David Ortiz reportedly tested positive for PEDs in 2003

" I don't know that this necessarily. Qualifies as breaking news or shocking news. But it's it's news that is not gonna excite to many members of Red Sox Nation. The New York Times in a piece written by Michael S Schmidt. And that post it about ten minutes ago. Has a story. -- headline of which is Ortiz and Ramirez. Said to be on 2003 doping list. The opening paragraph of the story by Michael S Schmidt reads as follows. Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz the sluggers who propelled the Boston Red Sox. To end at 86 year World Series championship drought in the capture another title three years later. Were among the roughly 100 major league baseball players to test positive for performance enhancing drugs in 2003. According to lawyers with knowledge of the results. I'm a little perplexed as I read through the story and it's a fairly lengthy piece here which just posted in the last few minutes. I'm a little perplexed what led them to the story now. Now this goes back to that list of a 104 or a 103 now that we you know more more we thought was a 103. And we kind of always felt that sooner or later we were gonna hear about more. And more of these of the 103 names that -- left."

It also says unlike Ramirez who recently served a fifteen game suspension for violating baseball's drug policy. Ortiz had not previously been linked to performance enhancing substances it also says. Apparently. Ortiz was asked about it today in Boston at the ballpark. Presumably by the New York Times. That the story says ask about the 2003 drug test on Thursday in Boston Ortiz shrugged. I'm not talking about that anymore he said I have no comment on -- The comment you're looking for no way there's no denial hair I'm not talking about it but is that the is that the ways to handle. I have a feeling kind of caught him out of the blue we probably didn't have time to prepare in his own mind how he was gonna aggressive when it was gonna say."
