Ifill but -- by the -- I like the Celtics tonight aren't you supposed to be given predictions on and what you thought was gonna -- Celtics -- 66. Games out. I like the Celtics tonight. I think they win tonight they lose game two on Sunday night. They will lose one of the three games here. They win it next clinics in -- engine winning games six and Los Angeles.
I've gone back and forth between. I think this -- it's gonna win. Which is unbelievable there's I don't mind telling you that. In April. Or march into what she'd come to the gym or and that was -- yeah okay. I didn't think. In March that they wouldn't championship and they can April when championship. I don't think after they beat. The heat the first round and think they win the championship so this is this is this is new. This is looking at the way they're playing right now yes -- they they're gonna -- championship. But my my debate has been going. Having gone back and forth between Celtics in five. And Celtics in seven. I've seen it yet five -- it decided it bodies into Los domestic -- five. That's a dominant. Victory that's a dominant series when you get the six or seven that's that's understandable.
What it means is that you took one of two bear in all three at home. Clinton can't win three home games none no no and three you you absolutely -- it's just hard for me to picture the lakers losing four out of five games anybody. They're that good and I and I am and course umpire what are what's the difference between five and six but.
Well neither one of them is is is a great team. I don't think the Celtics are great team on the -- lakers are great team compared to the look where where where Boston and the people LA they've seen great teams we've seen great teams. Compared to the teams that have come before them no they're not great. So that's -- say. I'm gonna go Celtics in an -- Celtics -- districts. Celtics when six.
like him tonight. I do like. I think I think this is the game where. And I said before I think what will happen is they're gonna start with Derek Fisher. On Rajon Rondo and I think he's going to be a problem forum and I think they're gonna shift things around I think Phil Jackson we'll have to make some adjustments after tonight's game. Because. Despite the fact that her three hall of famers on the Celtics roster. In my opinion the one player you've got a game plan for to figure out how to stop this team as Rondo. And -- yet seen -- much this year. He certainly hasn't seen him playing at the level he's been playing at least playoffs this he has taken his game up from the regular season.
I think we're on the verge of being.
Stood up.
Perhaps. What do you think the finals MVP is going to be Rajon Rondo.
I think this is his coming out party. It it has been a coming out here forum anyway first team all NBA defense All-Star selection for the first time. He has if anything as I said taken his game a step up when he got the playoff platform. I think Rajon Rondo is going to be the MVP of the of the --
If I don't -- let me let me back into this. And does prediction this way. In July on their -- date July 31. 2007. That's when you knew you would have. Kevin Garnett. Paul Pierce and Ray Allen on the same team. On the Big Three we adjusted at this playoff run by saying the big for you -- include Rondo this finals. Appearance this series is gonna remind you. Of how special. The Big Three. News. And one member of the victory already has finals MVP in policy years. And another one is going to be the finals MVP is already Allen would be my second choice going to be cagey -- is going to destroy. -- It -- He loves the talk of Apollo Gasol being in some circles in the best the most skilled big man. Left in the post season. I I think he gets up for this and all he needs to do. Is be healthy. And motivated. And ready for. And most seven games. But that way we talk about -- to this team up. All they're thinking about it. To be ready for seven more games. And then McCann went in the offseason we can take our days off the Nazis. If if I'm just going whip with Kevin Garnett. Versus Paul Gasol. KG skill set versus growth Gasol skill set -- of preparation versus casals preparation. KG desire to win in his aggressive nets versus casals desire desire to win his aggressiveness. They're both good and welcome it's great. Invested a great KG in this series so much so that can be your finals MVP.
The way I look at it and I'd I think it would be very hard for the Celtics to win an NBA title without any of the big four. But for the sake of our discussion let's say one of the big four was to go down and be unavailable. Who's the one they couldn't win a championship without. I think it's Ron.
I you know I think it is tickets I think -- kick for this series is cagey because. You've got those 37 footers got to worry about from Los and I understand that I I if they can't stop and that's that that that's one of the reasons. Phoenix really had no chance against the lakers and nobody could deal with those guys inside. The Celtics. Have a few guys. Who enjoyed playing defense. Somebody you know KG enjoys playing defense all the time so it has -- or she play enjoys playing at some of the time.
Yet for me the one guy they can't they can't win this championship without his Rondo and part of it is a he's really good. BI don't have any faith in his back up being able to propel this team through a seven game series I think they could piece things together if they had to. Without KG without Paul without -- I'm not sure they could win but I think -- they'd have a better chance of winning without one of those guys. And without Rondo I think they they would have no chance without Rondo and that's why. I would pick him as the MVP going in but.
Apart okay and part of the reason it's a good choice and your part Rondo. A Rondo is MVP. Is because you try to figure out who's gonna guard them. And it's hard to come -- with -- it's hard any become public and answer. There's something wrong with it okay right Derek Fisher guards a well this of the knowledge that Derek Fisher. I.s in his thirties and not as fast as Rondo. That's an obvious advantage for the Celtics come -- with Kobe Bryant okay Kobe Bryant. He could probably stick with -- Rondo for a little bit normal. He's also in his early thirties -- the 31 I think Colby is. And it takes Colby away from a guy that he would have a huge advantage. Take them away from somebody yeah. Re open the open now and then that opens up ray or opens up -- and the other thing that's -- the truth about the series.
You can a lot of love.
Rod. -- ever. We have the one championship. And he has won a defensive player of the year award but he's not the same guy who won that award. He understands the game we understand the principles of defense but at some point. You listen to your body your body says I can do that and -- that he can't do certain things that he is noted. He is not a he is not a defensive stopper so if he checks -- Appears might have to I have a thirty point game and or a couple of thirty point games in. -- as far -- gonna cover -- okay. Oh wait a minute okay so blog all Tom Jackson -- okay wait a minute so that changes you're starting -- exactly according to the texture. You sit Derek Fisher I assume he gets it Fisher right now is what Fisher this is what he could do. He knows he can't keep up with the -- and -- have the speed people Rondell put. Either very smart player so instead of trying to use stick with -- Rondo what he's gonna do what he could do with by the anticipation game. He's a guy who who love this film study. Models in this part of the reason such a smart player. From his film study can probably see some trends from Rondo where he likes to go away what he does at certain points in the floor. Try to beat them to a spots. Uses brain. To be -- You don't get a couple of office of files on. Get a stripper to for a moment he leaves the ball exposed to a certain position of there there are certain things that. That Derek Fisher notices as he's looking looking at film that's how you can. Kind of make up for your lack of speed versus his --
Couple of techsters who were taking me to task for my MVP call one of -- says nature showed what happens if Rondo goes down eighty KG for sure. And and another one says dale how can you say that out of the big for a Toronto they can't do without. When it's already been proven that it's KG with what happened last year. Answer both at the same time Rondo last year with the same player that he is this year I agree with you. That. As long as the starting five have been on the court this group -- never lost a playoff series and KG was that the missing link a year ago I agree with all that. I'm not willing to say that what I -- Nate Robinson do. For you know quarter of a game last Friday night that all NATO problem with Tony Rondo now.
And maybe the right answer is not a problem none of the above I said I don't know you can win without any -- and say -- I don't think you're you're in good shape if you are without. Any of those guys. I can't believe -- can't believe. -- step by this is the strong. This is struggling. Yea probably doesn't anybody columnist on. Gonna make excuses here I'm John -- Holley show. We we didn't just call on this morning religious. Stumble. Stumble upon mark mark -- can only talk to do from the LA times we'd set this up. -- was set up earlier in the week on him he made a commitment. It's in one. We are now declaring war on Los Angeles. At at at. War on Los Angeles war on the LA times.
Mark Chrysler I don't know maybe think that we're gonna ask him about. That the Twitter ward island says and not necessarily it would award to one way Twitter war. Bill Simmons on mark Chrysler. It's Chrysler took some shots. Bill Simmons today in his column and Simmons. Simmons tweeted about it but I nation just daddy he just liked the attention. Yes so this. Today today at LA times. Actually posted last night. -- Chrysler. Spent. Let's -- 40% of his column talking about Bill Simmons and how Simmons is wrong and his prediction on the Celtics. Joined the club. Mark a lot of us were wrong.
All of us. Number we started Tuesday's show. Saying in Marshall fans who thought the Celtics would be in the NBA finals when the playoffs started and I don't mean you know drunken bet with your body I mean you've felt it in your. In your heart of hearts. C'mon of course they're going to be in the finals I sure as hell didn't. Tough for me to get on Bill Simmons for saying he'd -- faith in the what what did you see during the regular season that gave you faith.
President's. That are shot. Chrysler takes it Bill Simmons. Deciding the beloved Celtics were gonzo Simmons the Boston sports guy. Who's rearranged score that made him a star at ESPN. -- school and I like that even if the right in the hall of faith even if the nation as a whole hates that team be worships. Wrote this spring I know the Celtics -- gonna lose around one so it goes on from the Icrc. It should what do those seventh and remark Chrysler I don't know. Mark -- is not feeling. So. He also had a good line here yet that we really -- to declare war on this guy a because he's that is upbeat because he's taking a shot the city. He says of course aside aside from the players everyone it's on the Southern California and New England is up for cultural clash. Prompting the Boston Globe's Bob Ryan to ask. How his hometown is thought of here in Los Angeles had a hand. Chrysler wrote. Hell with snow. Is how we could describe paper Boston.
Hell hole -- snow. -- to market I don't at all at. It's beautiful don't have snow anymore snowstorm become tomorrow here in knowing that we know that but right now. We think Summers a year.
So this guy not only. Has very little respect for the Galen -- award winning program. It takes shots at the city of Boston. --
That's. As a as a as a texture -- somebody from LA not showing up for the big game you're kidding all of I. Economic more where that came from. This is showing a lack of respect. The city of Boston. Deal. Which you guys to -- and a half and let lack of respect for the region. Needs all the hope it was where. I think -- messages. To ultimately that's true. It's his obligation. Check in with no English.
I I got you know because of because it brings that up a monitoring and prediction. That's Celtics executed him. Take it back Celtics I got a quick question for you that's right Celtics have thought that perhaps the sticker with the OK you -- a quick question for. Usually on the show tomorrow. The -- knowledge and yet. No I won't be here.
I'll I'll call all that are you standing up the Galen Holley show tomorrow. Now. And.
I don't know go to this is critical now because I don't you would be here tomorrow could not show that. At this point you've got to -- would be an -- you've got you here.
Big stood up is not. It is not going outside of -- olds you know a state. Team which I thought she would be here yeah at 1250 I told you she would be there now not -- don't you. Armenia on Newbury Street. At 1235. You're dumb enough to believe. You're dumb enough to go who.
And she doesn't audio okay she stood you up but he's in the believed in the first place -- and you guys up tomorrow now all. I will be listening at times to dale and Holley show. And you guys gonna have a lot of fun. Talking about -- celtics' victory.
