I good morning it's baseball too slow for you these days because it's slow and now. Therefore if they think slowly it is it is if -- somewhere here we consider the spectator I think that's where football has been so popular because. It's nonstop action so. Even -- TV with all those replace -- would you watch baseball right it can be a little flawed and I loved the game decides election. And I love golfers complain that but they're not the worst and local football baseball. Football life takes an in depth look at the life of one of the NFL's most intriguing coaches have you seen that took -- a preview that NFL films is -- I I haven't. You know a few people mention -- -- I think looks. Looks pretty cool yeah I have and I don't think that. It looks Austin fascinating in fact what what what you think well first of all you surprised at the bill did this because this is so. Out of the ordinary for him to let us have a little bit a -- site behind the curtain and yet from the two minutes and 32 preview we saw there's a lot of behind the -- stuff. Yeah why -- -- -- -- -- around for for awhile and would be his comment that He made routinely because. She really had great respect for an act of film. And -- -- and Steve sable and what they've done for the -- so. It's hard when they request something that that you won't. You don't agree to it because you know. The level -- -- cable that goes into it how they produces. The way that it shut is is always to make yet felt about looking great -- got to fulfill the spectacular whenever they do something. Although it's a global videos are incredibly you know when you watched -- -- late season. Even go back all the old -- NFL. A film stuff this is so cool -- I think when when coach Belichick got the opportunity. You know He He says there was an historic year for. You'll hand in terms of coaching it was -- historic year for the patriots but they have a fifty year themselves. I think those those two things combine -- that is where. Help make the decision will be easier for. You're a big part of this too from what -- talent some of them most fascinating parts are the exchanges between you and your coach. Did you and and obviously -- that was a camera digit when -- you consciously aware that it was there. When you're in this meeting and we can play the clip if you like on the in the meeting where you. Make a suggestion and He says good idea Nicholas. It's plays and we should feel like couldn't artwork stopped into the facts it's -- time. And guarantees. And that's surprise me I didn't know He actually listen to you don't think it. It's not very often. Are glad to get played about for the last time I heard -- that the good idea. Is. So you. -- it's different it's. We always have agreed to exchange information and I think those meeting thinking and I had. Are very helpful for me they always have been -- backed when -- coach and the quarterback. -- -- by powerful in 2001. -- to doubt confusing so you know he's he's really. -- to a coach and the quarterbacking -- coach in quarterback and everybody felt. He gets so much information that we -- in a meeting within that police do you take notes and emotional exchange Jewish perspective and then. Ultimately trying to incorporate whatever He says in which are trying to do up there. Why can't other guys do -- doesn't seem like it's so complicated like -- some kind of you know and rocket scientist a brain surgeon it's it's it's finite number of things coaches can do movement players here movement and then teach in this technique that technique. Why's He so much better than everyone else in your opinion. -- -- -- Iowa I'm an honest they had never been around anybody else so it's hard for me to know I mean what -- He is talking. In terms of defense and from the defense to perspective how they're trying to cover things how. How to take advantage of the weaknesses of each opponent whether that's as a fifteen or as an individual player so. I think his evaluation. For me when when I could that we talk about defense back. Nor lot of things to come does -- is okay well on this particular DB we're gonna run. Let's -- -- -- well while on the other side of the field the guy doesn't actually unclear but you can run. You know what we call opera where you push up -- -- the goal relative that you stop really quick verifiable receiver so. So familiar with the games so okay aware when we're on the left hash it out don't have left little bit later on display -- world on the right hash. We're gonna wanna stop -- so a lot of those little things that don't seem like much. And help you convert on third down which keeps the drive like which leads to another touchdown. So. Its its just a whole bunch of little things like that that He gave to identify. Bad. Yeah by other people may be able to identify them but. -- the waiting coaches the way they communicate in the way they allowed players to implement those things and -- game plan if he's he's great at that he's very receptive to what. I'm that what what what I have a traditional and it says there's just suggestion -- drug that's. Because you know He wants to see it verified on the field of practice but if you -- -- -- -- the president think the players didn't know he'll do a lot of times what you kind of go with. Talk x.s and those aside and cerebral concepts and scouting and all that would we be surprised to know how much of the coaching good coaches. Deal with actual physical technique. Because you said you one point a step into the -- throw on a scene with a linebacker to get a play defense from the inside out whatever that means is there -- lot of technique being -- at this level. There's should be. It's if it's probably -- quite a bit because the last time you're thinking about. Game planning and and they excused from play the winner out of practice. A lot of the times the coaches are thinking about technical work a lot of the times. You know the player is -- they don't wanna mess for the players technique because. Look the player got to this point in. Doing a certain way and if you start. A lot of times when you change your technique you have got a little bit by bit. In order get better or some version Beagle that works and there's not a lot of -- patients for that NFL because you're trying to win each week you can't. You know. A golfer that makes swing changes and he's off first you know performance well we play every week so. If you're -- bad you know you better you gotta work -- when you Campbell when it comes down to the plane you better place because you can't be -- torture technique quick plan. So a lot of those is that. Allowed those technique things that come my that you need to spend individual -- work on the -- And your downtime when -- off states. Thinking about that night seemed sort of you know from Heathrow and you know looking in the -- and forward you know you seem practical techniques almost working on that -- -- get on the field. It's second nature to. And what. Players see and know about bella checked at the rest of the world doesn't know -- middle get a little glimpse in this in this piece on the fifteenth but what you guys know and see that we don't. Well if He never want to give away information that's gonna help and other key. So whether that's injuries -- that game planning whether that. What He is stopped on a particular player are. And He He He just you'd never want to put -- sudden disappearance and so with it's it's the total opposite of what it. -- the people in the media get. When they have to question -- don't want nobody -- that you don't have separate. It's it's just part of it's philosophy and and that's what He really preaching about -- not talking about. -- injuries are part of a game or not talking about He would not talk about what position you're gonna play this year he'll let them figured you know you're gonna come out -- little plan to do it. So more so because he's gonna differ he's -- this -- -- let the other teams figured out so. We know we're gonna do we know and and by watching our opponents don't we can understand. You know what we have what we see -- perceived weaknesses and and -- visa holder take advantage of those things but. And we we never want to go into the game typically and I think that's that's what He preaches I'm not up. He approaches the himself. The other day Heath Evans was ominous -- -- call Belichick the funniest guy He ever met in his life. -- would you agree with that. It in my life -- analytical arch street fighting. There's a lot of funny -- the man they keep in you don't expect a lot of things that probably come out of his mouth. And and I've been around for a lot photographers jokes like twelve years you know -- the -- at the same time every year. So yeah yes funny got a great -- -- you. He's very witty and so smart he's. He's you know he's all the fun -- things so -- whatever. He does let his guard down a little bit He can be He can be pretty funny. Oh who's going to be around here longer and don't plan. With the patriots coach and with a betrays you or him. I'm sure it gets sick of me at some point so -- In still. Kudos go to battle I love playing and I love playing here but you know it -- it's a crazy business so. I don't I'm not sure it never taught him how would much longer He wants to coach -- And if there's gonna complain of playing at a high level then I'll probably be here when monopoly and I -- me more than Oprah be shipped almost away if it. Tom how is a week of preparation for regular season game different than a week of preparation for pre season game cause it's for real now. Well it's very different. I mean it's it's very different women in the in the preceding game then you probably watch. Over the course of the week and our film he's on the on the opponent -- you get that. You going to get much of a feel for their players -- their scheme He just kind of see some real basic -- the -- you talk about a very. Basically and then we're playing playing in the the -- from this week of I've gone back through. Now the last few years of notes so that they cannot I've seen from nine games I've seen -- -- All these notes you get into the details of the coverages for details of the players. So it's it's -- product it's that it's very very different every place that we're gonna read this week -- specifically. From the Andean Indian. In the preceding against the lot of the place you'll run and are just run them because you can practice that -- -- -- the patriot defense so you get don't have time. In the pre season because you're trying to install in -- and work on individual. Use and technique that you know I got scheme in place for. Particular defense so that's why I think I ever would really love to move the page or turn the page on the precinct and because. You really feel will feel so much more confident going these things knowing the types of things that you're gonna do and I think you're gonna need to do in order. Habitable handle. This this may be an unanswerable question about a gonna ask it anyway in do you have any sense or -- judge -- or wait two to assess. How much further be -- behind you were with six days to go until opening night vs a regular year you feel like you're still trying to catch up here. And who knows I mean that I have no idea at this point we will look you look at a team we have. And you know come on the night so. Look practicing and and and practices are great for football team and and there's no doubt we've had. Far fewer practices this year that without the past but I know we'll see how will see how we react to that that the -- has every team that's playing with a single now. So. We'll see how much we've taken advantage of which is the possible opportunity for -- if if we treated it that way if we had good practices which. You know we've we've worked hard we've we've been out there are guys guards have been up there every -- have gotten better and made improvements will well if you can't seem to have. If it Logan Mankins says Brian Waters plays like I do -- nasty edge up Robin makes a quarterback happy doesn't it. Yes heck yes and that that hope that whole front from find that we have and after they are the more intimidating -- -- -- -- look Logan doesn't take crap from anybody and neither does India does not like He was strong punches -- Channing -- for years ago. And -- Bryant in the same way over the course his career so. Look -- they have an edge to him back I think that's what makes those guys. Successful. Is when they take the field they don't they don't take any crap they they played the deck with a whistle and and that's that's how they continued to play and that's how they get there -- so more physical we can be up front. The more -- that we can be upfront commitment. There's there's there's no there's no. There's no getting around now with an offensive line on those guys over aggressive and tough and physical cause that's that's without parole for the whole team. Eight Tom Randy Moss told a reporter now West Virginia that it would only come back to play for one team one team only and that's the New England Patriots. That. Surprise you if someday you're prone and again. What it surprised me I mean you never know in the NFL and I I I talked to Randy just before. Training -- start and so. They're going to I'd love for -- these -- the greatest receivers in the history of the game one the greatest. Players I've ever had a chance to play within and I loved the guy and so there unfortunately I don't make personal decision that. You know I'd still have all my friend your Troy would still be here that David patent two year deal would never left -- You know it's just. I think somebody guys move on over the years. And they got to come back so. Who knows when those you never know what situation will be here -- Next week for for that matter. -- do think he's playing against somewhere he's your age I believe. -- he's 3435. I don't know I don't know he's He who knows I mean it's it's I can't get into his brain at all but you know I I love the guy and he's. The great friend of mine and if you ever did and would they ever did have dealt him to come back then. You know -- certainly welcome with a month. -- would appear to be abject panic in Indianapolis with Peyton Manning's injury and and missile status up in the year is that will well founded panic do you think based on his. Value to the -- LT. I mean he's he's my greatest quarterbacks. Ever play the game so He if He if he's now on the field -- It's. You know it's it's stuff for the league because you can European club it's your best player's on field injuries are. A part of this. A part of this game it's a physical game and then hit -- -- in an -- to -- as he's been in there it's incredible so. You know I I hope that he's out there openly. You know He plays well he's a friend of mine. About when He plays split but for the most part he's. He's been out there every game since he's been the star which is really remarkable and and what Brett Favre. Has done over the years is is -- -- -- know how hard it is sticking after the bell every time there's that there's -- game. And you know it's it's just too much metal -- -- physical toughness so. Has anyone ever explain to you Tom what the schedule maker has the patriots play in Miami in the at the end of summer. And in New England against Miami when -- throw cold would have access to do with the other way around. Yeah we've done that a few times. So we -- they they always hard disk changer not so they're not. That that would be a job that I want that schedule that scheduling because it's. However comes the epic comes up sometimes it's it's. Look I -- played them they are down on haven't come up during the wintertime. You managed. Well I mean is if we can if we can play well it's an advantage right we've we've certainly playing conditions felt. And they play in those conditions but -- we've played -- -- -- we played camp a few weeks ago try to get used to a little bit it's a night game. So look at it and they're going to be fired up the home opener they they don't have a very good fees on home last year. So I know that in a real battle cry this year is playing -- home.
