Well I think we've improved this year plan and I do feel excited. We had young guys -- at a pace to the playoffs last year and that was great learning experience for the men. -- that a few times the feeling and they got after game six want them remember and they have the only man that -- and remembers so. Regulation. Get some experience from from that playoff series and and hopefully we can take it to the next level this year -- we want to continue to improve we have. We have some -- young talent that should be better this year.

I think all eyes are obviously going to be on Patrice Bergeron and and I'm wondering how you guys feel how confident you feel. That it not only he's beyond the physical aspect of it but from an emotional standpoint he grew up here and and play this game night in and night out.

But he played three or apartment six exhibition games -- and you didn't fairly commanding he you played beat the waited. We we expect him to play in in the middle of the long term absentees you know kept their coaching and I don't think he's got any reservations whatsoever -- expect and that you're that you as -- he's he's got such a talent than. It's shown anything to us that indicate that you know he's a little nervous but there.

It almost seemed as if he was facing a situation where you wondered whether he was going to come back and play at least from the distance maybe you guys felt differently. Was that a matter of that. He had to come to grips with what he had and because of the sport -- you constantly get -- you play you'll understand it. Media -- Over that hump because as the season progressed on and he got better and better you could just see it the way he was talking press conferences the first press conference. It was frightening and then later on in the season you could just get different guys.

Well -- Guerrier in the league you you have a better understanding knows what you're scared to play can travel one and how to carry yourself than. You know bill is that such great beaten and he he really really utilize that speed create a lot of good score an opportunity not only for himself but. First line needs right now I'd looks like he's playing with Bergeron and Sturm was. That -- lukewarm. And so also we really expect bill I think he's. He's grown a lot of overlap a couple of months. He's put a cup he's put some weight on is also there are great learning experience and play out last year. So we expect good good things Phil and as far as you on those. -- he's set to play his game which is he's physical as soon as -- and then he's got good hands but you know we certainly don't want but any -- pressure on him that he's got a they're reducing their trying to think that maybe that -- his court date is yet I mean pulled him in the past that is game little ball because of the way he plays when he's going to get some time and space so they're because of physical abuse. But you know first and foremost needn't be that player that he was last year the detonator in.

How important actually wasn't for Phil Kessel -- last year that it wasn't healthy scratch and some some key games there down the stretch and he seemed to really turn it on and accord -- when every did certainly seemed to light a fire under fire under -- bought and hopefully double continuing to this season because he was outstanding by the playoffs the last three games.

Well he really wasn't there -- there was an eye opener for so there's really understand it was in the you don't compete the way. You know you have to compete especially in the playoffs and are going to play regardless of what kind of spilled -- you have. -- got to compete night in and night out you get a load -- battle for the puck and you gotta do all the little things that that help your team win and it still really realized that I think that now people a hard look at. You know how he had to had to how we had to compete shift in shift out then you know. -- I think it may make him a better hockey player Pete you're right I mean he's somebody that you know we need to contribute our club -- you'd better. Well you know you're Europe -- gathered here you're paired with that skill. There's just some other part of the game that he needs to work. I think you realize that.

Can we talk to you last year when you took over this job and you had. Certain goals that you wanted to achieve certain things that you wanted to be able to influence and yet there was. Hierarchy that was already there in place and I wonder looking at it right now do you feel comfortable. Are you having enough influence the having enough saying. You feel good about about the job and your future here in this position with the Browns.
