I don't break it up again man long time no talk you know about after we actually miss you miss July. -- yeah a -- like why. I was beautiful Yankee Stadium today. It's not the beautiful it's it's very yet -- Tripoli titan rain but the Yankees look like. Not work out -- now it's just like it had been players come off the field. But you know the conditions probably it the next 72 hours. Which or met with the Yankees pitching rotation. The one I'd just heard -- technique called out did they make it is called -- window. In which they can play tomorrow night that's not an official at the weather quartet. But -- it in April when it's worth but that the -- right now. Roster I didn't chart all of the predictions. Before the playoffs started but I'm wondering if you're surprised. That is going to be angels yankees and ALCS format Red Sox yankees. And I -- the red that the winner not that was wrong they. There's no question at that period went along an ad season went along. -- that read that they -- in the two -- music music you like clay and Ruben Sierra in right field we Gary Sheffield. It let healed -- and we sort of older slower. Defensively challenged group -- guy and I think that was exposed by the angels. And certainly something I underestimated was how well. John Lackey throwing its -- -- a lot of light on -- on -- -- -- that you'd set the tone right off the bat. Buster the Yankees afraid of Joba Chamberlain's starting a game against the angels in this round. So much they think that. He's clearly shown net. Now for whatever reasons yet. He's suited to come out the open on the last eight regulars eaten it out game and that would -- old job the fire brigade job. Attacking you'd act and strike -- -- that all at the -- been available and then you know. I think that what it. Well okay that that what works within minutes -- ago. It's fairly clear that if the weather net with their plant it's. About eight -- indeed work. That they would go look at -- -- jobs in the open. Buster. I think I noticed something after late may or or or June with the Yankees -- they went from. A collection of high bright guys. Too -- a really good team a team that reminds me. Of those yankees that existed before your book came out the last night of the Yankee dynasty argument that it seems like something happened I'm wondering who gets the credit for. About I think eight guys. They brought in deserves some credit for at least changing beginning he changed the culture. -- AJ Burnett and Nick Swisher and he sees -- that the those -- With a personality they make and so well. That the -- side and really making efforts -- getting out. So we made an effort and changed it the way it went about it it doesn't make himself the bill will focus on baseball and I think we saw. During the post in note Eric acknowledged out in in the I think worked with a more than he has in the past. So I think all of -- and to contribute to it I agree would you like the culture really different. -- is the New York media making a big -- lot of the fact that Alex was in Miami yesterday having dinner with Kate Hudson. Buster -- and I have had a debate here in the past. Probably month or two about the future of Jason Bay he believes that if Jason Bay doesn't side with the Red Sox the sound the Yankees and and my point is that. I don't think the Yankees. Will be interested in Jason Bay what do you think I think maybe interest and and younger outfielder. -- on Daria at that would like on the one. -- absolutely. Not only -- -- I want the high price of free agent outfielders I think what they're gonna do is. They're going to make it offered try to get any game come back one year. Toward that probably you know try to do something with that -- But you know they've that is terrific young up he -- Jack coming up some. Time in the next year's and perhaps make -- decision. Probably the move Derek Jeter and I think -- -- it was going to be the most likely spot but don't think you're gonna clutter up. And I can -- that they read not primary competition for -- today. You got -- at the appropriate too because not Jason Bay. It certainly in the first step instrument at each provide the out -- the at eight hitter went up the you know that -- and most of the general managers out a walk with it so defensively challenged it. -- very quickly he's gonna go to mediate so you're. Of the Red -- A lot he's open to -- -- deal with a guy who probably projected DH after -- -- seriously doubt it that's not the way to do things. I was gonna -- a four year deal and he could replace Ortiz is the DH next year. Yeah yeah I -- That's were quite competent you -- area. Whether. Oh or. Separatist goers on the scene and maybe the cardinals it'll resigning holiday -- some other people's stepped up so desperate. It enemy in Atlanta howling like in in the -- the -- market -- Will that Libya and get it figured that gave the -- that move. Buster as you know your team gets swept. And everybody overreaction and maybe the analysis is is archer that it needs to be but I think you made reference to a earlier the Red Sox -- -- the 2005 yankees. Against the angels that looks low they looked old. What are they have to do it do they have to move on from Mike Lowell and David Ortiz stepped up the dramatic like trading Papelbon what do you think. It to top need to make over because he is contracts that -- under contract. And it goes ignored C. But I'd do if they're gonna need to do something at least. They've made and it certainly it would go out in yet. Now that the perfect solution now and that would be some like fielder but let's face it -- certainly in Albany -- -- last year they -- trade. There yet there are not what what page you're Adobe that some of the guys and promoted and -- been traded. So they're probably capital raise. As we don't. Sign -- holiday here beta. Corporate rate the solution but I would not be surprised if they make it is agent on either you know commit one way the other -- Moving out -- Mike Lowell or like oh look at the very reduced role next year. I need to me -- -- -- remote -- given what you know what they're right art and what they're gonna need. When the snow came to Denver last weekend Charlie Manuel bounced Pedro Martinez from his start. Why is why is he trying so hard to get him -- start in this round. You know I'd find the kind of like them at Ide despite thing I really like but. It was rescued by the no outlet we can think okay well good at least that idea ever gonna happen in any stepped up what are still. Page 1 December 19 in -- its -- really that we. I back in -- -- Charlie later. Like. Very underrated manager but I think that probably it region that he might have thought about it. He's not well okay not the end up that you backcourt of -- Morton. Netcam and James -- they basically haven't seen Pedro is -- regulars are not you'd look and June picked. And it apparently at only at bat against him. I I know that I'd be surprised probably go to what you think about what. A Charlie in the player's manager and -- problem that made it like art thing but I I don't think it's good idea. It's that doesn't mean that you caught Charlie Manuel and underrated manager have a theory that that the more. Personal boy you are in the end the less self important that you are as a manager. The less credit you'll get. For your for your strategic decisions you don't go around patting yourself on the back. Another guy who fits in that category for me is Joe Torre believe it or not you think Joe Torre. Is underrated for his strategy and -- gets a lot of credit for. Is way to methodical about how about a strategy the underrated. I actually had a different part that I under rated in terms of how a court in Italy players it's a great layer from -- year. Very engaged with the occupants. You know wait what in the last year it would -- holding you need. -- On the I'd be overrated became manager I don't think he's good. During the regular run in the bullpen. The weakness in the regular -- which is to go to that and it becomes strength in the post. -- -- looked at the urgency which is okay would have all the built in opt in a better manager strategically India during the regular season. Do you think he's serious about wrapping it up after next year. Now not really. -- I -- from end any time that at Munich we came back but it is the giant expect there. That became public it added that Jamie McCourt. They'll -- it is said the chip -- really really that he did those forward and let's face it isn't like with a managers get caught up in the. Buster it is pretty apparent that the angels are extremely comfortable playing the Yankees -- like they had their number. Do you expect the angels to come out of ALCS. With with a ten. You know I don't think so I I don't like the eight hour and I -- -- -- change on again in in just absolutely. Yet I haven't they eat you -- regular. 320 edit it and it -- regular games. But for whatever reason. He just like that doesn't want -- -- eat -- I thought oh well. The career one hitter in the vote he'd been. At prodigy because. When the angels -- the best in Munich he touched on again tonight in talking with the Yankees to Connecticut go to opt out. They look -- being Nikki got. He does not. And not from where what they read that -- I don't think they beat the -- And especially because. Dale and DJ get into the two coaches and their polar opposite styles and demeanor. Both teams play a similar style, but the coaches certainly convey their messages in a different way. Dale isn't buying the Tortorella hype and thinks he's a little overrated. DJ thinks he's a good coach, but isn't a fan of anti-media stance. The guys also talk about Jagr and how he has not lived up to the hype. They weren't expecting him to light it up or be the savior, but DJ says he wasn't prepared for just how slow the aging veteran is. Another big topic for B's fans this season is the play of Tyler Seguin and why he has yet to become the superstar everyone anticipates he will be. This leads to Claude Julien's style and if he does actually have something against the younger players. That Iginla trade shows its ugly head again as well.
