Joining us on the AT&T hotline our friend Jack McMullen from ESPN is always Jackie is brought to you by town fair tired by HSA insurance. Jackie Butler our U. I'm making my -- -- that ultimately I doubt I think I have a 00 is it our best try and -- Here's what I'll say if -- well if your phone goes out -- it's gonna be our fault nothing is gonna be your fault that I promise. I'll start with the Celtics last night that was an ugly win but any sort of win at this point to get any sort of momentum three games or 500 best record and had all year. I'll take it as a Celtics and Jack. Yeah it -- as we got a -- double overtime note it make it happen. And it's a little frustrating -- a lot that it's scenic CE I think. Currently handle in it would not under lock her up and drive to the hole virtually on the -- lot of outside -- -- -- -- -- don't mail it. A adequately well but but you're you're correct. -- and -- you know Internet right now -- without a -- to -- Thought your second place in the Atlantic Division and every. Inconsistent at at this point. Not that not at all. You know it did seem like they still have -- salute. Same issues right KG on the court KG off the court and you know that the plus minus is continue to build. When you when you look at the public of a concern is that moving forward at -- obviously probably would be. Sure it's it's always the major concern I think with the Celtics and and you LE AG wants really impose his will like to say on the game like he did against the world. Not only that but let -- group which it felt a little cushion the -- -- the margin for error for this right now it's pretty small. Though aren't night when eight isn't gonna have it going offensively for whatever reason. I. The -- -- -- -- about last night that they're frustrated me like you know end of regulation and or on your needs it needs following point where. -- in the post did that drop step underneath that followed that. -- that basket to put them ahead forget exactly where and when I thought to myself -- has gone small. -- -- -- appeared in both guys out why aren't you on in the it's like you know I continuous frustration. It's a continuation I think we've seen these first twenty games or so jackets it's Doc Rivers is really good at drawing plays out of bounds really good at setting up plays and of game. They've executed so poorly yet any sort of idea as to why we've seen this now from the beginning of the year end of game sloppy not knowing exactly where they wanna go as an offense. Well I think it you know it's quite a -- straight -- sometimes you get that -- -- all of a hero mode mentality. And that is one. LP. -- aren't we certainly not a lot -- All but you don't want to get it done one on one isolation and -- -- sudden -- Virginia Tech -- -- that a lot of rock out like that -- So I think it's a mine and and -- and -- you know I think it's one of the we're gonna absolutely itself. You know we talked to Jeff Green earlier and you know less than not a great shooting night but just affected put up sixteen shots in the in his last six games or so. He's doing that that's something that he's doing is is that that's a positive sign move or just him being more aggressive. Right acted well I want -- rejecting it got the active. So I'd like -- rebound from a -- it over the game like that last night as it is acting and and you know I don't think -- -- that it -- extremely. You better hope it yourself and that you haven't -- to continue to get back to come on after what he's been through over the last year. There are forward Jeff Green and mark you are now. And that. So that expenditure across the board about these guys really. Jackie -- joining us you wrote about the Patriots defense and the money Nike -- you surprised at how quickly this thing has come together where they looked. Not just competent but aggressive and good in that game against a pretty good Houston Texans dolphins. You know -- that -- allowed me I don't think it not been made at this stat guys. Where they are and you know open the second app that he's in regular obviously going back. -- and and it's it's all about the 2000 not a lot in the regular seat that was that extra game welcome Latin you know. There are playing for anything they weren't really trying to and that. Incredible that it -- And not a privately correlate it it is and our our great old idiot in that information -- All the first eight the first app from. Top ten and now. Thought that the QB I would like -- their total got you beat it and rating it a point that. It idea an average in our quarterback that -- hit he got really high and it put. It would end it in the elbow that after the year including you know knock second -- now. Ratings go down -- -- like that for eight point oh what. -- looked -- -- -- all the time he's developed tendencies. And Bill Belichick an app right -- tendencies. And they exploit the quarterback. You obviously the way they played -- -- we're on. You know against Houston. You look at this game now and -- -- -- -- this game will be tougher and a lot of had to do with the way they made the Texans looked. But defensively I think that this team is for real as opposed to maybe we found a lot of the Texas defense. You know I I I will tell you that will all be working after that it happened just a game and everything like an edit it all want to think. What I think about it it's an old fashioned -- back. Up and seeing where you're really trying to establish the run and trying to make these people are people into thinking you're lying all I'm -- -- over the and Everett hit -- gives you a lot more different looks and at a Harbaugh I think it's determined they'll. It -- intent in check out imprint itself. Odds are that he'll show and now we're really. I. Is someone around the horn said Jacqui Tom Brady's having his best years a patriot this year. -- -- snapped back and would Jack the thinking go boy 29 touchdowns four picks in this offense maybe is seven this past year. In the hot. -- because. The weapons hitting at saint 2007 money and able regular eat and you know respect. Injury is it players it linemen. And I think she's really it it. We talk about it meant a lot and I get that. But but in my mind right now you that it's in Italy and I get well little -- it in and day out I think you have to be really -- -- last one for me. We talked about college athletics at the end of our conversation last week and now we are apparently 24 or 48 hours away from the complete. And -- demolition. Of the Big East Conference as we know it. What did you say what did you think when he saw that the seven basketball team including lose Providence Friars won a walk away break this thing -- Well iron unfortunately and that they. Had a chance. The day it and it didn't elect. But you know and I'm talking about a year ago years ago -- it is and it didn't outline. NESN's Barry Pederson on the Bruins dominance

Cleveland Indians hottest team in baseball, yet remain last in attendance May 19, 2013 By AJ Kaufman 6 Comments There’s a scene in Major League where Bob Uecker, portraying the radio voice of the Indians, bemoans, “In case you haven’t noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven’t, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.” Well, that was nearly 25 years ago and fictional, but today’s reality is that Cleveland has won 17 of its last 21, and currently tops the AL Central with a mark of 25-17. No one in the majors is better than the Indians in the past month (20-7). That’s great news. The bad news, however, is the Tribe somehow remain in the MLB cellar when it comes to attendance. How can this be? The fact that I wrote on this same topic almost to the day last year – when only Tampa Bay drew fewer fans than Cleveland - may be even more troubling. Though roughly 34,000 watched a walk-off win Friday night against Seattle, perfect weather and free caps weren’t enough to draw more than 36,000 Saturday and Sunday combined. What did the Indians do in those tilts? They nabbed another walk-off win on Saturday, then the Indians crushed the great Felix Hernandez Sunday behind Justin Masterson, arguably the AL’s best pitcher right now. Fun fact: The Indians have already faced eight Cy Young Award winners in 2013: Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Jake Peavy, David Price, Justin Verlander and Hernandez. They have won seven out those eight matchups. Simply astounding. This offseason, the much-maligned Indians front office finally made a legitimate attempt to improve the team through free agency. I’m not talking an Ubaldo Jimenez-like trade, but rather smart acquisitions that brought veterans Mike Aviles, Michael Bourn, Jason Giambi, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs and Nick Swisher to Cleveland. In addition to being a fantastic place to watch a game due to great egress and ingress, with extremely affordable tickets, the best promo lineup anywhere, Jacobs Field boasts overall, cooler, less muggy summer weather than most Midwestern locales. The team also lowered beer and hot dog prices to $4 and $3 respectively. What other professional stadium in any sport offers that? I have visited 28 of the 30 current Major League Baseball stadia, and few top The Jake when all angles are considered. I say that as a baseball fan, not an Indians fan. As for the putative “economic” angle, these are the same people who spend insane amounts of money to watch terrible football every fall and show up in decent numbers for putrid basketball in the winter. Irrespective of season length, those sports charge up to 10 times the price for a ticket, and the atmosphere isn’t half as fan-friendly as baseball. I understand fans’ lack of willingness to get on board to some degree. A decent recap of Cleveland’s decade of “rebuilding” can be read here and the team suffered a horrific collapse last August. However, in addition to all the benefits of attending games at Jacobs (now Progressive) Field, fans should also realize the team has potential and often exceeds preseason aspirations at any point without warning. Cleveland hosts the rival Detroit Tigers — heavy favorites to repeat as AL Central champs — Tuesday and Wednesday nights before hitting the road. The temperature should be pleasant at first pitch each evening so you’d expect The Jake to be full to watch the best hitter on the planet right now — but don’t count on it.
