Eyebrows today among patriot fans who don't -- -- that they had a couple of physical team. And might give me -- call as parts of text message I've got a preview at some phone calls that are now there's talk -- -- -- lose at all apparently not. You know there's a theme of teams -- lately stuff. But come on big game big game out here its ability bigger game for Carolina and the voice of the Carolina Panthers -- -- and nice up the joint as we get set -- huge one tonight in Carolina -- it's not Lou here in Boston power you. Doing good appreciate you guys have me on I am. All you can do in the game like this is try to win your individual battles that tell tell associate so lack were common for. But at the I think it's a battle to detect the value guys a win quite frankly. If it it terms of this game mic with Tom Sorensen columnists and Carolina was on this morning with our morning show and really -- this game up as a as they gain that means a lot for the Carolinas -- a lot for Charlize a lot for the fan base -- do you agree. With Thomas is more about just a football game and has some relevancy aspect to it tonight on and a football. Now love comedies -- -- terrific but. I don't think too much can be made out of -- I think just all the surfaced. It's a huge game at the game means a lot for both -- it is the -- champion award -- to the national stage than New England Patriots have. That that's psychological partners that can only be forged with years and years of grace under pressure a lot of wins the Panthers are trying to get. As many teams are trying to get what New England got. But I think that if the Panthers don't win this game then we're not going shut it down I mean it would. The Panthers do have a little bit of cushion with a six and three -- we don't want to lose but if you do. You did all the goals that you set for yourself pre season are still are still right there. Yes Eumig I agree with you but it. Last week's game against San Fran I mean we we just think it's Monday night and it's and it's Tom Brady and patriots at. This all of a sudden is a big game last week was that the big game we go to San Francisco the rest of the get a couple big games with New Orleans is well. I think that this game tonight with a win or lose. Still showed the playoff relevance team I think in the Gannett. Go to Vegas New Orleans so you know I think it's more of getting the feel back I think it's already there for Carolina the Guinea the -- and approve it -- the point. I agree we do programming you know a couple months ago if you got the public -- Eric -- upgraded to first class on the bandwagon because there are a lot of seats. That -- people have bought tickets for. But now it's just jammed upn and I think if if the Panthers. And I think it's important for for Carolina. That they're not just. Do what they Pittsburgh enemy can't have Brady coming in here -- -- 55 on -- -- -- 432 and four touchdowns no picks. But I think against the defense but the predator good that this -- not. That this recent five game win streak has not been done with any kind of slide and other teams have been gathered with injuries there's been some of that but for the most part this they assault he'd -- This is a personal physical offense. And special teams especially with Ted -- in the return game are much improved. What's the campus -- -- and is joining us let's talk about the defense first second is it's as simple as. Blue key equally being drafted and now emerging as one of the -- to climb back in the league has cemented this defense was are different turning point. -- put them now on the conversation as you know as one of the best defense is not just the SE but the entire national football. I -- go look deeper now Mike I think Lucas then. Mean he's been unreal quarterback in the defense and and just with -- having that he's got savvy -- -- we don't use a lot now on I'm 55 years old little look now. How you how old you guys are -- You know back and not a kid you've heard people talk about it -- and -- much more now it's it seems to be rare that a young player will. Will skate not to do the talk but to where the puck is going to be I'll I'll Wayne Gretzky. Don't throw the northeastern -- injury free got. But equally that god but our coaches would tell you that it's bigger. And deeper than that that is the and other backers in the front to back to fly around and do what they're doing. Offensively -- -- of this before a vote -- is often try to take away the biggest weapon. And attacked a team that point -- on the not comfortable with the were saying the biggest weapon might just be the running game. For Carolina and make him students in their pocket and beat -- but can they win that game if that happens the attempt -- That a lot of sentiment I think you would you do your equation would start with with that you've got to take away those Jack camera back. Make sure that Tolbert DeAngelo Williams Jonathan Stewart don't just ram it right down your throat editor are good at that and are good at when he. The clock it on the possession make it first down the that they can't still slip in the field located but. So I think you're right on -- Lou but I think that. What maybe not widely understood about Cam Newton if he can't make plays from the pocket is not justice Langer. There's a great athlete great runner he's working very hard as early in motion has ball geometry is much better he can hold the ball up -- keep I have to release is quicker. -- think if if the patriots do go that way. It doesn't make it -- not winnable game for Carolina. -- he came on the CD Cam Newton -- and -- just easier to take the NFL by storm with this great rookie year. I feel like maybe he took a step backwards slasher to the point where he was almost out of the conversation the way that Russell Wilson played. The way RG three played into what human league and it was OK here's this new group of guys Colin -- predict. And then this year is got a quarterback right 690 more touchdowns interceptions and he's able on the football what's the biggest difference your mind between the Cam Newton is seen now. And the Cam Newton who was set the league on fire as a rookie. Think the best thing that could happen to Mike is what you said I think that the rise to prominence of of those quarterback Andrew Luck RG three Colin -- predict. Has made Cam Newton panel last week news and that enables -- to work harder to concentrate more on on field stuff leveled off field. I think he is more maturity seems more comfortable now the toughest thing to make Cam Newton. I think is third in three or less because because of his singular ability to run the ball running outside rounded up the middle quarterback draw the quarterback dark. As well as what he can do in the passing game the read option. I think murdered three or less well all one when all heck is breaking loose camp's ability to keep the chains moving sets him apart. Romeo provable wrong and I know he brought Rivera I know early years they went for a fourth down this is -- he never really believed in defensive minded kind of guy but. Five for seven now in the year we get to see a fourth down attempt here tonight. Maybe river -- around a little bit distressing that. It is DNA he's a little more of a risk manager -- is a risk taker but. You know the football is played by you know -- played by alpha male aggressive cats that. That believe stride that Lee had narrowed ability and in their -- -- they wanna go for if it's not if we gamble of not unreasonable. So I think that the whole team has been on board with this and you know why not me not to be Gil Brandt. Bill Belichick will be great minds ever to figure out that if you got this good at defense. Roll the -- a few times on offense. You gotta help me out the Ted Ginn situation though because as a guy wanted to separate Cisco. And in three years there are fewer receiving yards -- that he has already this year. Off for the Carolina Panthers -- which he was seen as sort of a boss a pretty high round pick for the dolphins you looked down and he's been a big part of the receiving court -- a big plays. They'll feel what is been the difference of how they used him not just of special dividend that passing game it's made him so successful this year. You probably have to separate -- ago they'd be better Stewart's. Then then that I could ever be on answered this question all I can tell you from the time he first got. To the Panthers there's a sentiment among our scouting coaching staff of what. That they let this guy got we got that you know our club now. Because he can -- -- he may not say -- natural -- of the ball. In his Ralph's either beautiful -- threw the ball on punting kick off the track the ball like Willie Mays. But he catches enough of them and he may -- catches this year. Speed that he got caught a candidate have to adjust that. Sort of the physics -- and the calculation -- this the rose. And we have not had around here felt we've not had a return man that other teams about the scheme four cents. The early 2000 but to have that it just keep you up every time that ball is punted it gives you hope that it's going to be a big like. Well the fans can use it after a big Belmont when a North Carolina now part of town college basketball yesterday. The big one for Carolina -- PR great call on this game tonight appreciate taken a few minutes and given us a behind the scenes. I really enjoy you got on this and appreciate the good coverage you -- to sport so not part of the world. Kicks all access tonight when he seemed. I'm going to it's not hard Mick mix and voice of the Carolina Panthers side joining us mud and Lou -- I really do little run. -- --
