Also last that we all tuned into watch some Olympic hockey as the United States to gun candidates in a border battle up north.

From the new -- world headquarters building deal in Hollywood -- Sports Radio WEEI. Yeah it's. Not -- is that the greatest play by play announcer for hockey. In the history of the planet. That's the greatest empty net goal I have ever seen amber. You know what if you think that's the greatest play by play guy -- jockey -- in -- hockey and hockey and and lot of people agree with you. You're gonna feel good about this I'm not making this stuff. Saw god the other day themselves weasels. And the sales wiesel asked me if you were doing Olympic hockey. Well believe me -- I'll -- Thought it was view a a a obviously not a hockey and -- evidently not now. But you tune into the show everybody that's. Obviously not so -- showed very worthwhile. If you don't know that deals on the air every day but he thought thought you were doing our. Well it is the greatest compliment I can ever be -- and believe me when I say I'm not worthy of that one that that.

Is as good. As any sporting event can be -- was -- great game on the great game was a great way and even though didn't didn't get the US some battle. There's a long way to go before the US Olympic about the gold. There's a long way to go before we start calling the Canadians flops. Naked -- still in the gold medal game yet you know the harder wrote now but they can be. Yet they can they can get there. Now they've they've they've been disappointing so far yet losing. Their home. It's -- it's -- home every game as a home they needed a shoot out to beat us what's Switzerland. -- shootout yeah. And the US handled Switzerland and in the Canadians needed to shoot up to beat them yesterday. I mean there are. -- on the ice like a football. Huge gap if it's like it's like the the big boys versus the JB's and here's the key to winning last.

In addition to back -- the automatic bye into the quarterfinals. Where the US would only have to win three games to in the gold medal candidate now has to win four. Because the Americans are now the top seed they can't play Canada or Russia except in the gold medal. Right and you know who who candidate might have to play before it gets the gold medal rush Russia. The other I -- I mean there there are three powers in this term. Three real powers of the US Canada Russia. And there are some other teams that on -- of that old cliche on Andy and I night tightening and goaltender can stealing game and stuff like that but there are three hours. And I think Canada's gonna have to play one of the theory if they wanna play the US in the Goldman. That question it. As as I said to somebody last night on a on a night like that. I don't feel like I have to apologize for my sport and sold off when I feel like I have to apologize. You know they do dumb stuff and -- shut down it locked out for a year I mean I am always apologizing for it. I was watching the commissioner last night on not MSNBC. Post game thing like quarter twelfth. And Gary Bettman says this is what this is what -- our games like no it's not. Gary if you took your team's. Thirty teams in the NHL and you cut -- half. It took all the players from the thirty teams and put on fifteen teams. Then it might look like value to close.

But then as I said before I've asked you this question many times. -- of the NHL just adopt that international hockey rules. It would not be too drastic and I lot of difference what I don't know I don't always -- to -- difference we can't you -- and by the way that's not the bigger -- That's not the Olympics Ivica because they're playing in Anglo America right playing in the NHL sides were ranks. What I'm saying though with that there is a huge difference between Olympic park in -- There are many change alzheimer's would go crazy can you imagine. If you went -- Olympic hockey rules and somebody gets -- to a fight they're ejected from the game that's that it -- a single biggest and that's a huge difference.

that and that's the one there aren't many others I mean they're weird little things if you're -- shoot out if you're gonna shoot out you can shoot more than wants. Russia was in a shoot out our earlier in the week -- skin took three of their shootout shots. Was one for three in the shoot out that's a huge difference --

Or -- I'd I'd I disagree with you on this. I think the changes are pretty significant. Icing icing rules a little different. In international hockey right and it's like a college rule where you don't touch it. NN how about how about the the goaltenders have a lot more leeway they get trapped a -- behind the net and a lot more potential to make mistakes as you saw yesterday from Marty brought.

Well ironically the Trappist Lloyd was originally put in by the NHL because -- Marty Brodeur the greatest puck handling goaltender in the history of the NHL. And I still believe despite what you saw last night I still say he's the best whoever played the game at his position. He already owns most of the records when he's done -- on the mall at and I think he's as good as it's ever played. -- back and great experience and 29 Anheuser ally in Erica Hahn and play using them the guy to go back and got our form -- it does. Say they are massed in the guy's dead and where man plot. He was very ordinary last night. Ironically the second Rafalski goal came as a direct result because of the great puck handling goaltender Martin Brodeur mishandled the -- Didn't get it out of the zone like he was trying to Rafalski kept hitting got the wrist shot by them. And then that Drury goal I mean just don't see Marty Brodeur flop around like that. Flop and endive and and as my old friend -- be used to say if decrease wasn't frozen he'd drowned. And I mean I'm thrilled he can't play like that. -- planned that way because Browner. Known -- opera I'll I think a lot of it is is part.

At a spread I think it's very simple -- is something you set up the top talent. At least it's an armed -- you're here you're not gonna face. A team like this in the National Hockey League. No matter if it's the Pittsburgh Penguins that the Red Wings anybody you name the most talented team -- National Hockey League. Marty Brodeur is not gonna see the team like this in the playoffs are in the regular season many teams are stacked.

Think of it this way Patrice Bergeron is the best player on the Boston Bruins in my opinion. Can only play six minutes. Or team camp. I mean Tim thomas' you're number one goaltender -- erratically and gambling at all right. I mean think about that talent level of the east it and get me making your point even further. I mean these teams are stacked. Marty Brodeur I promise you can play as well as Ryan Miller he didn't last night Ryan Miller so clearly outplayed him. It if you told me Canada and the US we're gonna play in a best of seven series first -- would be the most unbelievable series anybody's ever seen I would take Brodeur every time. Now last night he got -- you got outplayed by Ryan Miller from start to finish I won't say Miller stole a game but it was Clark's. If you told me those two teams play a best of seven I would take Brodeur every time in Canada won -- twice as many shots and oh yeah well like north forty some opened a twenty something it was unbelievable. And -- Miller with spectacular. Last night. I still would take Brodeur if if you told me in fact I taken in any match -- legal -- any time. It just works out last night Miller was better than us now from this point forward. It's it's winner go home.

Yeah I mean it was a it was a great win for the US there's no doubt about that first win over Canada in the Olympics the but the since 1960. -- beaten Canada before. And they beat them in the 1990s but that was like the world cup of hockey or some like that but it wasn't the Olympics. Last time they beat -- the Olympics was in California fifty years ago. So that is that is significant -- really get Cleary was playing on the team had to get significant with with an asterisk possession said. There are three world powers why don't wanna go crazy and say oh my god. Can you believe the US beat Canada with a US's as it is very rarely been in position. To have a lot of pros going at Canada's bros. There -- some terrific players. US born players in the National Hockey League and then there's some great of course a Canadian born players and NHL. I think that vote the playing field as a little more level now in 2010 than it was in 19606467. To. Keep going up the rotten rat right years at that it makes sense then. -- it just there was no comparison. Between the US candidate to talk about there amateurs versus our temperatures now you. Introduce our pros versus their pros capital pretty good about we're still behind that we're behind them run a pretty good about up.

It was just by the way I I learned something this morning already from the people on the text machine here. I would have no way of knowing I I was complaining about the fact that I watch the game and -- death. Evidently Comcast does have MSNBC on high -- What it's not that 800 block of high Def channels according to some techsters it's up in the nine hundred's where nobody would ever and -- to find it. So I could've watched it and idea last night I didn't realize that so I you know. I was knocking Comcast for not shown it to me an idea I guess I could alleges did not mortal. Which reduced its award ventures with her -- like when they got to the last high Def channel I think that's it just giggle as -- was up there. Let's -- those would have that's where those adult paper views are the -- those are lower what do what do Columbus then. Just ops yeah I got to go. It was just it was so much fun to watch it was. I didn't stay upper in the sweet and NC. I watched Russia and the Czech Republic -- given an idea I did watch Russia in the Czech Republic in it was rate. And then you know followed up with USA Canada rate. It's just it's. It's as good as it gets that sport is never better than what you saw last night. Seventh game of the Stanley Cup finals is not better than what you saw last minute break in the united sort -- recognize it cannot -- because they may need to calm down because the seventh game of the Stanley Cup finals may be intense. He may be action packed. But the level of of talent on the to a Stanley Cup finalist teams is nowhere close to the level of talent of those two teams last I do that -- you mean literally I I need to break.
