Yeah I would. It would. Very stunning you know because look like -- that had no hit stuff in the game last night I mean he really. He really was picked it well then all of a sudden the Albert warming up but what's going on here. Then I have my hope was that there was some kind of intestinal turmoil they like to call it around the Red Sox. But that was -- the case -- would go to the Latin that that. You know hopefully it's not going to be about -- hopefully it is something that you know it is going to be temporary forum. Because the reds actually can't afford to lose a guy like lepers but you know -- than the pitching is right now so. It's this is one that you hope that you get the Yemen today and it's nothing more than maybe a mild strain and he can get back out there as soon as possible.

I was really thinking of him myself and we know he's done it. And and is this is good they look exactly the same Q was he did and -- not a.

Yeah and eat he didn't need to put. And you shopping yesterday in -- in his last outing which was very good -- you know I get that the -- Philly yeah they had the you would be looked. I mean everything was crushed flat by the -- 9495. Is cut that ball was was brilliant. You know I needed Hughes had great stuff in the game. So what stunning that city you know when he didn't come out for the you know -- so I was warming up in the supple heart and obviously we didn't know one of the time. But you know what we said like -- that I just it's hopefully it did something mild and it's not going to be but it's like you model longtime like like book called the situation.

When buckled got hurt after that game he and you expect eagle on the DL he just expected maybe it would cost a couple of days. He'd get back in it but now he's heading to North Carolina for another valuation today and I mean there's a lot of concern around maybe. You know what we've seen what happened with Clay Buchholz with what. Like a mild injury and now with Jon Lester perhaps maybe hating on the same path that that's what's that what cases though it.

So cabinet that the case let me know I've been buckled to build a bit disappointing thing that you have to have had improvement and you know that's. That's concerning that everybody and that's why it going for another opinion I think he's already had to limit the back the same. But the fact that you have the many of the glove and you know. For all the you know and get on the mound and into the thing you have to do so. You know it is. That it is starting to remind me a little bit of last year I hope that about the case because. You know last year injuries destroyed the team. And what discipline right now that is the starting rotation and that's not a good sign at all. So. You know -- away and see what the examinations says and then. Fortunately for the Red Sox they get this you know it did before they all star break coming up next week. And that may help some of these guys give election time without playing games and a good time to heal up so. Do you know would -- again if this is sad thing is like looked as Patriots fingers crossed that that the both guys are gonna be fine.

Terry speak your rotation Andrew Miller had three starts and he's you don't wanna get too too carried away but he's been good to excellent and all three. Six foot seven lefty and it would do elect to step in against.

I know let's look out because they are. He's been good I mean he's been. You know we had a lot of obviously trying to and we -- a little bit -- spring training the end that they that's impressed me about about the that he -- Is his changeup is very good diabetes. Is that he's. He's got his fastball not Randy Johnson like its not 99. But you know he'd get it in the midnight he's he's cut his. At that achieved a goal that could -- ball goal that. And I guess it worked with his mechanics and they got -- the word -- right he had been walking people. And so I mean if he doesn't walk people his stuff is certainly good enough to win at the big league level immunized because you know he's good very good stuff. And and I -- the past had been you know walking a lot of people that has been an issue. Oh in the Red Sox uniform so. You know they may have piled up in the event that is you know gonna help the rest of the way. Down the road and you know bill hopefully into the post season so but he's off to a very good side and hopefully it stays that way.

Along those lines you'll see John Lackey on Saturday night and I know he's had some elbow issues that kept him out of the rotation for a little bit but. You know he's he's been back in -- doesn't look call 100% at this you know -- but. Is is keep -- Christie's on Saturday night do you think I mean based on what he's been able to do this year in the injury hat with the -- although it seems like. Maybe he's battling through that at this point do you think that this start on Saturday as as crucial as baby everyone's -- it to be.

Well I don't think so because. You know where they gotta go I mean if if you even if he doesn't pitch well. If he's physically okay. I don't see where they can put it -- have -- of them starting rotation especially now with the injuries. You know we're where they got to go to get more starting pitching let's say let them as a starter -- buckled continues to be on the disabled list and and they need immediate starting pitching so I don't see. We're delighted that situation -- Lackey. Obviously we wanted to better result that I obviously he wants to see better results. But they have you know these it would therefore a couple of side and then disappeared. And it is it is the big way -- the other day. But I don't see what other option they have other than -- these -- putting a lot of the simplest and we don't know that you know he has said that. You have said that he's hurt and you know we don't know we. -- he has he has been on the DL once this year. But the fact is who would blow live in group they have -- and they have no option. But the hoping he'd get themselves played out in the starting rotation.

Pitching -- jumped up as the number one issue but prior to that the right hand bat the right field black hole. Thing. And production you still anticipate that they have to go get some kind of -- him.

I think they're probably well as I -- I think they've -- they've probably been looking you know for some help out there because you know bid JD basically has become now. A platoon player -- pitched out of last -- against you because he has good numbers against them. And admit that tonight who also because I -- he has good numbers against Morrow. I've -- have moved Romero. So you know but I think he'll probably look at some help but they haven't given they didn't work out -- Mike you know just. Just couldn't adjust to be a part time player and as a lot of guys. In baseball who -- awful but I play as a whole career images that you can't do it and -- that was the case would have you know Baghdad regular bats. I just didn't sit well with him and he's just he tried but he couldn't do it. Darnell McDonald seemed to be coming around you know he.

Do you like his at bats later lately.

Yeah I've been much better you know immediately had some problems with the breaking ball and put you know can get the fastball usually doesn't -- that. -- and you know they had the home run on the road trip than the -- big play last night at home plate and you know it so he's an option -- obviously throughout playwright -- also when javy doesn't play so. But I I think they probably that the -- on the market demanded to see what's available out there. You're in the right handed bat that may have Pollack who it. Inducted also you don't play defense plea out there and in I'm sure that's -- they might be look at that you know go Cubs trade deadline. Or even you know have more pitching but below we'll have to wait and see what. -- we've been the result what these other guys -- as far as the pitching goes a bit if they're healthy they probably don't need anymore. But. You know and they don't and it probably focus more on right field but so let's see what happens and with. Is that I think I think everything revolved around his pitching staff right now.

But also helps that they got -- themselves in the lineup there I had to area that he was named AL player of the month yesterday and what a remarkable season he's had leader in 23 legs of the -- Triple Crown are used surprised at how he's been able to. Even just as the season goes on get better and better.

You know I I didn't I I never saw him play a lot the National League because of the time changing you know we just don't see a lot of Davey as the games and you know I always heard an agent Nadal is a great hitter but never really saw him the and to watch him -- everyday is just incredible. I mean he is he's one of the best and as I've ever seen. And easy. As I mentioned in the broadcast outlet by the one at bat that that'll stick out of my mind in the first after the one against CC sabathia. In the -- we -- that Ichiro when it hit a home run against but he's completely changes style. Just so he could you know get put inside fastball against sabathia maybe that's the kind of hitter he did. So he's been great all the way around and you know you've put that -- based upon him and with the kind of he would Ellsbury -- in the Pedroia has gotten hot. In front of him he's always good men on base -- fun of him and he does a great job drive an event whether it be with a base hit. All are just a ground ball to the infield to get somebody -- makes contact and get the job done and that's why you lead the league in RBIs stolen you know that the guy. The -- and even better that I you know that I that I heard. And it it's just kind of fun to go watch it did day in and day out.

And he's just a good player I mean you know the guys. The group to come watch a game I mean he's the kind of guy he wanted to play possible time. You do avoid whatever you have to do to try to win ball games so. But you know -- you know but he loves that challenge that is you know we are you -- pointed -- today -- that's that's quite a political beat today about but believe talk.

But the -- asked the manager member -- they're told them he had hit a home run 33. This third home run in the cleanup spot to tell a manager. I thought about that last night when he hit the ball nice and tight -- yelling managers running the bases.

Yeah I have been I've never seen that before in my life and I get about not seeing guys that are on yellow and apply that to make it out. But I do have to get a base hit and there was -- is that something only Pedroia to.

He's a firecracker at the -- that's prisoner in well they've won by the sixth Jerry but you know prior to that we saw the interleague play they went two for three against the Brewers obviously to and they lost the series the Padres. The Pirates the Phillies are you concerned about the way they played there or fact that they've turned it around it he's showing their resiliency lately.

Well I'm I'm more unhappy they came back with a lead off 540 record in I was little concern going at the Houston. Because the you know it just they weren't scoring drive them in of these you know this in the DH I think really threaten them. In the first part of that -- them because they went down used to complain about ballclub there were able looked. The turn things Veronica back by the foreign tobacco only what the game and have behind the Yankees so. -- get up to me that was the good side and now that the schedule you know it and if they were obviously Italy also outbreak -- a home. Played Toronto or Baltimore so you know it's it's slightly -- ought to replace people that read. Which would be a great and so I -- a road trip which got out of that -- You know it is this I don't know look like it was snowballing. And then use them thank god I was on the schedule. And that's with the Red Sox bats came alive because they've -- bullpen was not very good they were able to score some ugly games. And win that series so. It was you know as good as him come back with a winning record on a trip that out up they'll look like he could have been real bad.

Jerry or for that to go giving -- an exit question here in that is whether or not that was a good call or bad call at the plate last night. Jason Varitek made a play Jason Varitek in my in my mind may very well be the unsung hero of the 2011 Red Sox who would've thought that.

Yeah exactly right and in the united that he has it been the case we're talking about Cameron earlier you know what it's -- guys an everyday player. And and in some cases guys can't become part time players they just. Can't do it and bird second to embrace that and has been able to do it is playing great baseball. The play last night you know I was watching him because I I I knew the -- was going to be close. In out watching him setup not to block the plate Z and you don't strike out that left foot blocked the plate now. I -- I watched the replay I probably taught -- irons. And I don't I don't know honestly if if the the other put that in -- was over the plate I don't know. From the angle we had I couldn't tell -- you know it whether -- You have to put that on the -- not but regardless. When umpires teases either a block like that you know and and that is an impact he's most of the time -- call a guy out that we did last night and to meet. That's something we've seen guards that do you know a thousand times did you go to Red Sox uniform so.
