My my friend the world traveler spends weekend before this past one in Phoenix. And then -- tease us with. Another weekend --

Another weekend John and don't let. If you are a member I want to say this is my little violent or disclaimer here. Is that Japan has no time now lineup. I had my disclaimer. If you -- he he member. Or on management. Whether you're listening in -- And you know. Because I don't need to know. That your employees are doing things like this it's not a bad thing but okay ratings retarded and others not they'll. You know fail I get tired of feeling help. You know it's a tough economy and all businesses. Are struggling and -- travel budgets. Have been cut. You know we have to go to spring training and in the budget that we have to go somewhere else but. If you want it goes somewhere not helpless. Want to go to an event. Trying to put some fun together and do it yourself this is what management here -- and yeah that.

So you know what I did. You do your fellow hosts here as a reference right.

who. -- love love love love love love the company line. A football. This time a year. I went to the -- I went to I was in beautiful Indianapolis which was an out so Peter King wrote about it you're absolutely right. It's not a whole lot it was that they would just so cold it was it was cold but it didn't matter. I got there it was a -- football peoples around players and coaches and I don't bill and some interesting stuff happening there this is an important offseason for the Patriots and that's when it do. Get the pulse of what was happens. A lot of the local reporters there one of the local reporters had a great week in -- nice little scoop it. John Wallach reference this morning actually Samantha young in Providence journal. At the scoop on Fred Taylor yeah visiting Buffalo. And possibly visiting new wing and ability is pressed and yet yet -- talk about what O'Neal and our department that. It doubly for a few free agent and I'll say this about Fred Taylor. If he comes here. I don't know we -- room one Patriots Monday Patriots Friday that's one of our guys is -- umpire. -- talker I had dibs on Fred Taylor right now he's unbelievable he albeit go to guy. For all not not know. He'll be go to guy. For all of the beat writers out there -- just very down to earth very thoughtful guy. And that told you before for even knew the Patriots had interest in them. I watched them last -- yeah.

He not only last year but the minute they released the news said the Patriots -- look at this guy.

That would Jack Watson last year and no we didn't have a great season for Jacksonville. He didn't look like a guy who was watched who was washed up he still looked like he had some life and his legs. But he was playing behind a decimated. Offensive line in Jacksonville. And and I believe they're going the other way now Jackson's -- they. Is they they really need they need to start over here and and Fred Taylor. Would follow tradition of Antowain Smith and Corey Dillon veteran guys come in here. It really revive their careers. From the running back spot now there's there's tough competition form because he has a great deal of respect for Dick Jauron Dick Jauron. Was there -- Tom Coughlin worked with -- before Jacksonville up. And players love -- they just say he is a he's a player's coach he understands. You know what guys -- what what guys are going through replay the game himself so there's a soft spot. Four for Dick Jauron and Fred Taylor's heart but when you look at.

Boyd and Fred Taylor though and you wonder how many how many more kicks -- and you. You know where you have a better chance. Maybe capping things with a ring in Buffalo or New England to me it's not even a question if if that's if editors in your thought process. What you think that you have a big advantage here. And obviously loves Dick Jauron well.

You're right and and I think. It will be a little bit of a -- mean as we speak -- that is tomorrow he's going to look at the bills facilities. Today. He's meeting with Iran having dinner with them and I think he QB in New England Tuesday or Wednesday. So as the process policemen of the young great get there for her out of things. Well before -- forget the the other things from the -- house that is to your point about. The Patriots in the Super Bowl on the in the tradition it's not just the players. It's coaches to coach. It's like.

Guys. If if you're if you're an assistant coach and Bill Belichick -- Flattering -- get a chance to work with. Maybe the best coach of his generation. And maybe the best quarterback is Joe and cash -- you gonna get a chance to see the you get a chance to go behind the veil of the great Patriot dynasty or or or what was -- dynasty if you're Steelers fan you don't believe there's a dynasty there and importantly dynasties. It's headed two western Pennsylvania but. For coaches it's a great opportunity. And for players it's a great opportunity. On offense and on the -- to work with some pretty special guys here about them. Some things -- this weekend a guy's a guy whose name came up a lot with Matt -- So. There's one rumor heard. That I think it is totally. Totally ridiculous and will not happen but. After -- out here for. Matt Cassel. Carolina. While for Julius Peppers.

I hadn't heard Carolina's. And heard the name of that team come up. You know we've talked about potential landing spots we've talked about Kansas City because of Scott pioli Detroit for obvious reason San Francisco Minnesota. I don't think I've ever -- Carolina come up at all.

And I don't think it will happen Julius Peppers come into New England he would have to play linebacker. He's 29 years old he hasn't played linebacker in the 34 and his life he hasn't played in bill Belichick's 34 he's a rush guy. Bill ballots that it doesn't just stand guys all the time for the linebacker position and -- he got to stop the run a little bit too. So I don't see that being a good fit it was an interesting rumor but -- no question but I was taken now and I don't see that happening but here's one. Kansas City came up a lot.

Yeah a lot it's that what makes the most sense for our for several reasons. You know they've got the capital to span I mean does the draft capital. They've got a guy there who knows you know every snap Matt castles overtaken in. And knows his guys drafted him who who you know bought enough of him to draft him despite fact that he never played in college either. I mean it does make a lot of sense in that regard. Kansas City came up. From what I've ever heard Detroit is not interest. So. It clear and I cannot excitement Daunte Culpepper is their guy I mean I can't figure out but it should be and a lot. They Culpepper but and you know what they are Detroit for a reason and and keep doing what --

But they want to hold onto those picks another and attitudes and Matt Cassel -- the deal with Kansas City supposedly would be. Cassell. To the -- Four. To second rounder. One this year. And one next.

I'd I don't Ottawa's aggressive for everybody got to have a first round out the quarterback and someone to think about you know. If I'm bill ballot check and I know that they have always been willing to put off their return for the future. Yeah I wonder if the if the the glimpse into the mortality of Tom Brady. Makes them a little more anxious that you know help in this team this year as much as they don't have a problem the second round pick this year. What I what I'm wondering about as with a they're willing to put off that the other part of their compensation. For a year from I don't know. They didn't get enough help this year for the trade a guy like.

Absolutely I tell you why if they make history. Gives them 32 round picks up. Yes in the third pick in the second round it is in the fifteenth pick in the second round to get the Eagles -- natural. So now. If if you believe the experts and they were all around and agents brawl swarming around you know my guys going to run a 45 tomorrow. Look out for this guy they pay attention -- him -- it to him but if you believe all the experts. This is a deep draft for linebackers. Inside and outside linebackers. Erratically. You can spend your first round pick if you went to -- that's right what has been architects. You defender you've spent your first topic a corner you get bigger corner at twenty for a starter. You kid go at that would the second with your first second round pick after he's. You can draft a linebacker inside linebacker outside linebacker and then draft the other linebacker right but if you want it to do that. With that second second round pick a second I have -- second rounder. That you -- in the bank for next year. That you could move up you can do all sorts of things with it so. I think it is adequate compensation given what they -- him --

Well and I mean two -- is something we've even discussed as as compensation for a guy like Cassel. I I guess I've I've I've found myself wondering you know let's let's do so for now let's you know let's get some help for now well -- all.

I have to deal with the team has. Not only you know adequate compensation to give you but good cap space that you have to be -- good situation. Matt Cassel was going to wind up. -- his contract. Roughly will be between 65. And eighty million dollars. When a man I'm not talk about the franchise that went on I'm going to another team sixty Friday 8080 million dollars with a court five something import fourteen million dollars. -- So you've got to be you know really get cap situation. And got a new quarterback. The goal after Matt Cassel and teams that fit that description. Are. Tampa. I'm not a lot of teams and -- all that money just like a stack of money there. And and -- and are in need of quarterback.

If you're if the approach self and bill Belichick's shoes okay. If pioli offers you the second this year in the second next year he attempted Diego.

Yes yes attempted attempted if if Tom Brady -- Because Tom Brady's healthy you you who. You'd just it doesn't serve you to have a back up there. Make a fourteen point six -- out now if Tom Brady has issues then he's not going anywhere.

And I don't think that's the case by the way I and I think they know that's not the case. I I've heard some discussion among other hosts on the station about you know you wait you know trade him now you trade him later. If he's going to be traded at all it's gotta be before the draft -- asked of me because if you're the team getting Matt Cassel. You need him in there now I mean now would be good a month from now is almost too -- unity if he's going to be you're starting quarterback this year. You you can't be wait until July or August or September to bring Matt Cassel.

You know what -- some interesting questions here with -- go back and forth on one hand. Here's a guy have been playing college has a one year of experience. What makes Matt Cassel any different than Derek Anderson and Cleveland -- Pro Bowl year. In 2007. And was -- may want to get hurt. I missed in the final whatever way 678 games. So he could be a one hit wonder on the other hand. If you look at -- quarterback you one of these teams. At the top of the draft whether it's Detroit -- Kansas City you ask yourself. Who's better among Matthew Stafford. Matt Cassel and Mark Sanchez.

Well. You're really really sold you think marks and it can be a star. Gerald you -- what was to be here. But if you is really make it this guy's going to be great he will be there I know it. And and I have three years to wait on I had that security while. If you're that convinced you take of but there are a lot of coaches in the league. Probably five. Consider here in the -- in the ninth. I know lobby here in three years I want to not now Mike Shanahan was one of those coaches laughter. A ball -- spotlight operator in three years and it would happen hand the guy here can Bill Belichick wanted to go to I -- Andy Reid was one of those guys. -- all I don't think so now Jeff Fisher could be. Mike Tomlin just won a Super Bowl and they don't need a quarterback Wednesday but Mike Tomlin does one I guess. He could say I know hobby and an average -- coach Eric accidental they don't have. If you finger there. So it'd be interesting for it to see what happens with -- but if Brady is healthy I'm convinced. Matt Cassel is gone in sooner rather than.

You know it just it it just further indicates for folks the difference between us. You go to Indianapolis to watch the combine I go to Fairfield Connecticut to watch women's hockey. Sacred heart University of Rhode Island and there's the differently -- priorities in order for -- I mean I'd I think at a at a good time on Indianapolis watching football players we view to that you would have -- Indianapolis it reminds me -- somewhere very much like that they didn't have one really good restaurants. The got a couple with one talk about on animals are at saint -- I love saint elmo's. That was always place we'd go before the night before that some nice chain restaurants -- lots of the night. -- answered Gillian and -- you appear changed Morton's no less than 617779850.
