That can afford. Well it's good to have you back for another season here with with a loss of the big -- we enjoyed it in the past -- great to have you back before we get to this weekend. Not the most entertaining way of starting an NFL season last night they. Know.

All our -- it right it was short and entertainment. Whether it was I think. I think it was revealing in a lot of ways. To take it you know are harder to take what we saw into the rest of the regular season probably. Not really because that I think some I think some changes have to be many. You do strategically. If not terms of personnel on both sides of the of that field last night and you know -- that I -- with the Giants actually because. I think some of the things -- troubling for them. Yet hot start was there and Eli Manning does as some of the things that that were were were quoted in leading -- league -- so what what. I saw quarterback who also. Had some issues especially trying to it's -- to negotiate of the middle of the field. Because then in part large part because he did this is what it the first although business signs of the Jeremy Shockey absence of fact. I I don't think he had that comfort -- guys that you've built by any means Sicily -- of those picks it up with ten catches but. Some of those -- we're sort of tight end type routes that you saw some of them worked -- receiver -- I know he spoke to be able to run both he -- that way. But I I think there was some limitations that that that created at the road and were able to. Handle until -- and of course from the redskins' standpoint. I I saw certainly head coach in Jim zorn and quarterback Jason Campbell looked ill prepared to succeed you -- felt by any stretch commitments.

And me is Jason Campbell suited to that type of offense through -- and a former world but not a full blown west -- put. -- more whole west coast offense we used to.

It -- it looks it looks like he he needs so much more work and had an -- and here's the scary part they let our receiving games because that's all banged it right they have an extended a little bit of an extended training camp I know -- work that he he was putting in the time through the offseason but you know for a guy who isn't and at some point. But your brain once it becomes much that is really has become scrambled -- there have been many different types of offenses that he has been. Learning throughout his career and I know that's been -- repeatedly about a but it is true. That -- yet another system the comprehended. What I saw it was it was a quarterback. Who you're right I mean it is just might not be a fit for him but bottom line. He wrote for -- right now is his only comfort zone with that offense is is -- checked out and and it is is different is just trying to put the ball in the hands of somebody else. His ability to look behind and so. So we've got to make a play here. He he's he's weighing that against. A big mistake and in his mind. Doing the same thing what the only thing to do in the quote that doesn't cut it I'm -- second long and third and long. And I and I thought the management the clock management was horrendous we could see that. We sought -- and it just. It seemed to understand. An offense that they understand that that's just Jason Campbell coaching as well. Through the second half -- guys that they -- in emergency situation because they didn't play that -- you know in many respects.

I was will want to this weekend and -- what's what's happening what is your take. On of this football team -- England Patriots.

I mean I think I don't see them as that the best team in the league guy I don't think they've lost. Anything that that of any appreciable way that that that should be a concern. I know I know every move a team that has to making people. There is is is being older than that it may the other teams and and maybe network short self. For forbidden but besides that I I don't think that's going to be a factor I think they will. Overcome some of the some of those issues I think. You know I still think an offense that that's going to help him in the embracing of Randy -- now into the captaincy of the team broke putting him you know as a lever and identifying him as such. Is -- only. Four I was side respect for the numbers he put up last year. But I think there was belief that he -- bought into everything this team was doing and and showed himself to be truly. Part of only human and not. Randy -- the individual and that you passed that test the blood to it wasn't just the contract that. Certainly that was a big part of that side but I think I think throwing in the captaincy. Was another well. That -- and and I think that's a good that's a very good sign.

A guy that you got a good point about Randy Moss -- a captain because when you look at the the original deal. He comes and it's a no risk for the Patriots you've got a one year he's got to prove himself. Now you're signing -- with some guaranteed money you know -- history his. And you wonder going forward whether it's not going to be a problem not wasn't going to be a problem last year. Because they could simply kind of -- it good but right now suddenly they have got him for contract for guaranteed money. But apparently it's all working Vick or you don't make good morning -- right.

No yeah absolutely don't and if -- it isn't reflection I I believe. You know everybody. Understanding. That. There's moral foundation in place that Randy Moss and and I know he was talking about this at some point recently where. The idea is that everybody is so so so -- further -- and just because they've been there. But those aggressive comprehension and well look it over everybody's doing and into an act and I believe in the system and and I think it's got to make things. I mean how does -- just been making things easier putt. -- I think there's more that you can do as much as we saw this this offense do mind boggling things last year I I think I don't think it's -- stretch to say. That they continue to be taken to another level I don't know that the numbers put topped Logan match. But if you know what I mean in terms of efficient production and in terms of you know being able to pretty much do whatever you want to do whatever you want to do which was often the loop of the pats offense suffered last year. There's every reason to believe that that was more the case now with a -- everybody having that forced you're in the system together. And and I think it met even those -- the -- Josh mcdaniels comfort level with his players and people understanding of of them it is a factor at all.

Vick and others in need there in the middle that the fans who what's the magnitude of Gerard Mayo being the starter inside next to Bruschi here week one in. Rate this draft and militarily we haven't seen these guys in a real game yet but guys like Crable. I mean this team's been able to draft guys develop overseas not that Sam Lugo Deion Branch accompany find him Brady in the late rounds greatest draft in Gerard Mayo in the middle right now.

God you -- I think it's okay I I give it very solid marks. In terms of how you guys putting Patriot cooked with a -- a good -- what I mean by that is. I don't think if you took this same group of players in another team's move that's about another club and I don't even know what example I would use but that lets just say one of of most of the other thirty. One team in the league taking this same group of players I don't know what you're going to have the same effect same impact that this is right because. Most of them with the -- always true with everybody knows it's cliche is system specific and and his personality specific. And George bell I think reflected from day one the consummate Patriot everybody could see that -- Well before you ever ever of those selective and and it is it is it is. It is quick. Studies which is that the first dynamic which was -- to go to the to Scott pioli didn't have to obviously Bill Belichick everybody when they went through this before to step and at the top side and every other players that they saw this guy worked out. And -- with a you don't put that you can you can make it easy projection. And and I think it is it's decided that -- defense -- so has long been home -- but that you plug in young -- Body -- ladies in spots where you'll you'll look bad but you'll you won't be out of control I don't know that it will be done using a younger guy. -- Yeah responsibility for both those things like that that that that can -- can lead to break out because because they're trying to do too much and they're so hyper they're so. To improve a little work must be -- among the top -- tackle in the league right around four million. You look at the bubble that I don't think they're going to double and -- I think they're going to try to find some intermediate ground. The fact he's showing up this early is is real win for -- built in the negotiation.

I know Chad Johnson legally changed his name but we're dealing with what we're dealing with a league here. That. I think I am glad -- I think there's no question you guard against that and and you're you're aware of that as a league there's no question. And in both I think it has more savvy in terms of of that of the road commissioner. Those elements that a Roger Goodell again was seamlessly from ball different levels it's not the least of which is. The marketing side and how how you know attention. Grabbing thought media savvy and all the things. But. Two groups that football players go down this road I something -- there's a offensive ability level and maybe a different people too much credit there's susceptibility level that you all -- that you're not going to cross too often because.
