Red Sox pitching is terrible

Who would have believed that the two games with started basically the same time you can watch the entire Bruins game check in on the Red Sox you know during the the animations. You can watch the entire DVR of 24 skipping through the commercials of course. And when that's over still go back and get the and other Red Sox game because they might still be playing. Thirteen to twelve -- the pitching and defense working out Korea I mean I guess the good news is the bat broke out of very nice way and you found a way to win but. Man is the pitching. Performed far far below expect a. And so far which one of these pitchers you gotta be worried about one them yet you have to be worried about one which one has zip and last night skies of Beckett. Is it Jon Lester. Is it Lackey. Which guy would would would keep you up at night of you ridiculous. -- Red Sox it it's an almost mind boggling stat line and I give credit to Ed price who tweeted it last night. Through the first five games of this year Josh Beckett has a seven point 22 ERA. Through five games last year seven point 22 ERA. He's given up 3637. Hits this year gave up 36 last year. He's -- the exact same number of innings 28 and two thirds the only difference is his controls better this year he walked sixteen last jury walked thirteen so far this year. So I guess the good news is. Wildly April record it's identical. And you've got you know how well he pitched after that to hold up as that -- on the under the strain. I don't imagine back it's an assailant I was awful last year in April -- a look at that I was at its -- Okay here's the here's the bad news direct that is good news this happened last year any any wound up seventeen and six. And the actual season maybe I'll start doing the bad news -- he's not consistent Francies in the season. And and when people make the argument that Josh Beckett is not a true race. They have a point and they have a lot of ammo it's very easy to get new information is not their body can get it. He's he's he doesn't perform like an -- Purity here. And and I I can't argue it and if you say. Well he gets it done in the playoffs won't even get it done in the playoffs from year to year. The I don't answer the question which got animals -- about back Josh Beckett the other guy excellence. And and I'd be hard pressed to argue with I mean now. We don't have much of a track record with John Lackey so I don't know you know how we normally I know that he is 88 traditionally slow starter. That he's been hurt the beginning of the season the last couple of years so I guess you've got that to hang your hat on. I don't know why maybe I'm just I'm just being unrealistic here I just don't worry about John -- I know we sell into and I know is CRA is above six I just don't worry about Jon Lester I don't know why. Maybe I should -- so I agree -- -- back it's probably the guys think about this if you look at the Red Sox starting pitching. You've got Buchholz has a win. Beckett has to win. Lackey has to Wiggins. That's it for four wins to start premier starters so far out Wakefield has never ending Lester doesn't have any. Obviously Daisuke hasn't pitched or even have a neither. Damaged concern. It's a major concern. Now I don't know what that would have been they're probably not gonna do anything about this keep brought them up there. What are you gonna do you can say you're concerned about it and and and bring John Ferrell -- want to and watch a lot of video and have extra time but -- you gotta -- them. Dealt only the only the only thing that crosses your mind when you see guys it's like this good pitchers -- -- good pictures and puts his portly. -- -- -- -- Yeah I have no reason I I agree with -- that's that's the likely concern I have nothing to base any fears without outlook I think you. You probably try to work in an extra day of rest here there when you can and it got an off day coming up on Thursday so they'll they can do that this week. And you just keep rolling them out there and and you figure that he's gonna find a way to work through this 'cause he has in the past including last year. It's not like you want taken out of the rotation. And let's send Josh Beckett to the bullpen and up Wakefield start in his place I mean let's get real hero can. But it's just it's. I think that so disheartening about the Red Sox. Is that it's clear to me already I know people always say it's early it's early it's early it's clear that they're not the team. There's supposed to be that they were billed as they will not be that team. -- not BA eighty pitching rich. Sparkling defense. Team because they got too many have yet to many flaws. If it makes -- move here. And economic removes an April but they will have to make some changes. Cute to be to become the team. They wanna be that's wine and to keep up just to keep up with the competition. I and I agree with you there. Ironically unite we just said the starting pitchers have a total of four wins this year I know wake his left games with leads an all let but the starting pitchers have four wins. More concern about the bullpen -- in the starting pitching because track record tells me the starting pitching is gonna be okay. I mean Beckett is gonna get this thing sorted out Lester is going to be better Lackey is gonna be better just track record alone tells me that. Open scares me to death. -- -- And and the only real movie you've made here you've put Wakefield into the bullpen. I think Friday as the first -- he's available in the bullpen based on what Tito said. And you bring up the kid from. From Pawtucket supposedly tonight but -- of a perfect last night Lakewood and well yeah you don't don't give more innings -- your starter than you did. That's for the only problem is you Kitna put them into that situation because you got Varitek. Many Varitek can't catch. So that would be a problem but let's talk about along guy that was situation form. Starting pitchers get blown up after three and just bring in a guy we've taken -- who can change up the pace a little bit. I agree with -- and I like I said it's not like -- -- taken out of the rotation. All you're gonna do was hope we can work his way out of it because he has in the past same with Lester same with Lackey. I think Buchholz going to be fine. I and then in you know what may beyond just wishful thinking here. I think dice k.'s gonna be fun out of -- which we know why it's wishful thinking dale because there's so many positive things happening right now. -- -- Bruins wrap it up the series.
