Yeah you know there -- bad days and then there are really bad days like I used to joke that. If you read your name in the inside track. There was a real good chance that wasn't in a way that was gonna make you feel good about yourself. And if you somehow decided you were one of the tales from the naked city. And it was a really bad day -- and I really and you hope that nobody else could figure out.
Have you been one of the sales of assets adamantly and gotten there have you have you been one of those some offshore. And anti bailout should have definitely. Definitely definitely. And it -- from the nick it's -- two and a well liked it pretty well it's -- I got them and -- up. I was like yet. They got it all Mary thank god use my name and Alan and that I've -- well.
They did you lose your name in detail from the naked city you would not have had as data a couple of days this. One -- brick Tiger Woods is had I we were talking about this early this morning I can't remember an athlete. Short of OJ Simpson. Taking a blow torch to his name and reputation more completely than Tiger Woods has in the last. Or five days. And OJ Simpson obviously was a different scenario criminal. You know. As bad as it gets -- stuff I can't think of anybody else that you used OJ. I'm gonna ask you what though what the standards are that your career have to be active -- to be retired is OJ was well not -- that's that's very good point. He had played football on a very very very long time. At that point he was probably more famous in America there are for vaulting luggage racks in airports for her. Or your righty he was not even close to being in an active -- or appearing with that Leslie Nielsen yeah. All the make ago movie or appearing on you know NBC's telecast and Wilma going to be on there with -- and it is the football insider right. So like -- your right it's probably different.
Okay so if if you're talking about our athletes who are well known whether there. Are current or not and and in terms of their sport. I guess. What -- Jordan -- Jordan survived a lot Jordan has. It's been. Accused of gambling is a known gambler is almost like a proud gambler.
Jordan. Has Hadley. A huge. I'm -- very public of divorce huge weight loss of dollars details -- lost tons of money. Yet it continues to. That depict an iconic figures now. You know it's funny that -- McMullen is gonna maker debut with us today and and we're thrilled that she's going to be with us on a weekly basis. I was thinking back to her block and I know it's hard now. Would -- with a perfect 20/20 vision of hindsight to remember but back then when Magic Johnson announced that he was retiring and he was HIV positive. I can tell you right now that the story all around the country is magic -- Magic scan codes and and I hale listen along and the uneducated we were totally uneducated and saying now it's hard to imagine it. But thinking back to what are we didn't know back then. I mean everybody at at least around and and I was even to talk shows back then and and it was that it was the win spurred on you know on reported thing you know --
The more I think about this thing with with Tiger Woods and if you haven't heard the Tiger Woods newsman there's plenty of news to tell. You already know about the story that sounded very very very hard to believe. What was put out there that that tiger. Ran into a fire hydrant outside his house and that that there was a golf club taken to the window of an escalade. And he was dragged out to safety over the seat and his black window we were so those are mainly even if she let's say she works out you know. Two -- three times -- day. And she is today nutrition free skin and she is very strong first signs. A drag -- our annual -- call out the back of an escalating and if she does that he'd be he'd be hurt worse you know what right now -- right couldn't. You're right couldn't couldn't drag him over deceit and out the window we couldn't -- And we smashed an emasculated. You take on the -- three iron I have taken a lot of I've made a lot of sacrifices here. Village automotive.
My Cadillac -- a pathetic and it. Cadillac I was admit it I don't want to come on the -- I'll just come back with -- can be upset but don't hold us back patch it up. As -- did you know you can take off my clothes match from NASA all right well maybe not the wrapped up but not that you can patent. Matt's right that don't -- that story without there but it.
Graduated. Halt all the story has graduated. It it is. -- beyond grad school in Weirton some where in residency now your post doc so yeah absolutely. And now the the women are popping up all over all of the Tiger Woods women -- their stories to tell on the voicemails to share and they got text messages to show -- to share as well. So -- yet Tiger Woods has two. He's gonna have to say it's of the but I don't think about the deal. I don't get it can now. If you but if you're an advertiser.
And I and and I guess it would depend and and all these this case who depend on the level. Of legality I mean you know if you if it if you get caught driving drunk. You can you got a legal issue their but I'm guessing they -- instead you know 12 straightening his self out if you're driving drunk and you don't kill somebody right. Right and in fact we've even had athletes were driving drunk and did kill some but not pitchman who had no they're not pitchman but they've come back in continue to work in there. In their respective fields but pitchman Nazi. And and I think I know the answer anyway but it's it's always the obvious question for me. Have you ever more could you ever imagine yourself buying a product based on the endorsement of a celebrity death. I mean I says. You know hey you gotta try this Gillette fusion.
got it it doesn't. Like an anti spyware Tiger Woods he's I'm sure those checks are bouncing. -- commercials. But I think it's a waste of its a waste of money.
I agree with I agree completely is absolutely. There's no way. This is what I do you know anybody who goes out and buy something -- it has some athletes says to.
I'm not I'm not paying serious guy in the world so I you know like -- I don't have to shape every day. But there are times that -- shape and -- some ground and another city I'll go into you know Walgreens CVS whatever. And I'll find something that's not too cheap. That a cut your may -- just replied I'm gratified and I'm not looking for particular brand just give me and get something to be some shaving cream. I get the samples guys it will get the job that I never. Ever go out thinking well you don't Michael Jordan endorses -- armor wear Hanes Hanes underwear hey -- And Michael Jordan couldn't say great things about the cotton and he can have. -- Cuba Gooding junior come up to a monogamous -- soft Charlie Sheen OK that's great I don't care. I admit I have never doubted the only thing is maybe shoes when I was the kid. Everybody wanted Jordan's I want to Jordan to. -- underwear. T shirts hot dogs.
Razors. What I thought that they got it and and hard I I agree with -- and I agree to tell what you don't buy that Buick because Tiger Woods back in the day was endorsing a Buick a guy. What he's endorsing a Gartner and I agree -- you completely there's no doubt in my mind which is saying is true the other thing that I find amazing and amusing about this whole story. Is the media partner. I mean John Jerry we're talking about this this morning. Tiger Woods apparently agreed to do a cover shoot for Men's Fitness Magazine. So that they wouldn't tell some of the -- that that they had heard whispered out there. I mean I got it's I I am I I am flabbergasted. But not surprised. When I go to ESPN. Espn.com. And the headline at the bottom of the page is tiger's case close.
Why I love that that that's according to the cops I don't know I I know what they're going for and and I know what they want Manny -- They are trying to tech coach this so carefully. Because if your ESPN and Tiger Woods ever says you know what. I'm never talk -- You don't exist. Don't send anybody don't set a microphone. Don't send a camera you'll art dead Timmy if that ever happened ESPN would have deep trouble. I'm sorry I don't believe them the way they're reporting the story well. If he does that what's the unity -- alternative. Go through his website. Bulldogs say he could he get off Karbala and while he can't do every media outlet. But you you know ESPN the worldwide leader what the Golf Channel. Are we are going to the Golf Channel for a Tiger Woods information remember when bill bell attack cut off the NFL network. Now I did last but he did any cut off ESPN to remember the man. And -- I thought I thought he would because of the Tom -- up and talk.
But Berman -- boy and he in no other people from ESPN or not Chris Berman at that time who were not Chris Berman. Forget about it they hate or whether -- whether your -- jacks -- pallor anybody else I think I still probably -- used for sop now. -- East -- confident our network and.
the NFL network okay now that it in the last and I have them but but you know now the NFL owns the NFL network. And at that point the most famous coach in the league is saying don't come I'm not talking. We they had issues there that they had to soothe over.
Lesson at the here's about a month okay this is eight. And we were getting off track a little bit with. You know if Tiger Woods tells ESPN that he won't talks on. Is Tiger Woods got to be hurt by this long term now. You won't I think he has RR RUN. Is coming out dummy and it tangible way I do.
I just heard Brad Faxon make an interesting comment few minutes ago -- and John and Jerry EE and I think he made a great point. He said eighteen majors just a little further away than it was few days ago no way I think if I had. -- I think he is the most remarkably focused laser like intensity athlete. Maybe I've ever seen I made right up there with Jordan and bird and and you know the greats. I think it's tough I think it's tough to go I'm telling Stevie Williams is gonna kill somebody. I'm Stevie Williams is a nut job to begin.
At things -- hear -- few things to point. Number one. We agree on this. What Tiger Woods did was America excuse me what Kobe Bryant it was worse. Yes. Even though it was settled out of court I mean I would -- I don't know I don't know what a -- yeah I mean he claims it was consensual. If it wasn't consensual it's a hundred times worse. It was consensual but there were there were court proceedings that I don't allow -- it was settled I would like my only hesitation wise if it it was not consensual. It was right so something happened there right so what happened their would opt for awhile. He was going to court between -- member of private plane back and forth but I point that out. For this -- Look at the results. When he was doing that's helped point it's a great point it was incredible it was almost like the -- with his his sanctuary and say it came out 35.
When this is going on and everybody's house of pop was gonna take away from its game in a strange way it may.
More dangerous on the court I'm talking about dangerous on on nine okay.
These athletes guys like Kobe Bryant guys like tiger guys like Michael Jordan of these. Just these intense personalities and when it comes to when it comes to winning time. You know watch out they're gonna do something special and they very rarely. Shy away from the bright -- they very rarely cower under the pressure. You have guys like that and something is happening in their personal lives. I think they become more dangerous in the professional.
You might be right you might you might be exactly right out. And I know that the the image of the golf courses the decorum and the and the you know the polite people a -- people -- I mean people say stop now and Stevie Williams is is practically having to get a restraining order. Somebody is gonna say something to Tiger Woods walking up a fairway somewhere it might not be Augusta. It might lead Phoenix or might be Norton not hear a pin in that that the TPC somebody's gonna say something -- Steve Williams gonna wrap to -- around somebody. You know -- silly me here -- like in the Tiger Woods is in this hotel room rating yardage books. Yeah I don't think that was what he was doing 6177790850. Toll free 888. 5250850.
