Automatically Generated Transcript (may not be 100% accurate)

" Our number three Dennis and Callahan added as the quarterback Galarraga is Patriot Monday that's become a Patriot Tuesday Matt Cassel to -- forty. Leading off the quarterback -- the quarterback for the four and two Atlanta Falcons -- Boston College standout. Matt -- good morning -- how -- Under under -- I currently -- a -- recovered well we appreciate take a little time on this Tuesday morning it would appear map much rather be glib here. But this quarterback thing in the NFL rookie isn't as hard as some people make it your adjustment is it. These were easier. Better easier than you thought it would be before it all began Matt."

" You know I don't know if you know what to expect when when you come into the genocide -- You know it's such a difference such a change and it's been. I think you'd been more difficult than people think. You know there has been a lot of adjustments but I think the biggest thing for our team. Is that some when he got around -- have been playing really well our offensive line has done a great job in. A wideout and running backs. Made some plays and that really helps."

" About what what. Did you expect that was exactly as you expected wouldn't go up to the NFL and the second part of that question is out what didn't -- seek common."

" Well it's tough. You know because it is tough to have expectations could that is so different -- you know I thought. I thought I'd be able -- pro ball live and I have in college and and in that be accurate with the football and and that hasn't changed I think there's still feel like -- good command of of where put the ball. I want to -- but I don't think he expected news. Quickly the weeks turnover I think in college. You know you prepare for certain things in the game plans are our. I'm fairly tight end and when you get into the NFL. There's a lot more preparation you do in terms what you're drawn against the defense isn't and what you're doing out about -- feel like the weeks just trying to turn -- much faster."

" If this one play that defines your your career so far you season so -- at pro against Chicago you had six seconds used five. When you release the ball when you completed the ball did you. Did you think he used up too much time did you think you got in got it to him under the wire."

" I applaud I didn't know -- need to to be honest with depth but I didn't know and so the first thing you do -- kind of got it on the play the first thing you do it -- looked up epic practice fit to make sure that they stopped and you know they -- on balance those big."

" I mean it was incredibly big -- and I obviously needed to kick. Is that. -- we talk about things you learned things that surprise you. -- when young guys young quarterbacks commonly they'll say they -- faster everything moves faster. And you mentioned the week moving faster. A do you feel like the players -- moving fast to the pass rushers the linebackers is everyone moving faster on the field than they did last year."

" I think I admit that things are I think that's. You know the reason everybody says because used to. I think especially the front seven I think defensive line and linebackers move faster than they do because in the past threshers quicker. And I blitzes off the -- quicker other what you're seeing college so I think. He hit it takes I think that's the biggest adjustment I think you play against good corners in college in you have fast wide receiver so. I think you're just about beat faster than you do the past rations and the blitzes."

" and Matt Ryan but by definition quarterbacks have to be leaders and I'm wondering even at this early stage in your rookie season in the NFL. Do you feel like you -- leader of men men who were much older and have much more experienced than you in that locker room."

" File a you know I think I think. -- that -- take command when I get into the on most guys listen happened and respond to and so and that sent a desolate that you are leader. But you have to -- outta your own way and it takes time to as a rookie usually you know is it going to take some time earned everybody's respect from a pic of got a good job in. In kind of get America as the season has progressed but I got a long way to --"

" Now we lower -- will tell anyone who listens. You remind him of Tom Brady is that a flattering. Or is that is that is do you feel like is too much too soon obviously you know keep the you give yourself lawyer I'm just. Rookie trying to make it in this league you know put me at that level yet."

" Well you know our I don't I got there yet certainly have a long way to go it is flattering to hear that because law I played with him for awhile. But at the same time I think there's sprays that remind me I heard that I think lawyers and that this means that reminds him of commons and certainly not there yet but. That is flattering yeah."

" I just -- coach jags offense helped you in the pro style and him being eight -- professional quarterback coach. Helped junior preparation but. But how much more complicated as what you are running in Atlanta than even what you do the Boston College can you put that in the some sort of terms that we can understand met."

" I think you know it definitely helped jags come -- definitely -- it is city have obviously spent. A lot of time in the NFL -- at a good understanding for what NFL offenses do especially in terms of protection. And I think that has been the biggest thing that has translated. From college to the NFL has been the protection schemes and it's very similar to what we're doing. Now but I think it's just more defined in the NFL. There's more adjustments that Japanese makers different call different things that you can do. And and then you can do because you have more time to prepare and so I would say that's that's kind of power. Transition from from Jack -- offense -- what we're doing now."

" You're known as they are a much of this term applies to the -- eight gym rat at Boston College in terms of studying the film first opponent last -- ago. How many hours a day would you estimate on non game days Matt are you are you involved whether it's at home watching video or in the in the facility getting getting ready for Sunday's game how many hours a day we talking about."

" I -- it depends on the day -- week. Right now just getting ready to have an indictment that facility -- billionaire -- About 845 today until about three -- four in the afternoon and then tonight. Ghetto. Accent over to my house and go over the game plan for what we're going to do against Philadelphia but I don't say you know. Most -- during the week you know on Wednesday and Thursday which are your busy days you're crying going to be very close to twelve hours."

" What do you like best about being the quarterback in the NFL notes only 567 games in."

" It gains I think that that doesn't change for anybody everybody you know you have to do the practice you have to prepare but the fun part is -- up there and being able to compete. And play the games sovereign that the most."

" How much does it help to be in Atlanta we -- tough transition -- rookie starter if you're in Dallas you'd probably have a stalker. You know even in New York to be following you with cameras into the men's room I mean you wouldn't have. A moment to breathe in Atlanta I guess it's a little different."

" Billions and it's nice and we we've gotten great support and I've been down here but people do give your space which is which is a nice luxury to have."

" You still get a free car and issue be though right."

" Yeah how -- and -- also --"

" You know freedom you know you know for the drinks and -- oh by animal."

" You know I haven't I haven't being I haven't been out drinking too much so. Then. Been a little too busy I would perceive him but you certainly do get recognized -- and you know it's it's not that different I think it's it's getting better and then obviously the city. And the organization with a lot in the past two years which. Try to put extreme on the fans -- the continued to get better people are becoming more passionate about being."

" I got -- fun -- weekend maybe some slow day. If the go to a dog fight."

" And I don't don't stay away from those. Types of this matter with it would appear the culture of the team and the acceptance of the fans has changed and you were at their last year compare but from everywhere you can measure it is that the case the the the impression of this football team by the fans Lana has --"

" you know I can't say that it's don't want any obvious there wasn't here. Last year and the year before but. Since I've been here it's continue to get better and I think that's important obviously you know each week they were in the dome and each time we win a game. The fans start to -- out a little bit more in and the fans become a little louder so it's it's been positive in that respect that that people have. Begin to appreciate some of what we're doing down here."

" If -- to visit Atlanta walk through a smaller walked on the street what I see a lot of number two jerseys Matt."

" If haven't earned this start in the till up there's you know been a bunch of people worm had turned the in the stadium actually saw some good back -- BC this week it is I was."

" Article mean a mean Perot has is on right now yes because he's it's a little big don't have extra small locked up. This governor Matt that was the first approaches war you will he was in the Atlanta arms and zero I -- to Atlanta just to death on Matt okay. You weren't note -- taken ferocious hits it -- there was one at Clemson a couple of years ago shots of the sternum and only missed one play -- how -- that he did an -- retirement point. How how many times. Does that go through your mind in the NFL and when he when he ticket hit you like there's no way -- did not does that happen like once every three pass attempt."

" Except that it happens a lot they've been a bit fast they're big they're strong and and they hit aren't. Contributes. -- Clemson error excuse me down and Tampa against one of the guys from punting game that he put he put it pretty good hit on me early in the season and then. I pick one up in Carolina will be played the Panthers. From Julius Peppers self. They're when when you get hit and induced sometimes they automobile but you've just got to keep -- and."

" And -- what do you think will happen first -- Rogers will stop hearing Brett Favre questions or you'll stop hearing Michael Vick questions."

" That's a compliment to your question I think it's. They obviously would follow it up in in Green -- but there has been doing a great job apparent and I think some of that is starting to -- down and I know that. Down here a lot of the questions and a lot of -- there's. Quieted down as well also. You just gotta keep women and -- kind of does that for a long stretch of time I'm sure we'll hear -- question."

" But like this though you haven't done a conference call with a out of town with the out of town guys once this year and and that's not come up Tuesday is that accurate."

" Yeah I mean if it hasn't really come up to off in. I mean it sure did work when I first got here but that's obviously something that you have to understand when they're coming into it and that question has been coming out less and less."

" What what's the theme for the Falcons and in -- wage here is it the playoffs or -- a U -- is everybody thinking. Lists his get to into the post season."

" I think it's more certain short term and that. You know the way Mike Schmidt has been broken now we we have this season broken down into quarters. You know or crap play after our second quarter right now -- got two more games to go in. And the team -- to win each quarter and actually winning each quarterback -- take care of itself. At the end of the season so right now it's it's more of a shorter so."

" The 34 million dollar bonus to sign a contract. When I first thought was what the heck is he buying in now what was your first purchase. --"

" Yeah I bought a home a bar on bad here I think that's the first the first thing that you gotta do it. That was pretty much -- I mean it happened in anything really really crazy since I've been down here really have been. Pretty busy and and trying to get prepared and and get those plays so there resulted in our something and I like him and down. Trying to enjoy it."

" What what did you turn down would've given offered to. That you turned down like from for doing ads are doing endorsements or or whatever magic marriage proposals."

" Because if there. You know they definitely endorsement stuff that is that you turned down a lot forgot that I turnout which disappoints me but. As soon as I get into the off season around Europe takes some."

" Augusta Augusta Eric -- aren't here aren't worried about it. He -- groundout and for now at a lot -- and the sum up on us our horse that nobody's going to tell you met you broke little me to -- when you were drafted. His goal in life immediately was to abandon the Dennis and Callahan program and be -- he called it called the years we call the bull bull. He just wanna like stay up against south like Kato Kaelin you have one of the things don't do and run errands for you -- dry cleaning and make the arrangements all that sort of stuff and he called yourself all that I knowing that when you're Boston College became and it with tears in his eyes that. Matt changed the number it did -- so thanks a lot -- you broke the little guy's heart. To stay out Cabrera -- fig turtle on on to do you have a -- I got."

" Yeah I got I got that you are more than welcome to come down here."

" What are your program now do you have a you have a guy a break because the guy the guy. I'm not yet and yeah jobless. Premier that can -- He's he can't carry much strike -- he doesn't really of the masters and who knows that you can take three trips 500. -- we appreciate the time continued success down -- good things happen to good people Latin just -- that when it is watching you from a distance and very pleased with what you've been able to do so -- keep up the good work. Thank you got what it worked out what do you think the Eagles there in the top one -- five to sneak in in the top twenty fives. When I think -- twelve and one's a little little overly optimistic yeah."

" Hey if we keep doing what we're don't score important and turn the football over a little bit less I think we've got a chance."

" Illegals he cares about next Sunday when you got Joe on Dunbar coming up when the Owens."

" Thank you still haven't quite sort of be geared I'm not sure which week we've we've played them but I know it's. You know on November and December we played we played them twice."

" that he's got a shot and Florio a commitment to not."

" And I hope not he got he got some very proper term about two weeks ago pretty good. I -- thanks -- talk to down the road okay guys thank you Matt Ryan with the Dallas."
