I'm in my first instinct to be honest this to start with the NFL and the uncapped year in free agency and that. Jets make it a big trade and that -- about to make not one but probably two big free agent signings. What you heard grapes in the open and I heard grapes last night night I saw the stunned look on Mike Milbury space and I heard Andy -- afterwards. I love grapes. I love talking to him he's funny he's he's a blast. He is so wrong on this thing well.
Just before we get started on a big game James we have the entire. Do we have that whole clip. From -- but let's just let's just distill it for those who didn't who didn't see it who didn't hear it. Have I've heard bits and pieces of -- let's just. Let people know. What grapes -- had to say.
It is quite cover it up I don't look Connecticut and others you know you wanna get a good look at -- now because of what -- Tell you what you futile lot of flight flight but don't do it -- that point and -- and this is what he did. Right -- that's the trouble with the Bruins. You don't hit. You don't win -- you know you're gonna be able to listeners you're gonna get we'll play. You go right to vote Houston or Fort Hood community to get yelled -- what noble -- No smoke free. No it's -- he's a good hockey player put it you're gonna play you know when he's not utilized in the provided you don't want the -- provided you float your serial. We'll look back and a few months ago it yet you're gonna get to play he's right behind the -- that the disgraceful book broad. It's worth it to start. Oh well like. To do it and this will be my last time ever -- good enough but if something happens like that that's -- be no.
I love grapes and and look he is he is has big media personality in the country of Canada as anybody you could name as I've said before. He's the John Madden of Canada he's probably bickering candidate -- John madness in the US. He is so wrong on this he is sold out to lunch on this that it was embarrassing listening to and I love. He is sold wrong here -- a couple of things involved here one. And I have a real respect for top guys in the National Hockey League tonight I don't know how they make a living doing what they do but I. I I have a soft spark spot my heart for them and I have a real appreciation for what they -- There's no other way to put this is a cement okay. He can do one thing. And one I think only he can't do anything -- on here he was a he's a surprise that big fighter he's great -- is a great fighter and he can't do anything else now I'm not surprised Brian Burke has -- steam. -- he has a real appreciation for that type of player as well. -- nor challenged me on the -- Lucci to bolt to his credit and to his detriment. Did what top guys do he accepted the challenge. Eight he should be fighting anybody write anybody. I don't think his leg is right yet his ankle is -- whatever is wrong there I know his hand isn't right. He's he's had a broken hand already the last thing in the world he needs to do. Is blasted that hand off the helmet or cement head of Cold War he shouldn't be doing it at all. He accepted the challenge he did the fight. It probably got his head handed to him because he's not really supposed to be in this thing right now but he yet -- he even if he is -- and probably -- head handed to him. It's called nor. I mean -- anybody -- cult nor. Not Manning now he's pretty good -- Fargo was apart anyway but to his credit he accepted the challenge any yet. Now it was over. -- or didn't want it to be over. -- La Lucci each wanted it to be done he would he would Donna he would autumn they had stood Toyoda told they had gone. Head to head with -- each other it's all over in Colton -- didn't want it to -- is wrong. He wasn't a Howard. He didn't back down he didn't look for work for -- linesman to separate them like probably look for linesman because he wanted it to be over but he didn't look for linesman because he's account because he's a power. It was over. And and outlook I have. I guess I get upset because I really do think -- look -- and it's as critical of this guy is anybody he's had a terrible year this year. I think it's physical. I think he's had physical issues he has not been anywhere close to the -- on -- cheats that we've seen in the past and I think that's for helping to hurt this hockey team a lot right now. -- We're gonna start kill them because he doesn't stand there and take a few more punches to they had from coal nor. Hello Zdeno are. -- somebody else on this team to step up and and excepted challenge. He's the last guy you want fighting right now he's coming -- a broken hand -- important to his credit will step in and deal. Steve bass -- tries or tried he's not capable -- never does. And he's the one guy who showed up. He's the one I.
it but these are what we were talking the other day. And we're talking about a great defenseman. In the NHL. And it has has Chara but work the money hasn't been great. And you know a couple of people -- and I can't think of water to defenseman that level while more than Zdeno -- is that part of the package though is that part of the package that. You have a guy who every -- that what -- just like fighting in the National Hockey League or not. Gotta have a guy. What are your best players -- what now what nine Melanie best buy what you are tough guys have to step up. Today don't chart doesn't know what he's does not escape he never fight you fight he did and as a pro. I was talking this guy's record and anybody on the -- stronger than anybody on the -- in better shape than anybody on the ice.
I was talking -- on the hallway earlier today and LB and oh look he made his living the way Colton -- makes his living and he knows what the what the etiquette is and what the protocol is. And he said to me I would've known going into that game what Colton -- was gonna do. And I would have three minutes into the game I would have gone and challenged -- war. Which is what Zdeno Chara should have done -- important should have done you know he was gonna do what. You knew that Milan -- probably shouldn't elect to his credit he tried. It it. Kill the kid because he's having a bad year if you want. Don't accept excuses no excuses I don't wanna Mary's hat he's had a tough -- physically he should be playing better to let's stop if you want. Don't kill him because he fights -- nor and then decides you know what I've had enough of this.
Hollowell unless they want him to golf on on -- nor is a cement but unable keep going until the linesmen make him stop but -- fair. You know you know. Milan -- teach in the situation. Better and better than most people okay. So you're here you're in Boston you're looking at this guy you've been keeping track of -- season game by game. Of the -- another city if you see that fight you're in Los Angeles or Chicago you see that right. You might come to the same conclusion. Gregg Jarrett it last night. -- you gotta admit it's a little unusual. To see off her call up the fight.
Usually somebody else does that -- you don't usually I think that that was the pricing -- each they had gone for quite awhile. And and they got separate a little bit and I think Lou -- thought they were gonna step in at that point which is what they do. 99 times out of a hundred a linesman were slow they didn't -- so cold north things well what the hell they're not happening yet let's go again. And -- cheat at that point was wondering what acts going on here.
But if you could see that happen the you have insight into into a situation. But do you see that happening in another city that's the Rangers in the islanders -- at the flyers in the Red Wings. And you see one guy continuing to fight and the other guy backed away what conclusion which it comes to. Can't call the guy or. That that's the that's a lot more personal in my opinion which you can't say. Up I -- wanna fight.
Let me ask you this and and a text right off the -- sorry -- Dellucci -- quit he's an embarrassment if you're injured and shouldn't white walked away okay let's say that -- it's. Cold -- challenges them. -- teach walks away that's what the techsters says walked away. Scrapes cherry say that. What does Bruins nation say if cold or challenges Milan will -- any turns and walks away I don't wanna fight you know yup but what do they say -- bottom. They say he's got policies that how Marty doesn't he doesn't care he's afraid. To his credit he knew what was common and I spoke -- and took it -- life.
If you gotta do that. You gonna have to a year at a disadvantage anyway let let let's let's. Let's make it clear you're at a disadvantage even if you're 100%. Against cold nor. Right here at that -- he -- fight. Yeah -- if these holes are helping -- but called market relief and that's what he's done at all it's it's how we makes his living is a boxer. Everybody yeah. Anybody the boxer the street -- whatever you -- aren't. I had an opportunity to talk Don King yesterday Don King would like to promote cold -- that's what he has he's a fighter. So -- got a disadvantage their what's gonna get to once you engage. With cold nor. You gotta do something it usually punt with your left to end -- the -- to -- him use -- to -- right yet on the left. And you gonna have to stand there because it is if you gonna follow one aspect of hockey protocol. Can't ignore the other --
He did he did stand there they did go no no no no no -- what you have to do what's your debt yet which candidate.
And it.
I just saw the fight Michael. It really looked like it then of course and and a linesman didn't jump in the way I normally do and I think Lucci was a little surprise. And I think or was a little surprised he's about what the hell they're not gonna stop me let's go right.
Exactly that's -- to do. -- or late which you have to stand there and and and take you even though you're at a disadvantage Jimmy can't. You gotta you gotta pick one side. If you say to yourself I'm hurt. And I just got no chance against this guy. Well. Then you don't find. Out -- you know what he gets killed work aren't aren't I can't understand them out all I'm saying is you've got you you can't. Play both sides of the fence. If you're not gonna fight back to -- take criticism. If he challenges it challenges you to a fight and you accept the challenge then you have this fight to completion. While he thought he did and then when the linesman didn't step in pull nor decided it was round two. The linesman to those -- in the fight is over. Well sometimes the fighters to -- in the fight to solve problems at one what is the fight and you have your city guys okay that's an. Yeah absolutely I just I've seen a wider I -- fighters and it absolutely evident and then that's when it's -- yeah. Seeing guys in the fight before the absolute the linesmen Don and I have seen and they both walk away.
Where where you know they've done what they're gonna dill and it's almost like a mutual agreement type thing it's almost like. Hey you know what that was ago when good job and and I've seen guys turn in and walk away before the lines may even get in there.
It bothers me that a guy who like pink is playing hurt to begin. Is not having a very good year but I think is giving. At least most of what he has to again. Gates killed by Don cherry on the -- and telecast and boss gets killed. -- callers to sports talk radio Iowa and on -- I think that's fair because. We all of grapes we -- personal. Jacket off the charts great. Option but sharks I love I love -- special jacket that's fantastic. Andre 3000 you've got nothing on -- okay that's true but. Just because we love listening to a -- and love watching them. Doesn't mean that we agree with everything the BS's they had big Bruins fans have their own opinions. Independent of great year. So if if your Bruins fan and he says that you agree with our heroic. If you disagree with that. -- because he says Milan Lucic in the coward of the mean you feel the same way.
