hey hey don't -- them I had alone.

I had it's really --

I don't know Bruce season from New Jersey Condo I was up through San Diego to have -- if they rip off some artist from San Diego area

get that doesn't make sense anyway Mets and others San Diego Chargers there's song I as they're ever going to patriots on that anybody can remember I noted -- are all big on that step out there in the west coast. Haven't a theme song which you know don't want have a team so when you win -- after you've done something. Never won a Super Bowl out there. They -- coaches -- the antithesis of. The coaches the antithesis of. Mr. bill village where eight right now it's time for us to to what the west coast life via modern invention called the telephone and talked to a guy who does basically the same thing I do to does on the left coast earlier. -- earlier out there is the coach John tent our John and Mikey or it and how are you doing my friend.

How we're doing pretty well waiting for a little rain to come overnight -- could be get an interesting Sunday out your field condition wise.

Why is going to get muddied like like the patriots stadium was for so many weeks this year as it is that is it that much rain expected to --

Not don't think so I think gap probably by game time on Sunday it'll clear up and be pretty nice the -- might be a little -- soft but I it's not going to be like it is the New England. Now -- asked of the year radio station out there I am going to San Diego since 95 it's it's the mighty double lex that is correct double exports radio and do we have another. Big time sports station here that I worked out for number years that kinda went by the wayside than they actually used to carry the charge -- game those very much for a directly involved with the charger broadcast back in 94 when they want to the Super Bowl so I haven't seen the -- on this excited really stood at nine before. I'm -- out why they call you coach. Well I have a long history of torture enough high school sports here in San Diego's Wells College growth sport it was a professional scout for a couple of different professional baseball. Organizations and probably player of the lot of people would probably no in Boston is number 47 who plays for the Denver Broncos John lynch played for me for three years -- high school on good that's pretty cool to have -- mean and you got a couple my old friends some of my too much favored shorten the ball time junior say go right. A known since he was a ninth grader Oceanside new course Rodney Harrison had a a marvelous career.

Yellow ball got his course aren't going to be playing in this game this weekend John that's that's the sad part for patriots fans -- both guys were very productive when they were healthy obviously rod visa a big big. -- intimidation factor in the -- you remember that of course very well.

I -- journal story with you about Rodney yes. Backed -- when Kevin gill bride was the head coach here everything was going great -- training camp and then the last day of practice I was out of practice and Robbie and I had a real nice relationship player to -- media guy when he was here he made this -- practically got up and pointed at me over on the sidelines like eight did you see that hit and I kind of smiled -- The following day that's when Gil bride death kind of sense displayed here in San Diego he closed practice the media got all over a minute the end of that year they gave him about four games in the next -- fired him because -- really alienated himself but I told Rodney. After he closed practice ago you know Rodney all the hubbub about. Closing practice all because you an eagles what you're -- Duckett -- at that time early in his career can be a little gullible the end I go well when you pointed to me the other day of practice guilt right thought that you were up loosened focus more paying attention their -- he decided to close practiced he actually bought into that for awhile it's.

We're not this guy's been -- they won an Indy here in New England two on you may notice he's so. Very very well respected person on this team. For being what. Is the equivalent of a quarterback in the in the defensive backfield there his experience of his ability to hit hard and you know it's not exactly a year -- memorable hits this year his presence alone is a deterrent as you know for some offense.

Well you know my job today about Rodney Rodney is such a great guy no we got married a few years ago on a kind of not been able to talk to region back there and he lives back there are now but. Helio was such a quality guy here and I think not only. Did he play great football for the chargers but I think you also talk a lot of the younger players how to play here in San Diego now they had to become professional ball players and I think there're a lot of guys that in doing -- young football players are probably really prospered by haven't Rodney on the roster even though we haven't played a whole lot this year.

Notices of a strange situation here as we we have a lot of transplanted is sandy begins is that what to call them they could say that Santa here in Boston and we've had course now that WBI dot com is available all over the country we have some people from Boston was the radio station live in San Diego now. Couple things have -- we are subtle casting right that is correct okay so you're on for a radio stations appear we're on to down there that is correct Wes guess a grand total of six so let let this be heard now you know you you might -- heard about this yourself -- treated -- the ticket flap that's going on here I guess there were a thousand tickets had became available and for some reason the charges as an organization saw fit to make sure that it was only southern California people were able to buy them where you where ball that. Wells made aware of that earlier today that I also found out the Chicago Bears or pole in the same stopped there in Illinois they are. Okay now what is what are your thoughts on that and because I mean a thousand tickets out of 71000 that's not that many and I understand their nose bleed and and maybe obstructed view they're not the greatest seats. But a lot of people here in town after reading about that the globe in other places. Have to have kind of been a little irked by that by that affected -- admitted opened up on ticketmaster to the whole world abide.

Well I think it should be first come first serve I mean if you're football fairly -- one man have a an opportunity to see your team play in the playoffs you want to go to the trouble applied all the way across country pay the airline -- pay the hotel room intact here in San Diego and you know bring money in the city of San Diego. I don't know why you know other chargers are doing this obviously we've seen a lot of teams Mike you over the years that have come in mother being the Packers -- the chiefs -- the -- her her you know some of the other big time teams that commend. It and they out to cure the charger fans that's not be in the case this year this stadium is -- loud this -- it's ever been in obviously this week it'll be even louder because there are going to be too many New England fans there are.

Right a lot of -- we did get an -- summary out -- chargers did sell out every home game this year yep they did okay and -- know that works nicely Korea I guess I guess from the perspective of the people here who do have the money to fly across country get our hotel take a weekend off from whatever they have to do went. And pony up whatever -- it takes to get -- ticket they're just little disappointed and and some of them are taking it as well okay were didn't -- doubt there and and it's understandable you want to have maximum home field advantage. But to me if if you if you have a thousand tickets you grew up to the public for Europe to the entire country.

I would agree with that you know the other thing I would say out here in San Diego I think gamble for the playoffs even got underway last week on might talk -- at least I can't speak for the other talk show -- here on our station -- in town but. I can tell you the fans a one by one all agree the one team they didn't want to play because of bill bell a chicken Tom Brady was the New England Patriots I -- all four fans out here can you don't name two of the -- sublime letter to the deeper into widener New England but they know about bell -- check in Brady and they know their history and they know this game's going to be extremely difficult on Sunday.

the oddsmakers nationally course evident for a half an -- and if the charges get three points for home field advantage then they're still you know corn if you ask patriots fans and distilled dis respecting the three time Super Bowl champs by not making today. You know a three point spread it should be interesting game at a 14 to two team goes up against the 12 and four probably the -- lack of playoff experience for for rivers it.

It is that to the fans out there I think that might be a factor in this one at all -- I think that's that the unknown factor right now the X factor and I will tell you that's right now Philip -- got hurt -- final ball game and he's been in a walking boot. Much of the last ten days in there's been reports over the last couple of days that foot. The whole bit more banged up than originally thought he's going to play on Sunday and he'll probably have to you know get dried up but he will be in the lineup bin again I think the charger people are feeling right now. We gotta get Ladainian involved in this game if you can run the football can take pressure opera -- because they feel -- to throw 3235 times this week then the chargers problem we're not real good shape.

If you're gonna have to give it up you know to one of your other teammates to a to take the pressure off you might as well be the guy who scored 31 touchdowns this year right.

Bothered no question about it you know I gotta say this we're talking about Rodney and junior both those guys that it so much store San Diego community Ladainian Tomlinson his right up there with anybody that's been here in San Diego including a man that was voted into the Hall of Fame yesterday in Tony Gwynn would dangerous true team guy and agree community --

Burger he's so have great seasons ever in the history of the league and certainly well deserved it deserved MVP award for him let's talk a little bit about another guy you say you say that rivers might have to get shot up to play in the game -- about -- merriment as you gotta be shot up to play this -- somewhere that guy and and were you. Are you surprised that on a day where Mark McGwire for steroid allegations no no proof allegations doesn't make the Hall of Fame and here we are redone -- on national TV every 15 minutes -- seems like on ESPN news after his four game suspension that he's not getting any kind of well I mean at least not an over abundance of super of negative stuff coming his way.

Well -- you've been in this business long hard time in now days I don't think game day you get ready to sit down -- prepare for surely things surprises yet you know what what followed Merriam under earlier in the year you know he still claims that he didn't know what was in the supplement in you know phobia but he sat out. The four games hopefully for his sake it'll never happen again and you know will be water under the bridge -- hold down the road it'll be forgotten by a majority of the fans but I will say this ever since he's come back. He's played even better football -- he knows he has something to prove not only to his teammates but to the fans of Lotta people Worrell give -- him about that.

Yeah I'm just wondering you know course he's somebody that has been dealt with because he's a great player I'm just -- just wondering what the feeling of the the folks out there is in general toward him based on this set. A little bit negative publicity he's dealt with.

Well I Tuesday -- riposte and shorter baseball and we hear all about Barry Bonds fairly regular basis when they come detail on but whether it's one of the hometown guys it's treated a little bit different and again. -- or of course the end it was a one time thing but I mean if it happens again then hey you know then I think the roar becomes a little bit worse than was the last time.

Now there there's also you know is as great of a record is bill belichick is had in the post season your beloved Marty schottenheimer there -- has been the the opposite of that really honestly really you know I guess politics what 12 and two lifetime in the post season and right and -- Marge -- I mean march. Marty schottenheimer is five and 12 and but also -- he hasn't had a good time of it in the last five games none of those five wins he has been last five times.

Know why you're exactly right well let's talk about coach schottenheimer -- I think you like did to say guy doesn't change especially after 21 years in the league but. After the Baltimore to block or they had the lead late and they didn't really trust -- it was early in the year first your starter they just got really ultra -- of the old 40 ball -- they let Steve -- lead the team down under a game winning touchdown in let me tell -- the phones -- rang off the -- people -- bet -- It from that time on their only other loss was in Kansas City in that was a game where they they turn the ball over three times roller early were down big came back. Had a great come back ran out of gas in the fourth quarter and -- times kicked up 53 yard field goal but. -- back to have Baltimore game Marty schottenheimer I don't know if there was a general manager AJ Smith to by the way they're not on the role same page ever. Appearance San Diego or dean spear somebody got to Marty schottenheimer in for whatever reason he has coached this football team -- different. Big East coast of the previous four years here in San Diego at stake in the handcuffs off. He knows his team has great tell on both sides of the ball there are good special teams wise and he what these guys play he's not. The real -- men but. Now comes playoff time it gets a little bit different and people in San Diego Mikey are anxious to speak. How this game was gonna go because they Nobel a trick is taskmaster in the playoffs and they want to see aborted reverts to the old Lordi ball.

We're talking a coach John did -- from the might he'd double acts in San Diego and Doug subtle casting -- on sports radio WEI America's number one sports radio station and were have we're happy to have you along here John I gotta ask you this he got a home team eight know -- this year in San Diego.

The other side of that court is pretty New England Patriots are seven and one on the road even -- the great road teams in history. That is correct in believing that has not gone unnoticed here in San Diego evident today was there is that a team the -- played all year. That that I think the fans in the chargers have more respect for because what New England is -- not once not twice but three times and how consistent they are. From year to year to year and also you know we talk about bill Carrick but let's also give your general manager there's got purely a lot of credit -- done a heck of a job with that roster over the last several years.

You know I have a plan for getting myself to the game I'm gonna I'm gonna slighted Tijuana amid a sneak across the border. And then I'm going to you know kidnapped somebody on the way to the state factional kidnapped modest join their crowd I and sit in the nose -- of one of those thousand seats are on sale can I ask you John about the the charger super chargers some argue.

Played on the radio station play a little bit in the morning. They do a little bit on the morning Sharia night that they do is that tongue in cheek they kidding when they do better -- really serious about it. Well that came into up playback in 1994 that than that everybody kind of rallied around you know where we haven't had a lot of winning football -- years by Keyon. We're going to we're going to try to play that for your your momentarily but while we're going to play it for you right now China every hour ago -- San Diego super chargers on. Now -- we don't have any any strong John are we -- haiku before each game we think that applied for a little patriot Luthor the -- in this song. Well you know we get these hardcore new englanders they come -- they they shovel the the the walk for the first time they drive down from Maine you know they've been sleeping on pine needles right before the game of the parking lot. That'd be drink and -- six say have a.

It's like a charger country bothered no question about it again that's games 135 out here on the west coast so the fans we'll get there are probably by about 8 O'Clock and they'll be given that heck -- all the way up and -- game time they figured now. With the games start at 135 opposed to 15 they get another half hour out that part of life.

nothin' like hanging around the park and I'll tell you what it's probably a lot nicer in San Diego that is when the wind -- we -- will wind -- factors zero degrees. Here in New England I want to wish the best a locked as long as it doesn't mean you're chargers win this -- and our season here John.

I wish you the best like I think it's going to be one heck of a football game in Mikey before you leave all wanted to play a little holiday cheer for you as well now that were into the 2007 I think you might enjoy this one pilots let's let's hear it.

And it.

All right guys.

I don't like get an all -- That's as corny as Kansas in August. Quietly yeah evidently football would bring sometimes even the world little books now well we're -- they're going to make a blt on LT event on that they might -- deal with you hear about you'd get an airplane collided do you want to get to the moral victory got for a ride the did you back. At the deal big -- college coach coach John Q and Darren
