guy around and I look I haven't seen a major dip from Tom Brady bit I I. Sometimes with some of those passes are off the market -- wonder whether Tom Brady 89 years ago. Would be off the mark and and I think of all those Wes Welker drops. So many of those Wes Welker drops -- balls that were thrown off the mark and usually he -- those and make Brady makes Brady looked more accurate
high. You become a candidate to be cut and and I think Tom Brady does not want under any set of circumstances to put the patriots in a position where they have to cut him. But these guys can continue the question is. As those skills deteriorate at what point does it intersect with the is sending skills of a young player. But a question for me Mike which. Of the new combos do you think will be more successful next year Manning -- Wes Welker Brady and -- middle. I. I think I think Brady and Amendola this whole notion that -- -- is injury prone look. Wes Welker torn ACL on week seventeen if he doesn't week one he's out for the season all of a sudden he looks injury

Start are you are like oh my. Us through that -- shouldn't she know. -- and ticket there -- got some feelings are no history -- -- -- Is the day. What what happened and when I was been generated Red Sox general manager bench Eric and all the Dennis and Callahan this morning talking about the trade trade and everybody's been talking about I guess we'll be talking about a for the rest of the season but let's face it. This talking about this -- and what it means for the Red Sox. That's all the more interesting than watching the Red Sox play -- -- a regular seat is relevant it is. Our hero they're they're leaving it one at a time. OK let's say just as you just that sarcastically at the top of the show they go on a run when they don't lose a game -- will be talking about the rest are up and that. -- -- Where we're looking at free agent list you're thinking about possible trades since any trade is now possible now but this monster Ballantine. Was this mean for bench Arrington. That's also people wrote and said that the bench Eric Harris starts right now. Not quite the -- -- and -- arts officially in the offseason decision is made on the manager. If Bobby Valentine comes back I'm assuming. Dangerous assumption I'm assuming that -- Jarrett and rubber stamp that meanwhile would you let the guy move. Almost a quarter over quarter billion dollars in contracts yet not let -- make a decision on. Who's gonna manage Hewitt a -- -- to write yet you have to think -- so that's what I darts some changing of the guard here in and you know we'll see with what happens with that it's going to be. Really fascinating offseason is that they have money to do whatever they want if they don't do anything that people are gonna tell them. If they go crazy site Josh Hamilton and people kill for that it's a weird spot I'll be interest in the seat. By the security kept hammering or discipline that press comes at that -- see what that means consistent he has. About the so what that what that means is went on spring break there was an extended spring break. For baseball operations. It took all daddy's money to a -- and -- hey -- a critic of Mexico. It was crazy they were doing weird things. The tequila made me do it. Nor Brendan yeah said he got on the phone to somebody who else can use -- -- and you gotta get -- so quickly you tell your people -- -- wanted to work -- you can tell people who work that you were dropped. For Bill Belichick bill Belichick's coming in the -- and there's -- we had a -- ago. -- patriots Monday the head coach of the patriots is here Bill Belichick I don't bill Michael Holley and Kurt -- and what's going on. Hillary there are okay. I don't -- I'm doing okay. Iran has gone there. I'll go out pretty well we're just talking about this Red Sox trade that's been dominated our thoughts here but let's talk about the patriots for a second you guys made some news. Today you signed Aaron Hernandez to a long term contract. It's probably obvious why you would wanna do that but tell us why you -- sign Aaron Hernandez too long term deal. Always learn. You know he's a good job forces an employer and the worked hard improved every year and -- in a -- to reach agreement so that big thing and we. Try to though because at times sometimes -- works so I'm confident that it it at this time and so on. Or about. You know if you've been around football for a long time and you've you've heard many comparisons this guy reminds me of -- -- -- him. Does he remind you of anybody that you have coached us in giving advice you've coached against or seen as a fan in the NFL. Well we'll do you know parent got a good combination of skills. -- in the passing game tickets isn't. And compete on -- running game and obviously has good hands and it made a lot of lucky place forces on the fourth down play themselves Lester. Something like that -- These communities that are productive player and the John and it's gotten better and it works -- hopefully it'll continue to. With the gronkowski and mail last year now if -- name is bill is their -- and organizational shift in some way getting. Two agreements of these guys earlier in their careers is just in the situation we've had three guys who'd been able to come to agreement with -- quicker in the process. Yeah I was so it'll let you know we've we've always been active tranda. Sign on and recent players to our roster like that among before that momentum. He's good at them. -- -- -- What's your plan going to be four you're your final exhibition game is -- going to be generally what we've seen in the past you know no. No or limited Tom Brady no Wes Welker Hernandez gronkowski is that. Is that the approach today. You know we're gonna talk about that later on tonight we've got to there's -- cut off the field a little while ago here -- -- -- -- -- Trainers and doctors but you know everybody's availability is -- and -- need as a coaching -- Africa -- program. Panel plans on Wednesday night so. Well. -- figure that -- tonight maybe early tomorrow morning. In or final. Preparations tomorrow in the hadn't found -- -- more I mean to New York art -- them. You know bill we've talked a lot about the schedule pre season scheduling had a lot of games in a short amount of time -- three games in the over a week and a half spanned. Coming toward the end of it. Do you think you've gotten a lot out of it and and if so what what have you gotten out of this this compact schedule. Well you know we we can't control it it'll soon. We just whatever it is it is trying to make the most out of our opportunities. The greater good week but practiced down there in Tampa and certainly saw a lot of things from the books that were helpful in terms of our preparation. And I -- skiing men. Honestly do some things different we do an analyst that was good experience for some good spoke for them. Obviously a different group of players but also. Different different schemes and all three phases of the game so. It's could force. Bristol. And disorders. Our discussion. And will be -- plan. Bill Wes Welker. Told reporters that he missed last -- -- the personal issue in them and try to press him on it. Told them to ask you about it's I guess I'll ask you about the as a something it's going to keep -- that this next pre season gamers can Sunday may potentially bleed into the opener September -- Of global it -- other goes. That he. And so again at some personal lesson on a -- come from getting into it. Applaud them. And and make -- decision on the that it's one of the many considerations that we we. And we'll have to -- and discuss. As we talk about -- where we are actually gonna play the game in time. You know last year with with a lock out and the unusual offseason in the NFL I kept thinking about these rookies too bad for the rookies or the guys who are. First your players with the patriots came from a different system and now have to come here and it just it's just the and offseason it's tough to adjust you have you seen any of those guys who were here last year rookies or players who with you for the first time last year. Really step up and excitement and have their development accelerated because they had a full offseason this year. I. There's a controlled. Is there is there is there a guy who stands out more than more than another one or. Anybody really get your attention and that in that category. A little more than a category. Think he pretty much everything on the line and every well. Now from -- certainly more -- sun. Affinia. -- -- So stroman all of related marine. Anything. Think you can really pretty much current tunnel and there. -- those guys benefited from. But all season. And spring it is in training camp. With that background. You know they were training camp Lester that your training camp and they are a lot more experience in the world letters. Because -- -- in terms. -- -- -- -- reports throughout real football starting -- and Ellis is good for you guys the coaches you know if practices be able to evaluate people but for us as fans were looking forward to. The start of the season thanks for taking -- Saturday we'll talk to you next week. OK done good all right I don't get on the detailed look at. I. Don't want to go out here. And I had gotten a little respect about how -- And it. -- -- -- So all your Boston although William was only Belichick you know where. Anyway. Before we did with Bill Belichick report about this trade. -- -- Red -- changed their landscape forever really for the next decade. Would this a seismic trade. And we'll also objected we told this speaking of seismic we'll check in with Laura -- that was there. We're tackle them and about fifteen minutes were treated you yeah.

NESN's Barry Pederson on the Bruins dominance

Cleveland Indians hottest team in baseball, yet remain last in attendance May 19, 2013 By AJ Kaufman 6 Comments There’s a scene in Major League where Bob Uecker, portraying the radio voice of the Indians, bemoans, “In case you haven’t noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven’t, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.” Well, that was nearly 25 years ago and fictional, but today’s reality is that Cleveland has won 17 of its last 21, and currently tops the AL Central with a mark of 25-17. No one in the majors is better than the Indians in the past month (20-7). That’s great news. The bad news, however, is the Tribe somehow remain in the MLB cellar when it comes to attendance. How can this be? The fact that I wrote on this same topic almost to the day last year – when only Tampa Bay drew fewer fans than Cleveland - may be even more troubling. Though roughly 34,000 watched a walk-off win Friday night against Seattle, perfect weather and free caps weren’t enough to draw more than 36,000 Saturday and Sunday combined. What did the Indians do in those tilts? They nabbed another walk-off win on Saturday, then the Indians crushed the great Felix Hernandez Sunday behind Justin Masterson, arguably the AL’s best pitcher right now. Fun fact: The Indians have already faced eight Cy Young Award winners in 2013: Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Jake Peavy, David Price, Justin Verlander and Hernandez. They have won seven out those eight matchups. Simply astounding. This offseason, the much-maligned Indians front office finally made a legitimate attempt to improve the team through free agency. I’m not talking an Ubaldo Jimenez-like trade, but rather smart acquisitions that brought veterans Mike Aviles, Michael Bourn, Jason Giambi, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs and Nick Swisher to Cleveland. In addition to being a fantastic place to watch a game due to great egress and ingress, with extremely affordable tickets, the best promo lineup anywhere, Jacobs Field boasts overall, cooler, less muggy summer weather than most Midwestern locales. The team also lowered beer and hot dog prices to $4 and $3 respectively. What other professional stadium in any sport offers that? I have visited 28 of the 30 current Major League Baseball stadia, and few top The Jake when all angles are considered. I say that as a baseball fan, not an Indians fan. As for the putative “economic” angle, these are the same people who spend insane amounts of money to watch terrible football every fall and show up in decent numbers for putrid basketball in the winter. Irrespective of season length, those sports charge up to 10 times the price for a ticket, and the atmosphere isn’t half as fan-friendly as baseball. I understand fans’ lack of willingness to get on board to some degree. A decent recap of Cleveland’s decade of “rebuilding” can be read here and the team suffered a horrific collapse last August. However, in addition to all the benefits of attending games at Jacobs (now Progressive) Field, fans should also realize the team has potential and often exceeds preseason aspirations at any point without warning. Cleveland hosts the rival Detroit Tigers — heavy favorites to repeat as AL Central champs — Tuesday and Wednesday nights before hitting the road. The temperature should be pleasant at first pitch each evening so you’d expect The Jake to be full to watch the best hitter on the planet right now — but don’t count on it.
