" Like I know it's baseball season I know it's the week of the trading deadline. I know that Red Sox Nation is all up in arms after a couple of tough losses in a row at home against the Oakland days. But I gotta tell you there's something about being down here at Gillette. BM on the balcony smelling the grass listening to the the thump of the soccer ball against the foot watching the New England Revolution going through their women look at the wrong field my mistake all of our. Football players over here you're only person that meant that from. There's a bunch of people would bleachers over."
" An audio is amazing and I actually feel bad for the rants. I -- they -- right Ed nobody's look at that -- in those Summers as we get on this Liz. Analysts Summers calls and emails it and its chief jay heaps of them on Asia says -- great interview. Fantastic. Yard directive for the revolution. I don't understand why one person is not down. Looking at the revenues I know I looked earlier -- hours of first I've been here since before nine I know they were there aren't too. Yeah. There are hundreds maybe even a thousand. Or thousands of people down here watching the patriots. And then on an adjacent field. This little step brother and Debra. Not in the second not even in the -- I mean knowing -- Stewart -- Bill Belichick that security at the body of my other practice field over. I got that reference this game day for the for the record and just so in case comes up trivia question later on Brian hoyer was the first player on the field. I bring that up because I'm not sure Oliver say his name again --"
" Understandably people accredited but yet it is the first day of training camp down here and big game James Grant me if I'm wrong I think. -- dug deep into the archives -- that well from Bill Belichick on Tom Brady was that Eddie. Super Bowl press conference after Brady won the MVPs that as accurate that -- correct about that. I mean. And that was I say everything go after Super Bowl 38. That's correct. -- it James. 38. And I came up with. The -- Line on Brian Anderson five and the only other one of them when he found this -- Marquis Daniels yeah. And -- mentioning marquee game."
" There are real life football players down on the field in front of us to answer a couple of questions that some of you -- here might have. Yes number twelve is out there. Doing everything everybody else is doing not trying to hide that knee brace on the left -- by the way as he was doing earlier on that the knee brace is pretty obvious. Yes by the way number 75 is out there. Made his entrance along and everybody else like kinda we both thought there was very little chance to. We're pretty sure that you see Vince Wilfork here this one of the mandatory. Events that football players are supposed to be I will tell if and we don't think it's any big deal I don't know what's going on but Randy Moss is not out there. Which surprises us a little bit now we were told somebody saw him walk out here. But he's not out on the field at the moment but pretty much everybody else."
" If you like starting Truman estate including Bill Clinton expressed. And that kind of thing about their right now would. Who knows what that means as far as number twelve -- service earlier in the cross over. There's -- if a coach comes to close to Tom Brady that coaches Bill Belichick yesterday I -- be authorized. To be that area to be in this circumference. Fans if they get too close. For autograph sessions. They will be removed and in barred from Gillette Stadium life line -- But now -- are right but we don't know what Tom Brady's got a -- on illegals out there on the field and I've got. What this wind tunnel was like. As sales got all the open starts. The winds start Howland. And -- that windy it was just our position here at Gillette Stadium where we're up here. In the Matt -- area of Los Angeles. You know I got cameras. The cameras are going to big paralegal and I think this guy -- of the -- They got something they got I've got two guys appear I think there are either they're working for the cult of their -- over the patriot we don't know."
" And we'll assume it's the patriots to -- thrown off the -- and and that no one has said Pate tree not yet zone knowing. That it did -- The other -- as you guys know been -- training camp it's very well regiment it you just heard the horn go off in the background. They have practice periods each practice period has a specific time summer fifteen summer five summer -- The very first practice period everybody was split off and they're different position groups and I just like to watch and see what goes on. And the very first practice period Bill Belichick spent the entire fifteen minute period with a defensive line. And it wasn't just stand and there was his arms crossed and you know observing or whatever. He's down there in -- stopping the play. You know put its hands on Richard Seymour showing where he wanted the other defensive linemen to push him he's a very hands on coach. The -- you know the the tiny little detail -- them no more of your hand this much this way and then you'll have better balance and but he spent the entire first fifteen minute period with a defensive line and work in all of them."
" Yeah I -- they already. It's early in camp might vote in this there are already some guys I wanna cut too far off this roster. Well our expert in Italy was listening. Real sorry about dispersed well and how does not the first."
" get to him I'll get the first one and another just acquired this kid from Tampa. He had a great rookie year. Or for the Buccaneers and any kind of fell off Alex Smith I don't know I think I wanna cut him. Smith is wearing number eighty it just doesn't look right after Hannity and that he would be a football player out there wearing number eighty. What is it don't don't don't assign that number yet seen it should be blaming Alex and blame the -- you -- cut whoever's on number where the equipment manager is who gave them."
" Michael I had done by the."
" Is him I don't. So Alex Smith maybe -- trouble by the by the end of the day now this guy has a tremendous name. Here -- the BC thing comes out and out all -- yet they're not there yet or not there yet look at him his name is. -- Days. Jones what a great. Iran a Daze Jones but. Jobs are dynamic team he wears number points that. Hole you can't you weren't happy there are there there'll be enough but not gonna step. On a New England Patriots. He will be missed this year. With kick -- returns. You'll be missed this year when he blows a coverage and the guy goes on the field service for our --"
" All right -- that's up. They've made their -- and I seen you enough blood got in this case I'm actually happy they're right and -- that you please don't --"
" I use most of the time we say. We can ever relate to professional athletes because they do things that we can do you relate to -- reported that yeah absolutely it was so flawed that -- a naturalized you can imagine that you were out there. And you know. Larry FitzGerald runs -- yeah. Yeah yeah. That's been inseparable most important play of the game and it can happen if -- got -- you're pants and there goes Plaxico Burress without the gun and Michael doesn't it I'll be happy of one on one coverage on that -- but at some curious choices in the year ago. -- any Vinny Ciurciu. Number fifty years it. Good Boston College July."
" I drill hello Michael."
" Number you can't be wearing number via. Somewhere right now Mike ray Allen's Kansas City, Missouri Mike Vrabel got a chill you know I set aside in there have been the only constraint imposed on all they don't do that. Extreme this may be their last year here in Wisconsin somewhere that there's somewhere else. If it fits. If it's in Missouri it's been it's it's not in Kansas City there one of those teams that -- far away."
" All of the ones that of the people you wanna cut. Numbering eighties the most egregious form right I mean you can't beat trot out number eighty the year I mean let the body cold for this article now. Everywhere and at this and I have a feeling the other somebody guys here at this time of the year. -- that you know when you get into when you get down your 55 in your 53 and then you get your forty man got a feeling maybe those numbers might not exist anymore. Yeah like in baseball. You know you can always go with -- high number. When football -- more guys we have but you know I have triple digit yet you can't do number 105 that's when you know -- longshot. -- make this thing yeah. That's why I know what's -- your watch it when Billy yelling get number 105 in there it's probably bad -- there for your body. -- of you for your -- if there. Well it it is it is fun to sit here in and watch football players and see what they're doing it just get the feel let another season has started. It's very much like you know the first stayed out of Fort Myers here. First day of celtics' training camp for bruins' training camp but the the patriots are always well it's always hot and steamy usually today is actually pretty nice for. The first of two sessions scheduled for today. And a number of people who show up here on sorry you don't get quite this many of Wilmington. You don't get this many health point. You don't get this many the first they work -- in Fort Myers."
" It's an interesting year because. This is -- team in transition. You know it is if the team that is lost. You know one of -- one of it's what two of his big time defensive leaders. Mike Vrabel and Rodney Harrison -- team that has a quarterback. Coming back from an injury you don't know -- is gonna respond -- that -- team with some contract questions to me Richard Seymour. Is a contract question. Vince Wilfork is a contract question what do you do -- this might be Tedy Bruschi is last season. So you've got a lot of institutional memory that has left some institutional memory that isn't and probably in its in its final season and some guys that you. You've grown to love. As as football players not as as neighbors but as football player right like Richard Seymour Vince Wilfork. "
" But by the move and all of it's certainly -- well in fact it's it's likely one of those two will you know one album why don't absolutely will almost half do. Given the nature's have a salary cap league in and the stratosphere that they've worked themselves into one of them is probably almost positively gonna have."
" Be gone after this and there's another question -- talk about this in other running back chase for the running back competition. I don't understand that not to review if you feel this way. I don't understand the people who say. That this is it Make or Break training camp for Laurence Maroney. I don't believe he's at that point where if he has in an average camp but he's got to be cut -- is in danger of being cut."
" No but I tell you why he can't get hurt again anything. I mean you know that that'll line about you can't make the club in the tub and and I think that they have. They have grown frustrated with his inability to stay available to them on a regular basis."
" I I don't think so I I I I disagree with that Laurence Maroney. As -- in the regular season has played in thirty of a possible 48 games so -- eighteen games missed. I mean I'm not saying that's a small number that's a pretty big number but that guy. Last year. He was already -- yeah. And then he had to miss the bulk of last season because he had another injury. What -- but when you average missing six games a year that's a little frustrating for coaching it maybe it can be frustrating and and perhaps. I'll put it this way it's frustrating if he hasn't done everything he's needed to do. To get himself and -- But if you work hard in the off season and if he's been one of those guys who was on the verge of killing his own parking space. Right down the road here. Then it's football. It's -- it's it's a violent sport things are gonna happen when you especially if you're carrying the ball. As much as a running back or secure involved but I look at his numbers when he's been out here. And I I think most people were talking about Laurence Maroney putting him in the same sentence as Chad Jackson would be surprised. By the production he's had an NFL he's average over four yards per carry in his career. We just the magic number yes it is four point three I think that's the number. What what I thought they -- the number's type the numbers tell you that. He can he can he can find holes when he's not dance. The numbers tell you that he can be a home run hitter just like he was in college I think is the long run is over fifty yards 5153. Something like that. The numbers also tell you that he's on an every down back right. You know you look at his career numbers his career numbers equate to a very good season for one of these workhorse of Michael Turner. LaDainian Tomlinson -- but he's not going to be that he's probably going to be somebody. It if things are going really well form he's ever had 200 carries in the season he's gotta be 200 carry back. And so you're gonna need Fred Taylor. To pick up the slack -- it to bounce back from a rough season last year the only Kevin -- to do his usual thing. I unity Sammy Morris to give you. Anywhere from 95 -- 115 carries you gonna have to piece it together because I don't think Laurence Maroney. Can be a 25300. Carry back in the NFL."
" There are a lot of questions and and all it it is a year of transition as you said by the same token a team without Tom Brady won eleven games last year. I mean with Tom Brady playing half of the first quarter of the first game. Won eleven games last year according to the Vegas oddsmakers for whatever stock you put this they are now the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl this year. Anybody who looks at the NFL somewhat realistically in May that we can't -- were too close to the forest. To see the trees you'd have to say this one of the best teams in the NFL today."
" It is one of the best teams in the NFL today but I'm not ready to call them favorites because. I need to see some questions answered special especially those guys were in the polluters are -- right every year. With the deepens that was as inconsistent as this one as last year. Let's let's be more specific. The deepest that was on reliable as reliable as it -- with last year. How can you say they are they are Super Bowl favorite they're gonna have a great offense and about my mind. And had a great offense before it got to all the way to the Super Bowl and they were two minutes away from Wynette thing but. Can't -- we can we count on them having. Another historic -- and can they top themselves and compete with themselves in 2007. And get to that level offensively in that they have to that makes you wonder about the playoffs if you -- win games that way. It out it's like yes it is a pretty dangerous game to play eventually we'll catch up with."
" Well we are down here at Gillette it is the first day of training camp -- kind of have a short show today just timing being what it is. We have red Sox baseball this afternoon on Sports Radio.
