Espionage joins us live with a full line right now -- that -- that we're talking about Rasheed here gamble we're talking about Rasheed here again. 35 it's like whenever want to talk about now I don't have -- helps us. I don't minus 35 geez you guys probably don't mind the 35 -- 'cause it's out of his pocket would you -- -- out of your -- But. Again -- that pay the money. I think the -- been criticized in the game is over as opposed to getting to ease the -- the game that actually might cost you down -- road somewhere. Right you know -- -- better. I think that there's there's there's bigger issues I think it. You know what behavior that's best for the team and not having people turn against you during the course of the season in getting back all because someone doesn't like Q and that's not that anybody. I've seen this team go in to. This season go into similar situation to what we saw in Monday night's game -- played pretty good game of the first half. Have a sizable lead us again with a was niners need or something like that at halftime. And then in the second half. Defense suddenly goes. Awry and it goes for a quarter in the southern tip in while they do -- things right is that just the result of Kevin Garnett. Not being out there other guys like Paul -- when he was out or is it. There's of the deeper problem out there that suddenly a very good basketball team that's got some depth here. Suddenly shuts the switch off for awhile defensively. He had no I think it bigger than to have kept certainly helped that because she ever really been out. A lot of players. Try to coast in that spot -- -- In I think we just sit at guys. And and there are they think they can turn it on in because we've won a lot of games that way the last few years in this you won games that. Let the gas pedal and it has turned on -- and come away -- -- -- Opulent palaces. -- Atlantis to hear those those are good teams we need to let them like playing Cleveland and LA in Orlando and those eighteen that you brought their play you play that you might not that. Played extremely well so. You know those frustrating losses for the team the players everybody. And that you're right we. We took the -- up -- I think it's just in the players it's certainly not the coaches stop strategy it's not that the game plan changes -- It's just. That's been played 8%. Just -- good. At it and without -- -- we're not gonna play 80% and sometimes with our -- roster maybe we are on some -- Erica. That's that a little bit of a pattern. To bring her back a machine because certainly. Situations like that and not sheets fall but is it is that unfair. To expect him to do it because you're asking now guy that probably was expecting -- Donny Marshall said after the game and makes sense. I don't think Rasheed was expecting to play this many minutes. Come into the stable because of the injury situation this year he's been forced to be up there are a lot longer there are times out here. Where I think he's really playing well and really contributed in other times were I get the feeling you know if you were mentioning it when you said that. Where does dress somewhat and I wondered if that's not a matter of you know there's a lot of medics for him to absorb out there. Adult topic that she's got some of the better games. Since cage injury has been -- batter actually more minutes I I think that she was the only problem we had the other night was that -- got foul trouble. And what we need to go to our pensions and our bench did a terrible job in the dark and -- -- great job and has been so. She was our best defender the other night. And so he was he he might have been the only guy out in order problem. -- to follow up questions or -- the first on Rasheed who seems to. Suggests that. He is somehow the victim here that because of his reputation that the officials -- route to get him. Is that paranoia or is there are some justification and that stance. Yeah I didn't care I don't wanna go there are -- -- -- -- questioned. In any way. Solid. Deliberately yeah. You know it's you'd edit the smart audience at a at a about it I think there. The bottom line is we need to get all the players. To play about concentrate on what they're in this stay out of the talks. About official you know we need to control our own destiny Ian and control our own -- And are you gonna get bad calls whether they like -- is going to be -- call everybody goes through and so you gotta be a brick through that but that's. In -- -- -- -- Not just she gets every we gotta do a better job. That's something that we will be addressing as we get -- for the playoffs starting now. It in news you talked about playing through it obviously the injuries. The last couple weeks have taken their toll and and our cost few minutes of some of your better players. Can anything good come of that in that you'd get to look at some of the year you guys off the bench. With the additional responsibilities. During the regular season and and evaluate them and see how much improvement you're getting there. Think that the opinion is that it is a better player going to play out -- -- be able to have competent and everybody is never know what might happen. I -- I think two guys have benefited a great deal. So are from. The opportunity and more -- -- and scallop boat as a played very sensibly. They're they're they put. Commitment. Given us some good energy and spark. -- -- Because -- it's benefited the -- at a -- opportunity. And a group that there'd -- -- player so win but at the same time. Everybody back help. On this opportunities those as the play by. Having played during the regular season play well when games that's that's going to be a benefit force. We heard from docked yesterday talking about KG and his his work out day and I'm just wondering how -- you know a day later you know how he felt I know he won't be playing. Against Detroit obviously but how he felt coming off that work out and if you know all signs still a positive for the future here for Friday may be. Yeah so you know Friday is still. We're expecting him to come back. Right now but again things could change after practice tomorrow. And so worked yeah -- expecting I mean this is this is not any sting were trying to hide conspiracy. About the -- in the but it's not that we Munich and shut it out for two weeks and and bringing can. Been about that repeat it and they gain. But I think KG is a really -- yesterday that better than he did. In training camp better than it. When he was when he went on eleven game winning streak since -- them like -- the ball he. Move better yesterday and that he didn't yet here so that's encouraging. Is it difficult for you to get a good gauge. On your team right now in that you've had different guys injured there there have been different. The situations out there we haven't had a full contingent of players. I don't think so I I I think we that we know we are I think that everyone has regular competence and police in this team. When we get all parts the ones here at the year it was. A little bit like the waiting for the regular season -- get through the regular season. -- for the playoffs. And that's in the case that's exactly how we are about so -- so. You know what some point. We gotta get it playing hard for 48 minutes in and get it back at -- which -- well. Nobody's nobody's run away with it here where you're looking at you're you're gonna lose out on home court advantage and even the lakers -- -- nine -- I think they have -- make happily. Well over fifteen road games at auto road games they have to go out there apply which you expect you're gonna lose a lot more off the road though you'd least. -- from pretty good on the road you're gonna lose more roads and nobody really run away that we have to worry about that home and home court advantage. Well you know the home court advantage is our number one objective if it happens it happens that our objective -- You're playing better -- all chemistry and a key scratched -- got to play certain games. You got a picture shot. In a tiny group -- excuse and you gotta develop some competent together at. So I think that it is important thing is is that we are. Got some momentum. And healthy. Ego went well at the number one objective. I did they were talking and actually thanks -- I don't want that you banning any age right here on the ET the on line.

NESN's Barry Pederson on the Bruins dominance

Cleveland Indians hottest team in baseball, yet remain last in attendance May 19, 2013 By AJ Kaufman 6 Comments There’s a scene in Major League where Bob Uecker, portraying the radio voice of the Indians, bemoans, “In case you haven’t noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven’t, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.” Well, that was nearly 25 years ago and fictional, but today’s reality is that Cleveland has won 17 of its last 21, and currently tops the AL Central with a mark of 25-17. No one in the majors is better than the Indians in the past month (20-7). That’s great news. The bad news, however, is the Tribe somehow remain in the MLB cellar when it comes to attendance. How can this be? The fact that I wrote on this same topic almost to the day last year – when only Tampa Bay drew fewer fans than Cleveland - may be even more troubling. Though roughly 34,000 watched a walk-off win Friday night against Seattle, perfect weather and free caps weren’t enough to draw more than 36,000 Saturday and Sunday combined. What did the Indians do in those tilts? They nabbed another walk-off win on Saturday, then the Indians crushed the great Felix Hernandez Sunday behind Justin Masterson, arguably the AL’s best pitcher right now. Fun fact: The Indians have already faced eight Cy Young Award winners in 2013: Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Jake Peavy, David Price, Justin Verlander and Hernandez. They have won seven out those eight matchups. Simply astounding. This offseason, the much-maligned Indians front office finally made a legitimate attempt to improve the team through free agency. I’m not talking an Ubaldo Jimenez-like trade, but rather smart acquisitions that brought veterans Mike Aviles, Michael Bourn, Jason Giambi, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs and Nick Swisher to Cleveland. In addition to being a fantastic place to watch a game due to great egress and ingress, with extremely affordable tickets, the best promo lineup anywhere, Jacobs Field boasts overall, cooler, less muggy summer weather than most Midwestern locales. The team also lowered beer and hot dog prices to $4 and $3 respectively. What other professional stadium in any sport offers that? I have visited 28 of the 30 current Major League Baseball stadia, and few top The Jake when all angles are considered. I say that as a baseball fan, not an Indians fan. As for the putative “economic” angle, these are the same people who spend insane amounts of money to watch terrible football every fall and show up in decent numbers for putrid basketball in the winter. Irrespective of season length, those sports charge up to 10 times the price for a ticket, and the atmosphere isn’t half as fan-friendly as baseball. I understand fans’ lack of willingness to get on board to some degree. A decent recap of Cleveland’s decade of “rebuilding” can be read here and the team suffered a horrific collapse last August. However, in addition to all the benefits of attending games at Jacobs (now Progressive) Field, fans should also realize the team has potential and often exceeds preseason aspirations at any point without warning. Cleveland hosts the rival Detroit Tigers — heavy favorites to repeat as AL Central champs — Tuesday and Wednesday nights before hitting the road. The temperature should be pleasant at first pitch each evening so you’d expect The Jake to be full to watch the best hitter on the planet right now — but don’t count on it.

Minor Details Ep. 49: Managerial development with Torey Lovullo and Arnie Beyeler

By and large, the focus of development in the minor leagues is on players. Still, there is a developmental path for coaches and managers in the farm system, as is evident from the fact that the previous two managers of the Red Sox' Triple-A affiliate in Pawtucket -- Torey Lovullo (2010) and Arnie Beyeler (2011-12) are now both on the Red Sox' big league coaching staff. They share their insights about the differences between player and coaching expectations in Triple-A vs. the majors, while discussing professional development from the perspective of former minor league managers who aspire to similar positions in the big leagues.
