" Our fox sports NFL insider Chris Landry is with the sacred site and Michael dale hi guys on today was gone are -- I'm doing great better in the Pittsburgh Steelers at least roster wise yeah what what. You know you know going into that game it was going to be a physical. You know the women and children net -- it was going to be. Just physical on both sides of the ball and then it's it's tough when you start to have. Some injuries like they did and is that going to pick up the pieces they've. They've not been healthy or affected on the offensive line going into the game. Misses this is certainly a costly win and very important and it got one loss. Who would put them and even in a -- but those injuries are going to have a lot of adjustments."

" I Chris I look I understand Tom Brady is is a franchise quarterback and one of the two best quarterbacks in the NFL along with Peyton Manning but. When you look at the Steelers their their whole identity is wrapped up in the running game you don't have Willie Parker and you don't have Rashard Mendenhall. Does this change who they are having completely."

" Well I think what it does it is it -- certainly changes how effective they can be yet to and what they are I think they. Now would want to do more spread in in which he got to understand now I think it's that combination and the offensive line issues. And -- makes him very difficult to create any identity for that -- it would mean about that is. A guy like Heath Miller's release an underrated tight end he's been uses and expect as a full back to help a lot of protection so that limits there. Passing game on the perimeter. In I think -- is capable more so now than say in the first couple years. But when he was a starter. All of being able spread the ball like -- rid of the ball quicker in making big plays in the passing game. To -- offset what you might be lacking in the running what what the protection issues that they have. You know I think that's going to be hard today I -- I think they're going to have to work more than screen gain in used to receivers and tight ends more. As. An extension of the running game or maybe as a substitute the running game there's there's no doubt about it that. It changes. Again how effective I don't know that they can go completely away from what they -- I think there are just going to have to they're not going to double up out of the Mewelde Moore be able to provide -- you know the same type of running game. What Mendenhall or or or parker certainly Walker's as the more. Experienced in reads his blocks a lot better but -- at least at the talent to play in the open field be in a very effective playmaker for."

" Yeah how slots on last night Chris and I said. And maybe this is not as big as the Brady lost for the Patriots but it's pretty close in minutes right there form."

" I'll say this I mean I don't I just I don't like their chances at all now the division is up for grabs but I I do like the team that lost a game last night probably going to win that division. I just I think -- you know again and they did end up having a rash of -- as well put. You look at them in it's and it's going to be very difficult for Pittsburgh it really depends upon. You know. You know other able like Justin would they may be able to do in terms of of getting a running back in and they just don't get that offensive line. They've making a lot of -- particularly in the interior of the offensive line people are just testing him right up the the -- happen. That's the worst place -- a breakdown at tackle. You might have a chance to tip in but if you have -- breakdown right up to the god it's it's not going to be party. Is that and it."

" Total on my part or Kuerten you know better than I do. Have been more changes in starting quarterbacks in the first month of the season and I can ever remember my fourth. You mean."

" Did you mean in terms of just injuries are just just agent and not just injuries timing is he would Kansas city's -- right it's like starting quarterback of the week program but it just seems everywhere coaches are almost the -- they're saying you know what I got to change and ask them. Yes I think there is. He net -- because I think there is of the couple more. It and then we normally see in terms of what I call panic moves changing. You know but because you're not happy with news who's in the starters playing in what not. But I don't think. That is any more from an injury standpoint and remember it's been it's been a -- here for the past couple years where we've had a lot of injuries and starters go down but. I think -- like panic moves in some cases I think the Rams situation lowers. Was an example of that and the Browns haven't haven't done their going there yet but we we know that at least they were at least thinking about it a very close to don't look pretty Quinn this week. Probably glad that they they haven't so."

" You know you know Chris you saw that. Scott Linehan was just fired by the Rams in the Lane Kiffin we talked about this last week Al Davis has been meeting yet another meeting probably order some Chinese red. And a fat cat had talked about the future of blanket that -- the -- just talk about from a from the standpoint of a personnel guy or coach why it's so difficult. To change coaches in the middle of an NFL season and like very few teams do."

" Well I think a couple of things here. When you make it change you certainly have to put down your staff and it changes a little bit of -- dynamic of how you operate now which statistic the Rams. I haven't ever won it kind of felt that you know Scott had lost to new watch employees they've played pretty hard but they've not played really smart they've been some dissension. I think there's you know when there's been a couple panic move one album you know with the quarterback position so. You've got a couple of guys on the staff to get Al Saunders you've got to enhance who's the best -- to -- and both have been head coaches. In the league before Jim more recently well you kind of want to go to different from. Which you can -- more fiery Baghdad it's -- him in May be getting your face in May be. Get a little bit of a spike in performance and effort. In intensity out of the team so that's more team has not Jim. Now has to come off Rick Venturi is going to be the defensive coordinator Jim I'll still be involved with Jim has taken on a different role it's typical. Now I think -- have some positive success. But not a lot because. That the personnel department yet but in terms of Oakland I mean it's it's no different. I think. Right now you're not going to see to me he in the -- situation playing any better but because I'm really surprised. I don't know why you guys feel about that the Raiders. They're not playing with consistency but they're playing. Better -- that regard to the local Little League yet they outplayed Buffalo and they really you know played well especially in that and how -- they didn't win. What you know it's not like Rams you know mean it's it's. They they're not going to be better but we don't know that that that's a situation -- little different Ian -- not talked wonders issues his problems and you know he would have been -- are ready if it would be protected -- just that one off farm you don't want to play in so he's going to make it difficult hope that maybe. And a half that he'll quit you know and in and -- the same but you know at -- at some point you know he's going to probably have to bite the bullet environment that's what he wants to do and you and you know only god knows when that's going to happen."

" For sure the commissioner has has at least paid lip service to an increased emphasis. On player safety. -- over the weekend we saw a New York Jets safety Eric Smith. When -- helmet to helmet hit on Anquan Boldin of the Cardinals he was suspended yesterday for one game and find. 50000 dollars do you think the players are listening one bit to what the commissioner saying."

" I think. A little I don't think enough I'm not I'm not sure what the future is I'm always hesitant to criticize unless of that. A better picture -- my my thoughts initially our. If things. Are you if you're seeing a lot of helmet to helmet you you're seeing a lot of idiom of of which coach -- yet to be typical that the violent game. It's very difficult you know he kidded about the next to an emblem in the army boy eat sometimes you get such a small window. You name -- a certain spot in in Canada I think you have to really study. It's always difficult. To determine intent he can always. You know by film determine what happen. I think the only way injured going after it led the harsher suspensions were. You or you're sitting down at least game and it's probably going to have to be certainly from an intent standpoint that'll determine whether it's two games three games. For gains before really relief flagrant situation you lose. Four games for Ajax. And you lose the player and you hurt the team. Then that it's that to me that's different I mean I think that 15000 dollar fines. Or joked replacement in this that I mean if you want to hear them. Make them sit down and lose their pay check which is significantly more than fifteen grand a game and you're hurt the team in -- in -- that puts a lot of you know peer pressure pitcher letting the team down and in you know it hurts that the pocketbook even more -- that to me that's the only way you can do it. And it's the heart of the more flagrant it is the more you feel -- it was there that the horse the horse of the finds that it's it's as simple as that and I think you need to. In in terms of discipline. You always have to be subject. To some flexibility. They have rules and parameters were not go to belonged barker I mean he always used to have a saying in -- discipline a player. You know he he -- when he needed to know he he needed to have the freedom to say. This is what day is worst and be. So I you don't just because it may be -- they may be perceived as the saying you don't you don't treat every situation in the -- so I think it is. As a league you've got to treat the same way in that. -- hear the parameters. What there's a lot of leeway in -- find year you know as severely as we need to to prevent this from happening you know. Chris we've got two undefeated teams in the NFL neither one of them sexy which one do you which team do you like the -- Well the team that's playing the best on film. Thus far this year and I am not project and it out or just simply film breakdown of the go to him as Tennessee. They have not really been strongly contested in any big games yes Jacksonville played them. You know well enough in week one and seventeen and but they physically beat object -- Jacksonville lost both of their offensive boards. Their defense is playing extremely well against the run it's tough to throw it into the stuff to get explosive plays wanted to. The best defense in the league at limiting explosive plays offensively. They've got a good 12 punch at running back with Johnson and white chart yardage situations like become very effective. And Kerry Collins has done a really good job of managing. Not only big game. -- also situations. Checking into the right play at the right time he he has been fantastic on the ball vertically. And it's given them a new dimension it's also made their their underneath passing game in the running game that much more effective and for you know people want to know it's Kerry Collins -- rest of the way and as Vince Young is not going to be. Back starting with this team on last Karadzic injured in its by necessity. Why -- simply falls flat on his face and his his you know when induced an apple form. Up to speed but there -- not on on note Japanese not want to mess with this. Success they've -- the best I mean Buffalo's been impressive the Giants have been. You know impressive and Washington playing good ball now but. Tennessee has been the most complete team until somebody really challenges in my can't -- anybody are well I'm gonna say that week fifteen or fourteen. But right now --"

" On the set of the fox a post game show on Sunday. Jimmie Johnson criticized Ken -- hunt for keeping the Arizona Cardinals. On the east coast for the back to back games they ended up losing both of them the back to back games Jimmy talked about taking a team out of its comfort zone out of its routine. Disrupting the normal flow of things while Bill Belichick and his Patriots are leaving Friday. For their game in San Francisco they will practice in San Jose for the week. Then played a game in San Diego my guess is -- won't be as harsh in his criticism that appellate Jack is he wasn't wasn't hunt."

" Yeah I think it's it's always easy to present my thing though is if you're gonna do it do it. Criticized before I mean you know wait and -- in the -- Lawson and -- as a as a crutch I think it's you've got to know UT and and I think you have to know. In India and I think to half that that's something that's more kind of personal but to deal with the NC guys how do you feel about. Do you feel like it would be better in an -- got to make a decision based on that my eight. Feeling has always been -- the -- today that you can have. You know. I think it's better to be in a home environment. But you know you feel like playing out on the you know put the other opposite goals is better fortieth that you do listen. I think it's -- it's an awful excuse. Look at what the Saints went through when they were dislocated a couple of years ago on -- Anderson have a choice and they were there were -- and away from Ohman were playing essentially road games every week. You -- I think it's a -- you you've got to focus and sometimes you feel you're team is better you know will stay away. And will will focus and will will get over will. You know we're we're better off not going back which is formula that way than that you do it but I think the criticism ought to fumble forehand. Rather than just wait for the results well you know you see they should've done it the other way."

" Well -- with that said let's stick with -- Jimmie Johnson in the pregame show on fox. He made an appeal an open letter so to speak to the Detroit Lions to go out. And hire Scott pioli he said paced pioli whatever you need to pan am and get that operation straighten out one do you agree with them into. You think there's any chance that Scott pioli would leave New England for Detroit."

" Well I don't know if we do know what degree I love -- or what's that what's Scots not the reason for the personnel success in New England. Belichick is Scott is that bad it just Campbell's the paperwork and does that he's not a great personality that I mean that's not his strike. Money people have a misperception that he's very close with bill always has been from his very young agent bill. He's always been very protective bubble but he's he's not picky guy he would struggle as a GM if he had to. Do it all himself he needs Bill Belichick within because bill makes all the personnel decisions and."

" Well let me let me out of it and -- rep for a second because I I was in Cleveland when Bill Belichick was in charge of personnel and I wasn't so hot there. What what makes you think that he would the pioli was struck out about it."

" How was in Cleveland two and I mean did but again I mean Scott is not a really good personnel guy that's that's basically. And -- war with them and he's a really good guy he's very organized. But he's again he's he's a he's a bad -- handles the paperwork bills of religion of I waiter I'll always has been. The mistakes that they -- in Cleveland. And again we were were part of it were were really involved they had a lot to do with Michael Lombardi who was very involved. In one of the reasons why bill changes philosophy. Is bill -- more involved bills I've been in draft meetings with bill I've been in film session with bill. Bills one of the best personnel -- around that's why they're successful it's Scott pioli left New England would be five. Yes if Scott went to another organization. I don't -- Scott had the success and I CN -- you know pointers. Mystic to bring a Bill Belichick had with them he wouldn't have the success I'd at all that the with the Lions should do is go out. Right now in car Ron wolf. And insult and do what Bill Parcells did in Miami. And and let Ron assessed the situation go to practice everyday. And make that determination. All all -- who would be a good fit. Anybody on the staff would be a good fit and go from there but I think you need to have a strong football guy that -- of the football operations."

" I just can't get over. Antonio Langham and Tommy Arnelle Derrick Alexander and great -- but not what you explained it and that was that was that Mike Lombardi do and."

" A lot of it was but again you on to have to understand that you know Scott hasn't made any of the personnel decisions and doing. --"

" Well how what and maybe you can explain this to us how can how can ballots -- based -- involved in the game plan. And also. He. I mean it doesn't if you see you you know the great players it doesn't in Ohio State."

" He doesn't he doesn't although scouts on the Tommy to meet trough in the final by Calhoun Aaron Lana but the other key guys on the draft they've always been. -- it is trained -- scouts. That's how big bills hire bill hired all the scouts. -- finals. I mean you know Scott goes ahead and and context the dances -- it is -- to do this it would -- you know what kind of stuff but. But all the scouts are trained by bill and that's the way that's what it was in Cleveland all of those guys line -- in and then Tommy to meet up all those guys have in the end. In and around that operations on the ballot and all of that is done rubella. So the training is there therefore are you looked at players and you evaluate where. I do. I do a lot of consulting work normally. And answer the I mean did did that there's really not that the -- personnel decisions. They're not the real big -- prevail and you know and Scott disorganized."

" Chris I was appreciate time we'll talk to next week -- fantastic care -- things."
