I think one of the things that we have to that we have to wait and see right now. In my opinion anyway is sort of the health of the running back situation in New England. Because right now it's one of those deals where -- don't think anybody knows what what the patriots are going to get out Laurence Maroney the rest -- this year you know how -- geez it is -- injury going to be okay and then beyond that. You know how much EE -- insist he watch the patriots. I think to me anyway if you watch what is happening right now -- they're passing game. Wes Welker in essence has become enlarged to a large part of a lot of times their running game. He helped -- Brady -- to Welker it's such a sure thing in such a high percentage. That you look at it you say what war or what's the difference between you know throw the Wes Welker. I have -- and I don't know how many pass attempts there have been to Wes Welker. But Brady have to be around 85% draw the Welker so I mean. If you're going to be 85% throw Welker -- you really concerned with what's happening in the -- running -- so. Is that it's very able to continue being so efficient with Wes Welker. I don't really think that the that the running game is going to be huge concern down the stretch and if that continues to happen this way I think it's sky's the limit for any statistic that Tom Brady can establish this here.

You know dale I've gone back and forth on that -- I think overall it is a good idea for this reason. You've got the NHL playing hockey games over there people get excited about the NHL. You've got baseball playing in Japan a couple of times and probably Red Sox do win it again nick. Next year you've got basketball which played all over the globe. Regular season games precede contains everything you people are excited about about the NBA. And I mean you look at all these things can -- well -- if he NFL doesn't do something. Then they're never going to mean they're never going to have the ability. To sort of mine in the international market now a lot of people would say what do they need to be that for you know they they're not everybody's screens that they are not Los Angeles and that hasn't hurt him. And you're right. It hasn't heard of not to be in Los Angeles but. I think that this is a bit of a larger broader question. You need to play regular season games and you know what they'll there's enough people right now you know like Bob Kraft like Carl Peterson. You know like Jeff worry and in -- Snyder Jerry Jones these people and I'm talking about some other. Obviously some higher echelon teams in terms of of finance. But there are people who really want to try to grow the game internationally and I think in that case the coaches and the players like Tom Coughlin. If this -- this is castor oil for Tom Coughlin. I mean this is an interruption of the routine he's not happy at all but he swallowing hard and being a good soldier and I think sooner or later it's something that. Bill Belichick Andy -- day all these coaches you know -- establishment coaches. Who want to play on Sunday at 1 O'Clock PM and you don't want to routine they're going to have to cope with because it's coming.

They're really going to be hurt or I'm telling -- these two guys right now in tandem. There is not a bigger pair of run support young corners. You need NFL that these two guys so. I think they're playing better in the middle there middle of their defense against the run and they're getting better run support from their secondary by far than they did a year ago. Which I think makes him a little more dangerous and secondly I think. And that. You know last year because Brandon Stokley was pretty much a non factor eight you know we was hurt so much it meant in many left I think you're seeing Anthony Gonzales and and Kenton keyed -- Who's a total unknown back from the CF so you're seeing two guys. Who have who have been sort of integrated into their offense fairly seamlessly and he still see Dallas Clark play in the slot -- instead of just Gonzales but you'd see two guys. Who they're going to start playing a lot I mean I admire Tony Dungy. He never got into rapture by Edgerrin James he loved them. But he believes what I think a lot of coaches in the league believe you don't need a franchise running back to win in NFL it's nice to have won but what really is a -- turning back a lot of guys if given the opportunity can be franchise running backs. So you've got Kenton -- Anthony Gonzalez two guys he'd ever heard of eight months ago. And airplane you trolls on arm of his offense right now.

Mike Nolan has admitted that his San Francisco 49ers have taken a step back this year Alex Smith has missed the last four games with a separated shoulder. Will return to play quarterback against New Orleans this weekend and they've lost the four games since he's been out. Are they going to be better appreciate -- with Smith or do patriots fans continue to root for them to lose everything because you on their first round peck.

I think they're going to be a little bit better because Alex Smith can get out of the way and Trent Dilfer can't but this is a seven and 19. The patriots are going to have the 13 or 14 pick in the draft and you know what's so funny. I'm not even sure that anybody New England should be and issued stay up latency what the 49ers are doing or anything like that because. I think the patriots have had such great. Success picking later in the first round then also you know not only picking later in the first round but having better. -- ability. You know with the with the guys who get who get who get picked you know later in the first draft -- you look at Logan Mankins. You've got five years of sub two million dollar cap number for Logan Mankins. And you know he's already one of the best young offensive linemen in the league at any position. And so I mean eight look for currencies -- You want the patriots have a higher ticket he can't because clearly eat eat -- you're never surprised to see the patriots trade gap to pick up an extra three years something like that. And I would anticipate without that second number one pick that that's what they'll do again this year. But having said that I don't know whether Kim -- where they -- 13 or 24 in the first round. You know they're still going to get a player is going to be on their team for the next seven great years and do good thanks.

Peter there's got to be a story behind the story with the -- as Thomas -- ray Lewis what is it.

I think the only story behind the story Michael is this that. I think a lot of players in Baltimore locker room have felt for years that ray Lewis is. You know the captain of the ship almost as much as Brian billick is. And that -- you know he's such a commanding presence on the field. That win even when he says something that everybody listens you know his. They -- in the ravens' locker room after game -- ray Lewis is going to speak. You know everybody of scurrying away from everybody else and go over and endless and a ray Lewis is just certain way it's been in Baltimore you know for the last seven or eight years now. And having said that I think ridiculous comments is one of those even though but they -- Thomas is one of the most intelligent players I've ever met covering the NFL I mean. Here's a guy who's even turn to win a media with a senator in Washington one of its first years in Baltimore here's a guy who is. You know some people just say that they -- this guy is a leader early you know he was anyway a leader. In that in this school systems around Baltimore in what he did actually touched kids' lives. You know he's a guy who came out and really helped kids with the things like chess clubs and chips -- events and and you know keeping kids off the streets he's an extremely admirable guy. But he was never -- guy. Who wanted to be mr. leader. And you look at the patriots locker room now. He's very happy to have Tedy Bruschi you know Mike were able at Tom Brady he's very happy to have those guys. Beat the men. -- and anyway he'll be somebody has to do it but I think he just looks at Baltimore is a situation where. This is something that ray Lewis needed the and it's something that that everybody sort of fit into. In New England there's none of that in New England it's all about 53 guys in my opinion what I read what he said. -- said ray Lewis isn't going to like that but you know what -- said he a 100% true.

We sort of feel around here that the patriots will likely be the Redskins I think most people think that the colts will be panthers. They'll go undefeated in to their big match up on November 4. Will the team that comes out of that. Run the table.

I think you have to ask yourself two questions before you know the answer that question okay I think each team. Has a couple of -- mind games the rest of the way. I think the patriots playing into -- Sunday -- Monday night game at Baltimore. I don't care of Baltimore is 76 or where I didn't even. You know what -- what their record would be debated in December I don't care of Baltimore's is scrape it around -- just around 500. And it going into Baltimore in December. Is villages big you know ray Lewis almost people there will be there will be so much motivation for the ravens to win that game. That's a tough one. And then you look at the final game of the season. What will happen if the New York Giants have to play for a playoff spot and hit all our our airplane for home field or something. And the patriots have everything wrap wrapped up. It was Bill Belichick going to call his it is guys together in -- and you know Tom Brady and Bruschi whoever and say hey listen let's talk about how we want to play this I don't know what they'll do but I think the interesting thing. Is going to be. -- how the patriots play the last game or two of the year because that giants game could really be a land mine game. I think the colts. The colts trouble is going to be even though they've got a ball at home. Play in those division foes especially -- David birdies healthy by the time they play Jacksonville. That would be very tough game. And also their -- in San Diego insane Diego. You know at the end of a very tough stretch of games against physical opponent I I hesitate to say either I mean if you had to pin me down right now I think neither of these teams of those 16 and a.

I don't want to know what's really bothers me about that take its dead De'Angelo -- about six years old. And and you know. It it here's the situation in Atlanta now and you've gotta be you've got to be a total fools to not know this okay. They're playing for 2008. They're trying to build something and establish something for 2008 so that may be. By next year this hurricane of crap will have filtered away. And they'll be able just to worry about football. Now okay so what happens you've got DeAngelo Hall coming out this is -- third time this year worried said some stuff like this. He got DeAngelo Hall coming out ripping him for cutting agreed to reaction. To -- what's so reprehensible about that is that you're in a bad situation and you become an arsonist. All you're doing -- gasoline onto a raging fire already. I mean DeAngelo Hall was showing me he's one of the most selfish players at football -- do in this you don't want. He might get his wish and get out there as a matter of fact he probably will even though he's got a year and a half left his contract there. But I think every time he opens his mouth people losing money because people are starting to realize what I care period.

It's not going to defend them on this. Come on if if you want to go if you want to play for 2008 you do it in training camp worry.
