I -- I I heard John Jerry talking about this earlier and you know it comes to mind when you know that you're gonna talk with rush she later on in the program. What is ranges. I wonder what is what is the distance at which he says now too far.
Well it is probably the same thing one. As people who you ask how much money he had. And they sit back and count it and have -- I don't know mine so. If if he can tell you -- that maybe doesn't have the range that that. That the real snipers that I just go to turn one down you don't write it -- okay. I just don't know what it is is it's a feel thing. For -- To me now must -- that -- too many I. I -- gonna pull out now like that but I'd live like they don't -- that -- While he doesn't apply enough detail that you know. If either you've taken that threes. That you're taking or the team in you have one weakness on the Celtics that you could point out. It is rebounding. Often the rebound that they do get killed. On the offensive boards so. Maybe he can take you were threes and contribute more on the rebounding and last anyone board. -- into them.
I read the comments of Jerry Sloan in today's paper talking about what Rashid Wallace brings to the table for the Celtics. And he said you know if if he wants to go down in the paint if he wants to post up. He's good as anybody at in the in the game pastor if if he wants to -- yeah now I can also step outside that line and ingrained that thing but if he wants to play down low he can do that very well.
And I wouldn't say stayed out lol all the time because -- that makes it easy for the defense you don't have to -- you don't have to make some tough decisions you don't have to say. Our got to pick my poison somewhere going to go out there. And hang with a Rasheed Wallace and and leave the in the lane open. Four for anybody from. Perkins -- Paul Pierce. Or. Do I want them deny KG and pierce and perk the lane. --
I was actually thinking about Sloan last night they and they showed him on a number of occasions -- In coming Hall of Fame class this past year and and 22 years which is mind boggling in in in any sport to coach a team for for 22 years. And I was thinking about the dilemma he must have is he's getting ready to coach against the Celtics. I mean that the dilemma you having to think about you know in in any sport it's always coach -- OK what do I do to negate what they do best how to like take this away at. What you take away from from -- and it's it's it's why the Celtics are so good. Can't figure out -- take away from what do you do. I don't I I want I wanna push KG outside. Okay you can do that. The parks gonna probably be okay underneath appears to or pierce is gonna go to the whole animal honey what -- you start out if you're playing the Celtics tonight. What's your first order of business.
You know what you're saying if you're if you're really good team. So we're gonna open -- play great team defense. And it is not about you know doubling the guy if you if you've got a good team you feel like. Your man should be able to stop. Their guy. The way it's as simple as that we have good help defense you have -- years you're disciplined on defense here. You're well schooled well coached on defense and you go from -- suspending the Celtics do when they play the lakers or when they play the cavaliers.
And if you're and the magic and if your market teams in the NBA. -- you know. You hope that your starters can line. Because you're not gonna be able to go as deep as the Celtics go. You're not going to be able to get the same bench played that they get so your starters are gonna have played a lot of minutes in hope they hold yeah I think the good -- well. I said I -- most of its he had the NBA though regulators are can't go that.
I don't understand what Utah's doing right now -- I don't I don't get why -- struggling to talk about this and my latest NBA power rankings. Will be trying to WEEI dot com bill -- any. You Todd is a team you look at may have.
Look at the coaching staff. You look at their best player the second best player their third best player and I didn't pitch and -- good Darren Darren Williams is kind of hampered right now he's not a 100%. There are questions even going into the game last night whether he was going to be able to play or not but. I mean he's really good. Even even if if Darrent Williams. Is. Knotted at a 100% think Eisenhower when their team yeah. I add items or whether slides -- and that's why for me last night's victory was so impressive. Com that's good team Ali you know they're gonna play some -- this year and they played some -- decent some teams you know that that can't hang with them that's not -- that's pretty good teammate. They just I don't know he manhandled like I don't know I don't know thirteen. -- Open that -- supposed to be a good -- yeah you're right they are both big team that's what that's what so puzzling about. Response because they haven't played well this year. Looking elsewhere that the vast world of sports stopped in front of us that we so surprised why it was everybody's so shocked. Why was -- a story. Not in the sports part of the newscast at 6 o'clock last night on TV but in the new -- Of the newscast. Tom Brady. With a -- problem. Would reach out and talk to Peyton Manning. Also had any problem about treatment that he might have gotten hurt US staph infection I got that going on here how did you guys tree why we so shocked that the.
Why -- up for it if anybody's shocked but you know Peyton down -- it -- try to downplay and say. You know -- in my injury was not like I couldn't really relate to where Thomas coming from because I had a different. -- pavilion where there -- severe so calm blue is up had a talk in general about we you know what it's like not to play but he still played. You didn't miss any time. In -- miss any regular season games. I thought it was a little patent a -- was a little off yesterday. I'll I'll I'll and I am I just at my micro I'll let and then. Don't speak for anybody else dobbs is that the it if you are reporter going into that interview thinking are we got we got Peyton Manning on the line gonna have some good stuff Saturday. Too little disappoint.
And I understand like first of all I think he knows that they are really up against that this weekend. I mean this this is as good a team as they played. You know they haven't played especially well last couple weeks they've won. But they haven't dazzle. You know they got a bunch of guys missing I'm sure he's going into this game. At least a little nervous inside whether real admitted publicly or not so that probably tempers. Some of your enthusiasm if you're going to this thing thinkin' hey you know what we get all the bullets and -- they got all the bullets and they're -- let's see what --
Just seem like to me that. People were looking for. Kind of some of the same stuff we topped by yesterday they were looking for. -- Brady Manning stories. Every if you have rivals. What you want either is how much they hate each other bright or how cool they are despite the arrival. So what we love hearing the story that's why you know Jackie's book resonate so much is magic and Larry. They hated each other east coast west coast lakers Celtics flash versus blue collar lunch pail guy.
they felt they couldn't let the world know when they were playing that they were friends. You know that there was that whole thing about. Larry getting tickets for magic when they were playing at the garden and you know it's like I can't let people onto -- yeah.
What I wanna know that it's that close. What you -- you still wanna hear Chamberlain -- it. They didn't wanna Austin that they were friends back they didn't know that Bill Russell was going to Russell's Amanda Brussels gone Chamberlain's house for Thanksgiving and -- and that it is bad. By itself but.
We do know that at no --
It and they would have been mortified if we have now I decided it they would never have allowed that there's another -- another thing we -- know -- know it. The Tito and Joe Torre were so close up yankees Red Sox Karen Bigelow -- again as a manager. Heating unit really wannabe and he -- through this many times I don't think fans wanna see me out on the field hanging out with the manager of the Yankees. Like yesterday. I at least I didn't want to hear some. -- with these stories he's Brady Manning stories and and Peyton Manning yesterday just in one of.
What's different day and age and I understand that I'm just not shocked that that two guys who have as much in common is they do. Our friendly. I mean to use the basketball term they're both gym rats. Another both us into a study here's of the game students of the ball game. -- If he didn't show up looking like down I probably wouldn't drop that I -- I'm not -- program despite the suit I -- not at that dot net. Let's use -- is ignorance and message of sids was what I apologize -- what was the contacts. Us and to assist their cell. That they they are such as soon juiced study years of the game I mean I -- OK you know what I apologize it's it's an -- team and and I need to go sit over here for about ninety seconds.
