor -- But but we will probably today talk with -- Are our normal complement of defensive players I stress that because. I think for the first time in my memory were going to have an offensive player on patriots money which I'm happy about. Because our patriots Monday conversations are always -- on one side of the football. We've always had defensive guys in here on the course and -- alone Richard Seymour will join us today. Ty Warren will join us today and Vince Wilfork will join us today now it's my understanding that as the season goes on. We're gonna add Sammy Morris into our mix are patriots Monday mix. First volleys on the talked yeah Andy and he's illuminating to mean not he's insightful he he's insightful who gave you good breaker -- he's been around the league for -- you also understands our job to. But we have to -- Certain questions that might make you feel comfortable when he goes not to give way -- many states and it means to that then on -- normal Monday's one you've had a game the night before the day before you get the opportunity to discuss both sides of the football. We get an idea of how the offense performed yesterday we always get a great. Idea of how the deepens performed -- And the things that they face so will will begin our our patriots Monday interviews today and at some point later on in the program. Will be joined here in our our Gillette Stadium studios by Ty Warren. Richard Seymour and Vince Wilfork princes in the newspapers again today and news you're here yes."

" Today when he was making news there were a handful of guys around his locker and it kind of started very slowly in kind of picked up steam and he answered every single question yesterday. It was interesting because some of the people. Didn't ask the questions about the contract. Just -- but the fourth three and patted drifted away and then kind of drifted back he spoke at length. For probably about I'm guessing about twenty minutes or so. Yesterday and touched on a bunch of different issues including the contract and that's one of things we wanna talk to -- about."

" He is. -- He's an interesting guy in that and that. Whether he's matter not you probably don't really know exactly. You know whether he's upset with how things are going. He he will answer the questions and he almost always answers them pretty directly. But you know there's none of this animosity. Towards either Bob Kraft or or Bill Belichick equity organization. You know in in the comments that I read in the paper today he said look I understand. You know that that with the new CBA. But the CB -- coming up in the possibility of a new CB that their questions in the league he points out. But it has not precluded other organizations. From signing players to big contracts he points to Eli Manning obviously that the contract that Scott Pioli gave Matt Cassel. In Kansas City. But he also acknowledges. That the patriots have a number of players entering the final years of their contract in self Richard Seymour Stephen Gostkowski. -- cashier who can -- now Logan Mankins. And and I think that that he he understands. That they can't just go give. You know one year left contract extensions that everybody is on that list I'm not sure any team."

" This is a really interest in contract dispute out and -- wanna call to dispute because. Both sides have been so will meandered throughout this entire process I think you -- to run an -- you really don't get a sense from Vince. If he's terribly upset about the entire situation here's a guy like to get it resolved in -- honestly yeah that guy you'd you'd you'd like to get -- resolve but he's going to be there he's gonna show up in camp he's going to be you know. He's only missed one -- training. You know it effort even if the guy had nothing else going on in his life. Only to -- one -- training camp that's pretty Oprah."

" And the one day he missed it was for the birth of his son exactly so the one day that these men and then Bill Belichick as hard as this training camp has been. Lot of practices lot of pad practices a lot of double session days he's been careful about giving veteran guys you know. Judicious time off here there Vince has been here every day except for the day that that his son was born and who couldn't understand that he's been. As he says the campus lunch -- put on his heart had to go to work every --"

" He has been the very picture of professionalism not to get too. But to get too into -- their but he's been the very picture of what a professional football players supposed to be what he's supposed to act like he has an obligation he said you know what this and the contract. I'm going to be here now I don't know I'm intrigued to find out if his stance is going to change in the wake of the news that we read today on boston.com. That -- teacher is close to a contract extension with this team. I don't know if that's gonna change his thinking because you know he thought what we're not gonna get any sort of extensions going forward and then he picks up the newspaper this morning in reads what's. Pleasure as there -- characters close deciding apparently with a patriot."

" I bet you'll find. When all is said and done that the contract extension in the -- but sign here. Is a fraction of the cult Jack yeah that Vince Wilfork is is seeking here I understand in no disrespect meant to nick -- You know the price for offensive lineman is not the same as the price for defensive -- he ias thirty years old. You know his situation is slightly different Vince would would understand this even better than I do in that with six years of experience which he'd have at the end of this season. Under the presidency BA he's he's the he has free agents. And so he he is addressed differently I think convince. But overall it's hard you know when -- try to get a deal done and you can't get a deal done to see other people doing it wondering -- out of they get that -- out when the numbers come down. It probably going to be about a horror of what -- in."

" Yet in and we needed there's there's really when you look at the on field performance. Vince has got a pro ball I believe we at least one Pro Bowl in his back pocket. -- it it doesn't really match up but it just in the principle with -- interest in when you consider what we all went through yesterday with with with Vince. In him talking about his contract and and we find out that this. Apparently the patriots are very close to an exceptional we hear. It is something doesn't match in at least for me."

" I know that they and you'll be surprised to hear this at all they play their cards fairly close to the best around here. And and you know I think everybody is expecting I'm expecting. That you're gonna see more of the starters this week -- you'll see it any other time in the pre season. This has traditionally -- the pre season game that and I'm putting a Mike quotation fingers here that matters the one where you're trying to get the most. Of your normal guys the most amount of reps that they're gonna get now on the fourth pre season game. I don't want Tom Brady to address exactly we get about --"

" In you're not gonna see many of there you're not gonna see mini the starters in the fourteen -- you're gonna see guys were on the bubble. You're gonna see young guys trying to get they -- experience you're gonna -- new guys trying to get acclimated to the patriot system in game situations. But in this third game your -- you have to read and edit with that point. This third game is really everything when it comes to the pre season when it comes to getting those guys. You know those those those veterans they're gonna -- deep into the game probably the entire first half maybe a couple of snaps in the second half as well I would be surprised to see. Brady play at least one half but at the same time you still have to figure out what you're going to do with that backup quarterback situation there's still some depth chart questions. But I would like to see entered going forward I probably should've asked this question before we -- on the air but Dan what -- and did you read Ron Borges -- take on Brady's pre season yes they're dead yes they did that I thought it was interesting in and he did bring up a couple of very good points though. In a couple of a couple of points that I've actually written about he spoke we have I think the other year -- game. Spoke with Tom Martinez who is Brady's personal throwing groove back in the Bay Area. Has worked with him since I believe he was thirteen years right. And I wrote the -- and we still works with to this day yeah Alexander -- he actually keep federal he still does this but as of a couple of years ago Brady's still kept pointers. That that Martinez has written down for him. On a -- down on a piece of notebook paper in his back pocket and kind of go through them before the game you know they treated this retreated this retreated as. During hurricane talked with Tom Martinez I've talked with Tom Martinez they're gonna be some performances this year very early on -- he does not look like. But Tom -- of 2007 or all 2000 significant."

" About it he didn't play at all in the pre season last year. I don't know how many offensive series they got the Kansas City game before he got -- but it was only couple it was less than it so so think about this now. How many how many real offensive snaps in anger has he taken since Glendale Arizona done and -- so. Why are we shocked that he doesn't look like the Tom Brady of -- why why -- I could have because he set the bar so high and we're so used to seeing Brady. Wing and touchdown passes all over the like end up the last -- the we have a Brady is that 2007 season. Where he threw you know gobs and gobs touchdown passes all of you know -- it was it was the greatest show on turf for lack of a better term. What we wanna see from him Eustace is to see him. Reach a reasonable facsimile of that level by this they but by the indices but again he's gonna have some -- rhetoric there's no question about."
