" I'm doing good doing. Doing great so so what do you say when. When you're called for -- unnecessary roughness lady -- fifteen yard penalty. What do you go back what would go back and say your -- first -- you know what is it official what do you think your guys I think the guys the guys see see the way and they know feels warranted or not and they can give you. Yeah that you're giving goals in those you know come on man or something like what he's doing or something like that but I think the guys. -- so -- let up towards the end I mean I think I think he was little bit out of bounds but I let up and then. I don't even think Ronnie went down on -- and so you know after the flag was thrown it. You sort of plea to KC the official and you see a little bit of a doubt in his eyes but he threw the flag and it's too -- you -- instant action number. And then you think yourself. Maybe you should've gotten."
" We're out of it. Really all of a little bit -- I don't sport so really you think about it he arguing and umpire he's never change in the call. NBA they never changed the call so while in the NFL they'll pick up the flight one total yeah."
" I've I've I've been right in those those discussions in between officials in this to them there and you pitcher. You plead your case in there and I've I've it it's a rarity but I've seen the tide turned a little bit sometimes so where one official says something in the official. Doesn't agree aren't did you have a better view and then like it's picked up -- the -- days so. You know they they do a good job working it out I think that. I think when you come home and and and your wife -- the area -- adamant about."
" And honestly -- with our yards as evidence that definitely no doubt about that oh yeah you hit me. -- it's funny now what we're trying to we're trying to put this out. Off the -- you won't believe this gave me the quarterbacks in NFL history who have thrown for back to back 400 yard games we got Dan Marino. We knew we got Phil's names we know why we didn't hit Dan for outs that's wide -- of Korea about the fourth one. You'll ever get this you'll never get much not a great quarterback. Billy Volek. Really really -- the last one did it is really policies. -- Naturally I would against him. I mean you didn't they could yeah it is important that yard deep threat at running it and and it never really had great receivers there with the Giants good tight end than our great receivers. What do you think back councils. Development. Over the course of the season."
" It's been incredible I mean I think. -- said this year bunch I mean now all we you we we let him know we're behind demand just improve every week and did you did you expect did you expect that improvement to be. Back to back 400 plus yard passing games no probably not but the -- to see him take it this far is. You know it is is it you're you're watching a player soda. Seize his opportunity to really take advantage you always talk about taken advantages of opportunities and and this is a prime example I mean. In terms of playing experience what that he wouldn't really have you know I mean I I global high school and so I think it's gotta be that. One of the best stories I've heard in recent memory I mean -- about the Kurt Warner thing -- and from stacking grocery grocery store shelves -- like that to playing quarterback Leahy when he did but. But -- and not have a lot of experience to come out and it just shows you that. You know if if if with through hard work and determination from those young kids out there I mean it's possible to just keep on working in and you're when your chance comes you've really got to take advantage of it and that's what Matt's done."
" and earlier. If Pete Carroll doesn't use this as a recruiting pitch he lost to you can come here and even if you don't mind that you can give to the -- it happens he can put that Matt Cassel -- his back pocket I mean in the living room and release them acting too. Whenever I actually. Coach got this guy whose start -- and he's done all this and all that. --"
" You know so. Night -- Europe veteran your captain your Pro -- Super Bowl champion you probably would get a little leeway here if Bill Belichick said. Yet Bruschi off the field paid to -- no I've not government I'll. Look what happened here."
" You know that's. Man there there I remember I remember an instance once I think we're playing the Jets here oh wait awhile back in the that was a part does that play where. I hit Curtis Martin -- Curtis Martin in my helmet sort of popped up off from my head -- sort through and off they went on the ground and then that's or about. A sign of loss of composure in Belichick's and somebody in the get me out and then. That's that's the one time and probably want to say whoever it was -- out just to get back in but you know still you gotta you gotta put that put that helmet on and get often heard about he talked about -- out there and so it was -- not coming off you know. You can go on and only talk about Jerry Martin what is says what he says we'll never."
" You know level and that's still my favorite like I had a when they got their own men. What do you do win you know."
" But he you know not that that's not us that's -- we no we we hope that we don't have we don't have veteran players that that's set that example what it on the heat of the moment a lot of things can happen out there."
" How tough is it becomes shore. Throughout the course of the season throughout the course of the game there many times that player says something just to get -- to react. How tough is it on a weekly basis. Choose to maintain that composure."
" There's there's sort of an unwritten OK. I mean. -- I've talked trash before you know a lot of things can be sent out there and -- why expect some reports that can be used and no there are certain things as usually keep its. If the that usually keep you do there's there's sort of unwritten code okay you can say anything you want about -- about -- last play about playing abilities about. You know I've been called many things out there and so. I mean but when when you cross that line and go over to two overs to some other areas I think that's when spark can really. Can -- detonate and somebody and and sometimes you know somebody's got to pay for. So so basically don't don't talk about my family. Yeah the other thing I mean family personal issues any type of there there -- a lot of things that you know. I can say some things like say what some -- out there I can go get up in his face and say something -- in the states but it's in the heat of battle after the game I'll -- to that fifty and we shake each other's hands and say good game now as did Osgood hit that one player something like that. But something's something's some -- can't be crossed and if that. I can tell -- certain line was cross -- me it I don't know how I'd react either if if if if something was said that that maybe it was outline I mean. It's sometimes it's tough to keep your composure in certain situations."
" You know our I'd just the way things work out our Patriots Monday guys are defensive guys knew and Richard and Ty and -- And -- Patriots Friday guys for the most part are offensive guys. Like Matt -- for instance -- and it seems like it's the offensive guys who had to listen the the most crap on the field. Because I get the impression talking to Richard convinced that the offensive players. Didn't get -- out of line with the stuff that was being set out there talking yesterday right right just yesterday."
" Yeah I mean in terms of ourselves defensively. We don't we don't consider you know we don't consider Miami huge trash -- there's a little -- that goes out every single game you know and that I think. I think if you look at sides of the ball mostly -- the trash talkers are on defense you know they're the ones that are trying to. You know give that intimidation factor out there try to get people's heads because. There's lot of things going on on that offense out of the ball and and I think -- players maybe need to keep their composure a little bit more and defensive players needed to weaken it go a little bit where the ones out there trying to deliver hits and and and not take them so I think we can we have a little bit more time. Little bit more time to -- some things to say in that let them out who was the best trash talker he ever played -- Of the best trash -- ever played -- That's a tough one I -- I got a name in my -- what an honor of one of the going to say this guy's name you know in terms of in terms of rhetoric and intelligence. And delivery you know I think I think Mike Vrabel got to be up there that I think I think he's up there ethic I think hot rod was. Is always was always Angela that the name I had mine hill isn't intimidating force when when -- he'd hit somebody units that somebody you know about it and no there there army numerous like 510 years -- something like that that I think in recent memory -- those are those two that really stand out to see my name was Brian Cox. Yeah yeah I had had a historic at a source that Brian and he was pretty good -- yeah yeah he was and I think -- he was who the player also antics sometimes the fans and something like that maybe maybe. Maybe going overboard a little bit but he it was a very intense individuals and."
" guys like Vrabel -- dangers because. I think they get down and dirty talk trash with you or you can do that -- intellectual trailer dog. We talk it over their head -- I it's always some about me is bad are really don't understand exactly what they think. -- it's not complementary rather than there at times. Now I'll tap rave about the play at that made that play at least he. -- conduct. And now you'll be true you tell me they know. You know do. The days -- you tell me you don't even go to class at Ohio State EB eyebrow and elect us practice -- It was as if he had his expect its off field. Go to class that we don't want -- don't want."
" Academic cereal and athletes. But how your coaches respond as -- these. In politics how they respond you gave a very good explanation sometimes you do cross that line is tough. Or players across the line which will force you to respond how they respond to that answer if you are say ejector from a game -- your flack for penalty today except that."
" Haven't been in that situation before I don't know how it went with Matt but how I would think -- it would -- like this somehow. I get an altercation. I get -- where an official it would throw me out the game and you do that on the ejection from the game number 54. And then I come over to the sideline in my coaches say do you. Tedy what happened out there what to do that four -- coach he said this. And that I would think it would be enough to from -- coach to say. Okay. Just punches and it's. A huge -- about you know so I mean I think there they understand also mean. Someplace you don't go you know say that again and I think I don't know a thousand same situation I mean of course we can't we can't. I wasn't out there and we can't go over to record what was sadder or words or if you like that of course we talks -- ourselves as teammates but. You know I think. I think in a situation like that it would have been it would of taken all of my self control to compose myself. How much self controlled. Out on the field. I like I think I have a lot and I think I have like that the Avalanche I think a few years ago Tennessee when -- went ballistic out there one time winner. When I'm Bobby Wade cut down Rodney Harrison a little bit -- thought it was a it was something where he went high in the in the run in the -- and then he went down low in. You know win over Rodney and arrested as it Rodney what happened and run it means it -- cut me. And it just snapped something in me into wearing assorted sort of went over to the bench and a -- You know sort of going ballistic you know -- the Yankees again analysis. Which is going off and I think -- was a situation where. That's that's sometimes -- that's one instance round loss of control but I consider consider myself someone that doesn't do that often."
" When my favorite stories. It -- end and bought his way out anyway Arizona wildcats that is doing no work out yet you know you know too much I. I don't. You know too much. Great."
" You guys got to change something up yesterday where. Dean Pees was up in the box. Matt Patricia was signaling that the signals in from the sidelines and hot that worked just from from an x.s and -- get the play -- to the gut onto the field and all last."
" Yeah it was the first time oh. Matt -- really had an expanded role this time and him being down on the field I think he I think he did a great job of it and no he was he was a calming presence out there -- you know you think someone to be there in that situation for the first time maybe the nerves get them a little bit maybe -- though -- jump B rating like -- I think apartment he did a great job. A really. -- the troops down and in getting the calls and calls in getting the call you know talking of course Belichick with the communication and you know when he's is down there also is the same way so it's nice to see that there was no really change there was no change really there wasn't. A big. The big big difference in my comment he's down there's this way and Matt -- down there's this way I don't think it was a big change but I think that he did a great job of really keeping a consistent force in terms of whether -- was there not you know it was still something to where we felt everything was under control."
" So I understand where it's if you would really help dean I think to see it from that angle I can see where there's a benefit. Is there is there a communications gap. Where you know if dean wants to can be and say -- this is what I'm seeing in this is what you don't want or he just get on the headphones and talk to McKinley on --"
" Yeah there there there is that tone that that I don't know if you are. On home games there's this -- black phones and the -- in terms of players coaches names are called -- the fans Patricia or something like that I've wanted to wreck and I can always pick that up and talk there's so. That's bad month communications always open in terms of the views the sideline -- compared to if you up there in the boxes. It just it just depends on a coach's preference and it was -- it was. And how they decided that he's won -- in the what's there's this game whether it be different different different aspect of it. This next game versus the Steelers will see but I thought I thought it worked well on either way that it's still it's still advantageous for us I'm sure their time anyone top those guys sent me text. -- that is -- I don't like talking right now go to. I hit you back later -- some of those plays Maria you know you're sort of and a screw up or something like that they've become a -- and you know they're going to say before you say and that's my -- Wednesday and excellence they just."
" It'll be great featured -- great feature maybe even great book. -- it's a book but it would be good good magazine article to -- and and observe linebackers meetings and I'm sure there's other. Thing. Well yourself good comedies actually. That the personalities and there you. Vrabel idealist when he's healthy I don't know if he's still going to be innings even if these guys as -- seriousness. And Patricia I'm shorter some good some good conversations going on there."
" At throwing a couple of youngsters in there also that keep -- fresh with you know Crable Guyton and in Mayo you know those guys that. Then there's read those guys really at a little bit of spice themselves you know as I was in a couple weeks how they keep us up all occupants -- upon our pop culture with all these new. These songs -- artists or anything like that so I got and to have a pop culture silent question I'm asking them but it's it's it's a great room it's a great room I mean. I mean guys I mean these young guys joke with me all the time about your rookie year I think I was like in --"
" Develop trust unless something like. It's Favre is fun now when you're rookie and you walk in in network. Yeah it's it is it shut up listen don't speak unless spoken to is that how you approached it when you when you first went there."
" pretty much with every rookie that it is first at first or I think I was walking into. Honestly. Willie McGinest please Todd Collins Ted Johnson at second it then but. It was it was something where Regis you know speak we've spoken to and religious -- no account write notes make sure you know make sure you learn everything before you open your mouth and even ask that question because. I mean veterans. You don't really want to waste their time either you know there if you are asking questions about -- is tied in left here. You know that the most basic of questions -- the vets like that here you know so he really just try to absorb everything in as the year goes on as the year goes on. I mean we don't really suppress those guys about there -- of individual -- the -- now manages to ski quite keep quiet keep quite that we we want them to be individuals themselves because. You know to me that's how you become a good player I mean if you're you're able to be yourself amongst the team you know I think. As long as you teach him get that base foundation of the way we expected to be in training camp in those early games that come with time where guys gotta be yourself you gotta go out there you get the job done because. You know there can be times where are going to miss a tackle and I'm Egypt have my back to the same for you."
" And and it's fortunate for you Teddy being here in New England all these years. Can you think of a situation. For yourself for anybody else a linebacker comes in here. And somebody become so protective they say I'm going to help but this kid this kid has come and then they try to get him to take my job can you think of of that happening. Since it at any time since 1996 when he came to Italy."
" I can't I think that the person coming in when would definitely have to show. An attitude of of may be arrogance of arrogance. Of being conceded about being all about himself. And not really to be part of the group -- being just an individual that keeps himself separate from the back and -- something like that but not I mean. -- you can't be that way that's not really be that team player I mean -- Florida to be that way with what we're like Guerrier Jerod and I think there. -- development would would would have slowed a little slower level so I think for me to be a better player. It's to have the best players around me. And so to try to get -- when he's playing next to me or try to get Jerry when he's playing next to me or informing still still doing the job that that we except we expect them to do you."
" Probably like a coach in the sense that if you tell Jerod Mayo -- and our guy and something to read and you see them apply it during the game it's like yeah. That's exactly what I was talking about two weeks ago when you finally got it nets. That's that's enjoyment for him."
" Yeah -- you have. I mean I've had those moments where you know -- you try to help them out a little bit but I think I think now it's it's I think everyone's CN. The ability of -- of what he can do and and he's always had that in -- he just you know with with him and I it's just relationship to where. If we're on the same page out there before the snap I mean I know this kids is this is going to be a great player and always going to get the job and so and and -- with yours so. You know -- you want them to do that I really want to see them do well I mean I mean these two young guys there who boo him they may be the -- 345 years on the line."
" There's say there's a couple of teams that even though they're not your division -- must feel like they are Indianapolis. Seems like you're always playing in San Diego. I think Pittsburgh probably in that category as well a team not your division but you know pretty well by --"
" I think I think you get that field and whenever. Before you watch film. You anticipate which -- Tennessee. He's sort of expected to be that way so aqueduct this mean -- in there and once in Pittsburgh film. -- expectancy is is the physical offensive line -- expectancy. You know big strong physical quarterback also mean hard running game. Hines Ward so doing the things he's doing so I mean when you know somebody that well you can sort of anticipate those -- a week -- play on that happened so. I think that's that's that's nothing new now -- mean Steve -- The Steelers are who they are you just -- Pittsburgh Steelers and and you expect this going to be tough physical game and I think that's that's way we're built especially defensively in. It's a game that I think will look forward to there's been some talk around the league -- here that Hines Ward as a dirty player has that been your experience. Absolutely not absolutely that I I respect Hines Ward I think he's he's done his job for a long time I think. The only thing he does play hard you know and I think. Maybe the guys that made me think he's -- years some of the guys that maybe he's -- better -- something like that but in terms of my experiences with them Patriots versus Steelers. I mean he's given some given some over aggressive face masks that gone into the sideline or something like that but I mean that's again that's that. Pittsburgh steeler mentality that he's trying to set and on offense he -- Talk about someone being a tone setter a receiver I mean him as a receiver being a tone setter is is really out of out of the ordinary but he can do that with is that in the physical play the way -- he blocks the way he prides himself on -- blocking in the running game and a you know get those -- those crucial third down conversions so. In -- tickets in my place a complementary player. We appreciate your time is always had a happy Thanksgiving thank you guys have a Thanksgiving in Phoenix where Tedy Bruschi joining us Sports Radio WE."
