In and around New England but we've identified during element that would be the return reference Boomer Esiason the Patriot. Monday and the quarterback -- welcome back you probably where he belongs.

Yeah well good morning guys are kind of miss you guys -- that -- that I enjoyed my time in the afternoon but now that I'm a morning radio people like you guys. We produced probably the best on the do this right.

Yes it's overrated is it that. Actually 100% I can attest that -- You can imagine what the feelings and emotions are here in New England everybody understands what the fans are feeling about what has happened the football team. What's the emotional rollercoaster the goes on in the locker room something like this happens.

everybody's probably -- the there's no question about but I think the entire football world. Is done now there aren't any sure two years speed and -- down here -- New York is certainly aren't tears being shed in. And Miami and Buffalo either they feel like this is probably their opportunity to overtake the Patriots but. It would happen in 2001 the Patriots won one -- Lewis knocked out Drew Bledsoe -- I remember talk -- you guys right after that happened. Italian Lipton you know this is why Bill Belichick did say this is like Scott pioli get paid this is wide. Those coaches show up every damn day and they you know and it's certainly easier when you have a guy like Tom Brady playing quarterback or -- but. Now back 2001 that another Tom Brady was going to turn out to be the player that he is today and who's to say that Matt Cassel can't beat you -- a part of that player about -- here telling you that he'll turn into that. But you -- it is the ultimate football had been built between game guys and there -- a coach better prepared for something like -- and really what -- will do now will show just how good Belichick is that the coach because. You'd I would always tell you that it's a great quarterback that makes a great coach is no question about that. But when he went through that transition period between what's on Brady it was good to great coaching I think that won that Super Bowl and maybe get an opportunity to reinvigorate him on his own talk about it is not going to be feet from the point on.

The Patriots still the best team in the division boomer in your opinion.

Are you know what should have a bad day or so and are the best quarterback in the vision that that's for sure but. I still say they they have domestic front line and division. They got the best offensive indeed at the point combination in the division right now until you know we see what happens after ten games with the Jets with the Jets spent a lot of money. In both places in the offseason. Doesn't -- Randy Moss just thought Laurence Maroney is thought Tedy Bruschi to have Mayo they have Harrison. Seymour. I mean this is where you're not sure that Bill Belichick -- to -- A team meeting this morning -- investors to -- You know one man does not make -- team although he makes it a lot better there's no question about that. We're all going to come together all going to have to -- better revolved about to carry our own weight now we cannot fall back on the quarterback. We're going to have to support our young guys it's the same speech. But he gave backed us some seven years ago when Drew Bledsoe went down.

Boomer in your estimation clean play dirty play.

Well you know from all the handled his sudden I was surprised that there wasn't a -- flags thrown -- You know I get interpretation. That everybody had that you can't hit the quarterback you know below the waist now I've. If there's a lot of quarterbacks getting hit below the waist and sometimes it depends of players are coming up off the ground and have no choice but to do that. I mean from all indications -- topic and art Pollard was flying. To do that -- was tried to not Tom Brady out of the game and from my everything I've heard about is that actions on the sidelines comment on the sideline -- that it was just one of those plays that happened in the game and Portland Albert.

And what changes and with the Patriot offense -- today. Do everything obviously castles and appearances for season. He's in the same meetings going to the same practices is Brady to they run the same offense or the things ready and do the castle just can't do.

Well you don't -- I thought it was going to be a little bit more. -- conservative I guess is the Florida market orbit you know what that ten play ninety yard drive was a thing -- And you know thrown out here on end zone and it -- on the sideline. Obviously it shows you that the kids can play I mean you know this is not a kid that. Nope can't play football yeah this is not Rick Meyer playing football this is not Ryan leaf playing football with a kid. That obviously has some skills and has a very good understanding of the offense. I would probably tell you that. Bill -- scale back a little bit but. In my estimation he probably go to Cassell and says listen you've been here long enough you know what's going on. He got a very good -- just been one ever don't turn the ball over that you don't turn the ball over we'll have a chance to win every game because thirty pats will keep it and it. -- but -- We have enough good playmaker on offense that help you out so that's going to be Q number one I think that's going to be in the message. The picked -- capsule please just don't turn the ball have a chance to win.

In your estimation does Bill Belichick when he wakes up this morning know that Matt Cassel is his guy go on -- under the probably bring guys in but in his heart. Does he think this is the guy going forward until he starts turning over and starts losing football games.

I -- Absolute 100% guys you know and I play at all for pre season wasn't pretty but then again he didn't have a full compliment of the offense that weren't even. Game planning specific teams you know they'll they'll look at the Jets on on the -- up from yesterday's game at Miami and no game plan for the New York Jets and and you know Matt Cassel will practice with that game plan. All week long you know don't do that pre season it's more like just getting out there and money plays whatever the other. Teams deepens the view it does -- and -- punch you overwhelmed by that but I think the sudden the kid has poise. It's it's not because it's not that the position you want to be in certainly. But they have no other choice and every coach will tell you that even Tom -- last year. When guys getting Murton guys were you know not playing well and even when Osi Umenyiora went down as pre season and they ought Michael Strahan. But in no excuses that we are who we are we have our team these are our guys we're going to get behind them. Ever going to support them there are no magic. Finding out there there are no players out there right now on the street they could command. Learn the learn that offense quick enough to have positive impact and hopefully Matt Cassel.

If they do bring somebody in and they have somebody you know -- the back up role and at some point this guy needs to be the starter how long would it take over for a guy -- NFL veteran to grasp the softens and and let me be great and I mean serviceable and it.

Well you know listen there's there's -- guys out there I I think that are on the street that maybe can actually called play it at a Timonen and formation. I mean even Brett for yesterday's there have been good in the -- Brett Favre would. Over at 75% of the offense and a lot of mistakes -- not there yet today. And that's you don't want an eighteen year veteran at trying to learn and all that. I'm in its offense to me when I watch it to spread offense ought to -- quiet which means. You know there's only five guys block into -- a lot of the -- subtleties in terms of blitz pickup and all that other stuff I don't know where you're hot receivers. I don't know sort of that they respect guy out there I don't know with a -- visit to -- as the -- it's become -- out well I have bought it via --

W look at the guys out there but this is Matt Cassel -- guys that this is this is to it a year to make his mark much like Tom Brady did. When Drew Bledsoe went down.

What is your opinion of Chris -- is he still -- a viable starter in this league do we not know that after that. Life threatening injury is it's still the same guy.

What I predict that -- good point I think democracy is probably a smart kid. There -- in fact that's what they're saying I don't know -- and I would imagine you know popular is going to vote for all the wires and look at everybody and and try to determine. It is the best fit here. You know. I don't think that really matter because but I did not beat you get to that point. Connected the kid and a plan. Your chances of getting back to the -- and phenomenon may it's Matt Cassel and I'm sure -- the whether -- I gotta believe that they're they're reasonably impressed with his performance yesterday it wasn't. Anything earth shattering you know he didn't lose became to them I mean. You know those kind of a I would imagine everybody -- stadium respond including the players. In fact they -- boy -- win and wasn't you know -- copper and all the other nonsense. Factors that are all part immensely in these guys they've just got a little but order for the Patriots that the move forward.

Now 100% -- unsure as Sammy Morris still spectrum is -- You know over this this morning and I would also think -- from Richard Seymour to Rodney Harrison to Wes Welker and everybody in between. You know Tom Brady here he'd be clearer runaway leader one of a -- the not the best players and all the via cell. And when you lose somebody of that stature assuming that it is going to be an element is going to be facing long injury. Everybody feels they're coming you know you're -- about a morale that is going to be as load up with yet but I'll say that's when -- on -- an interpreter for the Jets. Are are you surprised the -- a three point favorite does that feel about right field.

It feels about right to me I'm surprised at how little bit more. Did just because of you know the the performance that. Pitcher offense had in the pre season not -- colleges it's not a big deal to get all caught up and and all of that did just because they don't game plan. But you know this is. This is trying times for the pitchers is no question about that that -- I'm hard for a long time now been out -- the buckle up but that changed up on Taylor and guys. You know it's it's up to Richard Seymour and Vince Wilfork took the I want it's up. Mike Vrabel looked up all of these other guys now that I have played well for the Patriots was such a long happen now that is going to take their game to another level. To support their young quarterback and the spread does not surprise me at all.

We were focused on this this little story apparent when we -- attending the candlelight vigil outside the locker room what was your assessment that Jets. Dolphins game and and -- performance on uneven.

So like you know I think that noble or anybody you know -- the Jets and -- all you know fifteen games to go a long way to go.

is there any chance do you think that Randy Moss gets I don't know. Reverts to form that he was the in Oakland and just gets it isn't what motivated now that Tom Brady's gone.

Yeah I I think you know he'll be down -- but it does you know that just went wide receivers will be but again and I keep talented -- that Patrick has an opportunity. In this -- have a look at. -- way to look at it it's an opportunity for other players really this step up and coaches to step up and and they try to get out from underneath. You know the umbrella that is Tom Brady you know I'm ready made a lot of things. You know invisible wherever problems there weren't that teams -- was so great that he -- on the field he makes great play. You know -- be the touchdown in the fourth quarter when the game. Whatever the problems were you really did he goes so good. Now all those problems could come that the war on if guys don't pay attention to their job -- there -- penalty. They can handle that coaching -- analysts. I gotta believe that -- about checked and I got the believe. -- the battle that the New England Patriots you know there are no longer the Super Bowl favorite topic but yesterday. And you know Tom Purdue's my and it became so lost that -- Muslim. But the fact is. You know this is what -- a belt -- about it about overcoming adversity. Ratings -- else's misfortune and we're fortunate -- Matt Cassel Tom Brady did you know some seven years ago I just. And I'm just not ready to write the Patriots opted not it's not as bad as everybody thinks it -- they do have.

But we're speaking of Super Bowl favorites you think about it you know before kick -- yesterday the three Super Bowl favorites the Colts the Chargers in the -- of those -- games and the third one who's their quarterback may be for the year a pretty -- every week number one.

Absolutely may have felt always that in week number one you know nobody really knows. Who the good teams are everybody's got is there's higher level of anxiety wondering how their team and apply. You know part of bulk power yet there's things and I hate it we. We want great because there is excited to back in the -- again and but the the thing about it you just don't know what you have. And usually it's about week five or six. Is one of its start to clear itself up assuming that there are no major injuries like Tom -- for other teams. But we're really understand the good teams all right if you ask me the Panthers and the Bears with the two big winners yesterday because they're the ones that won on the road and -- spots. And not only won two games but you know for the Panthers strategic belong to that again at the -- John surgery. And let the Bears is actually kicked the living crap out of the Colts. So you know it then it's wide open in the games -- wake up this morning. A team that the Jets the bills looked really good yet -- the Pittsburgh Steelers all feel like they have the chance to get back to the Super Bowl which is probably the great thing about him well.

A Bible where you've been around the block a couple of times this Tom Brady know right now what's up with -- does -- know before the MRI is done that --

Yeah -- I would think so -- you know on the way he walked off the field yesterday. In the -- of the -- it knew it was hit I think he probably knows. You know I would say that you guys probably normal little bit better than -- The I saw on Saturday night and -- main -- there than at war.
