Blueprint for success but we get into a Micah. -- read you something. You may read this before. My budget Regis on the works -- I like reading like story Paloma computers given me issues almost. I would love to read this to you once available on your that's -- -- was -- retirement -- let me read are you ready for me to read to you our story -- you taught me a great number of things -- this was written. -- did you taught me about the meaning of loyalty supporting me through thick and in your compare herbal togetherness is a fan based on the about the importance of teamwork. Your relationship with -- each other and with me -- about the concept of community. And the necessity of giving back to back community year unwavering support top -- perspective that is made me realize how fortunate I am to play a game I dearly love. And yes he taught me about shout -- and that Larry -- certainly happy to be much better than Magic Johnson ever watch that is one paragraph. Taken from. 01234. Or five that's one paragraph out of five that was in a Boston Globe advertisement taken out by an athlete in order to thank the people of Boston upon his moving on to go to another team. You know wrote. Yes it was drew let's move that it was Drew Bledsoe when he -- the patriots. And that's one of and the whole thing as well done really well very well -- it's from the heart he may have had help doing it. But it is nice it's from the heart and for a guy that meant so much to the people Boston. And New England in general for helping to turn around a franchise the way he did it. And knowing the way the whole thing indeed where there could have been bitterness and probably even was bitterness certainly there was in the locker room. What an incredibly classy way to go out it was meaningful and it and it and I think it just it it struck a court. Contrast that with this. Red Sox Nation. Two world championships in seven years of great memories to the fans of New England teammates and the many friendships made thank you Jacoby. I'm not saying you gotta go walk out of your mind to go right the longest most meaningful heartfelt -- anyone's ever read it. But does anybody think that Jacoby Ellsbury had a big part of that. Well he's from he's from the Pacific northwest that you mentioned poets. He said he had -- better help them out with -- and how he will publish it and Chris Cornell help them out -- -- -- -- forty love help him a couple of things going on one when we Drew Bledsoe wrote is that that is his full page. That was. And he he was traded in 2002. So twelve years ago it still had meaning. It was something that hadn't been done many times it was like usual and it was appropriate for a Drew Bledsoe twelve years later. -- nearly twelve years later here. We have Jacoby Ellsbury. It's been done before. It it's kind of it becomes. It's almost as that the PR guy and said hey. This has been done a few times this is what you can do it to brighter yourselves to the Boston fans but this is not appropriate for Jacoby Ellsbury. This is not him right -- -- -- -- and he he was not a guy who connected with the right that's the thing anyway that's a Boston fan base that's not him. That was my point right from the beginning which was when you and I talked about this this morning somebody just texted me and said hey Jacoby Ellsbury took got a front page Aaron you know full page on the globe. In my immediate reaction was what a joke. Why would Jacoby Ellsbury take data from a full page ad in the globe for whole for the fans that he had very little connection with. For for seven years in Boston yeah I want a couple of championships but I don't think people or wherever ever identified him as the face of the franchise is somebody that they couldn't live without and in fact what he laughed there was no hand -- That Red Sox Nation collectively said. -- I Jacoby got a great offer seal later Drew Bledsoe turned around the patriots and wrote this beautifully me please know that you made a profound difference in my life. And the way I will live it won't excited about my future -- buffalo I want miscue. Thank you for all three all mean to thank you for all you mean to me I wish you all the very best very truly mean it was a connection and the end of what a -- year or -- love affair that they culminated in in this. Jacoby Ellsbury. Is nothing. It is just adopt policies nothing I -- god. It just seems it it it seems like something that. You know Scott Boras is assistant or the assistant to the assistant said. This is what we should do this this will make -- got to buy classy. This has got to make -- the classy and it is very very hollow very new money now you say that there were some indifference. From people. When Kobe -- huge amount of it -- if you are one of those about and I doubt it. If you agree with -- if you're one of those in different people I have an exercise for. What you go to public to go to FaceBook dot com slash W the FaceBook dot com slash WEEI there's a picture of Jacoby Ellsbury there in his new uniform. Clean shaven. The Yankee way.
