Yeah I know I I think that that's exactly that case. I don't think they're going to be an on and sabathia that communications. I've gotten. I I think they're the expectation areas that. He either goes to Southern California which has been. His stated preference at least privately board you know the Yankees are going to make some absurd bitten in the Red Sox -- going to get in that --

Yeah I had I mean I think that's pretty fair and in you know. To print playoff tickets I can't say I really believed it at that time but. You know I think -- back to back collapses. But Beckett in Leicester. Have been historian of this series in and I don't think you can pin it on Josh we all know that that he's there's something wrong there. In that in the end Lester you know he. The race -- how many times have we heard the Red Sox say eight in October once -- in the tournament it's not necessarily about who the best team this but. Yeah they're they're either losing to a better team clearly but in your mind over four games is there anything the Red Sox could have done differently that -- A -- and they may be at -- at 22 -- maybe give them a chance as clearly that just getting. Getting smoked here. And that Francona -- done to make the third term to maybe change the fortunes of the of his team in these first four games.

Well I you know I know Jerry there was so much discussion about him riding Beckett that as long as he did in. Can you look at the way that that that bullpen has performed in you know you can understand why he tried to get. Another inning out of out of Beckett -- I really don't you know I mean. Dropping Ellsbury sort of from the from the top of the order that wasn't going to make a difference guys. You know Johnny left side I think everyone here including myself assumed. That game three was going to swing things back. In the Red Sox favorite in. You know Francona. How -- those first three innings was out of -- caught his control so -- I don't I don't see how they can pin this when I teed up.

What happens if they with Daisuke was tomorrow does Beckett take the mound in game six and if he does. Why don't we expected to be any different and and don't you think there's some physical problem that. That is affected his philosophy velocity isn't going to be the same story in game six is it wasn't game to.

If that they're in the question to ask if such areas what it what are what are their IPO which you rather run out Paul Byrd in game six. You know they Ellsbury doesn't seem to be that guy is going to give him the spark after having such a great series against in time. You know they have been there before and I guess that's the thing they're going to cling to but. They look like an -- beaten team right now.

Gordon needs in your estimation. Based on how poorly the Red Sox have pitched and how well the rays have pitched. Would many -- made a difference in this series in this lineup. I mean a difference of up to win some games here.

Me giving me these October track record it's kind of hi hey you know be a little bit depth foolish of me. Just sit here and they are not now many would have made a difference at all. I mean obviously. Ortiz is comfort level might have been different. To be sure you know he's obviously. Trying to do too much at this point. So we I mean sure of any could have made Bennett -- committee might take -- we -- out of out to -- performance in game two. Was this series changer. That he went three in the third much like -- fault. And you know -- you know stayed out there for fifty pitches three plus innings whatever wise. You know that's win and when the Red Sox had to get if they could have gotten their second win -- they -- certainly the position to and had opportunities to. And we -- shut him down. They have -- won on the game but. Would they would that mean the race wouldn't be leading the series that at this point -- maybe that's not fair to say either.

The it's Joel Sherman's reporting that the Boris is going to ask for a six year deal for the 36 year old Manny. You hear different reports TJ -- is reporting that Manny is now. Helping the blind to see out in LA so he really has. Brought a lot of the table we see it every night in LA. Where's the end up and how much is again.

Yeah I mean -- I don't think he -- yeah I don't think you know. No I'm not find any simply because he gets said at one point I don't have the money to do it. You know -- everyone knows that the Dodgers are big market team with with. With the resources to make that kinda deal. You think about the eighteen million that's still -- and Andruw Jones next year's the -- going to have to swallow a lot of little bit. But no they came -- they can afford him in the end and that won't stop him. From being in the -- there.

Now are you kidding I mean it and that's states now knotted -- I mean net to. -- Francona signaled his intentions one before he actually did it by adding a third catcher. To the postseason roster I mean that's why you do something like that. To put yourself in a position if you gotta win the game Jason understand I'm sure it hurt but both Belichick and SI understand. That that was a move that had to be made it.

Scored would you be surprised if sometime early to mid November we found out a lot more about David Ortiz wrist injury but maybe it's a lot worse than he let on the and they were telling us surgery might be required and that's part of what we're seeing happening here.

If if we ruling out CC sabathia and Manny Ramirez and probably Mark Teixeira. Give us a free agent that will get a phone call from the oh that will be on the Red Sox radar in the winter.

Well I I would think that there will be some conversations with Burnett. In Toronto. I would think that they'll still be looking around for a short stops. You know off the -- my head -- I can't think you know who's going to be out -- This year as shortstop wise but that I would think those those you know -- another pitcher. In that in and that they did a shortstop Bert are certainly positions that that the Red Sox --

A lot of -- is not the answer -- that they just feel compelled to change short stops every year.
