Yeah that. All like it. I like to welcome back to the big show rob Bradford Sheppard Michael -- and house right now we'll talk to a guy who many people have been talking about. For a long time resign with the Red Sox in the offseason. People are wondering if you'll be ready for opening day David Ortiz a designated hitter of the Red Sox on the line David was going moment. They would -- -- -- roar one after the momentum -- lies. An acute ligament of this shall. And the in the world right now so congratulations. Well I guess yeah I'll I really don't. -- You're doing this for rob slide please XY -- interest is -- -- -- I usually don't you don't need to explain anything that I think. That the premier. Electable but it would only go up. I didn't have said it drew Weaver talking about to a lot and it got it got all of our attention win. You work running at the beginning of spring training that this -- we have to take longer than you expected for the Achilles and if so what did you expect. While April in a row. And they do -- -- in a recent. He blossoms any injuries have a lot to do -- blood flow. So. Doubt -- party. And get them both well so it is rather than any other. It's the good news -- and -- And the bases yesterday. I'm a ball on the break again a little bit. This day it was a really good days. It was the most unpredictable factor than what I did yesterday. If you divisional normally. It was sort. 56 after. -- -- in we have them but it didn't happen like refused to go up. It was better. They command. We can do. So. Or -- the same page. And the doctors and it was an injury to. David how worried were you the other day -- it was. Sunday. When I wouldn't you said he didn't feel that great but day indirect who we all know around here is a guy's fixing Larry Bird. Who's on the staff they're now becoming easier mind how worried were you that day. Well I -- you know quote I was Atlanta Braves line. What's been going like I did it today. And I got to sort out the worse but. Dan. And he he'd be right I think because he say that part of it. Three that are so far all of their injuries are an we recognized as you -- think that you haven't done in the past six months. So. He pretty much dictate it within forty and he told me like that because that's just part of the process. There are you feeling -- additional pressure of trying to get back. By opening days if for the fans are I mean just because -- the way last season you know went down and is that a part of this at all or you just aptly -- to come back into you feel you're you're you know close to 1%. Well I definitely be in it -- way. I got to be Smart about it I don't wanna come in and play a week and then go back -- the deals proposed to. You know so. The Parkersburg. Trying to manage pretend. Right so we it was -- format. We would have -- good communication. And everything is normally respect. I'll just say imagine -- you mentioned the communication -- in this -- some change and some of the the medical staff the training staff. How do you like the changes the spark. Well. Our group. The the it's very much approach everything in. Being on the same page -- should do -- here. That. Sometimes it took longer the same thing you know you -- a -- of and all you heard different things from. But two of them that's the case here. Which is good. A test period of we've been working with a whole lot season. And be very much as I can bang and and -- There was things I was wondering about his you would dog the Dominican at the -- the winner bit because of the warm weather obviously helps the Achilles and you can be playing these games coming up. What are you a little worried when you hit New York because obviously he's gonna get cold again Hart do you expect that you might have take some time off because of that to the weather. Well I really have -- in. -- -- -- -- -- That are in the winter than. Or over the course of the book so I knew -- I. It's remarked I normally do that I can also a couple of times. When the team needs me out there just to. Make sure everything is going well. But. That sort of mean when I was going to be. -- Doctor deemed that is where we direct -- you have sort of replaced. And I was very much work what do. And can down there to make sure those in the woodlands. -- what you expected. And it was due to a much about sort of situation. But it will conduct the comeback and lost on. It's you know. Good to mature the way we we approached and got the right word. David -- said that the other day also of that -- in December and January I think you. Admitted to being pretty nervous about how everything was gone can you just talk a little bit about how nervous you work. Yeah I. I see I was feeling you know the same thing. And it and I wasn't able to give -- any count Judea. We got a memoir. And it's a picture of my cute and and -- -- earned a love for what I got and you and they won but I haven't December. And but I don't maybe should've let him because I can look Rodney. What you -- -- -- a look at that when I first got hurt. And now. Dot com and some thought -- -- like okay I'm not the -- be afraid though one play at our running. Fare airline but I bet. This'll vote if but. What -- Iran. And that start during the period and forward and also vote lead and looked like I was gone greatly. -- this the important thing. So critical -- Doug Davis that you're gonna Boston fewest games you've played it in your career as a member of the Red Sox is ninety. How come into play more than ninety games this year. Always do. But I. Doesn't send the fewest you've do you play it was last year that was ninety when he got hurt comedy comedy and and a better way of asking is how many games you expect you'll play this year. Well it's very hard for -- Was my goal in common. But where -- aren't who the right thing right now and and make sure in the -- for the cities and -- are going to be in all of them I don't let it -- well. Old you don't want to get on that they definitely be at it and -- -- beat up on the line. A couple of -- you though I'm sitting on the stand up and -- -- it's hard to sit on the present who. The two on the positive note that the -- it because the -- so. I. A burden for him I don't have like like a number of games. But I would make could be in there -- American role in. Portland injuries happen not much in the world body's got to deal. Did you did you think did you think that your injury having it happen in a contract year for you. It ever cross your mind that the Red Sox word to use that against you -- that -- that your injury would affect. Your contract talks with them and they easily could come back there a way to win a game we'll wait and see and see how you recover from the injury did you ever that ever cross your mind. Well when you're you're in there and and partner. Doctors dictate. What kind of iron -- probably do you. And my cage. A little more aware about anything -- he's in. And will be which Brandon Jenkins bought my concert. I know that I don't want to not come back and play. And I guess it was a good situation. Because. That didn't notice. How much in the -- here so. You know on the mark it was going to be because both of them and -- -- And you know -- promote Internet pager here so. -- I think. It it is terrible when you look at the great at a court. The some sort of out of it but obviously abrasive. There to get a sense that this team is more focused at this at this particular time right now in camp as opposed to last year at this time. Yeah I wouldn't have been pretty cute I think. And it's this -- -- time and then I would. Where -- And they were in regard Baylor in the very comfortable so. Approaching things. And but because children out who can. Which is something that would make him the practically your run here. David the first day you get to QB said you were 90% what would you say your art right now. It was from the first day get to camp I think you said you were felt about 90%. What do you think you are right now. Blow from. Record let your -- then it is. They've been positive. And in. I'm the kind of person but I like to book myself. Very much more than that now so. Burton and I and it's what is when you get to know you're so yeah. Good at all confident you can be. And I'm pitchers that they seem to -- that level. Right now I burned the bases. I've been able to -- sense that I wasn't able to. I'm not on the sensitive. I was playing right now. Look -- You know the last test yet to pass before you play. You did you have to be a media member in a race. Or. A ROC which ruined it. On how to -- a what do what do what do you know what -- what do you think you're gonna play what do what do you think -- play music you play but in the week. Hopefully everything goes well yeah I think those well obviously I'm loving what cubicle as. Several months. In they're not on your club frustration. You know about a month of the governor and and it would have been good line on my thanks Walsh. Both. I can't wait to be improved birdie and that whoever right. -- David. Thanks for taking that time and we will let. Bradford wife -- that you didn't that you. You -- -- -- -- Guys. Aren't. Is David Ortiz is joining us from Fort Myers and London by it is a picture. David Ortiz offense I think well hey David thanks. -- David. Doing this for Bradford. -- story there. Do anything for you guys. My wife's motto. -- he told a story about -- must -- for maybe -- five. When his wife Tiffany welcome opening with -- -- -- with the with the twins about going wake him up and do ridiculous shots in the parking lot of you're thirty more years like zero outside one -- it was a maxed at historic. -- we went his first packer -- service is absolutely stare at someone capita cap. Now you know I don't know about that it is like you know I'm not used to the weather. Now I listen I told you good batter in different on the -- machine it's all in place so couple people back to backs had a stupid question Michael when I asked him. How many games. He expects to play or how many games he can't play. Because that's the only question for me if that's a stupid question are now being -- bay Buccaneers asked the better. But the one thing I wanna know is. Is David Ortiz who played ninety games last year is David Ortiz capable of playing. Ninety. Is he capable of playing 105. He said he wants to be careful we still not 100%. Is it 1151. To me I think that's the question that everybody. You need him to play -- thirty. They legitimately need him to play iron thirty and we didn't. The we've talked about this before the importance of Dave her -- importance of Mike Napoli in the middle of that order is huge. And so if he does play ninety games UC what happened would have happened last year. At what what do you think would have well I'll ask you this question I'll ask you a contract. David Ortiz contract question. In a couple of minutes so remind me just in case I forget in two minutes.
