Patriots-Bills game was closer than we thought

It is the classic patriots Monday morning it is the Monday morning where we decide once and for all if USA football fans see the glass as half fall. -- the glasses half empty. You look at a 3830 went over the Buffalo Bills and you'll get to decide if this was good news or bad news and you get to choose for your own your own edification here. Whether a win is a win is a win or if there are indeed style points and a 3830 went over the Buffalo Bills doesn't quite give you the style points which are looking for glass half full glass half empty we'll find out today. -- is that going to be here numbers really happy to be. Talking last up all lighting guy yeah glass half full of trigger happy but would you -- You know -- give up thirty points. To the Buffalo Bills and I can understand all of the issues people have you look at the third down conversions to look at the passing yardage for Ryan Fitzpatrick. But I'll give it a sliver of hope I took out of this from a defensive point of view for the patriots because the offense was great. The sliver of hope is I saw some guys make some plays on defense and we've been talking about this for a couple weeks now thank you. I saw some guys make some plays I saw big -- I saw a big stop by saw a couple of interceptions. I saw some guy stepped up. And make plays that were critical of the time for this team's success I -- seen that the first two weeks. The outrageously talented in his contract. The outrageously talented Mike and Nancy -- Perino Friday. And we were talking about this we're talking about. Playmakers. At the TV series. Of NFL wanna know -- But playmakers on defense that's never I don't care about defensive rankings. A lot of people. Don't realize the patriots last year. -- the fifth ranked defense in NFL here right exactly really care I -- did not feel like a last your death like the top five defense they know not to me now so. Or top five defense yet. I can pick a game where they could make stops. I think of one game -- really. Still blows my mind against Denver. When they give up to ninety yard drives in the same game so. It's really about. Plays that change of possession. And they did that a couple times yesterday and that and that's what what -- Republicans. I saw and -- and I've actually been calling this guy out now for a couple weeks. I such -- -- couple place. He and -- Banta-Cain. -- gotten -- there was the one series in particular. And I think -- actually got credit for the -- could have been telling Banta-Cain but anyway. I saw -- makes some place. I saw meriwether make a big interception I -- -- with an interception in the end zone that's the kind of defensive play you remember later on. You say tell you play the defense made we interrupt intercept the ball in the end zone I remember that one and they had a few and. It's human ask you I was talking about. Highlight place or words like are you. You what you want that whole segment on ESP had jacked up now you wanna see -- -- -- and -- it highlights but. That's not what I'm talking and talking about. You're in a game and an inexplicable -- -- as it is. Yeah and a game high scoring game against the Buffalo Bills who saw back. Even if it -- going to be close game. I don't think anybody says the patriots -- -- thirties. And the bills -- authorities. So you're in high scoring aiming at the Buffalo Bills. You don't really wanna be in a position -- and expect to be in that position. But what what can you do to secure us secure this thing and the patriots. They figure that out against buffalo home. Paper -- -- you go back to then go back to last year -- Banta-Cain got a new contract on the backs of buffalo. And he was dominant absolutely killed awful. You go back to. I think you may have been studies first game back. Sunday night game ESPN the following. Adding to might be right yeah and or right around that time. And he gets. He he he he made some plays but Rosevelt Colvin I think. Made a big play -- second game against the build up to turn it around and then you saw yesterday as you mentioned. Patrick chunk of it of the big play bring to bear -- -- -- from the big play until they don't tell that they -- him that buffalo stuff. And put into other games maybe are. I'll give you another and it it didn't seem like much at the time. But it buffalo had a third and twelve -- in the third quarter third and twelfth Parrish gets stopped by Chung after a gain of eight. And then they missed the 51 yard field not the -- stopped. That the -- stop there which nobody even thinks about safety three points. Or maybe more may be saved his seventh but at least eight either three once they missed appealable right -- and twelve he makes the stop after the eight yard gain prevents the first down. -- they had that third and eighteen conversion in the first quarter where they'd gone forty straight plays. -- not converting third and ten plus yards and then in -- or radical right are they showed that. Buffalo picks it up. I saw some guys on defense actually make a. You plays yesterday what not what did you watch a game here or where don't know not a sitting at your own when he came away from it and this is value. Academy got to figure these things out sometimes like this to guess. See where people are going. You come away from this game feeling like what. As a patriots fan I was trying to figure out are patriots fans. Disappointed by this because they expected. You know Ohio State versus eastern Michigan -- would be partly element to express that that concern what -- damp but -- gambler. Some feel pretty good about myself today Buffalo Bills Buffalo Bills give me thirty points and only losing by eight and noble race of the pill. You feel a little disappointed that your team didn't blow up buffalo. Are you looking at it and sing the National Football League is Tom Brady said earlier you never know week to week any given Sunday on the cliches. Feeling that way. Do you say it's too early in the year. And now this really means everything thirty points -- given up to buffalo in week three. Might mean seven points given up the buffalo the next time they play. I mean look I know we're taking you know our victories and small little doses here the defense gave up two touchdowns they gave up three field goals. And then there was the 95 yard kickoff return by CJ Spiller they allowed to touchdowns. I mean look for this defense the way they played so far a defense that has given up an average of 27 points a game so far in three games. I'll take my my victories where I can find him. A two touchdown performance against this defense is a big step up from where they've -- William -- watch in the game at all when you frustrated as anybody now. On top so much to its it's because you felt like there's no way things about the I don't think there was any Winnick I didn't like it was a game either. I never thought they were in danger -- even though. Buffalo played buffalo played well. It's an entry through the ball great like okay good this I'm just saying compared to what the Buffalo Bills Malia is great but awful for for buffalo. CJ Spiller. Some some dynamic -- This this is weird and I'm never like this on what game. Keeps animus is highly entertaining game. And it really. Of the other way when the patriots are -- the Buffalo Bills. And all of a sudden it goes right we forget about the fifteen to ten. First game struggle against Miami that defensive battle and now we go. We go to the buffalo might be the one of the worst teams. The Western New York has ever seen and I've seen a lot they've seen some bad teams. Well. I think they are bad team. Or bad team but. It's a bad -- of pocket costs by five points to Miami. Why are we expecting. 38. Well I thought I thought that the offense was gonna score and they do it okay that part I got right. I thought the defense. I didn't think buffalo could score as much as they did now as I said this defense gave up two touchdowns three field goals and 95 yard kickoff return. I guess the erratically the defense performed. Okay and made some plays as we said he still gave up thirty points to the Buffalo Bills right I mean that's that and an -- and pressure code that they would they score more than thirty. This year buffalo buffalo I doubt it would there be another game they went when they play the patriot a -- I don't know all I would I doubt when they get the thirty or more. It's hard to picture is -- without offense. Even even knowing that that's Patrick it's a step up from Trent Edwards not a big step to make their. Yeah I I don't see port Chan Gailey looks like he's aged twenty years not. Or change daily Chan Gailey. Is missing a great opportunity. You have no chance of having that franchise begin a turn around until he gets stability at the head coach and quarterback position as long as you keep changing knows. I don't care about his agents just a matter of having done that job -- us army did I -- -- about his age because I don't think you can you can approach it with the same energy and vigor.
