Let me just say is that basically I'm coming off a life. Long vacation and actually going to -- worked -- You know there's just there's just so much to get ready. That Thursday night game Pittsburgh and Tennessee in return right around on Sunday night in and do Chicago an agreement today. So I'm going to the various cities were doing the game because it's gonna happen so fast back to back in. I cannot understand why John lived on a -- now there's no time -- now you know you don't have time to come home and I've got my boys playing high school football now and and so I believe me it is logical course of voters. Well -- better script error rate by and then you know legal or Jack well being dictate dictate progress and no. But it's the way it is and and it's. -- it but there's still nothing in this toward the replaces being there you know being in the stadium and calling the game and the the immediacy. Yeah you almost have to say Minnesota -- because it that was a team that it even those states was just did okay in the first. -- preceding game and Tarvaris Jackson has played well and spurts. It's a great football team a tremendous deep sense one of the best running backs in football. -- and as a weapon in Percy Marvin. And they just didn't have the the point part you know and I think that's all -- going to be right now I think he's going to be the point guard I think he'll be the distributors the ball. I think he's going to be -- they've they've died that this sort of calming influence on this franchise. Yes. They accept them. You know yes. This has -- all -- too much. Of the process for the Minnesota Vikings in the credibility of the coaching staff in the credibility of the organization. I understand I was in Green -- yesterday in the rumor was that. The players and Minnesota actually had up toward when he really was going to come to camping and takeovers I don't think you come as a huge surprise. To the to the players. For the Minnesota Vikings. But it's a major adjustment that he is he is a real upgrade you know we've we use on the New York last year before his arms started hurting at the end of the season. You know he's -- he's just a big upgrade -- that football team over what --

But he was terrible those last five games in New York that's our last. Memory of him Chris and grant that he was hurt but isn't he still hurt I mean he said. He had surgery but -- a partial tear in his rotator cuff and isn't every forty year old quarterback hurt to some extent why should this be different than the last month of last season.

I don't now you know it's it's it's the right question and I don't know. But I I saw him I call the game against the patriots and they were really sharp -- in no -- I mean he played really well. So you know you have to take it for what it did you have to sit on the Minnesota Vikings aren't stupid. You know they know he's forty years old they know the issues that he had put his arm. On the and that they have to be satisfied today you know if you if you watched Brett play. That the big thing to me that he does is a doesn't take sacks. And in peace he gets the ball out of his audience so you know when you have a young quarterback and -- doing have a -- Jackson. You just come after menu trying and stop Adrian Peterson on the way to the quarterback you know pressure pressure pressure if teams try to do that now against Brett. That really played into his hand I think that now teams are gonna force him to try and throw the ball down the field. Because that's where you fell apart last year you know that's where the army issued really came and used to be able to keep Brett Favre. Which is horrible football work that he's had his entire career PLO to make these awkward throws and still get amend their because his arm was so strong. One now when you watched him a season ago with the footwork on up let them. Because now as he was trying to make awkward throws -- the battle -- he was thrown interceptions. So you can't you make a bit of a transition. And begin to work I attended doubt that you know you can't beat forty years old Jane -- lot at that point especially when they haven't been through training camp. So a lot of times with older players they looked great early in the weather's warm. Is not too bad of a sudden late in the year you get worn down he obviously hasn't been conditioning to play this entire offseason. You worn down and it shows up like if there's a season ago.

We're with a BC's Chris called brook and -- I'm wondering does Brad Childress need to do some fence mending at least with his quarterbacks quarterbacks by the way he may need to performance step up if indeed this forty year old quarterback Brett Favre. Goes down at some point.

That you may have to perform an action suit among those guys I -- can you imagine being indeed the quarterback of that team there's major Tarvaris and and that the roller coaster ride and and you know it's a little like Jason Campbell in Washington DC no matter what the coach of the organization may tell you. The truth is they did not think that either one of those two guys were good enough. To start in the NFL if they did they would be that they would not have gone through what they went through to give Brett. Or in Washington case trying to get Jay Cutler if they thought you were good not. And so there is no denying that message I mean you know no matter what they may tell those guys that truth is that true they didn't think they were good.

In the first year so maybe Brett because he used. On a new team. Keep you know falls in line in and tries to take over some leadership role but. Everybody is going to be watching. An -- and I'm not talking about from a media or -- standpoint everybody in that locker room. Is going to be just wanting to see what Brett does -- is he a Minnesota -- now or is she does entities that is spread far. And tries to standalone unit there are a lot of rumors about. You know was standoffish and in our Green Bay in in new York and you know not really a team guy and you know it with all that's happened. In this case for him to go in with a bit of an attitude or separating himself in Minnesota. I I can't create a scenario in my mind without work for the Minnesota right.

Chris well will Michael Vick in Philadelphia be just a backup to McNabb. Or will -- be used as some sort of dynamic offensive weapon any that the wildcat or may -- just getting him in space.

You know I I think that's the most uninteresting question for me about this season I'm beginning to wonder are we going to see a fundamental change in the way that football is played at the NFL while. While on a -- when it started for -- Is the Miami Dolphins obviously had. The quarterback of the president Chad Pennington the quarterback of the future and Chad -- And in the second round they draft now light. And I think everybody's wheels started turning at that moment. Oh we saw all the success the wildcat in a season ago the weakness of the wildcat. In what everybody will be working on this this offseason is. The inability typically of the running back to throw the ball officially just Ronnie Brown had a touchdown pass last year to -- page at all like kind of stuff understand. Which and I can have that he wasn't going to be Q. On a regular basis throwing the football. Now. What is Chad Pennington and pat -- are in the same backfield or once flanked out wide and or once in motion one way and either one can throw the ball so essentially now having two quarterbacks in the game the same time. Now from eight coverage standpoint. You can. Play it the way that teams played at last year which is to bring a safety down in the just play the run. Now you've got issues with respect. And I think that because of that move. Other teams now are starting disable what about if we did we drafted Tim Tebow. Or in this case what if we took Mike -- because Donovan McNabb could flanked out all weekend. Put quarterbacks going into different directions and who has the ball and -- you've got to cover all the way down the field and they can't come up and support the run and you know all the different scenarios that you can create. Whether it works I don't know. But I do think that this is a bit of a jumping off point in the league and and you know to be honest I really thought that that he might end up with the patriots you know that I know there was a lot of flirtation -- conversation there. And that would have been really interest think is the you know what what -- check -- this whole thing do so. Yeah I think this is the real really -- to watch the NFL to see how this is gonna take old.

Why it if you're Brad Childress you of the vikings. Why would you invest twelve million dollars in in -- win and Vick was available for much and that and Matt Cassel was available for a second round pick. We're a better options out there Chris.

Well except for the fact that -- Brett. Is this is his --

Yeah I mean this is what he knows he's going to be able to come in and in short order that although the players. In Green Bay yesterday were were Tommy said. There wasn't a doubt in my mind you he was not gonna go to training camp. You know ever ever a lot of homework right and he's gonna go all the time we just wondering go to -- to go to training camp so. You know he understands this offense she knows what he's doing and the quarterback coach was his coach and you know Green -- all like kind of stuff. So she'll be able to walk in there and don't know what he's doing with this system but. It. Donald Lee -- oh but there is one of the tight ends up there. What is was Tommy said you know the biggest thing he's gonna do. If he's gonna make it fun to play football for those guys you know we look at those guys and -- just don't look like you know it's like they're so they're under their comment is just not find. She you'll brain. That you will bring an element of funny you'll think that your playing in the backyard when your kid again when he walks in a huddle. And what the weapons they have in Minnesota that could be dangerous.

Speaking of fun Brady is having funny -- great example trustees and it seemed like one of those guys who appreciates it more now that he had a year off. Do you see any reason we're -- why Brady and moss and company shouldn't pick up where they left off Chris.

Well -- you know maybe I can always create a scenario. I couldn't find a dark cloud anywhere and this this is all I would say about this and and in I've found -- comments after the game to be really interest they when he said. You know I I just wish somebody would or smashed or whatever royalties that. And and you know as a player I can really relate to it the best moment when you're playing in an NFL game is the first time he did hit. Because your body immediately settles down. You know there's something to capital letters sound stupid but there's something calling about getting hit the first time because it's almost like. You get it over -- And so he really hasn't been tangled up in a pilot yet and and my point of references this. Carson Palmer in Cincinnati. Went through almost the same exact thing came back try to come back the next year the whole bit. He never did. Become the same guy he just wasn't the same guy the next year because. It in mostly because any time somebody got around his -- Whenever there was a scramble on the ground in front of them guys falling guys getting bar whatever the case -- She couldn't help themselves there was there was not a flange. That there was some -- Reaction that comes from somebody who's gone through what these guys have to go through rehab. To win if you flashback to what happened or the pain and you're nearer than the Braves or whatever it is. And and you react to it. Now is that gonna happen that Tom Brady I don't know you know nobody knows that answer. But I think it's something that until we see him getting knocked around until we see teams coming after him and blitzing him installing it is beat. You just won't know for sure you know the guy has done everything. So there's no reason to doubt them but I did I had I sort of personally lived through that watching Carson here in Cincinnati so I think Jeff --

Chris is -- it was no surprise you but -- I have -- fundamental disagreement. About the the impact of Michael Vick not so much on Donovan McNabb because -- and we both agree that McNabb in spite of what he says publicly. Might feel a little bit threatened might feel little resemble the Michael Vick is there waiting to be -- back a step in whatever the case may be our discussion was about established. It's a Super Bowl winning quarterback with -- and cash shape like Brady and like Manning and my contention is those guys are. Secure -- in their man who would or their reputation or their -- make the they would welcome a dynamic. Adjunct to their offense and -- seems that they. Quarterbacks -- quarterbacks -- eagle driven in at the Balkans on other hand and goes to somebody else to run the play even for several times a game they're not gonna like that you think Manning and Brady would welcome. Vick dog fighting aside just in terms of a weapon on the football field.

Yeah and there's those who may be the only two that I could name. Because it and I think that happened a lot I really do around the league this year when their wares the when there were teams that were saying well you know this Mike -- might really work out we might literally. I think a lot of quarterbacks went in and -- what he's trying to do to. You know and I understand that it's hard enough playing quarterback in the NFL as -- this. Because even if you're an established star those two probably the exception to the rule. But if you have a bad gamer too. You're gonna get booted through the quarterback and any other talk radio is gonna start coming Sunday editorials are gonna start coming after you and and all the different things. So now if you have. One of the most exciting players in NFL history. Sitting on the bench. And all by the way during the pre season he had these three plays that were the among the most electric things and we saw -- a thousand times on. ESPN and all the highlight shows. As a fan. You're teams down by three touchdowns and I paid that thousand dollars to -- in a luxury box somewhere what do you want. You wanna -- my bag Libyan and yet you want to be entertained darn right wolf we're gonna lose this game anyway I want I want my money -- work Leslie you know let's get Mike bacon again. And so I understand. Why eight teams would not want him in there and that that is of very big part of the equation I think it is applied to Thomas patent. Probably not in that would probably be at a bit of a weapon but those are about the only.

It will then it definitely applies to Donovan McNabb and oh yes they don't believe him to -- Philadelphia.

I'm -- I was you know between getting benched a season ago. And and where he sits contractually.
