Is it fair to say Doc Rivers that you are saying one thing. And doing another regarding playing time for pierce and Allen you said after the Orlando lost I can't continue to do this down the stretch and yet last night both guys played over there average minutes in the game. Against Miami. -- what -- there were shut down you know I think the first it doesn't have a very with 46. We got about the forties and -- big get them down the -- Yates thought I was happy with -- minutes about well we did a pretty good double resting him more. The the last stand it you know two more bad it's that it ended up you know without going to demoted out of normal minutes. I would all of these guys are but it would just about to the birdies and about. I'm very -- so no less -- -- reported Bennett's. You know two minutes you're they're a very. Can you talk about the internal battle you have with yourself and and may be among the coaching staff. In terms of playing time for these guys and also touched on yesterday getting the guys healthy for the postseason is necessary and and work that in your estimation. Just that KG and Rondo aside the injury guys aside 222. Apply the whip to these thoroughbreds to get to the finish line in the hopes of getting home court advantage or doesn't matter as much as it did last year. Bottle but it mattered much on the a lot of people do I don't ever result. I would love to have -- -- -- the wrong that Burton Burton did agenda did it. But you know before admitted to the fallen -- played last mine that I'd like you to prepare medical minute less. And hopefully -- that we can still win today you know. But I believe which it -- -- Dave I don't care. Might. Then right now is might you know. And everyone else. Just try to did change as. Right on schedule to be ready for play -- And that's short period there was but I think we're gonna -- -- -- -- do okay. I'm guessing that's an -- thank you -- like last night you played pierce and and round forty minutes but you have to mean the game was in reach. Had a chance to win a game in -- in a tough fight with Cleveland and Orlando if it's out of reach the -- -- play as many minutes correct. -- but it will you do think about last night we. We took worry I'll start before -- would imagine it took six minutes. Left in the game I think it was 625 I don't know what it was. Obviously you with a brother element a couple of minutes earlier. Which just took a mean had started plated. You know we're try to keep it in the 38. Martin and art kind of Abreu and a couple minutes earlier which are right especially when against the volleyed and you missed the comeback. It's tough to pick a guy out -- therefore. What's more important trying to overtake Cleveland for the number one spot or trying to stay ahead of Orlando. In the two spot. Oh I don't know I would look ahead of Orlando because we don't Jets Cleveland. You know there are west so you know hopefully -- improbable couple days but we don't -- Jets Cleveland what I have home court in the second. You know if you can't. But you know most of it's still going to come down -- -- as far as how we're playing what -- it -- if we're healthy. If we're playing well -- we were to win anywhere and -- when it was. What makes you think you can win in Cleveland this year when they're better there almost unbeatable at home. Wendell last year you couldn't do it in the post season. What is it we're better do what I wrote vicious. And -- arms in the Rucker doesn't but you know last year. And and I don't even know the records of everyone else. A lot of been made about our record in the playoffs. I would say what everybody's record in the playoffs last year and -- that summit batted more. We started out poorly. We sinister the world the world we won our last two games of over the last two out of three. In Detroit where it and Elway and more women I thought that tortured a lot are are really do and I've been have a lot of top. It dot head you've completed the comeback last night would that have been in the top three or four. Of most satisfying wins and -- it's hard to comment on -- into didn't win the game but if you can project and work with me here -- -- won that game finished the comeback with that -- -- as satisfying. A win and who had this year based on the fact. When you look down -- sought let me -- two guys that -- here two weeks ago two guys who were here last year and I don't know somebody else I suppose. Yeah that would have been huge. You know I thought the beginning of the third guys. We try to let the game get away we have belief in. -- flat. And they ended up attrition. And when you're down employers in the fighting back is it really Paterno but if we don't want that Edmonds went. Is it is it difficult for you believe Stephon in their for a longer stretches than you normally might go or stretches that you would prefer to have him in their. If he's not shooting the basketball well and still doesn't know the offense I guess that's sort of a liability. On both -- for. Yeah you know -- -- you haven't been bad and they'll do it's funny lies and I'm looking at a live -- -- obviously. I didn't think it's what it all added that he played great. Foreign film but I certainly watched it with him on the plane last night. You played much better and I thought when it came up the first five little more importantly. When it came up the second time we're down to. Development in the first quarters first and the second half so there's still a lot of different. Special in the film. The director who dealt Downey was at today. And just so close shouldn't they. And just to fight through it and you know and appreciative -- by the Guillen. These insult you know what I am doing some good things that did the ball -- the guys in the right spot. You go to in this substitute corporate job. You know did a bit -- that are going to go it. What it what it is. Our conference past the government play as well. But it's all -- you know and shut that one floater. I didn't -- to -- and agencies that just wasted time in. I think that combination is -- what they -- When you are talking to himself on the plane do you ever ask him. Why he didn't just -- -- and get the deal done in New York conjoined you about a month earlier two months or three months earlier than he did. -- I don't I was out of but it didn't and and you know that the region do about that so well we're targeting. April. Orders Stephon Marbury coming out -- and we think by vintage Purdue. Hey almost call is it on Rondo and and big baby in and KG -- -- that you you're listening to train is -- little player but. You make the call ultimately it does the player. Tippett had very good player as long as those started -- our complicated. Because -- know what I have to -- different from red. -- An actual governments reacted surety or epic -- If he says not know it doesn't matter what the players. They did not -- But what he says that it's always best that it would have bet me that mean you can play it typified civilians sent courtyard of the Senate. And and you didn't there's no doubt about percent but he can't -- injury Eddie's record of what went -- -- I think it will bit less but more. Of those three big baby and and Rondo and KG if last night was a playoff game before game seven against Cleveland in the Eastern Conference finals. Would all three -- played. I don't think they didn't try to -- And I'm not sure. -- -- I think Rondo made it but it have been very very very. Adopt what is your personal definition of most valuable player in the second part of that question is who applies most of that that. Formula Kobe LeBron -- Well -- there's your definition. Who's playing the best in the most valuable player to their team. You know that the the -- -- look at it guys are deeply. You know. It's a tough call this year. LeBron James. Right now in the would be leading the pack. I just -- -- -- -- LeBron James than the check outs are the -- and did you consider would overtake so I didn't. One guy attitude that some very as a team to win for a little while if there -- it is the Lakers are withdrawn because they you have available sport you know. You know waited and waited buildup there are completely different vegetables -- it. You know who bought the market would be -- there yet so I don't know are it's a tough draw and ended definition. Most valuable player. Is a tough one I think that -- -- most valuable player almost self spared important. Build a two different things would be. What was your most valuable player. What are about to open. Our third alters most likely but I tickets can also mean -- -- Japanese. Tremendously right now and you know no one talked about -- or run to Ruben important to a basketball. Seen it seems like he's the hardest to replace I mean I know. KG is spectacular in the great defender and we don't we see with pollen -- do every night when -- -- some medicine is an odd duck. You know various. You know I I would like to do it didn't have a very I don't know who the board of employer enough so our agreement with. Ray Lewis mr. -- and their quarterback you know their quarterback Tom Brady or anybody. A little bit quarterback more and give registered to -- the better the tournament. -- -- basketball you luge or point guard. If it -- basketball. It -- focus in the conversation back on just Kobe LeBron and Dwyane Wade to parts here. Who gives the biggest headache to defend and who would you choose to join your club for next year are they won in the same person. Well I don't know. Way to is that is that go to Barry is to guard because -- the ball was -- and for a solo. Would they told this scares you the most get so. Steal but it probably the most you've of the group from the fire one shot. That I haven't made and I couldn't -- I think -- -- over Brighton. Over the other guys so I would do probably drove who -- -- brought -- -- physically. Up for our basketball has yet right now the votes should give -- an Olympic abroad because it is because. This power. That is passing ability. You know you lose a result. If you have Obama is doing. You can literally do LeBron has a point guard. Is Cleveland batter is LeBron better. Obviously we know Mo Williams is there -- Joe Smith is there but they a more formidable foe this year than last. They're ability that last year there's no doubt. You know. Delonte -- it and better with film. A Mo Williams is a perfect fit with. But also think last year remember -- made that trade -- never -- traded yeah. Vision it'd penetrating general that making a better -- And in in watching the game film with them Marbury on the plane last night what percentage do you think he grasps a ball the offense and the defense in which is harder to. To grasp. Well Altman is harder. Benefit more from mindset. And being they're more of both what you are stingy you have. -- shortly with both a little bit but he. He's been pretty good for a drug that. But -- that the point guard spot you know from Mikki Moore they would these. What Stephon Marbury is definitely office. Can you give us a sense of when you will be. Back to full strength to win let's -- Rondo and and and Garnett will be. To allow I would say. Where it Rondell Garnett. Maybe. Publicly or help him player in the player and I would -- met another two week. Two weeks -- is there a point where you gonna look. At the standings and say it's not worth that Indian do you you know how long will you push it to try and get that top spot. Forward -- person but. You know we just have to mature over brilliant all. Which is something where we did last night that doesn't mean there's going to be one game where. I won't go 42 minutes afforded tremendous but that is about it but I -- like go to Byrd side. You know. But we're going to keep pushing that the to let it best the -- we have to -- in. You're did better with other guys is that uses it to mean guys step in. In my opinion this atmosphere in this first in over silver lining in this that there is -- -- is there haven't celebrated course. Those stupid took all the injuries they're they're more playing time. Present situation as it was with not a -- in this quick. And you know they're they're they're so good in the. Duck excuse me if this is a stupid question but you know good for couple those -- Did it occur to you as the whistle -- blowing earlier in that game. The by the time this game played out you might not have enough bodies on the court what. Happens it's out of four guys not -- out -- right about. We I don't know of Clifford to make it up on the floor. But absolutely guys -- amazing I thought the day withdrawal extremely. Tight yeah. -- start the game and have all the games that we could afford an extremely tight date. It will last -- and of course we've got double the -- mindset. And at halftime -- just sort of doubt it would just to. But it addicted had a huge impact. For the game last -- on the -- we have the -- just yet so guys you know. Did epic involve -- -- it double but it's more of the joke about drop. When you look over the Miami bench do you feel old when you've -- your counterpart. Yeah and an uphill budget like a model you know about slick guy down there have been -- -- to the no that's that's right there's something wrong with. I was looking figured that that we've just got rejected in and why else would that guy beat coach in the yeah. -- government slick and I and I -- -- -- changeup before relevant up there are a value thereof. You always student killed their best player on the team with a good approach. Is is following and listening and there waiting that so that you that I heard that element. We're talking about Josh mcdaniels making the adjustment outing Denver. And and Lane Kiffin you know struggling in in Tennessee. And I made the point and I don't ultra facts are going to try to confirm with you -- but the X and -- portion of what you guys do for a living. Maybe going to -- use the word the easiest part but the most natural part. It's the other stuff it's it's it's it's understanding personalities it's keeping -- clubhouse together it's the beginning of the -- -- some guys let me ask you -- other guys in the -- is the hard part is that fair to say. Oh it that the only part of which is part of it actually know them very important. But I think we can all bet you know I think that's what we are all lots. But it's the people do and -- people to. NESN's Barry Pederson on the Bruins dominance

Cleveland Indians hottest team in baseball, yet remain last in attendance May 19, 2013 By AJ Kaufman 6 Comments There’s a scene in Major League where Bob Uecker, portraying the radio voice of the Indians, bemoans, “In case you haven’t noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven’t, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.” Well, that was nearly 25 years ago and fictional, but today’s reality is that Cleveland has won 17 of its last 21, and currently tops the AL Central with a mark of 25-17. No one in the majors is better than the Indians in the past month (20-7). That’s great news. The bad news, however, is the Tribe somehow remain in the MLB cellar when it comes to attendance. How can this be? The fact that I wrote on this same topic almost to the day last year – when only Tampa Bay drew fewer fans than Cleveland - may be even more troubling. Though roughly 34,000 watched a walk-off win Friday night against Seattle, perfect weather and free caps weren’t enough to draw more than 36,000 Saturday and Sunday combined. What did the Indians do in those tilts? They nabbed another walk-off win on Saturday, then the Indians crushed the great Felix Hernandez Sunday behind Justin Masterson, arguably the AL’s best pitcher right now. Fun fact: The Indians have already faced eight Cy Young Award winners in 2013: Bartolo Colon, R.A. Dickey, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Jake Peavy, David Price, Justin Verlander and Hernandez. They have won seven out those eight matchups. Simply astounding. This offseason, the much-maligned Indians front office finally made a legitimate attempt to improve the team through free agency. I’m not talking an Ubaldo Jimenez-like trade, but rather smart acquisitions that brought veterans Mike Aviles, Michael Bourn, Jason Giambi, Scott Kazmir, Brett Myers, Mark Reynolds, Drew Stubbs and Nick Swisher to Cleveland. In addition to being a fantastic place to watch a game due to great egress and ingress, with extremely affordable tickets, the best promo lineup anywhere, Jacobs Field boasts overall, cooler, less muggy summer weather than most Midwestern locales. The team also lowered beer and hot dog prices to $4 and $3 respectively. What other professional stadium in any sport offers that? I have visited 28 of the 30 current Major League Baseball stadia, and few top The Jake when all angles are considered. I say that as a baseball fan, not an Indians fan. As for the putative “economic” angle, these are the same people who spend insane amounts of money to watch terrible football every fall and show up in decent numbers for putrid basketball in the winter. Irrespective of season length, those sports charge up to 10 times the price for a ticket, and the atmosphere isn’t half as fan-friendly as baseball. I understand fans’ lack of willingness to get on board to some degree. A decent recap of Cleveland’s decade of “rebuilding” can be read here and the team suffered a horrific collapse last August. However, in addition to all the benefits of attending games at Jacobs (now Progressive) Field, fans should also realize the team has potential and often exceeds preseason aspirations at any point without warning. Cleveland hosts the rival Detroit Tigers — heavy favorites to repeat as AL Central champs — Tuesday and Wednesday nights before hitting the road. The temperature should be pleasant at first pitch each evening so you’d expect The Jake to be full to watch the best hitter on the planet right now — but don’t count on it.
