8-4-08 Andre Tippett Talk

It was great to see Andre Tippett did and with the rest of those guys with a good group too classy group with with the Zimmerman and monk. And Gerald Green and Emmitt Thomas. You know just a lot of great players. With some supportive fans in the Washington fans took over can't know I had it did. But he used you began in earlier this week was amazing.

I I talk to Stacy yeah I talked to Stacey this morning Stacy was in can't win them. Impact on ray mentioned Stacy and in part of the speech and and Stacy said he had worked so hard. And I disagree with that -- content was also great but his presentation was perfect. You know talking about how the the guys that the hall of famers were there were his hero isn't. How she brought in -- than what they know move and a new work with nothin' but the clothes on their back and I just I I thought tip was you know.

I just think from afar. You know you you're looking at it and obviously I've never played the superbowl and knock on the whole thing. Only as a visitor. And I've been there as a visitor BP. But I would think for guys who have done both it would seem going to the Hall of Fame might even -- in the Super Bowl.

No I actually think what I mean because it's because it's a career acknowledgment yeah I mean you played on a team that had a great year. And and your team won it all and you work if your Hall of Fame caliber you were obviously key contributor. But if you get into the Hall of Fame it's saying you weren't just great that. To work -- a lot.

A year heroes drape over and over in now I want you you're great how much of the meat. This person who has great forty years before you played. Maybe forty years before you were born. And now you get to go to luncheons with them and you get to sign your name 88 left. Oh wait. Just like they sign HOF 79 or 85 whatever it is. But. I actually think. That the that the Hall of Fame class. We're not helping -- the Hall of Fame voters that they got just right. And in football doesn't have enough well you think baseball has too many are fine. But I like. The fact that 44 guys. Are in charge of it and that it's hard and it took Condrey capital a lot of time to get in and that it took art monk a long time to get him maybe they need to refine the standard today. But when you get into the NFL Hall of Fame even get there by --

And -- you've done something Ron Borges was like tireless advocate for Andrei -- is that so and even thanked him as part of his speech. Ron it year after year would make the case for why Andre Tippett should be in the Hall of Fame. Peter King has told us about those meetings in that Roman and or just making the case and getting impassioned about it as I -- Borges can do.
