Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is he prepares with this team gets set at AT&T hot -- a guy who was part of Super Bowl 42 now breaks it down. Tremendously on NBC for all things NFL he -- former patriot Rodney Harris and Rodney Lou and Mike here -- Boston power you. I'm doing great outdoors we are very appreciative of the time here you heard your former teammate Tom Brady just say -- still can't watch highlights from. Super Bowl 42 -- what about you you watch that thing yet.

watched it the other day it -- absolutely correct we did squandered some opportunities. We dropped some interceptions that's my opportunities and they've really. If you look at the way to the game golf when we played hard it's just. You know they've made some key plays they -- some key third downs and and really we just didn't play our best football -- I don't even necessarily think we -- to play our best football. We just made about in the states.

Your job screened. -- heady guy in his grasp he talked about how -- cold -- and -- Knight has replaced that play over and over his mind. We -- what does David Tyree catch out duck boat before. As an athlete what to do everything you can and it doesn't work out he notes you -- can live with you know it's tough decision but. He did everything he could net cash it was just almost that we called for years a fluke.

Yeah and and get to a point. Now where I can actually look at the play in Canada laugh and joke about it with my buddies and you must not -- the -- dead. These retirees tougher that you could be all the way from the fact that. That you'll. You know it at that first McConnell like -- and how would I would have nightmares and I would actually carry the burden of of well placed the blame myself. And really thinking about disappointed battling my teammates but the organization has so many fans across the country because we work so hard to get the point is sixteen in no -- and I've been up finally started real loud and it's not just one place. To change the course of that game and even within that drive these big bird like a long third down in nine. And and of course they had the score -- going to cut down so it's not one person you can blame but me. Get a competitive person I know like to debate that was put some of them like you just can't you can't you don't control things that happen.

Is -- the Guinea that come back out of retirement just like a little as 71 -- this.

No I don't -- I'm really excited that this probably got -- because you know you look at Bill Belichick and a good job that he's done this year. Haven't completely opposite types of -- You know the altered the number one in the lead or number two in the league and get the defense being considered the worst the artwork is typically believe. And it just took the job that he did this year keeping -- got focused and not worried about what people opt out of luck we talked about.

You talk about that game there are still players that are on the roster from that game -- I wonder if you believe that some of the patriots will use that. As motivation is a chip on their shoulder as they prepare for game a week from Sunday.

Yeah I mean you don't get to a point where you have to -- that Matt Light Logan Mankins Tom Brady Vince Wilfork Wes Welker all those gas -- and not. Obvious competitive person. So yes -- evolved in that locker room it would be once they get and I understand maybe it's only seven -- got. They played at 2007 suitable or maybe 90% the cut didn't doubles court got. It got that is main. You know it has to be a -- desire to get back on that field in part to dive back Jamal because -- let's be honest about it. They took away -- was you know very near and dear. Two I mean we were one game away from making history being considered possibly as the greatest thing ever step foot. You don't on the National Football League field sold -- something special I think that you know Tom Brady he won't commodity made it Belichick won't c'mon admit it. Crap won't come out -- but guess what they're thinking about that.

They even pretty critical London this defense throughout the year I'm just wondering if if you have seen any improvement or hasn't been may -- of the greatest teams they played down the stretch.

Flat out I've been critical of the second -- not necessarily. -- defense that they get time. You know I'm very disappointed at the secondary because you know you don't have to. Happening you know what I like they have such an exotic scheme where it's so difficult it's not -- the plane you know the plan based coverages. In a couple wants Coke foursome covered -- covered two it's not. You know very difficult. -- to play in that system and at times of a lack of concentration. You know things that you -- at the beginning of the training -- things you learned -- let things that you -- throughout the week -- basic coverages. And no excuse of this. You know -- our communication blow coverages missed tackles. Both put things that you can control as a football player and that the thing that really disappointed me because we were so proud of how law myself. It got like that on allowing big plays over your head that you -- that the easiest way to get beat so. -- see improvement now but even in the AFC championship game. You know you see a couple blown coverages and against Eli Manning you cannot do that song is the leader of that secondary yet to make sure. That everyone else lined up and and be in the right position but also they have to take you within themselves to have pride and not -- coverages.

You know everybody in their locker room sure understand you have a job to do I was wondering what is likely to -- in -- on on on Sunday. Being critical of year old boys if anybody needs Vince wolf for pulled you aside and always he said here on his radio show that sometimes this and you attendees that these guys. But not his clubhouse sometimes that the bush to -- the shut up.

He can't develop the setup but guess what it's our job to keep pocket and and and we can tell -- this but -- problem and we'll look elevated blood feud. He's 330 -- open up -- That's and you know it's hard adopted you know in and it wouldn't be fair to the fans who wouldn't be fair -- what do people that -- if we couldn't come out and speak the truth about the patriot like we do. You know 31 other -- and you know it just a matter of them not worried about what people thought that that locker room. Talk about because it really doesn't matter what we say and I'll have the principal amount inside that locker room at a Q what. Any want Chris -- 81 went out there and criticizes it didn't matter because. They're sitting in the warm studio where it. We're prepared and and we know exactly what we have to do to block it but the key is just play better football I've been you know people criticize you.

Rodney Harrison joining us I'm gonna go back the beginning of the year for 12 I know you were pretty outspoken about this did you ever get any clarification as to. What happily James Sanders you always spoke so highly of Connecticut -- lot of major players Rodney that -- he was dismissed so quickly before that season started.

No I didn't get clarification -- and look for clarification because Bill Belichick he always talked about. He's gonna do what's in the best interest of this team that whether that meant salary cap relief -- that is. Yeltsin and Dave on his way and open up an opportunity for young players that want him. But yet still can't still -- better team without pain -- James Sanders is the pearl. He outcome of the work you work very hard and and and strictly that's not my decision that's -- And on bill but I disagree with that wolf 100% because I felt like saint. You know he's the right topic got that you want but. -- the same time you know you can never second guess the greatest cold cervical.

But pierce your thoughts of them according being moved. Primarily safety be -- an awful lot the last few weeks. -- what do you see from him what can make him a great safety why didn't it work record.

Well he's not going to be a great safety that less. Don't don't say the word great okay buddy. Bill he can he can be of service both safety and you know he had some versatility a lot athletic ability and and I think moving him around a good idea because now we keep some interest to keep some intrigue -- And now you know he -- from the enemy complicated -- if they -- button with a and they're split and he covered kind of flopped Philip Carlo. Some different things that you can do you add more speed when you get a quarterback therein and the only thing that yet to be wary up. You know what the different vision being. In the -- have to feel compared to be up there on the left or right flap playing quarterback position but. You know one thing about that is he's taken a lot of heat I think the one thing he has to do just focus all the little things you have inside technique played you know where you're thinking they'll play you just think he felt that the problem. They're young players past they have speed they have that led them but they don't necessarily replace mark all the time -- that Beck culled from just being young -- raw.

We're not gonna say great safety but for firm according is that a good thing or a bad thing they moved the rappers development is this a sign it. That they believe Rodney he can not be a quarterback full time at the NFL level.

before that I don't think that stepped aside I think he can be -- Pro Bowl and he showed some flashes of greatness but I think sometimes as a young player you know when you move around a little bit you know it can confuse you and he -- believe Florida right now on a goal but. You know what if you put them at free safety and you moved John Cook. Just don't they got big Patrick. -- thank bill and you know if they start playing him a little more aggressively cut right now he's playing you know. A lot of zone he's not able to come up close to love and make a lot of tackles you cover in the slot. I didn't think I would I would -- all the vehicles I would utilizes Patrick a little differently than what they're used in the now. But you know -- according he's going to be fine he just needs to continue to work. Work and focus on the little things.

The lot of talk about Eli vs Tom Brady's -- of people -- you -- got a quarterback they take him in this game more Tom Brady. They've given by the -- play in the post season. When you stand on that as far as Eli Tom -- see this matchup.

I do think that you know most of the time win when Tom Brady would you know you look at two quarterback wanna to a game Tom Brady will clearly have the edge. And I -- can't say that Tom Brady had the edge in you and you put away everything that -- accomplished okay. In the past Super Bowl MVPs Super Bowl pick read everything that he's put up five that you put he's got on people. I mean on even playing you know playing field this year. And I don't know I don't know what -- give this too because Eli he's been fantastic this year the second half this season. And for the fourth quarter he's been clutch. He's been standing in the pocket sort a lot of poised patients showing a lot of confidence in himself and his teammates and I just don't know at this point. And we've seen the patriots struggle when Tom Brady's off just a little bit we've seen them struggle a lot.

Roddy -- front four for the giants is pretty good back in 2007 straight hands on Jason Pierre Paul is there. Is this a better front for this time around.

I don't look at the better from fourth very serviceable very good com fast athletic -- Paul he has really turned into a player. And he's not just the speed -- street would gather. You know -- he can play the war on -- and blocked field goals -- be he doesn't -- and just the versatility I guess to give the first game. The move them inside and played some tackle they had -- they had all OP plan against Matt Light. So they have a lot of versatility with these players and I just think if you get up and talk with healthy these next and other next week and have. I think if you don't blocked these front there's no chance the patriots went.

I know -- long way away and I don't know if you've gone there yet or not don't. I'm just curious on where you think this game is gonna go to give a prediction you ready to give out.

You won't you know what I'm I'm gonna predicted but you'll never know what to do a lot of Sunday night.

It -- give us an idea here exit you were -- with -- check this time a year or two weeks ago does any change with the head coach Rodney is writing different he does that. Prepare for this Super Bowl.

You know what I just you know I just think that -- like you know he's focus is really focused like -- the players I don't think. You know when you play the Super -- when you play any games for that matter that you know he'll he'll tell you they've gotten more video games doing the week cause problems so polite that you know -- playing dominos that type stuff but for the most part I don't think you should change your routine. You have to do what got you here in the first place and I think. You know if you start change in routine got it don't watch normally locked from the start watching -- laden films like -- you don't even do that stick to your routine. And and that's when you start creating variety in nervousness -- and now you try to -- scientists -- just be yourself and cooperated some money tomorrow.

Don't want to great things about those teams you played it would -- but the veterans the leadership. You know big visit their defensively. You see anybody else on the team taken that type of role.

I think to rob militant leader I think he's not a very vocal backing if you've been around of these cities you know somewhat quietly made his personality has come model will be at the top left. Have not been gone but Jerod Mayo definite work ethic guy he's -- you know have a great attitude very positive. Work each and every day and happy that song you know Deborah McCord -- I think -- have to be the leaders in the second gears so. I think they have a good course being built on a good job in each year they'll get better.

you watch the game the way it's played right now up as opposed to when you first came in as a rookie. How much different is the game as you watch -- from your -- there NBC.

Well first bought five I played it at this time I'll probably be sleeping at the -- your base because I'll be broke it is. Second it's. If somebody hit and I know understand what in the felt confident that try to protect players long term and and maybe -- try to protect themselves so they won't come back and -- Four you know these stopping his injuries but I think on the football and it and we signed up and we know what we signed up for. And facilities it absolutely ridiculous I think. You know the officials make these make these stately make -- call you have to hold them accountable to you have to start finding some of these officials. And making them accountable because you know that this is disappointing every -- look up it's a big hit. Somebody you'd find some it in this crazy at least some of legit. And some of them you know you need to -- to -- five but. You know -- to think more accountability about officials.

You say that and at what she's playoffs Roddy in my crazy that looks like the officials are. Let these guys play a little bit more some that musicality is that is allowed back in the the secondary in the playoff struggle we saw on the regular seasons affair.

Well I just think that you know when you start talk about playoff football I think just like in basketball NBA finals you know you -- what you gonna let the guys rough a couple of good because you know there's a great deal of emotion and excitement that goes along with that you're not gonna call TT tech you're not gonna call. You know to keep that flag stoppage you know that the got play in the and eventually. As an official you wanna come in and that the tall and say OK guys -- other than actual pushing -- make the play get up and go to your respective puddles so. Our I think it all depends on the officiating crew could each officiating crew had their own personality but. I think when you when you get the Super Bowl they have the best officials available.

Artsy promised to give your take before kick off week from Sunday your -- your prediction. Here or. -- lots at NBC will be in Indianapolis rod you'll see out there really appreciate the time today and let us reopen that 07 -- for a couple of minutes we appreciate your take results are good -- areas Rodney Harrison for patriot. In LC in my NBC he joins us on the AT&T hot -- AT&T. Forgy LTE was speeds up to ten times faster three GAT. And T rethink possible the guys honest. And a guy's soul. Oh so forthcoming with the opinion that's what I appreciate about Robbie -- that's why he is great great not good. Right on TV we dungy and Patrick and Peter King because he sugar coats nothing. He tells -- what he feels he pays off Vince he knows that his teammates here in this and every transcripts -- rather -- sale Rodney he's doing his job. -- gives -- his opinion without any sort of the pro patriot classes. And that's what it's awesome about rod he's made a great transition from the field in that TV -- Yeah at a fund both the Teddy Bruschi know deep down that you know that -- Of them talking is still gonna be adept probe patriot but the when there are some things that they don't like scene and run -- has been very critical of the secondary. -- you have to step up you can't sit there and sugar -- because that's team used to play for your product Jersey you have to tell me exactly thank.
