Do you think that. -- gross spec and Steve pal UK and the rest of the celtics' ownership group. When they sat around and talked about the beginning of the NBA season and a huge match up with LeBron and Shaq in the Cleveland Cavaliers and opening day. There ripping it out all the publicity they were gonna get you know the start of the season it's that positive happy time of year. The -- think they had an idea that all of the Celtics news that they were going to be looking at today was probably not so good.
Well what which part is not so good and other big baby news is not your -- John Rondo. Well Rondo -- let -- I never I never take agent seriously at this point mean. It's negotiating its what is agent is supposed to do the Celtics are supposed to play the game agents play the game. The deadline is what Saturday. So -- today is Tuesday a lot of things can change between Tuesday and Saturday. I don't buy it at all that you know we're gonna we're gonna become restricted free -- when I turn it now I wouldn't be surprised if on Thursday or Friday. There's some press conference to announce or some statement released that. Rondo has signed an extension with the Celtics now big baby that is legitimate there's no hype about that. A guy is supposed to be preparing for the season. He just signed. A nice contract in the off season not nothing groundbreaking but a nice deal for him. He's he's being an important member. Of their rotation I think they go nine deep. And he's one of the nine did yeah now that they still do system when ninety just up for the foresee it well it will be different night now -- And it was one of those nine guys he he provided insurance for Kevin Garnett. And Garnett averaged 21 minutes a game in a pre season. And if if he's going to be the Kevin Garnett we we remember the got to add eleven more minutes to that number eleven or twelve more minutes. To see the KG we saw 20072008. If he's not able to do that you got Rasheed what you got Rasheed Wallace who can step in and you thought you had big baby. Instead big baby is getting into a fight. With his with a one of his college teammates. And breaking. His right -- Putting him on the shelf for about two months.
You know we don't know exactly what happened and at some point will will have the complete story but what we do know is this. What -- spec was on Fox25 this morning doing an interview with gene mentioned. Wicks said that a suspension was -- and I think his terms were extremely or very likely. Which means that whatever happened. They're not very happy about growth in other words if this was an accident all at home yet in -- the -- dominant car door well one of those things. They don't suspend you for that. They suspect deeper stuff that they already think -- is not very good here. And it it's almost beyond the -- was only defending himself stage. Because it it was he's only defending himself -- they suspend him for that either. You can't help but if some guy wanna -- one.
Well I disagree with that now they've they've probably I don't think it makes a difference to want. That they're probably suspending him for his port judgment. Do you kick you can't help if somebody attacks you you can't help somebody in your house. But even if there in your house and they attack you you can't help quite get what what white. Why -- you you have to be accountable as a professional you have to be accountable for the type of people you surround yourself with.
Obviously -- level former teammate presumably a friend. Why would you expect that there would be an altercation in your -- we have blood why why do you think he's been suspended. Because I don't I think that the story we have is incomplete and the story they have it's more completely. It may not a bad -- self defense situation which is what where in an attempt to try to make it sound better right I would thank -- Astronomy can sound better I -- I think he was well it if you're suggesting that it and I've heard this this morning. You know but it may it was a self defense now see I I think they already know that that's not true. And I think that's why what prospect is already saying a suspension is very likely.
Listen I don't sometimes people are in the wrong place at the wrong time and and it's it's bad luck. Sometimes it's a situation that you create it sometimes like the people you hang out with so give -- they have you have. Invited somebody to your house. And this and if this person is emotional. If this person can't control themselves and you can't control yourself from this person that's why don't -- panorama.
and I understand everything you're saying Michael. I think the fact that -- prospects as a suspension is very likely leads me to believe that they think big baby was a little more responsible for this. And then at first blush it might -- And and that the first of your in your house. And your house guest -- tax you. And your spending and often break your thumb I'm not sure they suspend you for that but if you're more involved than that then I think that they do.
Well I think they suspend use of the store like I I never read the story that way and I outbursts audibly give credit where do efforts are by people that. Yesterday in Boston Herald outburst. Right around right around 6 o'clock somewhere in there. And he was trying to put any kind of spin on it he wasn't trying to say you know look at poor baby here he was being attacked. No he he he he. Put it out there straight ahead. Defending himself. Defending himself in an in an attempt to defend himself. And a fight that he may have started somebody else may have started at bats that that's totally different if if he's defending himself and -- some guy jumped him and he's defending all -- and that's different event but yet you're bringing things into the story that weren't there. Now you're you're adding you're adding a narrative that doesn't exist Ali said it was is that it's up. I don't know what that makes it could mean that he started the fight and then somebody try to get him back. And then he broke his finger.
These -- like that pay that role was according to sources Davis was defending himself at the time yeah I agreed that sentences meaning not my fault I'm not only myself.
Why why -- well how is that sentence YO heart under.
It's not that we're on Wednesday and which are comprehend and as -- sources Davis was defending himself at the time defending himself and not somebody jumped him. How about I sorry but that's the way -- okay well we're. Which we disagree on on the on the comprehension of this includes very basic English sentence. Ali said was the defending himself -- the dot at the time so. Did he started I don't know. He gonna start about it -- different but right. The best that you're you're you're you're bringing something there that's not I'm reading a sentence that says according to sources Davis was defending himself at the time.
I read that sentence and it indicates to me not Davis's fault he.
There's Davis was defending himself but that I had that time five minutes earlier he could have been.
Punch in the -- which I think it's more likely if they're gonna suspend this guy well -- that don't -- him. Any any you don't back up here any breaks -- I don't think they suspend.
Dale you have you have brought something you have you have brought something to the story. That shouldn't be in the story you have brought assumptions of the story that I don't I don't know why you you're bringing them there. As the I thought the Celtics suspend outweigh any end in which turns a suspension was quote unquote very likely why would they suspend. Because of the situation -- beat because he was not at fault OPEC why your safety or that they -- it I felt like it was not at all no no listen. I'm saying to you.
People -- never mentioned fault do it right exactly and and social and they are trying to defend big baby I'm not suggesting it's I'm reading.
Bull that sentence. And and his sources are great I'm sure it's sentences accurate. If if the owner of the team says they suspension is very likely that doesn't indicate self defense to. That indicates some degree of up. He's he's partially at least responsible for this you don't suspend the guy who's defending himself as it would have been up in a bar. You don't you don't suspend Paul Pierce could begin --
Play dealt -- we're we're we're not gonna get anywhere. -- you're not here when I'm Stan and obviously I'm on here which -- thing. Let let's move one bit basically what not what I'm trying to say to you is this. At that time. At the time is a key part of the sentence. The I'm reading the entire sentence. At the time he was defending himself right what was he doing a minute later what was he doing a minute earlier we don't know. But the break occurred when he would I -- he was when he was defending himself. Now did he break as he. What was he was he up punching the guy in the face and then the guy responded any any bent his allies thumb backwards. I don't know all the says is at the time. So no. I don't believe the story is trying to say. Big baby was an innocent bystander he was reading his Celtics playbook and somebody just jumped him and broke his finger -- guy.
Here's the rest of or or the part that was quoted another part of what -- specs quote two genes of anti quote. I've had enough of big baby so I'm gonna start calling in the land it certainly seems like there's going to be a suspension here on quote. It indicates some some peak on the part of what grows back peak beyond. A guy got hurt you know. Brian Scalabrine runs into a cameraman and gets hurt you get hurt in -- stuff happens. They're not -- indicate any peek at Brian Scalabrine York or Ray Allen takes an elbow in the face and has to get stitches. It sounds to me like what -- spec isn't very happy here. An end to me just reading and I why -- I freely admit I'm reading into it here. It indicates some some -- to on the part of a big baby here what gross specs comments sound to me like. They know what's going on here of course they know what's going and and they don't like what they've heard and this is beyond. Union might have a teammate of former friend of friend former teammate in your home. With a certain expectation probably that can -- a fight. I mean abide by it my house I don't match we're gonna get him in roll around in the dirt at some point I know you'll you know meet.
Well I don't know what's he made it was an I don't know the history with that teammate maybe they're does not. Maybe they're not good reach other no there was there was a guy. Former LSU player. Who was recently cut. Temple as his last name and they play -- big baby -- for the tigers. He was recently cut was the it was that it is that teammate he's had a history of skirmishes with. Was it you know sometimes when you fight with your brother and it gets out of hand was it a was it a situation. Where. This guy I was jealous of baby.
