Terrel Suggs downright quiet this week. Heading into patriots. And ravens speak -- patriots ravens it's a big one on Sunday afternoon part of a big NFL weekend. I'm Peter King joins us he does every single week of the -- talk about a conversation with Peter King is sponsored by the players insurance town fair tire. And by our friends at Toyota of Nashua. Week sixteen Peter happy holidays Merry Christmas to you and yours. So I appreciate very very. We're doing good we spent a lot of time here today Peter talking about this. This this game and Chris -- wrote about yesterday in the globe that he talked about the patriots and ravens being an under rated it. Rivalry and I feel like as a patriots fan. All the games of the regular season Peter and the post season this has become. In the last 45 years would not only the patriots biggest rival apple one of the really good robberies in the national football. Yeah and I think what happened. You know because rivalries basically collapsed as long scenes are really good. And then you know right now you look at these scenes in their consistently. Good and it especially. Since John Harbaugh arrived at Baltimore. That. Here -- the search in Orleans -- No one could have predicted how good. -- was going to be and what an incredible. Has he was going to be for the patriots. But you know it is just the regular season obviously the post season. Now they've been really a difficult scene for the patriots the -- -- patriots match up against. Yeah I was with -- Peyton Manning earlier this week at the sportsman of the year thing out in Denver and then he was talking we're talking about Ray Lewis. And you know it is the last time he played in the last year when the ravens beat him and that tremendous upset out in Denver. And the -- you know. It's one of those things where you wanna remember. Those type games and you wanna really remember those paper every especially when the -- believes. Because your -- -- to get your American plate and again. And I think in a situation like they're even though people located -- rookies catering outlets that. You also really should appreciate. How much fun it is to have arrival. That really really good. And the other met six times and are both the coach I think you're 33. In those six and it's one of those genes that especially because the patriots really haven't had that -- division. There hasn't been like -- more it spur rivalry me you -- jets are like that but only. No because -- Rex and it gets kind of make it that way in the theories have really any sense that. -- -- -- somebody in the AFC east right now that legitimately challenges the patriots but the ravens should serve so that deal in the AFC right now. Yep Peter and I think you re look at the jets they have I think what Baltimore possessions you know and because of -- I don't think that there really intimidated. It's just admit it it all the talent the Baltimore has I think that that we're not intimidated maybe because the success that they have had. Against the patriots in big games but is it personnel is that the way they attack the physical play the front seven. Is -- something personnel wise that is a good matchup for the patriots. Yeah I it -- I think they're a really really good point and I think that. What has happened over the years is that they have been able to be really physical and be able to run the ball very well year it's such strange year. -- rate because they get simply cannot run the ball as well as they have been able to sell in the past. And you know in the past. You know -- obviously -- in the paltry. You know rewrites a lot. And they're gonna basically let him control a lot of these games. And I think a couple things at -- difference this year. I -- recently they've been running the ball better. You know without any question but. I do think in general that Matt -- -- hurt them. -- -- has not played nearly as well. Last year toward the end of the year they got really good place solid play left tackle Bryant any. They ended up having to trade Eugene Monroe because we in plain as well they -- This year so. Look it you know they're going to be they're better in the running game now than they work two months ago. But still. You know that's that's not gonna be quite the edge. That the ravens have had on the patriots in the past. We're talking to Peter King the Monday Morning Quarterback in Sports Illustrated would Denver's loss Thursday Peter for awhile I think -- was right he kept calling the AFC. Denver and everybody else I feel like now it's sort of even with a PED suspensions it's Seattle and everybody else in the National Football League do you feel that way about the playoffs couple weeks before we start this thing. Yeah I did it when I did my A rankings this week in my column I had Seattle number one and and -- that right. Massive line of demarcation. And then number two at saint -- since they'll and then after I don't know who. I mean it's all I just. He you know everybody else -- you -- they'd be you know four weeks ago the -- eager it doesn't matter what happened four weeks ago. Things change so quickly in the NFL and you can't rely. On things that happened four weeks of the year so pale I think. That one of the things that I look at this year. You know as much as any other year in recent memory is who's gonna be playing well week 151617. You know so now obviously I look at the -- like the Denver Broncos. And I say they they very well at all these records. -- talking about for points scored there in everything the fact is. They're gonna play teams that are really familiar with them in the playoffs and San Diego was one of those -- market place in the eagle. In Diego's one of those things that's really familiar with -- knows how to play him. And basically really shut them down. Last week so. I don't think there's eighteen that you can look at. In the market -- January right now in the AFC agrees saying I can rely on them you know play a certain point it's. Going to be absolutely wide open which is why I think it's a good year for it if you're thinking that the patriots might. Come out of nowhere erred -- not -- put. More virtually even a particular year this would be great year for it because clearly. You know you're at the point where they've lost so many. Who -- on both sides of the ball. He's saying well you know -- vote for next year but not this year because. I don't think there's anybody really to be creativity -- city. Peter as you look at the National Football League this week and some of the national news we thought we talked to Matt Chatham who played -- public -- the guys -- only get it seems like when dean bland Dino. Calls a punter or a kicker defenseless throughout the play that caught a lot of people by surprise what's been the reaction of the guys that share the you've talked this week. Look I mean I think being blamed -- highly respected guy and look. I think Mike Florio wrote that I'm pro football talk this week he's absolutely right. You know there're some rules. That you're not standard comprehend -- really. Figure out the full scope of what they mean. Until. Something. You know something major happens like in that particular play you say we don't want that late in the game take. But then you'd hear the explanation of it from -- -- that they're under the current Europe play. It's a ridiculous statement to make in my opinion I know you're spending liberal book. But I think it's ridiculous statements may just speak. You know it up harder and tackle a ball carrier there and you can't tell me throughout the play that he's defenseless player and yet be -- First of all that's that's yes that's not logical and I think the second part of that is. You know how it is eighty. Council later in the open field. Suppose -- do know that he's supposed to look at a number. Of a punter. And it's he's supposed to say all of a sudden well it he has been number XY and Z. You know that it stayed below one unit reporter kidnapped let's say our. Well I mean how do you know whether or the hotter or are you know whether that's a receiver. Wearing the number eleven or whatever it is I think. The one thing about. The rules interpretation. Pictures scene right now is that they are so variable. And they change so often. That I think in the postseason. Perhaps the thing done about the wording of that because -- -- when they announce it at the Super Bowl in New York I think everybody at saint being a logistic nightmare right travel. People coming in the celebration leading up to it but I was convinced that whether it was ten inches twelve inches four inches no snowed out they play that game on Sunday. Now I think of postponing -- a day to possibly a week that creates even more of a nightmare scenario what. What are your thoughts on what that possibly moving the Super Bowl. Well Lou the only way they're gonna move the Super Bowl is if something. You know is it here's. Eighteen inches of snow that morning and people just can't get there that's the only way they're gonna move her over twelve inches or so -- that we choose. That's a once a weaker event and look. I think it's critical to anybody about. Having the Super Bowl and -- the I think it's. I lived there for nineteen years I think it's utterly absolutely. Preposterous. It's one thing to say. Let the weather chips fall where they may. In January land it be you know land and went home field is earned. But you know there should not be. And edit or a difference because of letters to the Super Bowl championship regain should not -- of the sport should not be excited. Based on the you know let's say if if -- say apartheid you know Miami. Whatever tiny Denver super bright can't be it but I mean. I'm all big mean you don't -- You've got you've got to basically say. That if the weather is a factor in who wins and loses seen. -- the Super Bowl level I think there's something wrong or your view I don't think it's supposed to be fairway and the one other factor in all artists. I think is that people are forgetting. You forgetting the 80000 people -- however many who work at it yet. They'd be -- at a Super Bowl let's think about the logistics of an editor who verbal. Game starts at 6:30 eastern time. It's Super Bowl you're basically because of her central. Security nightmare because everybody here because metal detectors. You know everybody's got to be correct. You know in Dallas it took two hours and sixteen minute two hour and a half. Her people to get her security. It was a total nightmare either gonna last -- 1030. So with a long -- time. So basically you're sitting out in the open. At the meadowlands for serving our. I mean it's it's just. -- pragmatically. It's a ridiculous thing that they're asking people here pierce spent 3500 dollar on the ticket and you're gonna its leader on for several hours. And I grant you that that not happen. It may be beautiful day it might be 42 Ernie. Locally and then don't reciprocate that night when the sun goes there I don't know nobody knows but the fact is. That the potential for disaster there. Peter great stuff is always enjoy a week's sixteen enjoy the holidays and Christmas this week -- look for a talk and he soon. Right here -- -- -- the Monday Morning Quarterback and SI joining us here. On the AT&T -- -- conversation with Peter is sponsored by complaints insurance by town fair tire and buy toy Yoder of Nashua. I at that time you restart -- look back at some of the big moments of some huge sports moments your Bruins got to the Stanley Cup final with -- we're headed to a game seven that did not happen your Red Sox. Won a World Series but it was a moment at the finish line of the Boston Marathon that. Was the biggest moment of sports around here may be in the entire country we'll talk about that next.
