A good all right doing all right about time off. Refresh the body in the mine now back to work tomorrow. How long does it take you in general to you get past that game win or loss of me mentally. To stop run it through -- I think. If you got something to go back to another another opponent may be too to focus on it it's pretty quick with. After -- Thursday night loss in the and you have you have little bit of time off you try to think about it built a little bit longer than usual so. I mean. Over the weekend you think about it that's little bit longer than just Tuesday off then back -- Wednesday. So you know it's Palestinians investigated now on -- watching film on Miami again and and get ready for another opponent.

And can you well enough to know you're not real big on moral victories. Yeah a win -- to win in moral victories don't don't count the scorecard. Right maybe. Maybe earlier in my career the first few years in the first second third year a's if you're still trying to get better as a player or something like that with deaths.

I mean now. Pretty much a lot of the guys on the team pretty much a lot of most of the veterans on the team justice really have one goal of mine I mean we're not. We're not thinking about any type of individual accolades or anything like that we just wanna we want to win football games and you know win championships.

I was going to go back to the whole idea because -- I heard some your comments after the game. Okay you weren't real pleased with what happened here is as anybody would be. And you didn't want to hear about how good the comeback was very inning like that you wanted to know did we win or lose.

Yeah and they want to amid I think they wanted to make some positives about the game the media in the locker room after after the game talking about. You know the fight we showed or you know the play of Matt Cassel the play and the ethic I thought I told my thought -- had a great game also. They wanted to focus on that but I you know I said you know if you even if you -- matter if you restaurant themselves as as. As players and individuals okay I had a good game sure but that's not really their goal also. And then they want to make improvements and -- and showed give it one faith that they can they can play football with them linebacker quarterback whatever position -- may be but. I think we have a good. Good presence inside the locker room how we're all on the same page and even though you have the we do have. A pretty big a number of of younger players in the locker room now I think there are focused on one goal and that's when the football games also.

I do want to ask you about to rod and in some of the younger linebackers. I'm sure they learn a lot from from you premiere of wisdom in your experience in the NFL. You learn anything from them and hit it even if it's the the form of the question that. You never really heard anybody freeze it that way because they're so inexperience and ask their questions -- haven't -- is there anything. Owens -- learning I would say learning like them teaching me techniques or anything like that but. I sort of a -- example being on the field during the game -- during practice I'll I'll talk to Jerod how I still need him to I still need him to communicate back to me by. We want we we we want -- communication out there especially at the inside linebacker level the point where. Even a couple of weeks ago my cage right now on he Judah. -- You really would not.

What he had to say sure there isn't there. -- some players and here are some backers in the past where it's no idea you know the communication should just be one way. I thought that there yeah. And then their fate and sometimes if they want to communicate back you just shake your head and just sort of waved that off because you know that sort of that's sort of not the correct thing to do it as long as you've got them on the same page so no that that can't get that can't happen but that to -- the guys that I think. I think he's. He sort of you know as a whole package he's he's gotten intelligence -- that's early in the year I talked about his attitude now now talking about -- and his intelligence because I think -- physical attributes are obvious but I mean for him also give me -- to -- some feedback and communication helps me out on the field --

Going game specific with communication the issue on the third and fifteen conversion in overtime where. It sounded like bill was trying to get some guys to back away from the line of scrimmage. But maybe guys away from him on the other sideline we're hearing -- was saying without part of the problem.

I thought our communication could have been better on that play yes so. Possibly not on everyone not on the same page at the same time you saw bill -- out there trying to get communicated what he wanted to do. Some guys -- forty yards away you know some guys -- right there next to him so and also we're trying to get the defense calls so. If there was if there was one player in the game you can point to I think if he would be that they're fifteen dale -- like you're talking about time and we do a great job on on first down I think Pierre I think Pierre got a sack and then. No he you stop them on second down you come into a third and fifteen. He given a punt that ball and they're deepen their territory in offense is going to have good field position. And third and fifteen is is highly advantageous to the defense in terms of percentage is so to see it -- to see it sort of made just like that sort of sort of easily not not throw that wasn't really contested as something that's very disappointing.

Thursday and I it was also Troy Brown night. Is that tough for you guys as players I mean because I would think Troy Brown that is more for the fans -- game you can't really. Go out there at halftime and acknowledged Torre the way you would want to when he got to second -- to play in right.

Not know it it's it's not really possible because. You've just got to a bunch of adjustments that have just been told you in your head in and you weren't about going out there and loosen them up and -- get your blood flowing again get ready to put the second half and that. And also with us we sort of had sort of had our our Troy bound Troy Brown day when he came in spoke to us when before he addressed the media about his retirement. He had a sort of a private meeting with us that he spoke to spoke to the team and a lot of guys got to express a lot of things with him so I think that I was about his. His opportunity to give appreciation to the fans in the stadium and the fans knowingly.

He he talked about only having one Jersey hanging in his closet yeah you're in the same situation when Jersey hanging in your closet the Patriots Jersey. And on the other side there's a guy you played with -- who played on Thursday Ty Law. Who not only has a couple of Jersey is in his closet but what album is great and -- for the Jets can you ever imagine. Not only leaving the Patriot but playing for the Dolphins are playing for the Jets and it just seems. Like. It's it's it's unimaginable actually.

I came in McKinney and I don't. I don't see it I don't see it happening you know it's. I think I've I've worked hard and made decisions along my entire career to that. To make a concerted effort to stay here and so. I mean me being in my thirteenth year now haven't ago. Play Weiner another year's somewhere else though though about to wear another uniform would be very very strange for me especially if it's green and white.

Yeah. -- I'm always curious how halftime adjustments think it is because defensively you guys looked so much better. In the second half they need in the first -- that it did come up with a long drive. Ultimately win in overtime but but for the most part the defensive -- thought which was much better. What was different what changed what did you guys do differently at halftime that you brought out on the field.

I think I think this is halftime was was about disorder reaffirm reaffirming everything that we were doing that. That the run game they were doing sort of what we expected. And so you really at halftime was like we know what they're doing this what we expected them to do so now we just have a problem play play ourselves better play better execute what we're we're trying to accomplish -- a little bit better. The first half I think they were doing a good job of possibly. Winning on first and second down and a and a win by meaning. You gain three years you know four or five yards on first down and all of a sudden the second five. He gained about two more on on second down -- 33 and 33 is is a situation where the offense really can just. Do anything in the playbook they can put in the short yardage package to run in the can spread out and possibly just sort over the or check down to get three yards so -- to get him in in third and long situations in and religious but the more pressure on them. -- in the second half with something we wanted to do and I think getting those those few. Few three and outs to start the game I think we did a good job of that in the in the second half and I think it was just us finish and finish in you know what we have planned all -- to do.

Brett Favre is a little chatty than most quarterbacks anyway at least as I watch it seems like he talks more -- guys on the other team but he seems that. Chat more with veteran guys. I'm watching -- and and yet I had a feeling I could see him talk and you'd while the play's going on where may be some kitty wouldn't he wouldn't necessarily talked to Jerod Mayo but I could see him talking you wallets dorm.

The -- and yeah I think yeah. You -- see a guy for so long union and you feel like you know each other and you know he's been in this league forever and when you when yet you constantly put it not only when you constantly play against people maybe if -- in this in the same division as -- You constantly sort of viewing their career as it plays out you know on on TV aura. Or through the through the media or something like that and and that and that and -- various challenges he has or anyone has in their in their career you know used as a as a professional you still you still view you you your your fellow professionals and sort of how their career has gone Ansonia. You know just seen him for so long and then probably him just being around for so long seeing us play for so long and this is success that we had so it's sort of like have you.

Who respect they'll ask you earlier about halftime adjustments. When it comes to halftime. Aren't they adjustments for the most part more like a review because I seen. The coaches. Adjusting after the first series after the second series third series they don't necessarily wait until halftime. -- to say we need to start doing this. Yeah they're they're at times or what we will make sideline adjustments a minute halftime the justice their sideline adjustments and and in between series there also also adjustments so that's so everybody like there's a place on the bench for the linebackers as a place on the bench for the defensive line and defensive backs and our our corresponding coaches always come up to listen in sort of go over that the previous series that we went through. And I think the first thing that that our coaches we do have time as they huddle up you know as players you know you go in the area. He'd take your your business would have we have to do that you sort of congregate or by -- by by the -- sport and then your coaches you see them meet -- in -- in a teaser or Matt Patricia or dom capers and I were talking amongst each other. You sort of -- and so and then all of a sudden you know -- c'mon present at the but the -- that he has he has for a us and that sort of that's their locker room procedure how it goes in at halftime.

As a as a captain and leader on this team. How do you ensure that that no feeling seats in that locker room along the lines of what a band gets which is. How many more of these injuries can we overcome and other guys down all -- there's a Bayless down there so and so. How do you prevent that from seeping into -- room.

Well I think you just he just focus on. On who's playing now in the you can't really. We've we've never been a team to dwell on the past and sort of two of -- on the pastor of of whichever we've won -- loss and also what players we've we've lost or gained. -- And I think that. They sort of show you that they're ready. You know and practices and I was going to face do you have faith in them yet did you say it but do you feel right do you still want them to show you you know I mean. I mean Pierre is done most of most of his work on special teams and I think -- he had a good pre season also but -- we know what's in him but he knows he knows himself -- he'll be the first to tell you that he's got to be the one that's also sort of trying to fill various issues.

And on the on the other side and -- you got your own job to worry about your own group. To worry about. But I have a -- the quarterback is proven that he belongs and he can play not that you asked him do it or -- it was spoken. But I'm sure there are some guys who wanted to see. From from Matt Cassel.

Yet even though you go up to match you tell them hey man we're behind Georgia. No go out there and just you know do which you do it and does do the best you can you you want to give him you want to give -- little boost that you know you have faith in them but still. He still has to get the job done and I mean that's sort of -- that's on his shoulders to terms of his preparation in and how he how he gets ready to play of the game in and then you know as a defense you you watch. -- watch and see how the kids doing out there and so. I mean I think that. There have been weeks over weeks that you know you watch this kid on third down and he's he's find that in -- to Welker for conversion or something like that and that does that does build the -- that we're talking about -- about okay this this guy is getting better and and that we can't win win with him but to get that faith -- a player has to go out there and show it and I think. We all we all know that we have good football players and we have in our minds that they are good and they can't show it it's just when they will -- it.

And there are a lot of guys we we were saying this on -- Friday. And I a lot of quarterbacks in the NFL. Who could -- who could do what he did that final drive a minute to play no time outs. And in that sixteen yard pass me rolling right and fires perfect pass to Randy Moss for a touchdown I mean throwing on the run I mean -- on the run also something that. I mean his athletic ability shown I think he ran for fifty to sixty yards it's. I hope New England having fun watching him play because it's it's different it's different than having Tom back there you've you've got to hit. He got Marvin.

I. Don't you think we've seen that's a good game day of dread that. What they've got to break your etiquette and the guy's strong he's fast he takes off yet it sixty yards for a touchdown couple weeks ago I mean he's. He's he's shown things that that fires that defensively -- we got man to man coverage and in -- on on the defensive backs to Ian. And sometimes just take off your first numbers are as you know sometimes you tax your right now.

Yeah that's well Carlyle that we can read -- would expect that can't believe you've ripped me this is this is one of those stupid things that we always say at this point in the season but. If the playoffs did start this week you guys to be on the outside looking in. I say that it's a prelude to the fact that for the first time a long time. There's a week twelve football came it's almost must win three.

Well I think everyone to a man -- locker room or look at any game as a must win because we sort of look at a ball like that and then look at look at a -- opportunities to win and so. I mean we've. Some of the young guys maybe not but a lot of the veteran guys we've been in races before we've been division races before we we've really -- in those. Those hats and T -- she -- if you win the division in and right now it's. And right now I think we have just get his chance as anybody -- we just have to worry about winning games you know get back to win one football game -- I mean guys are excited to come here we had little bit time off this week and we're excited to come in here tomorrow and give back to work and no it's a challenge and I think that. Who we are -- locker room as the you know we respond to challenges and you know especially after the game went last last. The last time we played Miami I think we're all looking forward to going down there and -- not a good performance little extra work for the defensive side this week on the wildcat offense yet I think -- I'm sure. I'm sure the obese a cut up tapers a clip clips that we can we can watch it and see how. They were they had success against us and how we probably make some changes and adjustments just see if we can stop. And they'll probably change some things that yeah yet it'll be. I think this will be one of those sideline just a game channel Q this is what we saw on the first series okay here's a new formation and now they they ran a reverse out of this or something like that so. -- here's some adjust as we want to make it here's how we want to play that so. I think I think all around him in terms of coaches and players this is going to be a game that's that's and we're really going to have to be in our toes to win. Good luck this week thanks to see it and so -- brisket joining us here on Sports Radio WE yeah.
