D&C Opening Segment 1-6-09

While these final chapter or should -- chapters of this Boston College soap opera have yet to play out. And probably will start to do so late this morning when jags Hinske takes his interview. Shaking his hand and lying through your -- to that particular man that's and this whole.

I'd just ignition an explosion at the heights as well no -- you and the one you offered to slap you because you knew you had it right and I can't I can't -- anyway anyway. -- there's no question. His is my question people like. Like Bob Ryan who wants to look at it from -- Gusinsky's. You can. What would you do what would you do if you hired to scout you took a chance when on the limb hired this guy yeah. He promised that he was your guy -- you you knew it was going to be lifer right but you're expected a real commitment to our commitment it's all in longer than two years. Feel betrayed and that's what people -- did I applaud him I would do the same thing. I -- the -- patient disease that I'd say what I'd plucked two out of nowhere it. Most athletic directors -- by having this conversation all the time you know why we couldn't be a general manager for a particular team well for a million reasons we don't have the the the sports acumen to be able to evaluate talent all those sort of things but we couldn't swallow. Thereby pledging fidelity the BC you're automatically a moderate. What to question mark Jack is Hinske. Had just come from eight years with the big boys did -- painfully ball really think coach jags had gotten the NFL out of his system. Most coaches believe that when that time comes to leave is simply acting aggressor you shoot first and you ask questions that.

That's that's flawed so many ways it's not the time to leave the Jets going to hire him at least not as head coach so this is not. A guy who has I mean even cystic. That bomb. Auburn is it once in lifetime opportunity for him healthy stated that statement the report if I would. Probably be -- way we live we -- everybody you know you know you're too he had his chance he knew who defeated strike that was. He was going to be outside on the outside looking in the jags -- proved that he can coach hee young viable and in. It will be other opportunities and he's comin' back with they pretty good team correct me. -- While it's hot and an an and that's not the case hell what my next question what's he going to do. He's going to be an assistant at some NFL -- it as if it retirement -- hired as an assistant with that the guy who ends up being the head coach -- I'm -- he's got plenty connections with the Packers that with the Falcons he knows a lot of coaching tree and he'll get a job he'll make less money next year coats and as the assist in the NFL he does now BC. And I I don't know what the meet Russia right one of the recruit in the -- my mindset. But he's going to. Those five kids and his wife and -- are -- back to green bag and -- Atlanta. New York who knows the Seattle. A couple minutes they're not mean it's rare for a guy. Makes that commitment for five years. And and and tells everybody not just the coach well I mean not just Ph.D. by way but the all the recruits and all the players. And all the assistants all everybody that he told Newsday. And two years later he's. Fullerton with the Jets hoping to get the Jets job to the point where. Deeply posts that you go to that interview you know you can just forget about this job I'm going anywhere yeah I mean in and other sports I quit I'm gone I'm -- it.

I hate to sound corny but what that one about integrity of honesty is that irrelevant what a -- Took the job and a week later called budget yeah or monthly OK to start rebellious right at the at some point. You have to hold a guide to his word. And I know the jags his game again want to go back the NFL someday. But two years is not and hopefully and -- and again one years enough right so so years.
