Celtics season comes to a close

Has come to a close. Celtics. Just lose at home in game seven. Celtics get bullets that home in game seven falling to the Orlando Magic. And we turn our lonely eyes towards the base.

Notice a huge difference between two sentence -- honestly yeah to quit.

So look I don't think the Celtics quit last that it big. That what happened to them happens to all teams at the end of their playoff for a eventually -- something -- dramatic happens eventually. Playoff teams eliminated playoff teams are exposed. There exposed for what they don't have. Same thing happened in the first game seven yesterday. Rockets lakers the rockets were exposed because ultimately came down to it they had a game seven when they didn't have Yao Ming nor -- they have treated McGrady. There in game seven against Kobe Bryant and Paul Gasol they you don't have enough. The Celtics. Got to a game seven even though they're up three games to two they were not playing against the great team I don't think either team is great. As a matter of fact I don't think there really any great teams -- the playoffs out of the four teams left. A great team there. But some art some teams are better than others and and you know I don't love the Orlando Magic got a lot when I picked in the win the series. But there are little better and they -- little deeper than the Celtics.

I think the Celtics were a victim of a war of attrition and in an if you want to go back as far as where I think it goes back to. It goes back to February when Kevin Garnett got her and I know we talked about this in the month of martian even disagreed at times about this in the month of march. I think dock in an attempted and keep winning games which is which is supposed to do. When the Celtics won their nineteen game winning streak when they're playing their best. They are a set you down close the game defensive oriented type thing and they were never that in the policies they couldn't.

They they did they couldn't do it and and it would be the same in this regard if you took Dwight Howard out of the Orlando Magic beat bans -- that the -- That's what you took out of the Celtics beat that that guy who was the mistake eraser. You know it -- if Hedo Turkoglu you know debts by Paul Pierce well there's another guy standing behind him which might make like a little off.

I'm counting on a guy. Who we have called one of the top young point -- only -- Rhonda there's no doubt he is one of the top importantly but. And it's funny Aaron Ward was on here last week with John -- and he said you know sometimes game sevens they they have a tendency to get kind of ugly get out of hand. Because the team that's losing. The realization sets in at some point as -- com. Can a lot are all season's over here. And and you see it happen a lot in and ironically is a two game sevens yesterday where it was exactly what -- Mort talked about. Where the two teams who who ended up losing. Here Jerry I don't know whether you want to use quit -- give up I don't know which one you want to use it in that in the fourth quarter of their games they went you know what it's over. I'm not gonna be diving on the floor here it's over. And and date they gave everything -- had it wasn't enough. Ironically. In both the Bruins in the Celtics cases we were I was wrong. I was wrong about. Coming home and playing game seven at home in both cases I thought game game seven at home. The home crowd the home building was gonna put enough energy in the home team to get them over the top and I was dead wrong in both.

Well I don't know I'm having the Bruins play with energy. Not the entire game the Celtics did have from the jump I -- didn't have it at any point. And at one point it looked -- out there playing like this is the game this the last game of the west coast trip. And it's it's march. Board's February and it is trying to get home. And go to sleep. Let's get this triple did not feel like a game seven at any point. From the celtics' perspective about to give -- credit Orlando was up the -- that you know you're when you're perimeter shooting team. A lot of coaches don't like teams like that because you you're so dependent on. On an eighteen footer or in their case. A 23 footer. That when it goes. You got nothing else to fall back on except as I've said before about Orlando. I don't love this team but this is -- complicated. Because your usual finance. Jump shooting team and play -- difference if they jump shooting team -- locked you up to. And I don't know how they did it. JJ Redick must have. Some in the spirit of Alvin Robertson. Has been battling acts and Ray Allen has been battling why in -- they didn't say anything it'd make excuses. They went out -- gave you what they had. But they just didn't have as much as they normally.
