The Bruins have completely fallen apart

Hate to say it was that virtual -- Clark wants. And I didn't we wanna say because I -- wait a minute -- raring and ready to go -- minute here I'll. The launch day if he picks his mouth is today they dominated the best team in hockey. The better team that night -- lost 41. They were the better team the Washington Capitals.

He's obviously talking about shots on goal and scoring chances but. You know. I don't remember it so that they were the better team the last couple nights and they have two losses well -- They unfortunately have a whole bunch of shots on goal and a whole bunch of scoring chances and three goals to show for -- or something and that's what the issue is here. They were the better team by far last night in my opinion but -- about the capitals. What do you expect him to say at this point not an --

Expect him to say that I don't expect him Q. You know lied and sent it there the better team does he really believed. The Bruins were the better team they played the capitals.

I can see where he'd say I and I. I can't -- rates. I you know when you've got a team that is -- fragile right now I guess he's at the point where he's trying to prop them up as much as he possibly can he -- suddenly we're bad team yeah well -- games in a row I know there yeah you're back to fragile is -- what I don't expect him on saint act. You yes all yes come -- I guess but get real hero out even though. We believe that why it already said no commitment to get something straight here Dale Arnold do you think it's -- real. Let's say about it I don't know what else not like I said that we're a better team but it's not real estate. Where that no I said that it it's so fragile he's trying to to prop them up. Why even if he believes in his heart of hearts that they're a bad team why would you say.

There's a way of saying it English language is very diversify you say it. Where a bad team right now we can get better I know these guys are better than what they've said that what they've showed the world what -- show of the of the city. But right now we're bad hockey team and we got to turn in Iraq.

Well I that's I I I think that his point about the last two games. I don't I don't believe that the goaltender stole the game last night but I do believe Jose Theodore help steal a game the other night they have played. Much much better the last two games and got nothing to show for it. And it's it's almost got near the point we were having this conversation earlier today we're almost feel sorry for the now. Like what the hell else can we deal. I mean I don't know how much more what more they can give than they gave last night they got up and there and I mean Donna and I don't count the point I mean I -- point -- they got enough.

They're they're simply not good enough and the problem. Is clear for everybody to see even folk like me who don't know what the hell they're talking about when it comes to hockey OK even folk like me can see. That they can't score dale all cannot all -- are it's awful and I mean it's mind boggling how how bad they are at that right now and who's underperforming schools as it was a sniper on the -- of matches before. -- the guy on the Bruins who you feel like should be 35. Or forty goal scorer who's not getting it done.

I don't think they have a 35 or forty Eagles score was -- sniper. I think that that what they counted on and they didn't work what they counted on was a balanced scoring attack. That would that would not have a 35 over forty goal scorer but would have a whole bunch of one eagle scores 78920 -- scores. And they got nothing I mean and in -- that's the problem they have. I mean Blake Wheeler leads your team in goals right now. Excuse me Marco Sturm says he's a sixteen but he got Blake Wheeler with thirteen Michael -- with twelve Patrice Bergeron with twelve. Mark Recchi with -- eleven crate she with ten you've got a whole bunch of guys who have performed. Not lol. Career years which they had last year well below average. And that's what's killing.

And and it's not even about the guy who was traded to Toronto because. You know if you're on the extreme if you're running on on either extreme you say. On one hand if that guy if he were here. They would be having these problems and on the other extreme you'd say it was a overrated anyway am glad they got rid of them got number one -- In the middle in the middle if you wanna get rid of a player like that. Get yourself a draft -- Do yourself a favor go find somebody. It was a specialist that scoring goals it's okay to have a specialist on the team everybody on the team. Does not have to be a complete hockey player to have somebody on there who's number one job whose only purpose really on the ice. -- score. They don't really they don't play as tough as you would like they don't get it to the quarters as much as you would like. But when the talk is on the stick it finds a way of of getting into the net you've got to give a guy like that. They didn't. Another surprise. Peter surely told us he was surprised. That they're even strength scoring has not been good.

I'm surprised too because it's not all about whether one guy can score thirty goals it's about whether. 8910 guys can score a normal monocle on -- and I don't believe that I don't believe that that that formula. Is successful and that is successful.

Then you've got another incredible aspect of your team where you can get away with that and the the the New Jersey doubles. Okay you've got a world clot in his prime you've got a world class goaltender. Can get it done so you don't necessarily need a guy scored 35 or forty goals because you know this guy's gonna shut it down and -- You most of the time to have low scoring games anyway the pro once didn't have that.

We actually did some research on this morning if you go back to the 199091. Season and we just picked up an arbitrary point. Went back to the 1991 season since that year there have been 6450. Goal seasons in the -- Some guys that more than one saying 64 times people of scored. Fifty or more goals in a season since 199091. All of those 6450. Goal seasons. Four have won Stanley Cup championship the year they won they scored fifth Google's. Four of 64. By disaster for the Eagles and I understand that what we property thanks for that I I and my point here is. You look at teens and and look at the last several years where you've had -- you'll be unbelievable old Atkins coming up back to back. 56 and sixty Bible seasons they can't get to the Eastern Conference finals with the best offensive player in hockey Bob best offensive player of areas. In. 52 for the Atlanta Thrashers in 070 wait what they do nothing. -- again up fifty goals for the up Calgary Flames 070 wait what they do.

Not playing. Your your premise is so flawed. You premise is -- fifty that's an extra we used an arbitrary -- but not great goal -- we're -- forty -- we found the same the same ratio. They don't have that this year and they're not have the opportunity to close -- hostile to see the difference sure they may not I don't. -- not right now it doesn't look good at all I mean it's you may have -- mine they're going to be in the Eastern College semi finals because. You know there are better than the Washington capital with a better name. With a better team last night. I can't get a -- lost nine games and road you're not very good. Period you don't have a with chewing gum and bailing wire and why would say don't go the other way and to fantasy land. In the wrong market for that people don't like gimmicks -- want to be lied to don't leave that. The people won't know he'd he'd.

Lie about how they played the last two games he didn't lie about that it doesn't matter how good they played. If at the end of the night it got nothing to show for it it doesn't matter. But he's not lying about how they play. He's lying about. -- the Boston Bruins being a better team they would get -- yet he didn't say they are veteran team we were the better team tonight. They wore the better team last night they work clearly the better team and still got nothing to show for -- Washington. They were the better take two of the three area -- allies and I don't know I'm not gonna -- where they were the better team for two out of the three period.

Big game James -- clinic -- I think our team is pretty good tonight and if you wanna call -- average when you dominate. The best team in the league which was Washington. And we were the better team that night.

Look I said it doesn't matter. -- they they outplayed Washington to what are the three periods and you know what the capitals are Saddam good all they needed was one period Beecher team that's the other way of looking at a I mean that's even more grim if you wanna look at it that way. But his description of how they played the last two games is not wrong. They worked so far the better team last night and got nothing to show. That's why I'm a point where I'm feel sorry for.

I don't feel sorry for the team. I guess I feel sorry for. I bet -- sorry for the people who follow the team. So so there's there's so passionate about the Bruins so passionate about hockey. They wanna win desperately. And they just keep it the same thing. Year after year after year the same old thing what is gonna turn around. What is gonna what are -- gonna get an administration that just figures it out they know how to get it done. It does what -- at -- you -- what -- what happened. You know what happened with with Peter surely and you make this point yesterday and I agree with you said. He he went away from Bruins form he went out. He signed guys to long term conquer our long term contracts. The problem is. Maybe he would sign the bright guys to long term contract it's always something. With the Boston Bruins it is very. It could be it's depressing.

There's no other way to put it it's exactly what it is it is completely depressing if you're brew wingspan. Double talk to Mike Milbury later on he'll join us 102 today. Ilya -- to deal came down last night it shocked most people in the NHL but it was Lou Amarillo in the New Jersey doubles who acquired him. He gave but he gave up a lot but not. Selling the house for the sake of renting -- to and I think there is zero chance loose -- this guy long term I I think there's zero chance. The only way -- is playing for the doubles again next year. Is it -- a -- and hosts and signs a one year contract like cosa did with the Detroit Red Wings couple years ago. And -- if if Kovalchuk sun yup they win the cup he signs a one year deal to play one more year in New Jersey and then looks to make the big score after that. He gave up. Paramount. But he didn't sell the farm for the sake of acquiring new vehicle to. Why do you think you did it because he looks at an Eastern Conference that in his opinion is pretty open. I mean Washington's great Ovechkin you know is terrific Crosby and in Pittsburgh is great. But he saying. And what. I think we can beat these guys we got the best goaltender whoever lived we got a good system here if we can if we can score more goals. That's his phrase I mean to his way of looking at if we score few more goals we -- I.

I'd hate like -- to work to work form. What do work format the coach all -- very informative if your work of forming a front office he's the kind of guy I would think. Who's gonna make you be better at whatever you no doubt about so but I hate to be a coach firfer Lou. But I respect the way does business he's always trying to he's our Lois he don't we're not just somebody makes. He's boldly makes -- bold trades. He makes bold coaching moves. At at controversial timed right before the playoffs he's done that before. This is what you need you need. A bold vision. For for building a hockey team and winning a championship whereas the urgency whereas the flame in this franchise who got a who's got a burning desire to win a title. Yeah Boston Bruins organization -- that the reason why if I wish a rally I would not have done what looted yesterday.

The devils may be that player away from winning a cup the Bruins art. Ilya Kovalchuk would would make them better they'd score more goals they might make the playoffs I still don't think they'd have a chance -- At winning a Stanley Cup even with the Ilya Kovalchuk Eastern Conference is open yeah but it's open for you know 234 teams. I don't think the Bruins were closer. This is the single player who could push the doubles over the top I don't think there is a single player who could push the Bruins over the top. I just don't think there is that.

Think that the Bruins -- part they make the playoffs. Washington's a -- seeded Bruins are they -- the Bruins have no chance of beating the capitals.

Com -- little chance I mean there is no such thing is no chance but they have little chance. -- you see even with culture I think they have little he's got a a five game series yet maybe it's 56 ways now I wouldn't say. -- game at home you know here. But I I I think that the devils. Could look at their team and say without one dynamic goal scorer away from B and as good as there is in the in the east. I don't think the Bruins are one dynamic goal scorer away from being as good as there is in the east. Can't score though no doubt no doubt about that I'm I'm not not arguably the about to happen do you think he would have. It if they had given up and just. It's hard to come up with comparable it's Stephen Harris tried to come up with a comparable deal -- said you're given up like Blake Wheeler. I forget who the other player was forget about the prospect in the draft pick off the roster. And you're being given a couple of those guys -- add -- to Q and are they then one of the teams to beat the east because I don't think -- Blake Wheeler. Get medical troop. Do you think that that did this team -- those kinds of moves hit his theory was if you tried to if you tried to make it comparable. It would be Wheeler marks do work. Up prospect to again you don't care about Jordan Tehran and local or some like gotten and it and a draft. T get up Stewart and Wheeler is comparable or better yes I didn't say that does that make you one of the teams to beat. I don't think it done.

It gets you into the playoffs and at what I mean maybe. Maybe they wanted to last night's game. Two points out I know. African Tampa Bay Lightning. So yeah -- All -- as an opportunity to compete for championship game and give it to the post season. And then maybe something clicks and Tim Thomas that this still there he hasn't lost in May be something clicks they get fed does provide better. Maybe something clicks Zdeno Chara. And he said I don't care to -- I can get through it. Maybe these guys get new life with the post season and they gonna run which can happen many times in hockey teams that mark. We're supposed to go on runs --

Well -- I mean I I look at what you're saying earlier about you know how good a team this is and and you know called being a little disingenuous with how well they played on nine game losing streak right. This a team with a nine game losing streak is you vehicle and an African with the number is at home. Is DeLia -- to change that all around for.

All around no Natalie knows them better yet Nestle the only guy on the Hollywood player. Who become man and completely turn around the Boston drones the only two players like that are of -- and Crosby -- shoots pretty close to over etched in in terms of goal scoring. -- ordering a all right all right right in doubt your franchise and what that one guy can turn around completely -- practical joke yeah you get better.

Yes you get better a lot better I think what he does is he turns the doubles into a Stanley Cup contender.
