" In -- never ending attempt as a society. To always find the simplest easiest answered everything. I actually heard a caller in the last twelve hours or -- suggest. That the reason the Red Sox are down three games to one in the ALCS is because they're not throwing enough Tampa bay players. They're too comfortable in the batter's box they're not throwing in and -- guys. And it -- that's what the issue is here. They cut off -- comfortable all right is there really."

" Good let me just talk about that caller they cut off -- after the seventh inning. -- reason and then -- you know it have to be on the roads -- that you left your own devices whether that's a flask. That you smuggle and nor are going somewhere else over the wonderful. Bars around Fenway Park and when your on your way home you get to -- some of those people might have been. And -- drinker -- it it can happen has nothing to do with the growing at the rays are not throwing at the rays -- Bob Bryan has it right. The headline on the column even though he didn't write it is perfect up against a youthful dream team. They're good that's what happened that that's."

" Realized there -- and we talked about yesterday they're young there yet they're aggressive they're well managed they're fundamentally sound. They field they run date pitch they hit. Here's a bulletin for -- run ever hit they're not the Tampa bay devil ray."

" more. Not -- more -- I'll say this now I do encourage people to listen. To Sports Radio WEEI when it's a day game. And now WRKO. When it's a night game like will be out tomorrow night to Dale Arnold joker physically you know very professional broadcast. Big Indians Senna."

" Like. -- In the -- and very professional. In orbit. Entertaining. And -- Frustrating is now when you live in the baseball lottery. Control. He can't control what what happens can't control anyway but at least when you're at the article on TV or double when you're at the park like I'm watching it I'm here. I'm in my favorite -- I'd I've done this work thirty home games what I do this when I wear this. When I saved as the team that team tends to respond to certain spot expand in the middle yet -- room rug. At a key moment I mean how's it isn't. But but but we ought to at at some point we about -- if you don't. If you don't do it you probably use it. So listening. -- you guys. In the first couple. Again. Again and again. Because -- control. -- this is Joe -- tickets for all that. -- Guy. And you know by the time but it -- by the time I park game."

" Yeah I mean a product it was -- nothing it was over. I mean I I didn't think it was necessarily over in the first three nothing. I it the real kick in the growing for the Red Sox was first and third one out. -- at the plate bottom of the second inning double I think it's almost impossible to double him mop the only hit a six of them all yearlong. And and the one thing that he could do to hit into a double play was to hit a sharp one hopper. You -- Mora who's moving toward second base which is exactly what happened. I mean it's the only you're going to double up guy with that kind of speed and it happens to think used the."

" In that situation they're going to get a run at least Iran to it to make it competitive and that system that's the most surprising thing about these two games. At Fenway neither game has been competitive. I'm in the Red Sox last."

" Regain all -- well but don't not elaborate I cannot terms of the runs I mean you are an up. You've given up 98. And thirteen. And 99 and thirteen -- last three games you don't win anything."

" okay first game of the series is two zip great baseball game we all agree. The Red Sox win the second game great game. Were on our way to a classic. American League Championship Series is 98 in extra innings. So we got a two run game and we had a one run game in these two games at Fenway. You're thinking at the very least the Red Sox to win two out of the three games as a people probably thought they come home and sweep up the rays. And it before the series outfit again for the series is that -- Red Sox in five that's not going to happen what could happen. Is raise in five now we've got to Japanese."

" satanism and I sat on the broadcast last night. If John Madden is not unanimous choice for manager of the year there should be growl invest -- won't be here and I think and and was going to be before the series and I think he's done a magnificent job. I think he might be over thinking himself a little he has made the change it is starting pitcher for more. According to ESPN. James Shields will not start now Scott Kazmir will start. I'm one. And and you know he's may be looking at Coleman -- for Atlanta and forget that man and you know from a Red Sox perspective it's perfect you guys you gotta be thrilled life that it gives you half a chance here. But I just think in in in some respects if you John Madden. I wouldn't change my sock RR I wouldn't change anything I wonder."

" If you're Joe Madden is is he looking ahead. Is he thinking as he makin' that mistake even though he would never admit -- he'd be a four to admit this to anybody is he making the mistake of -- looking ahead to the World Series and saying. I want to have James Shields ready let's say we clinch this thing tomorrow because we're just cautioned them. We're gonna win this series in five games want to have everything set up just the way I want it."

" But the problem is they don't move the games up even if LA loses tonight. And the rays win tomorrow night. They don't like say okay look we're going to start this thing Saturday instead they don't start till next week. He's got all the time in the world that he needs they don't move the series up because both teams are done early. They they've got a very strict TV schedule and they're not going to change it. So he doesn't even have to do a fast -- he's not."

" He's not looking ahead to the World Series. It if he's thinking about the home road splits. And the home road splits are significant he's a much better pitchers shields. At at home than he is on the road no doubt."

" But thirty lost -- too by the way he lost at home they pitched very well. All I look I'm not knock and I'm just saying thirty lost at home so I party softened the home road split a -- Madden."

" There's there's one guy there's one pitcher in this series. -- Red Sox haven't had any problems with at all. In Joe Madden is throwing that starter in game five tomorrow SI look I'm glad he's already made the decision. To me it gives the Red Sox and advantage is not the advantage. Because. When we give up thirteen. In nine in consecutive games. I don't I don't think you can look at any one thing you think that gives us the advantage in the series need all the help you can get not just Joe Maddux giving."

" A little help our little I'm surprised. A lot and again they always know more than -- understand okay. May be shields -- element you know what I'm still little stiff and I I'd I can I keep up with something but but maybe shields it's and I don't think I'm ready to go yet you know you give me a couple of extra days I'll be better on Saturday. And if that's the case than met knows Morton idea when he's making -- move that for all the right reasons right. But assuming that he's just doing everything is doing it because. He's the guy who will be outside the box. He'll do things any -- outside the box velocity goes against conventional lot. And he's right more often than not so you know who might say. It is it is look at it from Red Sox perspective I'm happy to."

" Net but I'm wondering why. Also something that drives me crazy you don't have to hear it. On the broadcast heard it briefly yesterday at the park. James Shields won how many games and and -- 2008 season fourteen games. Vicinity and went fourteen right it wasn't when he -- ties in the franchise record by the way. When a couple of his own teammates I mean okay what you what you want fourteen is the most anybody out this is the first time. In race history. That they've been in the playoffs up James Shields is not an old guy he did and I used to pitch for the Minnesota Twins in the Cleveland Indians in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. "

" He spent his career with the race. Chip Carey stopped calling this guy big gains Jane that's not what the hell has he done. To get the nickname big game."

" Today we you know what it is it's the same it's it's like us calling our our Wednesday contest Red Sox second guessed it just sounded good that's all. It sounds good to say big game James 'cause it rhymes that it's got nothing to do with whether or not he's been a big game pitcher not although Indy freeh told us."

" And she'll beat the best pitcher on our -- beat the best big game pitcher on our staff probably the bloodiest pitcher -- that happened to me he's the best pitcher arena."

" Yeah he's not pitching tomorrow and probably the biggest game in franchise history the get a chance to go to the World Series what do story. Game five you get the clinch at Fenway Park the place where Jane shields. Got into a fight that that the defining moment of your season right you don't let those bullies. Those Yankee bullies those north easterners push you around. Whether rays we're here to stay and you get the Clinton warehouse. -- James Shields and amount except you know have -- on the mound yet Scott Kazmir. Give them."

" Look if you're the Red Sox you've got enough issues going on here now occupy yourself you don't have to be thinking about Tampa bay in what they're going to do not do. This is the perfect storm of yeah. Okay. As a staff you're not pitching. As eighteen and -- word again yeah. EYICK. Yeah okay no no where's our promise estimated up to how to -- and -- okay as a as a staff and our pitching. As eighteen you're not hitting. Tampa bay as a staff is pitching great. And there's nobody in the lineup with and hit. I mean you are four for four for of a back. And and you know maybe it'll turn around tomorrow night."

" There's nobody you can avoid. There's nobody you can you can you not look at somebody and saying I can pitch around him. A guy that I'm afraid of to get to hit."

" I am not afraid. There every every guy is swinging the bat in it that has done reasonably well summer it unbelievably well and that guy exists dale. He's batting eighth or ninth. -- and you know Jason Bartlett territory. That means what you are you want to pitch to -- bar. You want to pitch the Carl Crawford. You want to pitch to Carlos Pena you want to -- Evan Longoria BJ Upton looks like Willie Mays. According -- target. In Estes pitching. -- field last night did you see that play. By beating up which one okay he made it. Gently against the wall -- about -- right back up you're just showing off stop. It all I thought a lot. It appears in if he's in right field. At the end of game two for the Red Sox they win again if that's because -- germs grow. From a short right field was not. Like it could have five ops. If BJ Upton is there catching that ball. It's either still going an extra inning game to wear the Red Sox when it pops."

" You know they have got talent. All of the field I heard Jerry make the point today said you know I'm not only does he think that the rays are going to win the World Series this year he said they might win three of the next six. And and you look at them and their their perfectly built. They're young. They've got almost everybody under control I mean the only quote I put my quotation fingers up the only old guy. Who say significant contributor to this team is Carlos Pena he's thirty yeah Troy -- an afterthought at this point. You know they've got young got Eric Hinske on the bench ice not and I -- I've I've on the playoff roster edit the the only sky 120 hard -- for -- who is thirty years old is Carlos Pena. An eagle around the infield anyone Boras young -- and could by the way at second base Bartlett. I I still can't quite figure out why the writers in Tampa thought he was the MVP of that team because I see a whole bunch of other people who do more for me than he does but they seem more than ideal."

" because of that that's the stat that everybody keeps going to and poverty achievements last on the broadcast. They gave up what was it 262. Owners 270 fewer runs in 2008 and he did in 2007. And he had a lot to do with that -- significant amount around. And he had more to do with the quality of the pitchers than it did with the player of the shortstop well -- get an average of Charlotte it short look I'm sure the pitching helped -- that and the revamped bullpen help. And he had a lot to do with it -- I don't know I don't -- at shortstop can make 200 round -- don't think that's possible but. He can take away a lot of selling a lot of foolishness and it -- shortstop I like him somebody's. You know we've not that we have we've seen that here before. From a shortstop. Is no longer. Who's not healthy in of the ball sits on when he throws it away and keep Manning going stuff happen we've seen that public."

" Are you glad he got longer glory at third who is just state stud in the making he's already there. I mean we all rolled -- arise when Tampa bay signed him to the long term contract. Fifteen minutes into his Major League career and -- got a bargain they were right yes you were wrong they knew exactly what they were -- they do with -- had they knew what they were going to yet. They were right you got Crawford in left who's like in -- You got up and who's a converted infielder that's the first series played out in the outfield he still lives that shall any -- great. I'm right field as a bit of a dead spot for the I'll grant you that now they get grossed out there sometimes they get Perez out their last night. I love Navarro behind the plate. I'm on the 24 years old."

" Am I think they got some pieces they were they they got a good staff as as we've said many times got a good manager this feels different. Than previous years I will admit -- 1988. In game three of the 2004 ALCS. That the whole monster at that time was don't get swept don't let the Yankees sweep you. I think Kevin Millar might have been the only person who believed that the Red Sox."

" Anybody who tells all I did a comeback they lie yet yet I'm mark one thought they credible are set and I'm not sure how much you believed it but. He was one of the guys went on the record and said if we win a game. Then we're probably going to win this -- watch out. As we got the pitching -- so -- being accountable to the city was very low at that point this that. Tee and I hit an eight you're down threes that. To the Yankees just a lot of a lot of things going round. 2007. It didn't. That didn't feel as slow. 31 in 7 didn't feel as low as 31. In 2008 because those games at least were competitive if you open a few of the more Tim Wakefield. Either either game. Game three your game four versus the Indians. -- look at your second. He is pitching well. Going along just fine at Jacobs Field. And then all of a sudden it follows -- falls apart. And the Indians ticket pick controlled that game both were competitive game game two was competitive they've lost here an extra innings at home. They go to Cleveland as the first few games. Basically you're on the road for game five. You had the real Josh Beckett had going in game -- game -- got Josh Beckett you're down 31. And as soon as Beckett comes out of that game the Red Sox come out with a victory. And they try to throw up or bring in bring it and his ex girlfriend and it worked. And remember that all the coincident with a huge Indians -- Three to become a back yet Curt Schilling yet -- yet two games at Fenway Park. It was a real. You mentioned it was a real Josh Beckett. In it was also the real Fenway Park yeah what happened at Fenway Park."

" I'll tell you what happened and and not just when they were losing because I understand -- you get. Knocked around early -- you can take the wind out of everything before they throw a pitch in game for. And they're introducing a line ups and the you know that that that moment you have before every series in in in each ball park but what's going on here it was."

" Did give me the amendments that the American League Championship Series this is not some some little. Some little two game with three game set in July. We've seen we've seen football crowds. At Fenway Park of football crowds with a baseball mentality whereas in other cities. I like Cleveland Jacobs who they have the White House but those -- football crowds. In football people -- at a baseball game and a here we got football crowds. Energetic passionate. Who know the hell about baseball they really know the hell out of their baseball. What happened to."

" I know it's a corporate crowd when you get to the playoffs. I know that the prices are high and I know the availability is low and to use Sarah Palin's term you know Joe six pack probably isn't at the ballpark I understand all that. But I was amazed before game three. And how -- the place once and I don't know if Red Sox fans have a certain sense of entitlement at this point based on the successes. I don't know if it's like you know yeah I'll cheer when we get to the games that really matter I don't all. But I I was shocked at how dead it was before game three I understand your -- you know. Nine to one or whatever how excited you going to -- that point I understand all lat. But it was dead before they overthrew pitcher at Fenway and that just surprised me."

" No there there were a lot of people leaving the park last night people who stay all the way through. Final pitch still cheering chanting let's go red -- Sox in the eighth inning out and in the ninth. People on the street last. Your items in which took it. With Delgado and I believe. Davis is like a python. Each blow a yet but let's -- it's a pretty major last week. The good thing for the Red Sox is the one starter in this theories who has looked like a real starter. Is pitching for you tomorrow -- that's aren't got in the series for Tampa bay who hasn't looked like real stars. Is now apparently pitching for them in game. So. If you're able to take it to 32 on paper you gotta go let -- you have no idea what you gonna get you don't know what's going to get from Josh Beckett. -- Josh Beckett even get the ball again. I'm not going to put Jon Lester in that category I think I know what I can get from Jon Lester I didn't think it was if they get all the way to game seven which looks pretty unlikely they would if they reached game seven you know we're going to get from Leicester. Beckett. I don't know if if the injury is just too much or -- he would start."

" You know I wonder. If they did win tomorrow night at Fenway Park if you pitch Leicester in games though it's best of seven. It's Bob -- six. If it was best of six week he would. I don't I don't get it. So now and the reason I ask the reason I ask the question -- several fold but the primary reason is it would be on regular rest and moving him up. -- thrown in game six. If Josh Beckett is hurt like I think he has I don't know that that's just my own opinion an extra day doesn't hurt him at all. I wonder if you if you throw Leicester in games six. And say you know what will throw every -- Terry Francona will throw an inning game seven fiesta. But we gotta get to game seven before that matters in other words if Beckett is what we think hurt and unable to give you much for for innings. Even if you found a way to win game six you'd probably blow through the entire bullpen to deal. I just wonder if if the possibility as if they've won game five. If they would consider throwing Leicester in six on regular rest by."

" I don't think they're doing and I think if you gotta put Josh Beckett out there. For games six or game seven you feel like he's got a chance to win if they if they canceled his that -- see if if if Josh Beckett is moved at all he'll be moved out of the rotation. Well I don't have anybody and -- any type of move for Josh Beckett means he's done for the playoffs. Otherwise he's going to pitch in games."

" 617779850. Toll free 88852 fives early fifty got to -- cell phone. It pound WE pre call for all of you guys.
