Right in the middle and in front of a very winnable central division."

" You know to me John it all starts out with what they don't that's starting rotation. You know I've -- a lot of people talk about. When Jackson and what he's done fourteen game winner a year ago with Tampa. They made -- a pretty good outfielder but it looks like tigers may have gotten a number one starter yet that along with a healthy -- Lander. Remember a few years ago we want to rookie year and any it was a big win and he was like a seventeen game loser. Everybody wondered what happened -- velocity was down he's gotten all that back he's made some adjustments and I think it starts right there for so the -- last night again. Didn't have his best but you know it's one of those things or your face and Red Sox. Very seldom does anybody seemed to have there really good stuff they're playing better defense they've got a great manager. They get three guys down there at the of the bullpen that throw hundreds so you know when you look at that division. Lot of the other teams you know you've figured best 500 this is the one team that I think John it could run off and -- No offense hasn't clicked yet I mean I imagine if they can get that's going in this lineup. They might feel a little distance between themselves and the rest that division I leave you with and that's what Jim -- was Sam before the game you know we need to heart of the order these guys that -- had a track record to just do what they're they're capable and have been doing but. What's wrong with David Ortiz we've seen a few times when you see from Big -- I the first word and John it comes to mind is confidence and you know what we've all been there I mean you'd just you know you're gonna go through peaks and valleys. It's been you know a total -- ever since he put on that Boston Red Sox uniform it. I talked to quite a bit before the game about that I remember a scenario in 1992. Cal Ripken junior actually asked me. About him miss and gain. He was talking about in the mystery because he was at 180 and he just felt horrible people were saying he was tired he was being selfish. I told him he didn't need to do that's it for once in your life you need to be selfish. Don't put all of this pressure on you to turn -- 180 average around go out there and I try to get one good pitch to hit it try to get one hit. Cal Ripken went for like eight straight days a straight ball games where he got one hit the next thing you know he got three the next thing you know at the end of the year it was 2725. And I was one of the first guys it's that Delgado was done he had all of the signs I mean that the the bat speed it's slowed down it looked like -- his vision wasn't the same as it was before he looked old out during the field playing first run in the bases but you know what watching David Ortiz in batting practice they talk about the bat speed the power hours of warning track type guy and now. He's not a warning track type guy in batting practice I think you had a little shot account with you letting go through here for ball games we just gets one good at it every night those three and -- to start them. When the Yankees are rolling right now and he had a chance to see him last week against the Rangers how do you see the division how do you see that team. There outstanding right now Joe Girardi has has put his. His his stamp on that ballclub now. It's not a Yankee team like you've seen in the past there's been some some problems have been some guys in the clubhouse that really didn't fit. This team is playing with a lot of confidence. They like each other which is the first time you could say that in a while they're very businesslike. Their defenses tighten up sabathia.
