Well that was fun. And and you know it ironically. We set very specific. Parameters Michael came up with the perfect definition. Last week when I utilizing it from the state forward and back -- it copied by other people. On other places. Unity I like the fact -- been -- elect the exact definition of what a blowout is. Disqualified as a blow up seventeen points that's Michael's definition. Very simply three possessions. Makes all the sense in the world. This felt like a blow out all game -- anyway it meant.
Yeah except you know it got interesting got interesting there for awhile. -- in the second quarter or the third order third quarter up. It's a 24 to fourteen game and you had to worry a little bit but. You know it's a blowout win at the end of the game you -- like there's no chance at the other team could win and that's really what a blow -- it blow lives they have no chance of winning this game and I really didn't feel like they had a chance when you want it was when -- reports unit in believing that there it and believing the jets that to say because the quarterback.
I agree with yet and and it's funny because I after the game I heard Rex -- say. There's no thought about changing the quarterback you know he's the quarterback well courtly but I understand and then in Monday Morning Quarterback this morning. Peter King is basically imploring Rex Ryan. To change the quarterback for for fear right think of psychological damage.
No I think that's you know I love -- and we you and I we -- up Peter but that's ridiculous. Their fourth sixth and aren't going anywhere they've lost in the divisional games they're gonna run right now. And in and they wind up -- six tennis six is gonna most likely for the dolphins. Aren't executed for the jets mean a wild card. Because how many I think they've lost four divisional games at this point. -- lost the patriots today only now. Divisional game they want and I think it over the patriots patriots game and a loss to Miami twice. They lost the patriots lost the bill -- the bills. So I don't think they have have what it takes an article about my point is they're not going anywhere at 46 you're not going anywhere fast. Let Mark Sanchez develop -- and turn over to Kellen Clemens with the kind of weary.
Well and and again say you go back to the idea I'd do you -- stifle the development of Sanchez. By putting him in in a position. I don't people say that he was so bad yesterday. I mean honestly and and I guess at some point at Ellis Thomas was joking in the locker room with. With Leigh Bodden and said he had three fair catches. I mean that if I practically was.
Right which you know in back to the psychologically damaged quarterback argument. When people say that you know take him out of there or you gonna hurt his development and as scar him than you don't have the right on the first place yeah.
If your quarterback kept up with any adversity. And you need everything to go. Perfectly for you to develop then you're not the right guy. So I I think this is great experience for him just as it was great experience for Aikman great experience from Manning. And to a degree Bledsoe. Not that the bullets holes in their category. Go out there. In and play and learn. And there'll probably be a lot lot more downs than ups to figure it out. We think was wrong with Rex Ryan at the end I know what all am I saying I not love sexy Rex. I love -- and a lot like a night like I know. This is what you -- you'd get used direct. You can't talk during the week. You can't talk all the umpire Roxio all summer his first press conference with entertaining now. All of those quotes -- entertaining all the things yet to say calling the season ticket holders are not -- in the -- On and on and the players and we know we're tired of getting you know getting beaten by the patriots in return items you can't talk that much and then get mad. When somebody comes back. And does she actually really into the cheap flights that you play they threw deep. The game has already decided already have -- blow up blow up parameters established. It's third and seventh Saturday whatever it is Brady was trying to get Randy Moss deep ball. And and now -- is on the sidelines and bleep them late -- you know tallest players you know. You parties to it if you if you like to talk that much and I like. That he likes to talk that much talk that much don't be surprised and don't we disappointment when somebody comes back. And takes offense and -- and in tries to one up.
Here's the other part and I know you've disagreed with me on this I thought that the whole crying in the locker room. On Monday last Monday it was was over the top. And I especially thought it was over the top that somebody leaked that he was trying in the locker but -- another discussion because now what happens. He's crying in the locker -- their better than the -- you know -- better than they think Q all right no you -- and -- hats handed to. Well now. And -- what's the next step for Rex started by you know. Small animal sacrifice have it what's next an animal on a mobile hot felt tired Brady Ackerman go to this morning and Welker is well Welker said he couldn't that the pictures in GQ is after the -- that you just couldn't get over that. What what.
What's your next step -- list of -- keeps than. He keeps and it like it was a motivational tactic that's exactly what I tell -- it's exactly what -- you know they'll let let me ask you this. What group of what group of men. Of competitive. Testosterone. Filled men. Are motivated. By their leader crying who we're we're still too sexist words still too tough for that. It meant that there are there's not a man out there who's gonna say you know what I'm gonna -- 53 guys. And the coaching staff and I'm gonna cry to get these guys on my side so we didn't do it on purpose.
See I don't I don't believe. I don't believe anything that he says or does the spontaneous and that's probably my biggest problem of them I think he's a phony II you know I think it's it's all it's all. Generated. In in his own mind at that get attention. In this -- Paula back to the offseason and I'm not here to kiss the rings and and all I think it's it's take. Jets are here in Iowa.
I want you to remind our mind you but his last name I know and I don't without -- Brian I don't anybody ever cried in front of a team but. There's nothing phony about these buddies he would throw went through same thing would rob the guys are not.
They're nuts. They haven't and a and a -- mall. Let me get out at -- man.
You know punch and out on off at the coordinator -- and -- doctor moderates and got different eclectic in. Graves -- at all of them.
IP got a point they are all little low nuts what did -- out now we have we have very definitely brought. John -- over toward dark side. You know I mean he I'm getting text that during these early games. He is so hooked on red zone channel. I mean I never watch a non patriots game. When the reds on channel as an alternative -- you watch Sunday night -- at all by itself you want to -- icons at all by itself broad answer that got sources. -- So like everybody else apps or watch and and might have been. For an idea that it's over the top rate for football fans anyway. Might have been the best day in the history of the red zone -- may have some great games -- yesterday -- all -- all including believe it or not. The lie if there are. At it hurts me in the TV like all -- yes. What is Malcolm -- tailpipe of the car I'd say it I don't I hate -- at eight jewels kind of thing greatly. -- Hank -- it -- the he's. The quarterback with the pocket. -- apple. Calvin Johnson in the end though.
Yeah I mean there's contact when the quarterback when the court records out of the pocket you know there's contact downfield but it is solved -- you know which again. Nine he used it back at tackle so that they put zeros on the clock and cannot with -- 12 -- they do they'll they'll look who's. Well there's. All sort.
If I'm Jim Schwartz you know -- I swear to god if if the medical report comes back today. That Matthew Stafford is done for the year. And it could by the way I mean it that that's what could be an X ray saying nothing's broken but you know shoulder was popped out. I think -- I'll walk out the field is out it's our right I mean I give him all the credit the world for courage. Jim Schwartz is a dumb ass for let -- throw that pass. I mean you know -- it and and staff and Schwartz is kind of joking about it well the best movie made was eluding the -- medical people. I mean the commissioners gonna look a little bit askance at -- Monday morning they say. Yes efforts done for the year he's having shoulder surgery tomorrow Andy's out throwing the last back pass. And get credit for courage.
Yeah -- it's happened before in the national football only we know it happened right here how about how about Bill Parcells letting Drew Bledsoe played with a separated shoulder. In 1995. And and and his response was. I remembered vividly can be going back and forth this is back in the days back that they would at Harding was the to a sports out that far yet it was a -- so -- Harding. Is saying. You know let's so he was absolutely right. -- Parcells was annoyed because Harding was right right kitty -- yet he said you know that Bledsoe was wincing in pain and that you know definitely. He's got some injury in the east continue to play so course Parcells -- press conferences. And other dumb ass who's writing. I bet Bledsoe was wincing -- ice -- somebody say that -- said that. In Harding pregnant yes it may going -- and oppressed now parting was right. He'll let Drew Bledsoe play with a separated shoulder and his response was players play on Sunday that was always his stock response so. Guys with with with broken legs and broken arms. And unfortunately some some guys work and cost we're getting better and -- concussions but. There -- some political mild concussions.
It Big Ben Roethlisberger is gonna play in Chile and that people still blocked it with that I don't think he's gonna play next and and he's at and if you win it. Excellent credit but to your point it was a great day. Rumbling of the red zone generally got the awful Kansas that he keeps beating the Steelers. Got the awful Oakland Raiders being in the bank rules. A game called by -- show after on DNC on Friday yet got all that too awful teams playing great game the lions in the bears. So and you know and Greg and giants beating Al Gannett wrote me great and it's by the colts and ravens do you had -- stuff going on all over the lot that was just unbelievable. I I honestly truly thought that that the colts were gonna -- I've really thought that the ravens were gonna pull off. And and you had that idiotic passed by -- Joe Flacco it's like what.
You'd think all of the media is great of the great scheme though does you know Tony Tony Dungy broke down yesterday and he basically said. Then he could see what would Flacco was would -- was thinking he read. He Redman. All the way and think the linebackers would be there. And the linebackers. -- like they were split they were blitzing than dropping in the coverage but they kind of hung around and around a little bit underneath.
Well important to me you're -- it was the exact same defensive call. That the patriots game and on now on Sunday. That that the play on -- story on the play on the called. Yeah you know that play. That the defense support and James was that made -- And that's according Gary Brackett the defensive call on that play with identical to the defensive call. Where Flacco threw the interception that ended the.
Ask your question here posting about this yesterday now of the the colts are undefeated in the saints are undefeated now. If there are a couple -- question. One. Or are you protective. I know it didn't end well but are you protective and the patriots and he protective of the sixth you know regular season. You feel like do you feel it's funny because we all kind of crap on the patriots for that banner. Will hate that banner. It's a reminder yeah integrated it's a great -- receives an accomplishment and incredible. Regular season accomplishments are you protective of its so much so I don't want I don't I don't want either the -- leaning against the absolute saints angering a chemical.
In the colts case. There's more self preservation of all year. In a year chase and -- in the playoffs you're gonna have to play them. Do you want them to lose as much as they can lose in the saints' case you know you're gonna see the Monday night of course and you could -- it yourself if you do that if you do the job. -- I don't want I don't wanna team go undefeated and I I don't think either of them will -- well you don't want it if they Dougal undefeated. And both of them could and a regular season and a plate and then. Thanks so evidently they make a both go undefeated in the regular season. Then it's not written you know what will we got acknowledges. It's not a specialist we thought. If somebody else -- and utility if you if and especially to do the same season and I don't think either one well. It is really -- to see where colts mojo -- come from where of those losses coming from. I've and stand but doesn't it always seemed like. They Tennessee. It is Jacksonville seems like they always have one via out of the blue. How we got to take a break and away I'd James's flashing red -- and I know portly. We'll get right to the calls ninety seconds from now would you guys 6177790850. Toll free 888. 5250850. If you've got a Verizon cellphone you hit pound WEEI its recall for all of you guys. Would get right into which you will talk about the game yesterday we'll talk about hype has already become begun go to espn.com. The opening flipper on espn.com. Is the promotion for next Monday night's game they got a game tight battle right. But they're already looking at saint patriots next Monday night. Exactly because at the big Monday night match up.
