What you guys and other routine. Generally speaking. It's Tuesdays with Jackie but with a Red Sox having afternoon baseball had to move Terry Francona Jacki very graciously agreed to move to Wednesday. And we -- over a second time because of bill ballot Jack but she is with us right now on the AT&T -- AT&T about a 3 G experience good morning -- Great Dario what's up what do you think is out -- you know something that's -- yes. Where you last surprised at what Steve -- pat -- herald today or or would you be surprised if doc is thinking about cashing it in after this year. Yes no not the politics speechwriter on target here to talk about the cameras -- talking to you. We talked about it up the air unless we I'll say this because if you say it yourself it sounds like you're patting yourself on the back so. No I don't know about I out exactly and the people exactly what happened last week last week last Tuesday -- in the Palestinian studio. Says. I need to tie up some loose ends on Doc -- story because you know he may be leaving after the season and he'd get a couple things confirmed. But I think there's something here that was a week ago so I know you're not surprised by edit documents and last week. But doesn't act -- -- OPEC got in the paper so -- bless them and put -- in the but I say about that so. I think that -- I think he's on target here and I think it's something that everybody in -- week has been wondering about for awhile. And guidance didn't think about orthodox -- and it. Okay with the kids. It could mean everything on the ticket built at all those private plaintiffs he goes back and forth to see the -- it's inaccessible 100000 dollars -- a year. And gladly pay you get to halftime of the Stanley. And and don't after a wild console with definite right. Do you think that's the biggest item on his checklist. Absolutely yeah I really do and yet did you need to target Austin is -- time. Very very counted it's it's gonna be an NBA player -- he's real real special talent. Not Jeremiah as the ones to -- to younger polite. And and I picked up close to make sure things go right. You know and I think times it's you know -- I transferred from Georgetown Indiana something that -- does not favor of and a Terry get to himself at times needed ties around market influence that is a little better you know what you do this as a parent. -- look at Michael you don't get compute it sounds too young but we don't know. All about and you know and it mattered to make their own decisions that that they expect a parent with one imports -- -- therefore then. And so. I think -- that this DA. Natural time perhaps if you were gonna step way to do it because we we know that it's gonna be some changes next year term I think he pointed out that a story can take. So that would have happened or not as a whole other issue but I think it's very very -- and -- -- for a get this in the papers that it's -- story. He had to evaluate Doc Rivers it embossed in. -- what grade would you give -- what number would you give them on the ten what what would you say his his legacy and Boston has been. -- eliminate and I know people are frustrated with him this year to and I don't understand that. Because it's not that great topic can Garnett started out like around and it's not Doc Rivers are -- Paul -- as pets and struggled because of injuries and that is not as young players along while preserving the integrity of the Big Three. He brought a and her ability to Austin I thought would sorely needed. I think what I liked most about him is he. Talked very plainly to the players you know -- -- G -- Internet tech game Garnett did not want to direction was in Chicago this week -- and and spoken like -- -- he did not once after that game against Milwaukee adopted to back. That's what we're Dylan and pretty hard to do the talking about an elite player like Barnett let what about -- if you like to play a key to communicate early has been the also makes it very clear that following -- and I might love playing. The offer to Ray Allen but I have to straight you know with Detroit -- that that's what we're gonna puke. I would that it decree has done a great job and not talk about in the past tense yet done a great job -- -- What he's -- need Internet communication. With under making it very clear to everybody understanding -- spots. Let's let's add up to into -- comes up to four. For the sake of our discussion only let's say -- decides he's gonna go home at the end of the season. You mentioned what's in the past that you wouldn't be surprised to see Kevin McHale wanna get back into the coaching ranks right does that add up here. I don't know I don't know. I think that might be picked Danny and difficult position -- Kevin are very different very close friends I'm not sure that -- because that exact -- Sometimes that the that the -- move. Attack can actually laughed when he was down. He's pretty comfortable with content -- right now. But I think given -- chance -- -- do -- don't -- -- might have other opportunities. For more populist culture is -- -- basic -- a lot of great things but he hasn't been an established NBA culturally for any length of time -- -- -- -- to instill in indicated it required of -- really been more prefer not to -- so it's -- Jeff Van -- current and so -- reach Johnson at some point that was -- what we really are projecting to articulate a don't think you know. -- -- being honest I think -- gonna think about him that he tired it's in -- long. On the murderous -- in the course he's thinking twice about whether he wants to come back -- he'd probably be thinking what they'll let anyone come back that he was childless you know. After the season that at -- to -- and on this but it. Is there any. It didn't have some really really strong candidates have to look at those two and you know we have to trust any that he would do the right thing. -- let's not talk about him in the past census talk about the playoffs that are gonna -- very soon how do you see the Celtics matching up it looks like is going to be the Miami Heat unless. The Celtics lose tonight conveniently lose to the bucks and in the -- somehow I'll find a way to avoid -- seven if loss of the season. And beat Miami and Miami but how do you see that matching up against the heat. Well I think that -- occupant establish that especially with spoken out and you know plainly to me. It hasn't been mentioned in the same breath as LeBron but he had the same capability taken over gained just doesn't have the same support -- I really believe the Celtics. Get past either Miami -- Milwaukee in the first round in spite of all the doomsday. They're too old predictions and certainly don't want of them that says that you know in this. As they struggle against young athletic genes but those young at vikings have to be really smart to. And I don't think Miami's quite as smart as -- -- young athletic teams that they at least. -- Taylor I made a mistake Jackie is I'm watching here and I can look back content that was just flat out wrong I didn't think it was possible for a player like Kevin Garnett to get healthier. During the course of a rigorous NBA regular season schedule but he has. He had and so your typical tasks so you know they're gonna be better off than they were early you know early in the year but is it enough to still have some -- need to make and I don't know at that time. It -- expect at least from everybody I talk to across the league and you guys don't -- When you address. Its -- its wallet. Right I let go I agree a 100% I agree. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Themselves up can afford -- -- -- that Celtics team and that's what this guy does. I'm gonna be furious where the heck were you during the regular season went on Boston my career -- and you're you're decide to save yourself for the playoffs so I think that's a double edged sword. -- -- You think Cleveland is the favorite show when the whole thing I mean I have to go to -- -- Absolutely do because you know like -- guy that was that was the lakers. -- and I guess it would amount to go now and that's finger code itself tangled. Nicotine now I thought to fight through the concede the shooting percentage is really separate -- -- he beat up we. We still don't know where into Bynum stated it's too late in the -- to have posed a question -- but more and more every day I'd look at -- and and they just he. Going along and connect they want I think in what people get off Mike Brown back finally. Why they always want to say well quit but doesn't go here Mike Brown got to go when people can say -- Mike -- doing it again. Never say that need to know that because LeBron. Because I don't care of course it's unfair but that's I mean yeah coaching LeBron and -- the -- might be the player coach there are times and he's a very -- -- an alpha dog we know that he's got a right. I don't know what -- Sometimes that makes you a good coach as Casey Jones once said you know it requires us to -- at the last play of the game to get the bottle -- everybody else Qatar the way I guess what that's good coaching. The the Cleveland plain dealer reported on Sunday that there are now hopeful signs for cavaliers fans. That LeBron wants to stay in Cleveland. At the end of this season are you hearing anything like that. You know what the one thing I hear about LeBron keeps Italy is nobody knows and you know why nobody don't. Because he doesn't know. I don't think he really knows that he wants to see how everything plays out and that the latest. -- decision and so if you're Cleveland cavalier king you're hoping to really well here in the postseason. I honestly don't believe that he made it is mind and I talked a lot marketing people without curious what they thought about it. And their feeling is you know and be grateful to go to new York and into all -- but that I did talk to. The aware that if he's gonna go that's gonna raise its. Q rating any higher could it be any higher I don't see how it collects and I think -- monument now the dot. Can run the -- he runs that's CD and you guys know -- count like that kind of slide in -- you know somewhere else. -- for the clippers and -- I don't know the post. And despite renteria is only -- Any team capable of surprising us at more in a positive way in the playoffs like saying one of these young teams Portland and Oklahoma City. It's -- -- even of Phoenix wins that would surprise him if anybody capable of doing anything special in the playoffs that that we're not seeing right now. Well Portland tokens -- road right certain southern travel. -- suggested that I wanted to that's record after the All-Star break and anybody in -- elevate. You don't really think they're built for the long -- -- it's hard to imagine winning the whole thing -- they just don't have all the pieces. They have some great role players like by the way Jared Dudley you know formerly of Boston College that is really really kept -- Internet hi there. I am all teens the biggest expect it -- Oklahoma City because. They're so young and yet so talent at the Westbrook can and Durant it's pretty good 12 punch and what we don't know yet is. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Eight that became their stage it is direct action indicated. -- -- -- -- That there will look a little bit but everybody starts focusing on any of the guys in the guys make it happen if you double triple paint so they're not that's -- -- in nineteen. You know what I like in it's rare it's when an NBA coach tells the truth. Gregg Popovich says who we kidding we're -- trying to avoid the lakers -- and nobody ever says that now it was refreshing to hear him say. Right well and in the -- -- which would be great Cleveland and then the -- it's -- haven't generated Donna that now has that you know he's right if it's -- I -- a -- -- One played out I really -- and and I know the people are gonna say they don't have the mental toughness and format that. I like what they've done I would really want at a meeting you know honestly -- -- Antonio spurs the way I'm gonna. I'm not -- I wanna play anybody besides that I think they haven't gotten there yet negative mode you know that does help except -- get some things step down. It aren't quite content over there though it's nice that they locked up Ginobili because place -- -- used to playing so well but I haven't had partner. Tim Duncan talked about overnight looking very very immortal it's certainly happened incidentally was well. It's about time for Duncan I mean I looked up last year to appear before us that I don't see any drop off. -- I saw near Boston. Easily crushed the Celtics and that's Sunday night awful game counts of first time elected Duncan and he looked like an old enemy. You get there really isn't nearly again a lot of my house members excited that a lot of miles on a lot of top basketball and a lot physical basketball you know he's an account died at the -- away from the basket so. Can you -- -- help me understand why the Celtics have apparently tried to occur our on the verge of signing Tony Gaffney and Oliver Lafayette here. Now I don't know young athletic players and practiced. To prepare to young athletic teens about I can think of. It's not like you're gonna see I'd answer though I don't technically their playoff eligible -- democracy the minute game. Not thinking you -- -- to simulate in practice for the young athletic players they cheer up the up against mr. having traveled to the -- type the word on the street it goes right after Celtics go right back Kevin Garnett. Packet and we've seen happen over and over -- KG did great possible percent of what the best I've ever seen but -- and on the pop standards he's a bit of you know I don't see a -- I would never say that but that's made his Achilles -- the world because. He's still work into that -- is -- still a little bit of an issue so that's that's the -- report. Attack attack attack right now and it'll go right out of. Jack get the sense that you know fans and media we all say. The Celtics really should -- fought for that third seed have to avoid Cleveland in the second round at the fortunate enough to get to the second round. -- Celtics don't see it that way at all. I mean they they don't care they don't care to the foresee that. Is that -- is that being delusional is that arrogance is that their confidence of winning a championship a couple of years ago what what does that your -- I think that they decided they had to make decisions probably about a month now. What's the most without. Number one priority heading into the postseason and what they determine what we gotta get these guys is rested at the healthiest it's hand and it's it's gonna cost that's. You know the deceased decreased he purchased the forsee could still be because I think their feeling -- -- you can get there. You got beat everybody anyway. So let's give ourselves the best shot by monitoring minutes here you know and again it's it's so much -- the bulk of Garnett and trying to get -- -- But you don't -- that concern -- Hip surgery. It and it certainly can understand the -- shrouded in secrecy in if you look at this like the top of the morning Seattle okay. We saw the same result you wouldn't be your probably you've stolen -- but we'd be talking about it constantly told to think. We understand that it don't really understand exactly what went wrong with KG in the -- -- nebulous topics so as a result. We don't quickly we forget to protect that this guy is working through -- -- didn't -- major surgery. Need to work into it until I think they're trying to resolve build around him and getting him into healthy as they possibly can't. Hurt you know the first that the April weekend of April 16 to seventy and I think that took precedence over everything else. It'll take 33 and a half weeks to play the first round of the NBA playoffs and it -- -- into. It tries to get it drives me crazy especially you know coming from a hockey background where you play every other day and you wrap this thing up. Right right -- talked you know made for TV there's so many different stations in the -- at the end and you know the Celtics have like thirty years -- probably not gonna be one of the marquee television matchups which means there. Not gonna be top priority primetime. They're not it's not necessarily it'd be it. It came that they absolutely have to get on a year that's gonna go to Cleveland Cavaliers and Orlando Magic in in LA lakers and things like that so sometimes that's an advantage and sometimes it's -- disadvantaged. Always fun to talk with we will talk again next Tuesday by the -- Tuesday next week I don't think I'm great thanks -- guard Erica thanks -- -- take -- -- -- -- -- -- Tuesdays with Jackie she joins us on the AT&T outlining AT&T -- three G experience.

Cleveland Indians hottest team in baseball, yet remain last in attendance May 19, 2013 By AJ Kaufman 6 Comments There’s a scene in Major League where Bob Uecker, portraying the radio voice of the Indians, bemoans, “In case you haven’t noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven’t, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.” Well, that was nearly 25 years ago and fictional, but today’s reality is that Cleveland has won 17 of its last 21, and currently tops the AL Central with a mark of 25-17. No one in the majors is better than the Indians in the past month (20-7). That’s great news. The bad news, however, is the Tribe somehow remain in the MLB cellar when it comes to attendance. How can this be? The fact that I wrote on this same topic almost to the day last year – when only Tampa Bay drew fewer fans than Cleveland - may be even more troubling. Though roughly 34,000 watched a walk-off win Friday night against Seattle, perfect weather and free caps weren’t enough to draw more than 36,000 Saturday and Sunday combined. What did the Indians do in those tilts? They nabbed another walk-off win on Saturday, then the Indians crushed the great Felix Hernandez Sunday behind Justin Masterson, arguably the AL’s best pitcher right now. Fun fact: The Indians have already faced eight Cy Young Award winners in 2013: Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Jake Peavy, David Price, Justin Verlander and Hernandez. They have won seven out those eight matchups. Simply astounding. This offseason, the much-maligned Indians front office finally made a legitimate attempt to improve the team through free agency. I’m not talking an Ubaldo Jimenez-like trade, but rather smart acquisitions that brought veterans Mike Aviles, Michael Bourn, Jason Giambi, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs and Nick Swisher to Cleveland. In addition to being a fantastic place to watch a game due to great egress and ingress, with extremely affordable tickets, the best promo lineup anywhere, Jacobs Field boasts overall, cooler, less muggy summer weather than most Midwestern locales. The team also lowered beer and hot dog prices to $4 and $3 respectively. What other professional stadium in any sport offers that? I have visited 28 of the 30 current Major League Baseball stadia, and few top The Jake when all angles are considered. I say that as a baseball fan, not an Indians fan. As for the putative “economic” angle, these are the same people who spend insane amounts of money to watch terrible football every fall and show up in decent numbers for putrid basketball in the winter. Irrespective of season length, those sports charge up to 10 times the price for a ticket, and the atmosphere isn’t half as fan-friendly as baseball. I understand fans’ lack of willingness to get on board to some degree. A decent recap of Cleveland’s decade of “rebuilding” can be read here and the team suffered a horrific collapse last August. However, in addition to all the benefits of attending games at Jacobs (now Progressive) Field, fans should also realize the team has potential and often exceeds preseason aspirations at any point without warning. Cleveland hosts the rival Detroit Tigers — heavy favorites to repeat as AL Central champs — Tuesday and Wednesday nights before hitting the road. The temperature should be pleasant at first pitch each evening so you’d expect The Jake to be full to watch the best hitter on the planet right now — but don’t count on it.
