When did you decide to run for the Senate.
Yeah I was that Ted Kennedy's funeral is a friend of mine and had. And many people came up the -- said that the economy. Is in real trouble. We lost a 100000 jobs last twelve months and we get -- other important you've been. On the ground building businesses and and know how it is to build business we need jobs back -- Massachusetts and it's time for you to step up and -- but I thought about it and I think -- I can do that I I have experience building businesses. I have been of the medical history and and and obviously we have a huge health care throughout their. I thought about that it -- part let them they might get children out my together serve as a freshman and a junior high school that they were supportive of that are big chart that the -- that they -- there really.
Steve don't you for a few years. Every time -- around you probably spend like happy go lucky guy. It's with a smile on your face young lovely wife for a terrific kids. While valued oh and it says. You all on the Celtics prolong the Celtics and you know I mean. I'm sure you can be a tough negotiator because I'm not in the back rooms of London and and the Middle East where you cut now these billion dollar deal so and you get the job done so obviously. You might have a different character that I don't recognize walking the streets of Boston on the parquet. But Saddam I mean with this something you wanted to for a long time or is that I mean that Kennedy influence or confluence of these things --
Eric it was a it was a problem and I think we're at it pretty unique moment in history we we have almost financial collapse. About thirteen months -- global and US financial collapse. And you'll have a lot of great people Washington but they're mostly clear politicians and lawyers. I would bring something different. I don't want that collapsed happen again we have a we have a thirteen trillion dollar national debt you know you guys know. In 1982 it was a big deal -- crossed trillion. -- to -- 200 years to get through train announced thirteen trillion. So I can do something about it. I always at any you know they have always been the public service with the best decided project really children. We've built that into -- 600 strong organization the -- Massachusetts. Bought whichever art foundation by the way we have our gala. Tomorrow night. And there at the Renaissance then and we've we've supported. Many may children's causes because children -- here it is as children homes. It's been a wonderful charity so I've been in public service and and that's what the respect of the -- in the suburbs in the community.
As they -- sprung this on Jody what did you say. Which is a surprised.
You know it we we thought about it for two or three days said it would let all the phases and and that area that day you know she was supporter. You know -- think about the -- has called into the blood sport Massachusetts's. Yeah yeah. I think there's more outpost on the net and the boards of the Celtics yeah. But she believes that we can make a difference since you've been very supportive and all these other things that we we've done and and -- by the front -- within. And as she served the state she is something that turned our board of that development board and a great job on those so. So you know we've we've been out part of the American dream that you guys know my grandfather capability. Yet nothing. And my father fought in in in a world war two and then back to Korea is the only guy in his is that I also get a college education OJ had built. The site you'll like it you know I had I really had shut the American dream and and I I think we gotta get it for other people and we've got to get the deficit down we gotta get people -- health care and I think I can really make sense so I decided to jump at.
Know yours is a noble American story no question Steve and stand -- guy and a community we wish you the best of luck in your in your campaign and from our own personal experiences of course -- good guys well. I gotta tell you that when nobody's happier -- you -- and and this than the true Celtic fan when they -- regain a the championship form a couple of years ago I think last year we don't notwithstanding the injury Kevin Garnett they're read back and again station lakers. Certainly this year are making an equally optimistic maybe a little more so optimistic. Estimate of wins for the team I've heard other people make it to 72 wins. That's okay every -- ten I just keep everything nice and even over there. And -- how we look forward to season he -- Rasheed Wallace the new addition the team everybody's kind of sit on his team is deep and they are going to be good is that. Other way you guys collectively feel.
so that think this is the strongest came we've had since we've been here. Are we would always look Marquis Daniels you know days of the Internet for years. And now -- Is just real prime time player and such great it's -- first Quarshie. You know that they would we know which is a competitor to us. But it's -- we'll have been mostly -- came or a player great family man. And I think you can appreciate it if you're watching games I watch which -- just about -- almost obsessive very late at night early in the morning but. There really palpable that they chemistry is fantastic out there and Garnett hostilities. Is if he's comeback that the operation. So very optimistic about this season.
It's Marquis Daniels said. Potentially gonna -- some point guard and no that's Doc Rivers decision but. Steve.
It is he had it is. LT. He can rotate off what -- And evidently have a great thing go on. They'll bring the ball that's 660 concealed all the other players and he can had a great sense for where it is so you -- it -- I think Eddie Eddie outscored the bronze last night.
You know 21 points. I still take LeBron tells me you -- assure -- and you all over that story. -- he's speaking of the -- Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron has the opening night actions out there. And that's going to be a game there was you're watching for obvious reasons but -- Near the than the new acquisition you know in the big man position for Cleveland the fact that that they disappointed trip last year in LeBron just all of automatic calling card Barbara. -- we're talking about for the for the Celtics really opening night is a is a huge test for this team.
Actually that's going to be -- what the most fun night's episodes ago that got to Cleveland we want their longtime. And overcoming and are there really strong squad if this first time it would we we faced the Oakley was are starting unit. And we if you have to -- Shaq check of the brunt.
a Steve you know and we'll all. Well I'll read too much into what these Celtics went illusion knows how we are around here but diet is an intriguing. -- you know open -- I want to ask him back to campaign how you doing these commercials right. And you gotta put makeup was the last time you make up the are you there I thought I Halloween Halloween movies I have have been asking I don't know questions are you by surprise right. Now I mean it's Atlantic what was the make -- of that is that. I and almost I don't notice that. I can't tell but I his soul might seem -- let me as a super high Def TV and -- were you when -- don't you guys who -- So I mean what was that involved enough.
Yeah I think data demonstrate something so. That's right. But a body if they don't shine your China's current and those you gonna do our debates.
We are this big debate coming up Monday night right. What if you wanna come down and all the scientists. You know we're we're we're going to be people forced out there it's been great this let's -- in great rest. People are coming to the web site. People coming to our offices. There's a lot of excitement it will open up an end it's it's really been a wonderful thing just -- you know I'm honored to be part of this process we've got through we've got for the people running. A lot of experience. I have definitely different I totally different than the rest the candidates are the only candidate there's been on the ground building businesses.
As oppose the -- from politics.
I'm like a football -- there's nothing raw politics but I think -- bomb at a time. Where we really got to get this economy going up -- got to get jobs back here. And you on the most experts speculate that so the message is resonating. And and and and -- optimistic we -- great state where leaders in in many industries as they were leaders -- leaders about technology. Where leaders in in net histories were -- leader -- high tech. We're leaders intend in precision manufacturing for defense so we've got all the ingredients.
Sports team. Sports teams Tuesday. That the sport about it at.
It could save about you know the the debates in -- can get down and dirty -- I've never seen you math I mean it just doesn't seem to be in your DNA. And yet there's going to be some stuff thrown back and forth and I don't shall be civilized to a degree but it can get nasty to each you know from my have a debate. How you Cadillac I mean that you know will we see a different state bags.
Are -- I think -- ourselves that you are you are now. I I think the demagoguery and the name calling is is it just doesn't get anything done -- we don't have health care coverage for every American. We don't have energy policy there we do not have a there's. People are people are you know fighting extremism. And calling names but that they're admitting that in getting that let the school. It negate that they they don't like what they've done is. You get the facts stay calm stay focused that's how you win championships in the NBA. And that they get in an American so this is the same the same person you always seeing. And I think that I bothered by having everything -- revealed stick with something that Barack electoral -- up wanting it should take shut the -- anyway.
That's true. -- You know the -- and a look at the odds here this these -- handed to me that the NBA godsey NBA odds to win the championship lakers a total one cavaliers ten to three and the Celtics come in third. At fort of one OK at the lakers get whose -- they get into to get this done we'll run a test at that -- Talk Colorado -- that I did he write the lakers as much as I do Steve.
You know what I've been here for years and tell that -- is that the deal championship over the lakers and Larry Bird days now. -- I think it's -- it's in your blood I didn't but I love played them because. It's so electric when they come here to guard that we thought LA. If I was out and LA for all close games. And it's great to see the celebrity's you know -- the other hand will be.
Right he had just spectacles is as a what's it what to do as his I got it ought. I am a regular Celtics came and normally you of course are required rebalancing of beer in my head when you know is to answer to get on the big screen. If -- whereupon you go for a for senator bumper sticker from my face of the delegates as is much -- up there on the big screen.
Orbit -- book is seen as well. --

Mary stated everything everybody in Massachusetts that the Celtics fan Mets you know that's a lot of people. Army and they'll vote -- you know a lot of it has shape. You know so you you've got a new campaign like tonight and how he spoke to to a group tonight I think right.
I spoke to the small business association of new England and and ethnic group that the people who let small businesses and double that assist. And and I thank them for all they do. Because that's been a small businesses who it would bring jobs back.
And in house basketball are much it's that integrated and when you have to -- speak to these people and they'll want to say ASE value -- good black man who talks only about a zen garden -- I mean that you get a lot of matters that before you've gone to speak. You know -- stuff.
They'll let you know commercial that is I think I meant by -- commercial. Well -- tie -- if you get Judy Holland but more. Yeah. Yeah that's right I mean he's only opera like.
And then stand up plus the good news is -- Steve probably his tire of talking about the Celtics as much like when when Ronald Reagan -- talk about the twenty mule team for extra. For a minute show brought to you by Barak -- and number showing designed I --
That I know I agree having other Celtics questions because. Because really the Celtics. Kind of pride and tradition -- are -- what is what the biggest civil rights news that we had the.
right now number. --
American came. So the first several Americans in the NBA and I talk to read about the slot and you -- I respect the red berries are. For the best -- court to the courtroom it's all about equality but hit that shot. And that's what -- that it chooses to this country great so I'd love target Celtics because of the of the total -- set. That everybody -- that shot there and win the championship everybody should have a shot at the American dream like I did and that's the way right now and we. We gotta gotta get those jobs back here. And and that's why I'm so excited about the.
good man Stephen and I a guy who could certainly do a great job we wish the best -- the campaign in the debate as well and you I -- fight the good fight and it will be an interesting story to continue watching.
