terrific job and a it's the consistency more than anything from the American League in the NHL systems. How we coach -- it's. How we have it at the back pressure from the forward you know you want to win games in the American League you wanna be a profitable organization. For your job is to develop your job is to help Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup or certainly compete for the Stanley Cup and the way you do that is. You develop players and you want leading to be part of that environment because they're

coach Claude Julien. Actresses did you wanted to trade boy chuck for Corey Perry yeah. At one point or title what would it take a -- exactly what what was the -- this was a long time or type about and this was when. You know you didn't know whether they're going to be able to keep everybody they were handing out the contracts in the big money contracts and the question became you know -- they have to trade a guy like Corey Perry . And I said you know the package that it would take to land a guy like Perry would start with a guy like boy chuck and it would it would include up a top line forward. And I said yeah I absolutely do great. Would I trade boy chuck is part of a package for -- while assuming the package to include Patrice Bergeron and Tuukka Rask yes. Right I mean I love Johnny boy track. Yeah this is in its. It went by Corey Perry -- yes I would I would do that it's all accuracy out that you wanted counted all by -- -- make it

  4. Dale Arnold and DJ Bean Discuss Claude vs Tortorella, Tyler Seguin and more About Bruins/Rangers

    Audio

    Sun, 19 May 2013

Dale and DJ get into the two coaches and their polar opposite styles and demeanor. Both teams play a similar style, but the coaches certainly convey their messages in a different way. Dale isn't buying the Tortorella hype and thinks he's a little overrated. DJ thinks he's a good coach, but isn't a fan of anti-media stance. The guys also talk about Jagr and how he has not lived up to the hype. They weren't expecting him to light it up or be the savior, but DJ says he wasn't prepared for just how slow the aging veteran is. Another big topic for B's fans this season is the play of Tyler Seguin and why he has yet to become the superstar everyone anticipates he will be. This leads to Claude Julien's style and if he does actually have something against the younger players. That Iginla trade shows its ugly head again as well.

a big deal as the playoffs go forward. A bit surprising. I guess they're looking for a bit of a miracle here because they kind of look a little overmatched in this series I think overall. That's a good question and I don't know usually I'm looking for some sort of analysis of these things is at the entry into his donors and supporters of movement. But this is just plain states. Milbury had a better vocabulary -- you come up with something a little bit more descriptive about their play out there -- apparently not. Time for are awarded to reject Ed words segment brought you vibrant smoke shop to implement Pembroke Brockton where Graham. And Taiwan rejected into the game last night NBC sports of the game last night but this is just plain states. I guarantee he's bright and some play by play in this count yourself like that right. Yup by the Q did you request then you know I I gotta say that. That looked -- taking up a vocabulary like that that's an example to -- the occasion of national commentary in hockey. What do you think it's that he was he was fearful of is unlike the Sox who was that it happened in -- court. Well of course -- -- -- remember what he used to work for -- and he wasn't politically correct or that fund. It is believable. That. I should take on we're talking about this earlier we'll get to the power play unit in a few minutes. But that first period looked like it was one of those typical old school Montreal games were you could be down three zip. And -- garage was just amazing as the agent. Yeah any questions as to whether he's a legitimate number one goal those urgent and answered last night restless. Unbelievable in the first period and there are several other times indicated that the Bruins had more catastrophes happen. And with the exception of Thomas the Canucks just missed the killing a plot that global little bit -- -- Was true to the task done on every single occasion. You know we're also potential dark secret -- in cleanly but. You know the one goal Peter Wallace a bomb from -- issue on the deflect it offered early sticker with a tremendous game and I think you can file it under games that took arrest -- -- and to the game up Erica subpoena was so motivated he's supposed to get it first in the northeast. That so that's a real good one for efforts are gonna put on the wall. One of the Bruins thinking with -- his contract Jackman is he going to be. Is he gonna sign a contract during this season long extension extension 34 year extension or are they got to wait until the last minute to see what the market says about. Through eternity ago and it -- -- he wants to go multi year. But so is the last. He commented about it really in depth just. Circuit. And that's that you have last night on NBC. That's. You know something that you important foreign -- quality. If you can hold up to decline if he can deliver in the playoffs if you really is that he elite level. And if so how much they're gonna have to adjust there approached the salary cap because. It's gonna commit 64 million and change next year and perhaps they took all -- that gap. They're gonna have to make some adjustments but. You know that that's what we're gonna learn over the next three or four or maybe even five months with super -- -- would agree that if you can believe. -- and elect kind of workload and deliver in the clutch. I know I know with talked about this so much in the last couple years we talked about it in the 2011 playoffs. Com when they couldn't score a power play goal through entire series. And I don't understand how does it happened this one this is a very talented team as we know -- penalty killing is second in on. And obviously it probably -- some of the numbers we look at with their their power play opportunities because. Between them and the Rangers they are just down but the bottom of the lake. How is it that they have not been able to fix this now Jack for such a long period that and will ever be able to fix it. Well virtually no effect -- But who knows who don't tell. It's my sidekick and and mentor Andy prickly is so many times. Probably the simplest way to do it is to have the guy -- sports that the topped wall sports you know halfway between the Blue Line on the goal line along the port. -- off the wall. Looking to shoot edit it there take that shot. As early in the game and it's early and power play as it is there if it is a well placed shot it at least will deliver rebound. And what you'll do is you'll put into the mind of your opponent. That they're gonna have to. Close that -- that's a natural scenery and any. Five on four situation that your before secure the penalty killer that scene is going to be there unless you Alter. Your geometry if you Alter your geometry something else opens up. And the whole point of of a power play is that so mortars at 211 in the attack -- all -- -- -- parked there and find. Move your meant in a way that they can get open and -- the -- from the quality areas of the ice. It's. It's old orchard C -- Tampa Bay played it's on its power play. They often lineup -- want reward which one of a power play units for the broad users and it's it's amazing. -- work to watch how those guys moved their bodies and -- the park and end up. In tremendous period. She didn't do they not have that got to complain long and a half Walt that Dick and they can occupy that role is that the issue. Well you know it was Marc -- and Tony Stark contrast out of the league and we really haven't seen a pastor who liked him -- in April and slaughter. A lot of people think the rich currently has that capability apparently ranks seventh rate among brought forward in our what's -- on -- for game. Powers Sagan has been cast in -- hole -- one of the units. David great -- on another. For Atlantic -- five on five game right now about it that it has been in a regular season he's he's the kind of players making other players around and played better. And -- have not been there but. For some reason he's our play unit hadn't had the kind of sparked the is five -- 51 work. Has had and and -- residential. I'm gonna take over the game type of personality that we -- superstars. Show guys like I like Marty saint believe that it retaliate. Stephen stamp goes wrought in Libya planet you know -- o'clock announce an outsider. You know Jack I would guess one of the most uncomfortable Bruins employees is the coach. Or assistant coach who's in charge of the power play who's been working with the players the most who is that guy. And now what is his reputation. It's Jeff ward who is extremely. Dedicated guy you know when you win. I'm sure this is true and in all sports at the highest -- when you get to know these coaches you realize how much of their lives they give up. The coach that particularly before garrido and noticed that they absolutely love what we're doing. -- worked pretty Smart guy. And he's a -- of all these things that we talked about in the media that everybody talks about in the media like at the same time that you're managing personalities and you're managing personnel in your written suggestions. The personal have to deliver a report said that on the air last night in the is that your McGwire venture -- Something that by the way we would want to do with -- good. NBC can -- what toys in there aren't regional writes holder's camp but. But they -- great. It's up to the players you know it's up to the player to have the creativity that -- capabilities. There are Smart enough they just have to get themselves in a mindset where they're going to be aggressive on the puck in the attack and so they're gonna look for the shop they're gonna look for things open up. And now they're not going to be afraid of making mistakes out there right now it looks almost as if they're thinking too much and that they just let it flow. And let the game come to them in and play the way they've always played and succeeded at every level. It's gonna happen but -- it's it's such a mental stumbling block right now. It was interesting hearing from John for today. He has been cleared to play which means that you play Saturday against Tampa Bay and and -- Against the sabres and the rematch with the with Jon -- any kind of took up. He was asked the question about you know wide -- -- go out there and he obviously gave the right answer that's bodies -- Great player and he shouldn't be able to do that saw this coming off of a concussion. What can you expect from him right out of the gate because of that most people are gonna expect that he's the same Sean but especially on Sunday against got. Go back and see if you can take this guy can he afford to do this upcoming -- a a concussion Jack. Well here's let thumbnail sketch show important. Before he became. A full time professional hockey player you worked in a steal little. So this guy doesn't shy from the task and he's been cleared to play he hasn't been cleared to play 88%. He's been cleared to play a 100%. And everybody knows what a large part of his game so you know this is a guy who had ten goals and ten assists. And you know I've I've taken a little bit of verbal barrage for the way categorized giants got a chance Scott. In his career has won NHL goal -- important is not only is serviceable player but he was the huge part of Anaheim winning the cup in note seven. -- at least two or three minutes three minutes and then in 2011 it's it's it's quality of play that gets into the lineup. But it is his willingness to -- -- difficult thing and keep Jon Scott from running -- -- teacher Tyler's bigger took a rats that that allows. In -- to keep the security that he has to tilt your heart think so yeah if you -- cleared to play these. Certainly got to be willing to go Scott however. I don't think anybody on the role -- roster is a good trade for John's got. But you know it's it's the sabres get in April and off the ice for five minutes to not start Scott. That's yeah that's six would erupt just find the -- got it you've got to play five minutes in the game. Guys this reform and a -- how -- you characterize them. Refresh our memory. NHL it's like it's like and I tweeted that he is like a slap shot character and you know what it. It maybe some people think that that -- Jon Scott that would -- route to the NHL anybody can make it into the NHL have talked to them but. Wouldn't -- -- Jon Scott can give me one instance of what he had -- back structure on the back chuck can you give me one instance of when he told to block a shot he was one instance of of when he made a great clear out of the decreased. That particular patent dog not as a player and you know what that doesn't make it look bad person. Is what is. Self there and he can punch harder than anybody in the NHL right. Can anybody on the Bruins beat them in Dortmund beat them. -- in Portland went fights against guys that I never thought he had a chance to be so much of the state -- can't beat him but. Jackson two to one on Sunday. Yeah at a private enterprise he might be -- guide your -- department just does not make him rocky movies and aimless as you know this is it. This is the only means of of -- I Jack we'll do it -- again actually you would studio next week. Yes players studio and actually extend -- a product questions about the weather coming up this weekend into the -- this and I know -- late but.
