When you are game planning for this team with the first with a second year head coach. Is it difficult -- got plenty of time platform. Is it difficult because those. You don't really have. A body of work to work. You know -- opening day is always a tough vote -- preparation game because. You have the pre season games you go look at those and those that there are those of their players on the -- -- of that from the with -- did the year before or. Government's history have on the team. Only combine all that that's way more than -- can possibly do in your game and you can either. There are still some plays that we could do better and lost leverage and they go away from missile that was on Johnson's fest. Kendall Wright has little quickness underneath there and so. And -- anytime you have a lot of people around the ball then there's less space for the -- in the -- -- a little bit easier than it is -- assists while no one out there in the open field so. Maybe on the right side of the formation with the safety here for a linebacker and we are able to get outside. Probably easier at that point. And I usually don't like talking about injuries. Which but listen give us some different options and in different spots abilities as we go through or teaching progression it's it's the same but it looks a little bit different than on whether. Defensive tackle or defensive than a linebacker safety here whoever's doing it but fundamentally it's those same concept force. Which incidently is a different group in a matchup that are -- there. Their personnel so well. That's a long answer the short answer is we try to put guys in position that they can be productive and be effective and and the more versatility they have more opportunity we have the movement of those different spots but it's based on the team and the personnel that more our game plan as what we're trying to stop what. What their strengths are how we monitor and neutralize them what their weaknesses are how we wanted to take advantage of. You know going going back as far as training cannot turn camp as Medicare. What clicked for him between. 2011 and 2012 what was it that he just seem to get because he doesn't like a different player compared to last. December January February. Back in those months and months and an -- into the offseason program. He was in good shape he worked hard he improved in his techniques his conditioning his strength. His quickness and explosion everything. Finally get to the spring and an RO TA practices. That that was good and then training camp was was -- would be and it's only just improved in a lot of different areas. Primarily through hard work and dedication that would be that the two main things I don't think it's one thing clicked I think he just. He put a lot of hard work. And these are this is the harvest. You talk about the versatility in voice like universal players. You've got some very athletic rookies but does that mean their personal in terms of what you wanna do with them defensive. Well soar more than others it's not just affluence and that's just the ability to. Conceptualize different positions handle different assignments and it's -- relate to different. Different combinations of people both our side of the ball and and only -- some balls I mean some guys have more of that than others. Certainly would depend on the individual player and and maybe where they are at this point they think there are some players they're gonna have more versatility. With it as they inexperienced then their only those who are little more experienced. Go Buckeyes tower who's who's been in a very you know sophisticated defense system in Alabama. Has played a couple different linebacker positions also played down and so for Alabama. Similar terminology Smart guy had a lot of experience playing at a high level to -- program. He's a little further ahead than some other guys are not saying that they won't catch up or that. But in -- he's just a little little further and has little more versatility at this point in time right. She used to be a lot more game planning and pro certainly in your program and are in a lot of colleges. Do you find it a challenge sometimes -- young kids' understanding that every single week. We have a totally different game plan I may be asking you to do something totally different lasted into us on. I think that is that's an adjustment for some players that your or even if we don't do differently and if we do the same thing who were playing is different so therefore it is different. If we called it the exact same defenses are we were on the exact same play on offense. It's different than it was the week before because the match ups are different and the scandal that different too because each team has its own unique way of of doing something -- coverage or or run and play whatever happens today so. That it is different even at the same and a few changes a little bit week to week which we do some of that than the the stats to them. Now it's more efforts on the pile and that it is harder for some players to. But to understand that transition but I think in time when when they get and understand. That are able to to do more with that there will take advantage -- so there's definitely a process. You know are are a watcher games in different games are obsolete -- -- -- of strategy. Questions that I wanna run by and one album came in last night's Denver Pittsburgh game. And it was you know both teams wound up going for too. Well before the games mean you know. Eight minutes left in the game twelve minutes after the game. Pittsburgh squad for two after his score. You keep back and you go to the first quarter. -- fifteen minutes to go in the game. Well he still had the same mathematical -- fifteen minutes of football left is this going to be last possessions can be last month two teams scored you really wanna. Risk given up a point. To gain an extra point and that's. So I think the time time remaining in the overall tempo of the game or how many possessions are left in the game for both teams. Think those start to come into play when you make those decisions and it's not just in mathematical charts. It's certainly how much time's left in the game and possessions are often and also if you have some kind of a feel for the game and certainly if there's going to be. In the second quarter if there's if there's going to be three or four more scores in the game. That mathematical chart is changed multiple times throughout the remainder of the games of the way it reads now on the -- second -- that's one thing. Probably reads at the end of the fourth quarter when you've lost that point that you try to gain back in the second quarter could make a local differently do you really want you. Not that the extra points automatic but it's over 99% so throughout the league pretty much it's pretty much automatic right so you know when you go for the two points which is more of a 5050 proposition statistically. You you have the and they have to decide whether it's really worth it you know at at that point in time dependent on again how much time left than. What else can happen -- nobody has that foresight. If you -- in the second quarter that there were going to be in more points scored a game this was going to be. Falls and you'd make your decision differently than it. If the game was going to be -- back and forth game that the panel points or so. But I think it's -- easier to use this chart at the end of the game with fewer possessions. It's one it backs up -- you have to decide how risky is attitude try to get that extra point in the go for two example. How risky is they get that extra point relative to take -- sure point. 99% sure point. And and continuing to play the game from whatever scores. Seems like to be an easy game if you knew the second quarter wouldn't be a lot easier if you -- almost thanks. Both these it'll look back at the end game and say boy -- -- we have.
