Let's jump. Let's -- would do well let's jump right in as you always do when you don't back it up with numbers from cold hard football facts can also find. -- football nation among many other places. Let's let's give it some patriots stuff. -- it was balls I do use you're always backing up that this is he passing. -- that the teams that pass well and defend the pass -- going to be champions correct. Absolutely 100% had -- a way to all of NFL -- That was my other point you -- back up that it's always been that way which is surprising because the old school people will tell you. That all there was the three yards and a cloud of dust and running the football was won championships stomping grounds. We don't don't fund -- people believe that they wholeheartedly believe that enormously when -- Want cold hard -- fact you know. So -- yet on how I believe that you could just get all grown up in high school football and things like bad that would it's ingrained in the psyche and in the end it. And the culture of football but -- -- -- look at the numbers. I cannot appear in 1941 because of the greatest after the attack in the best pass defense that the profit 51 for the same reason and and I -- -- a presentation about this and an adult film couple weeks ago the 1960s factors. Everyone remembers that somebody you know British billionaire that's billion on the policy -- the -- basically. And let -- get to run the ball walk but they with a dominant attitude football year after year. And that's why they won yet but it went championship you know became application I respect -- -- the ball or the true. But it although -- -- -- on offense which they could have done you know the -- ready -- long. And stop it happened defense which of course they're not done well in recent yet. So have they not won a championship in a while now in the -- but not want it. Because they don't defend the pass on -- -- clearly when it comes to passing Brady in this offense has been at or near the top of the league for. The last 67. And what people say you know they -- you know they need they need receivers -- that other they're -- and what it -- championship got what they want them. I'll put it doesn't predict what we heard 48 points right in and won a Super Bowl another -- get a little 500. And of course you know maybe play a two way but always the opposite in just the patriot. With cutthroat industry have not wanted championships you need that balance and -- apart. Had that balance. You know to simply as a seminal moment in it in the history. But the latter at this period of this dynasty let's -- -- -- look at dynasty that is. Don't Vietnam came into the team that still think that went well fourteen. Game has yet. But the seminal moment was actually the opposite if -- title game and all the sudden they couldn't stop. Peyton Manning and they've never that he could never really recovered. And I think what happened and I'm not gonna have insight into the mind of Bill Belichick and and the policy at the organization we've -- just look at the stat that number that the way they dealt with and all they've they've they've made the decision that -- all we need people with these should doubt what the offense and sacrifice a little on defense and -- strategy. You know clearly out of work in -- good. Great team sometimes but not not championship teams so one economic from pictured in on the -- that is what the best rap that he went. They can that they should've done about three years ago defense defense defense defense defense -- on the draft you know one offensive player receiver in the seventh round and I'm pretty excited about that I mean that's bad. This team that we. Defensively away from winning the -- and it any of these guys that generally don't have high tolerance if but these guys pay off you know you're -- it's and that is a legit. Brentwood that people won't make it in the papers. We'll carry the you know first off we should get a dose reality in the sense that there were one Wes Welker kept away from winning a Super Bowl last year. Yeah I mean so. Izzo along lines of what you're saying is that there are already pretty did. What are the year you mentioned you know that you're encouraged by what they do in the -- -- water to players. That they did whether it's offense or defense that they added to this team that excites you the most. Well you know look at that directly -- -- the draft Greg Jones and I don't date that you don't we going to are we can -- overview whatever they achieve and after the 2011 season. The one weakness the number one weakness for the patriots lack of playmakers on defense the with a guy. Make it those plays at the Willie McGinest to Teddy Bruschi guy. The left if they haven't out of that it happened that goes so. You know Jordan get a pass rusher outside the -- that that really active if I tell it can be just the -- start in the middle of the defense. All you don't go to play it that that that should. Really excite you and you know they got it'll -- Bobby optimistic about people like that. I can other thought I'm not I'm not let you know people talk over it and look -- you know -- -- -- receiver people receivers but. I don't think he's he's at fault in the making big -- guy with a team though to make a break guys -- got to come defensively and other. The patriots too aggressive on offense and -- -- you know -- could exact a molecular 518 point whatever was. They can look 400 -- would -- all they -- they don't need to be the same. A week off and they were the pieces all over again. We like the charge -- -- to lead up and let you guys to turn it on and in the in the end of the year Eli Manning has proven himself one of the great clutch players. Of all time that the great big game -- -- -- when you -- the best big game portable I'm going back to. The college it took it easy to kind of unique in that. Great great weapons of veterans don't do not win championships as simple as that that -- -- record it all back. What would check that good at what -- -- dad or catching bad attitude in the illegal opposite neglect. Conferences. Well I got the usually the champion balanced team and I think the patriots are now. World like you said rob let you know one way you know one -- typically don't want play defensively away from winning. The simple -- on it it'll be picked up there they just -- -- in those -- to think between decade as. Statistically they can improve that the present at the rated critical indicators by what eight to ten point this that this is a Super Bowl bound -- Are you wanna talk about. An anomaly for numbers you were right they scored 513 points there were third in the league tying Green Bay and warm ones. We didn't get there. They were third in differential. 171 in points scored points allowed. Did the giants won the Super Bowl were minus six. In points scored and -- a. The first payment history to win a championship when they gave up what -- from the school. History that like alcohol when that the greatest became coach of all I -- because. They 20072011. -- are statistically speaking and god and and we say this but. Digitally speaking the world champion ever. Ever I mean that the delicate look at the record that united seven at first that it seventeenth when a championship the birth -- couple points in the sport. Toward a championship the worst defensive passer rating to win a championship. You know this this but somehow they turn it on a big moment and they've really. -- and in normal to even in the course of history and I I really -- credit that to two things got hot -- as a as a big game coach. I think -- five and one alternative Bill Belichick we all right Bill Belichick admitted coach Jeff Burton as a did did you know I'd argue against applicant talk -- went off without a number that's just that's just the reality. Optical -- you know a public apology -- here at Boston College. Thought -- be noted in noted in the couple wanted to come in the game in that country and never been number one again. -- and at Notre Dame mystique. To spread that. Just spread the gospel to Scott -- it's Scott -- -- going to be up -- -- -- but don't know what -- are gonna in 1996 okay that the code and project what they're secular and felt franchise okay. I could -- in 97. And that would hinge on how it was gonna win the championship that the brought the fourteenth -- event. -- -- -- -- Which projects help build a fox borrowing big play Willie clay with the interception on this. We help people thought I would never got to win a championship that -- -- upset by the jaguar that you look at what -- probably did you know with with the giants he targeted the -- guy who wins. They -- that he shouldn't win. Andy and we've really taken to achieve that in no business winning championships here. The title and then you know fortunately depicted in on the committee that looked into it it started the awful lot. Team that will horrible team to what often been able to do is. Is kind of what that we can duplicate it but the giants you know that as an active. I'll bet the other -- came with a that would mirror image of the patriots that he has great up and terrible -- defense. And they could not stop Eli Manning in the playoffs last -- I'm an inevitable. Yards per pass attempt a ridiculous number in and the guy plays big in big games in and you know chipped -- took down two potential domestic policy in the space of a couple of weeks. I've already given the pitches the FC title -- Terry Terry. I mean I I thought you know we we don't we'll have our predictions out in August but I think there's a lot of merited I don't know what -- -- guy and you know it. -- and a minute Rex Ryan lost a 106. To be a huge debt but if not New England -- who else -- -- -- what -- -- -- -- -- -- Looming on the -- used in the game that that was probably the best you can football acuity is intact and I. They went -- one across the board which are all these steps already the highest average across the board and all our different qualities to have all the different indicators. And you know it's not a match up injury that you would going to with a simple -- convinced of it they work they were attacked our animal just put dynamo good and interior and I yeah I just wonder what would have happened if it -- had not been educated that the guy with a with a lot of pressure on to stay healthy and get it -- yet -- caliber team around -- so. You know I got the break thinking that they get that -- defense -- -- as -- did last year it and that goes goes all the great understand this they have they can kind of keep continue to develop that really writing team that that you know when will we fraudulent numbers before the senate seat that -- BR but we are if it was possible. -- love this and tell you about the numbers he's in New England guys -- Abbas right. Patriots fan I'm afraid to admit that but. All the text line is winding up now because he's praising the giants yet talking about the numbers like go to New York get out you moron and on -- I can't say. Because because you just go by the cold hard football. You know under the agreement that the agency and I mean I grow up one but I like your but the numbers. -- stop shop -- patriots fan or you can. Not I -- -- look -- by numbers puts it really is. Spent -- they have a great game of football butch. All right so Brandon Lloyd gimme some numbers that tell us it'll be really good fit or that it might not work. You know I mean -- look at -- we had a great defense opt. You know an in depth look at it one of -- that I think the big picture again -- guises. What particularly got my daddy at receiving food I just didn't feel like that's. Pretty excited but more importantly the quarterback league and everybody who is which -- Brady had a -- year right. Oh wait a minute when it comes to this position Randy Moss is old position. Joey Galloway didn't work. Ochocinco didn't work. So widespread in -- are gonna work because it Josh McDaniels. Well look you know there's some tepid -- will do what you look at it look at. Generated -- at his best year with Brady Wes Welker that story is well known. You know Robert held its greatest height -- -- -- never. Great play record but what you're gonna have that great season playing for playing in Miami let you know absolutely not. -- Obama but I don't I don't put a lot of thought into the -- we're talking with the plays inside the what Edinburgh football doesn't excite you because it's not a black secretly recorded that. We we operate effective wide receiver all the time and I mean you know he could have written it but they don't if they don't -- they have a great year to win. Eight. Early Tuesday that he sent to have a great yet to win so. You know if if the other breaking -- that the bonus. But I don't think. He bit that this except the that you do not. In on on Brandon -- and in any way shape. Look -- And I am a huge believer in the 49ers this year but. Again another huge but here's Alex Smith we saw a good Alex Smith last year and it's accurate economic last time your all of us just asked Cam Newton not a great Alex Smith. Do you think the 49ers can ride him to the Super Bowl. I looked at 49 -- that we queen named. We gave them the best coached team and football in October. And the reason we get that obviously -- both rookies so that was a little bit shocking but. You know we have the sufficient -- look I would have been dropped into the efficiency defensive efficiency and it is how well -- went situational football what Bill Belichick goes to right. Situational football. The 49 -- -- one offensively anti sensibly so they don't have the greatest you know. You're the offense that was the most efficient -- -- -- out of their -- -- production and and it broke into -- big points for are what your point -- sport that was. Now the produced very good team and I think that is going to be coming out party and those. Q -- what -- it drives two win the playoff game. The efficiency and guide people with some great people we're definitely -- got to get a rough only part of his career but yet. Great coach -- of Barry efficiencies and well we -- that efficiency relic but that touched on on -- ratio it was seventeen touchdown that was. Not great but it by the defection that winning football the 49 as we're winning you might think. It definitely played what you did is that it's absolutely. -- -- -- the simple ball that atmosphere continues. Our and you got to like how we got elected guides and it was situation like that and that -- the winner and we are -- -- -- you don't want to hear it or overstated but. You know the politician has yet -- that it is great great coach and you know get a great track records into that well this is the guy who knows how to build quality that wouldn't you know is that. The little things the situation of things that women lose. Football game in the organize itself -- those pretty much all last year. To carry lasting for me. -- -- do a bunch of video segments we do football nation called football facts we -- on recently on Peyton Manning and you've got some. I think a very interesting numbers about I think people are the numbers you can argue either way that he'll be a big hit in Denver if he's healthy that it'll work. What dead the out of the -- home. It's just not gonna work what what do the numbers say to you that. You know it's gonna go one way or not I don't think it's gonna be mediocre -- it's gonna be one way or the other with him in Denver -- I. I think that team I'm not I'm not. You know for people put the Broncos here it is as possible contender now because people on that team but I'm not buying it for several reasons operative almost. That was not a good defense -- club last year guys say they had eight that was a bad defensive club that gave up a lot of points throughout the articulate what it does indeed. Which is surprising by the numbers because most people feel like while Denver put pressure on the quarterback David Miller they. They are good defense last year. Now they would they would have -- would it. 32 in 2000 and in scoring defense okay. And a market improved slightly there was one for the 25 point and they get a pretty good idea point but yet but it looked at them they can't right now they. They don't give up 45 to the lines 49 of the -- is 32 for the vikings 41 of the -- -- the bill. 45 into the picture that would not a good defensive team in fact we can get the 2011 brought that every cent to Peyton Manning played with an -- And all -- Also one of those people to -- -- indeed what better than the Broncos defense last year. But not from Manning was always well if you -- with a great defense he went a lot of suitable well. This defense is playing with it not a great defense that's just not so that's one concern. The second serve going to look it is for the operating outside of like 63 point lower than that -- that don't that don't really helped his career helped us after the numbers. That it does for any quarterback and how we now explain it but the games outdoors. All you know he's on the back out of it -- in order a quarterback got a number of separate client. I noted -- year yes step by step down I'll read it from from the best seat than ever about the forty delegated quarterback. But he is not the quarterback of 2000 or even to the mid to late you know guided Italy thirty. -- with with quarterback usually what so we don't produce the well to do when they and it. Our out in the coming onto catastrophic injury you know that he had completed on time so I'm not I'm not articulate Broncos who is an image I'm I think it's legitimate good. The start looking -- lucky. To go we may get lucky to win the division that a couple breaks a lot of them go their way you know little Tebow magic pull out some games -- maybe they should want. It kind of bizarre circumstances and I don't know about that -- it's just I think that -- seven pretty pretty easily. And -- carry one -- -- for Kerry -- you like Tim Tebow you fickle have a positive effect the New York. I don't you know I do -- you can blow the decade different I I like you know what can be felt such a copycat. We gave it and so you know cookie cutter -- -- in the from the same style offense and I like the -- -- -- bit different but the fact one games and let the fact that he he ran all the guys etiquette it was a kind of a college style football that I personally. But exciting but it does look situation that's going to be such as who -- is that is such -- -- you know they don't advocate says it's gonna be drummed out of a job probably by mid season. It's gonna be all the controversy I don't see. I honestly liking him I don't see the positive impact people and that team. Like bringing a quarterback controversy to achieve what you guys who probably can't pass the ball in the week it will -- the levels so they I think it has all the potential to be deliciously disaster. -- characteristics. As always -- did I hear talk to Terry -- of cold hard for perfect person acting at Denver I think Manning it's gonna work there. Assuming he's healthy I think they're gonna really did think to defense gets better -- Manning works there I think. He makes a couple of the receivers all pro paper guys like you didn't need to various thomas' arise around and -- boards wow I like I like my first trip but he -- dig -- its dominant little LC all through monetary Kerry get a lot of techsters rock idol top. His hands. Are rampant and people wanna talk to but the Red Sox. 1321 last thought it would now -- -- thing.

Cleveland Indians hottest team in baseball, yet remain last in attendance May 19, 2013 By AJ Kaufman 6 Comments There’s a scene in Major League where Bob Uecker, portraying the radio voice of the Indians, bemoans, “In case you haven’t noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven’t, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.” Well, that was nearly 25 years ago and fictional, but today’s reality is that Cleveland has won 17 of its last 21, and currently tops the AL Central with a mark of 25-17. No one in the majors is better than the Indians in the past month (20-7). That’s great news. The bad news, however, is the Tribe somehow remain in the MLB cellar when it comes to attendance. How can this be? The fact that I wrote on this same topic almost to the day last year – when only Tampa Bay drew fewer fans than Cleveland - may be even more troubling. Though roughly 34,000 watched a walk-off win Friday night against Seattle, perfect weather and free caps weren’t enough to draw more than 36,000 Saturday and Sunday combined. What did the Indians do in those tilts? They nabbed another walk-off win on Saturday, then the Indians crushed the great Felix Hernandez Sunday behind Justin Masterson, arguably the AL’s best pitcher right now. Fun fact: The Indians have already faced eight Cy Young Award winners in 2013: Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Jake Peavy, David Price, Justin Verlander and Hernandez. They have won seven out those eight matchups. Simply astounding. This offseason, the much-maligned Indians front office finally made a legitimate attempt to improve the team through free agency. I’m not talking an Ubaldo Jimenez-like trade, but rather smart acquisitions that brought veterans Mike Aviles, Michael Bourn, Jason Giambi, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs and Nick Swisher to Cleveland. In addition to being a fantastic place to watch a game due to great egress and ingress, with extremely affordable tickets, the best promo lineup anywhere, Jacobs Field boasts overall, cooler, less muggy summer weather than most Midwestern locales. The team also lowered beer and hot dog prices to $4 and $3 respectively. What other professional stadium in any sport offers that? I have visited 28 of the 30 current Major League Baseball stadia, and few top The Jake when all angles are considered. I say that as a baseball fan, not an Indians fan. As for the putative “economic” angle, these are the same people who spend insane amounts of money to watch terrible football every fall and show up in decent numbers for putrid basketball in the winter. Irrespective of season length, those sports charge up to 10 times the price for a ticket, and the atmosphere isn’t half as fan-friendly as baseball. I understand fans’ lack of willingness to get on board to some degree. A decent recap of Cleveland’s decade of “rebuilding” can be read here and the team suffered a horrific collapse last August. However, in addition to all the benefits of attending games at Jacobs (now Progressive) Field, fans should also realize the team has potential and often exceeds preseason aspirations at any point without warning. Cleveland hosts the rival Detroit Tigers — heavy favorites to repeat as AL Central champs — Tuesday and Wednesday nights before hitting the road. The temperature should be pleasant at first pitch each evening so you’d expect The Jake to be full to watch the best hitter on the planet right now — but don’t count on it.
