It aren't that it happens and yesterday you know Leinart or -- about Matt Cassel you can put up points and all the other stuff but that the first come along Tom Morris saw the New England defense. Just basically did manhandled pushed around everybody from the nose tackle to missed tackles in the secondary. And -- and I can't imagine you know are -- leave. -- and Arkansas type offense and implement the University of Arkansas we direct snap it to your best that would let him play football with a actually had the effect that it did. Forced to -- the amount of Iannetta had you know I mean you figure to be some adjustment or some -- awareness of what was happening there and that's the -- who has the most shocking part of yesterday's game.

There's no word to describe it would be embarrassing. And then of course when you take a look at the offense they're settling for ovals as opposed to touchdowns. You know it it adds up to what you would call -- a food -- the --

expert boomer can you explain to us what was so tricky about it is snapped but the Ruddy brown. For the most body runs right off tackle while I was that why did that take the Patriots by surprise -- that that messed them up so badly.

Well you know first volume they've never seen it before you know I can't imagine that they were practicing. Against that particular offense last week at any given time. You know the other thing that. People kind of forget about what happened here is Chad Pennington. Only have three completion just today knows that there were no interceptions. There were no fumble caused -- fumble recoveries. I mean it was almost a perfect -- from the offensive standpoint of the of the Miami Dolphins. And why they were overwhelmed by by and -- four month formation that seems to be so simple. God only knows -- Beckett tell you is that the other team does get paid and when your nose tackle. Didn't push down the field 67 yards. And years secondary is missing tackles right in the hole. An and almost like Deltha O'Neal couple times was try to tackle -- eyes closed and his arms to a side as opposed to wrap it up. And it in the hole and I'm not a definitive about a great tackler outlawed and I didn't want to do that that was in my head job description. But when you see that happening and used it over and over and over again it is quite alarming.

Caught the Patriots either completely off guard or they just weren't prepared to play you know this game -- played. On a high level intensity and emotion I don't know if you guys -- the Pittsburgh Philadelphia game yesterday. I would not want to -- a quarterback and -- Kim on the quarterback the line all of that was even more. And then you juxtapose that against -- the -- the principal former -- but it was almost like the guys and the parents plan opera element did not want to play cupid who.

Boomer did Randy Moss look disinterested from you or a vantage point.

You know kind of just enjoy castle on our show yesterday pointed out and a couple times that even the week before. Against the Jets where Randy Moss seemed disinterested downfield -- blocking and was kind of going back where he was an Oakland. And -- called amount. And accomplished wondering. You know how that -- received in the -- much. Imagine and it is going over very well not just with the players but more importantly the coaches staff and Scott pioli and it doesn't matter anymore that help a lot of money. About their make plays for him but not only make plays to got to block downfield. I think that there is -- real danger of Randy Moss. Become in what he was an Oakland and that he's not professional and up and doesn't realize that he's got to be a big part of the solution on the pitcher to going to be huge problem.

I mean Matt Cassell needs Randy Moss more than Tom Brady did I do not agree.

All 100% yeah and I mean not only Matt -- but LaMont Jordan Hill among Laurence Maroney comes back he needs some. You know you gotta have downfield blocking and one of the things that John Madden said last night because a lot. I mean -- and I give him credit for because a lot of times you don't hear a lot of announcers talking about it but. If there is a long run. They're usually means there's a wide receiver down the field making a key block didn't safety. On the wrong path and knocking down -- A deep at the quarterback that you know has won responsibility. And when you're in when your receivers and not doing that downfield. You know has profound effect on everybody and you know what may be an extra five yards in the Ron. Ends up being instead of Burton won in the -- 36. You know and -- got issues.

But -- coaches lose football games like this always say the same thing at the podium afterwards we -- going to look at the film we are and correct our mistakes and we're going to move on -- wondering with that many players playing that poorly both individually and collect a collect the collectively. Are. These mistakes correct the bowl.

I think so mr. Barrett and especially with that. With that team and a coach and definitely -- made it had a bad day and they were caught off guard. By the Miami Dolphins and they are often the formation and of course what with. Oh what you consider one of those very special that it doesn't come along very often. And you'd take it for what it's -- in the you have to -- argued that the one thing that date and in an -- the Patriots this week -- that. It can't go out on the football field next Sunday and rectify that they have to -- that status do for the next two weeks. In our I don't know I don't know there's another team don't have the guts to do something like this you know the Dolphins -- tank. Probably feel like you know this is the year that. We're not expected to do anything so we can try a lot of different things. I know that Ronnie Brown after the game was talking about how they've worked on this specifically for this game. He -- the New England Patriots deep sense something else but look at something you know -- about I don't necessarily know. Speaking of coaching out will defensive coordinators -- sometimes football's a pretty simple game. -- defensive coordinators -- in the play the Patriots on their schedule that would be San Francisco San Diego Denver and St. Louis next look at this and say it was all we have to do is let Matt Cassel have the short stuff underneath we've been the deep stuff and we limit the softens very effectively.

Well a lot of conflict are you guys when young quarterbacks are planning sometimes they're grain. You know that -- with them an offense that. They think that there's eleven guys on the field but it seemed like there's fifteen guys on the field but they're not really sure about what they're saying. I think -- going through -- little that right now I would imagine that judgment and no I'm not. Don't know what and we we gotta start pulling the trigger we're going to start -- on the ball mean it's great the problem all the Wes Welker and Kevin Faulk and -- people much runs and get little first down. Well we've got to start to get big plays one of the reasons we scored so many points last year is we've ruled the ball around the field we have to start forcing the issue. Have to start getting. Randy Moss back mentally involved in this whole thing he's got a feel like. He is going to be to god it's going to make the big play and it in and all of that in the the repertoire the Patriots offense that they -- the best Randy Moss. But it feels like you know he's not getting what that they need to get the worst the Randy Moss which I think is what we've seen the last couple weeks.

That it is wide open I don't think the Patriots are one of the best teams in football it is that -- an awful awful they yesterday and I'm not. An evaluation performed saying that one game is going to make. You feel like they're not going to make the play up -- feel. But they can do that I still feel like they have enough good players to get them to the point where. I -- are scheduled to me also is still a very. Good scheduled for damage to its schedule we talked about the next fourteen that are coming up after the bye. You know Matt Cassel should be able to exploit some of those deep -- that is playing against. Though he gets a little bit more confidence I think the Patriots are going to be okay but everybody else from the and it's the you'd like damn this thing at the -- yeah. You know yesterday watch Indianapolis go down. You know at home to Jacksonville on just an absolutely horrendous way. You know Denver does not have a deep and -- can score well at home I don't know -- that the Independent road. The others think it's still got a long long way to go on its still wide open.

Well will Buffalo survived against Oakland you and did they legitimate your -- the bills legitimate I know I don't Al Davis was happy the bills survive so we can flyers coach. Today. What are they thinking -- Buffalo I think I weakened and is the reason they.

I think they think they've got a quarterback I think they believe in Trent Edwards even have a great day yesterday but. Again for the second week in a row you know he brought his team back from a deficit in the fourth quarter. I can't begin to impress upon you guys how important that is her or is -- the development of young kids that. He can have a crappy game for three days after three quarters and and all of a sudden turn on in the fourth quarter and lead his team to victory and take some vicious shots. On the final drive in order to get that done so it in my eyes I think the Buffalo Bills right now are -- themselves we got up. The special here -- you know behind senator have a great running back -- have tremendous. A wide receivers and I think that they believe. That there -- the team to beat right now but I again I'm just going to tell you we have thirteen weeks develop games for every team in the league. And we have we have a ton of football left to be played. And are going to be some nasty nasty games come on November December where everything's going to be on line -- I wanted to be young quarterback to be can handle those type -- situation as well.

What do you want to see tonight San Diego and the Jets. -- you think. Brett Favre will have a and more of a command of the office do you expect him to get better every week or is that asking too much of Lee almost 39 year old guy.

Well he's he's been here for six weeks in a -- parents and every time he read an article about. One of his teammates talked about what Brett Favre has meant to this team. They always go back to say well you -- the middle. You know more the -- and stuff like that everybody's aware that he's just not. Anywhere close to being. In tune with the offensive. Play calling the types of players inaudible all the other stuff. But I would tell you that I think they're going to throw that caught the ball mind and the reason I say that a number one and it goes -- and has been susceptible to the past. Number two Eric Mangini has been hammered down here in New York for the last week. You block and get as their team and our quarterback and then you turn a minute Chad Pennington does not make any sense. I would think like most coaches in this league they overreacted criticism. But they've -- going to throw the ball a lot tonight on but I don't -- or another they're going to -- San Diego area of San Diego right now. Those teams don't two that is going to throw everything. You know right at the Jets I've been in have been going to come -- going to be desperate. And try to get into the win column going to try to save their season and it's going to be here very very tough game for the Jets.

I don't know how often formal -- and I guarantee boomer they get inside the five its first animal that they've given it to Thomas Jones three straight times.

Not in India that again it goes back to the criticism here. Its own parents. And it's just an and I know that the coaches realize that I know that the GM realizes that because you know read the newspapers can put our radio showdown area but that doesn't. Right and right exactly sports talk -- And you know that they're going to be just human so they're going to react to it and you watch they'll be more aggressive offensively. Well we always just kind of dealt with each other but Shannon Sharpe is one of the greatest. Teammates I've ever been around and and I hope that is. Kind of warm ups we need to make that a reality show because a lot of Shannon humorous physical humor awkward stands up and a lot of like stand up.
