Well I will say -- Per game that started -- bland for about 45 innings after got past the first pitcher got fun to watch later on. I mean it was a little as the announcer just settle nerve wracking for those Angel fans late but it was fun to watch.
It was a great game it was so great that. Maybe -- go back to my original prediction.
There will be a seven game series. Maybe you think angels can win game six. Does not now only gets Saunders. I don't like that I'd now like data back -- got peppered video Arkansas under god like that match on the angels not even like -- little you probably don't delighted that that get a botched chances it be funny if we could go out of the seven. The play that back. It. Really. Not -- you gotta think that if you could get it to a seventh game given what happened back in 2004 that -- tightening around the the nether regions on the part of the of the Yankees candidacy you know it it's it's interesting we talk about series there's that. A psychology to a series. That I'm always I'm always fascinated -- okay team is down three games to one.
You say there's no way and come back when three games which is that yesterday -- the angels. So that they win game five. And you say they won game five you're telling me there's enough well there you know get -- yet you know not there yet because now. Now I don't like the matchup here what it and then you go back to the stadium and right. But if you win if you win game six no one cares about you know three games in a row right no team has ever come back again what what you force. Of a victory and -- to force a game seven. Right. That this is actually it is actually a little silly. When Ellen no team has come back from three zip down a team -- about 31. What you get the 33 who cares if by that you wine and if but the Red Sox winning four games in a row. Or you're down and if you win three games -- of the matter what you forced game seven if anybody well.
And it it goes back really to even regular season. How hard ideas for any team to sweep a three game series. NM we're not talking about two of the best teams in the league if you're playing and all them plummet and apple. Because -- example that at its Toronto if you're playing Toronto it's hard to sweet refereed games over weekend I mean if you're playing. You know Kansas City or Texas or whoever it's hard -- closings and and and they're not good teams like you got involved you know in the ALCS in the NL CSI understand a little bit what they're saying in that. It's it's just hard to win forget three in a -- remember team that won four enroll once. I mean you shouldn't be able to win four games in a row against a team as good as a team in an AL CI.
It's easy to win. It's easy to win -- wrote you -- went three. Is that I don't look at the bus or that you don't win but my point is. Game seven should even count in in the consecutive wins -- what you've come all the way back from from the dead. And is 33. -- you got a chance it doesn't matter. You know at that team the home team does not have an advantage. While you know they. They've -- those two games on the road to make it 33 but. How we're very difficult to aim is to beat three times in a row and no we haven't done that all year so I like our chances nobody thinks that right. What you've blown a 31 lead. You scared to sort talking ourselves into.
that the Obama or how are jokes -- as you're -- Joe Joe Joe. You know like -- I don't my attitude -- the night you name. I think that the Yankees are you hate to say it but. The best -- I look I hate him but they are. I mean it's amazing think about this Mark Teixeira is about 133. I'd be -- 180 million dollar wonder -- who has been. Every bit of an MVP candidate all season long. And and and has been unbelievable all season long. Is written marginally better than you would meet for -- things and I'm being facetious here he's not it at all. Now -- like a demon and when they actually let -- let me ask you this -- what did you think about the -- decision last night by Mike -- You've got two -- already -- Yeah nobody on base I I think it was a smart move by associate and I think what are tied up -- it worked no not an L I I think there are a lot of times when -- kind of you know. Outsmart himself right. You're only up by a run this guy has been white -- Home run balls leaving his bat like crazy now and and and by the way I got Bryant went -- on them. I'm not I'm fired up about that Brian Fuentes on the mound he has gotten two -- for you are ready yeah but -- stand in there -- one swing of the -- ties and I know A-Rod. A-Rod had a home run off of him. Earlier in the arteries. So it's not like four days is that a lot of success against Iraq but play along with -- as the game was going on I thought you know what I'm walkin' here and then he stepped up and that's exactly what he'd received boat with two outs. Nobody on base that's to keep him in how lucky you might you go after. Up by 11 swing of the bat ties the game no I want swing of the bat he does tie in the game and you bat last. I I don't care I actually. -- wanna face him. Order while wanna face the guy behind Hideki Matsui red faced Matsui every single time then what happens. When I noticed but I'm playing -- long before it -- Okay before it happened and I understand one swing of the bat by Mets Julian and their head by Iran. Now I I I I really thought I'm not a huge Mike Scioscia then at times but I really thought he played on right.
I disagree with both managers last night on the same move. All of all of one -- all the -- sequence I disagree with -- them okay. So Mike -- decides to -- A-Rod nobody on you put a guy on base and once one of the -- you could be down 87 right. This situation happened. We're up 76. I decided to put a guy on base. It knocks one out apartment above a worst don't know why I understand what you and I am going into it who has a better chance of once we absolutely. Iran has the better. They put they put Iran on four days wasn't happy about it. Bottom line did and he nobody was happy with social last night and got in on the mound for the rank and it's his line. Right any escapes a very dangerous situation so. They put -- on items like that from -- ocean. And unlike the Joe Girardi. Took amount of the game. -- pinch runner right. Let's say you just tie the game.
Well it's it's always the question we asked when Terry Francona. You know bull pinch run when David Ortiz is on it and he always talks about you know what happens. If his turn the at bat at the at bat comes up the next -- and and you don't have him there because you pinch ran for a more pinch hit for you have got to our whole staff got two outs.
And it got on first base. The innocent and a pinch runner for Alex Rodriguez. To tie the score. There's a lot. And don't let you know what at that point I was almost rooting. Work for them to tie the score because I wanted to see what they were gonna do you know what -- it's not like you're at home I could see doing it at Yankee Stadium perhaps because. Whatever you do you have a chance of winning the game -- it it it yankees seem right the brains don't even of the Yankees take the lead there the game is not over angels are coming up. Got a chance to got got a chance to tie you up particularly the chance to beat you imagine another 1213. Inning game. Enable write an eight Conrad nightmare jacket on and your hottest hitters that there are I hated that situation. But I I don't know I think I hated so justices -- more lucky got out of it. The angels are gone back to New York it down three games to two. It can be a series again.
It could be -- and I don't think it will be but but you know what almost because of view and partly because I've love to see what pressures like in game seven I'm really root for the angels. I don't think they'll win and I don't think they can win but I think you'd be so much fun to see what it would you like down there. If if they've all -- and oh my god you mean 2000 force happened and again. Now we got to play a game for seven. Processor or I don't know if he's so much fun to see what it would be like down there they'd be crazy.
Now I should be SEC believer by now I -- SEC black eyed LLC and copy. I love season this year I don't CC over on the average. But now. The pressure would be ratcheted up. And and it do you revert to the old Jason ten times -- well obviously now you you are charged with. Stopping another collapse.
Let me viewed that way even though they weren't weren't up three zip yeah will be viewed as a collapse all would ever. Be so much for -- biggest. I'd like -- I I grew up in New England sari. I don't much care about the Yankees didn't care for the Yankees. I mean as a Red Sox fan it's delicious to think about what would be like I don't think it's realistic I think they're the best team in baseball. I think they'll win this series -- get into again I say they're gonna win the next series and I think that they're gonna have their 27 -- to get into -- games -- all be fun I agree with he would be a blast.
